The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 31
As dusk fell, the red mark on Bo Zhoucheng’s back quickly turned into a bruise. Even with medication applied, it only provided slight relief.
It seemed they definitely couldn’t continue filming today. They’d have to wait until tomorrow to assess the situation. If the injury worsened, they’d have to see a doctor.
Xu Youyan fumbled anxiously as she helped the other person out of the car.
“You don’t always have to do these things yourself. Let Su Cha handle it.”
Bo Zhoucheng had little strength left; any movement tugged at the muscles in her waist. Xu Youyan shot her a glare.
“Just focus on walking properly if you’re injured.”
Bo Zhoucheng fell silent, but warmth filled her heart, knowing that Yan Yan genuinely cared about her.
They made their way back to the hotel slowly, unsure if any paparazzi had captured the moment. Xu Youyan supported Bo Zhoucheng the entire way, afraid that even a slightly faster pace might aggravate the injury.
Finally back at the hotel, the assistants didn’t linger long. After saying their goodbyes, only Xu Youyan remained to take care of Bo Zhoucheng.
“Do you want to take a shower?”
Xu Youyan looked at the person sitting on the sofa, hesitating internally but still voicing the question.
“If, Yan Yan.”
“If you don’t mind me sleeping with the smell of sweat, I can skip it.”
Bo Zhoucheng smiled faintly. She had been filming intense action scenes that morning there was no way she didn’t carry the scent of sweat.
“Alright, alright, I get it.”
Xu Youyan walked over, though her mind was still tangled in indecision. It couldn’t be helped, she was someone who struggled with making choices.
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she sat down on the sofa, cleared her throat, and finally asked:
“So, do you prefer a shower or a bath?”
Bo Zhoucheng had thought the little kitten was going to shyly come over and kiss her, only to be met with such a question.
She blinked, then leaned close to Xu Youyan’s ear, her lips almost brushing against the earlobe as she spoke, her breath as fragrant as orchids, sending tingles down the spine.
“A shower, of course.”
Xu Youyan poked the other’s cheek. Though Bo Zhoucheng had the appearance of an icy beauty, her cheeks were surprisingly soft to the touch.
“Fine, then let’s go together.”
Xu Youyan extended her hand. Bo Zhoucheng’s fingertips were always slightly cool, and the touch sent a faint, thrilling chill through her skin.
The two slowly made their way to the bathroom. Xu Youyan switched on the warm yellow light, and its gentle glow spilled across the room.
“Is it manageable?”
Xu Youyan watched as Bo Zhoucheng used both hands to unbutton her clothes.
“It’s alright, but if it were a T-shirt, it’d be troublesome.”
Bo Zhoucheng feigned nonchalance, though lifting her arms had still tugged at the injury in her waist. She pressed her lips together, unwilling to show any discomfort.
Xu Youyan noticed the subtle gesture and smiled knowingly before walking over helplessly.
“Still putting on a brave face at a time like this?”
With that, she took hold of both sides of the shirt and effortlessly helped her out of the troublesome garment.
“I just didn’t want to bother you with such a small matter.”
Bo Zhoucheng blushed, a rare sight.
Soon, water poured from the showerhead. Bo Zhoucheng let down her long hair, the strands dampened by the warm water.
“Let me wash your hair for you.”
Xu Youyan stood on her tiptoes, turned off the shower, and patiently began massaging shampoo into Bo Zhoucheng’s long locks.
“Thank you, but I can manage.”
As soon as Bo Zhoucheng raised her arm, her expression shifted slightly.
Xu Youyan dabbed a bit of foam onto her face.
“Come on, with you like this, what else can you even do?”
Bo Zhoucheng hardly dared to look down. Xu Youyan was just like her, both hidden within the hazy mist.
“How long has it been since we last showered together?”
Bo Zhoucheng tilted her head, letting Xu Youyan lather her long hair.
“I don’t know.”
The showerhead was turned on, and shampoo bubbles trickled down her strands onto her back.
“Youyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng lowered her gaze to Xu Youyan, whose shoulders were dotted with droplets of water, utterly captivating.
Xu Youyan could almost guess what that look in Bo Zhoucheng’s eyes meant. Before Bo Zhoucheng could lower her head, she quickly pressed her index finger against those thin lips.
“You’re injured and still thinking about such things?”
Xu Youyan’s tone was somewhat helpless. Bo Zhoucheng raised her hand to embrace her.
“You never used to refuse me before.”
The words carried a hint of grievance. Xu Youyan sighed softly.
“But won’t we choke on the water?”
No sooner had she spoken than the shower was turned off. Bo Zhoucheng drew closer and closer, pressing Xu Youyan against the tiles. The once-cool tiles now felt slightly warm.
“Not anymore.”
Bo Zhoucheng smiled and leaned in.
But since there were still matters to attend to, she only indulged briefly.
Xu Youyan rubbed her lips with her thumb, recalling the moment. Bo Zhoucheng seemed much gentler than before. It seemed that as long as she went along with her wishes, Bo Zhoucheng would become even more tender.
After washing up, Xu Youyan patiently used a towel to dry the water droplets from Bo Zhoucheng’s hair.
“Should I get you a soft cushion? Would it hurt your back if you sleep directly?”
It was the first time Xu Youyan had shown such concern for someone, and she still felt a bit unaccustomed to it.
“No need, I’m not that fragile.”
Bo Zhoucheng shook her head, but she still needed to apply the medicine once more before sleeping.
“Su Cha isn’t here, so I’m troubling you, Youyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng held a tube of ointment and handed it to Xu Youyan.
“You don’t always have to apologize or say you’re troubling me.”
Xu Youyan unscrewed the cap and squeezed out the ointment. Perhaps it contained mint, as even just touching it with her fingertips felt refreshingly cool.
Bo Zhoucheng nodded. She turned around and slightly lifted the hem of her clothes, revealing that perfect waistline once again. This time, however, Xu Youyan didn’t linger on it. Her eyes trembled slightly as she gently touched the wound, her heart aching.
“Could the props team have done it on purpose?”
Bo Zhoucheng thought for a moment before answering seriously.
“I don’t know.”
Xu Youyan took a sharp breath.
“But you investigated the crew thoroughly last time. How could something like this happen again?”
“As long as there are people, these things will always happen. But it could also be that some careless fool used too much glue.”
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t want to investigate thoroughly it would be too time-consuming. But if someone targeted Xu Youyan, that would be different.
She would investigate to the end.
She would definitely dig out the rat that harmed Xu Youyan.
Xu Youyan carefully applied the ointment to the wound, her heart aching with concern.
“How about using a stunt double this time? If you hit this spot again, it definitely won’t hold up.”
“This is our movie, not one meant to win international awards. It doesn’t have to be perfect. And I’m worried about you.”
Xu Youyan had never loved someone so deeply in her life. She was a strong-willed person who had left her parents at a young age to study at an arts school alone.
Later, she joined a company and debuted as an idol, quickly learning to be independent.
However, with her stunning looks and sweet appearance, she quickly rose to fame, and her days of independence faded like fleeting clouds. Before long, Xu Youyan was surrounded by assistants.
Gradually, she began to regress she no longer knew how to cook, couldn’t prepare her own meals, and didn’t even carry her own belongings anymore.
She had truly become a pampered princess.
