The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 32
As dusk settled, the private hospital was quiet and serene, with shadows of trees swaying gently. Occasionally, one or two family members of patients could be seen walking along the gravel paths.
Xu Youyan strolled among them. When she wasn’t filming or attending formal events, she usually avoided wearing high heels they were too tiring and harmful to her feet.
Her white sneakers pressed against the gravel path, feeling a bit uncomfortable underfoot.
“Did you really want me to come this badly?”
Xu Youyan felt somewhat helpless. Her issue wasn’t a psychological or mental illness but rather a baffling case of time travel.
“It’s always worth a try.”
“Didn’t you promise me?”
Bo Zhoucheng tightened her grip on the other’s hand, inwardly sighing in relief that she had finally managed to coax Yan Yan into coming here.
“Alright, alright.”
Xu Youyan was exasperated. If it weren’t for this person using the condition of changing the stunt double to pressure her, she definitely wouldn’t have come to the hospital.
The bruising on Bo Zhoucheng’s lower back hadn’t faded for a long time. Medication alone couldn’t resolve it; she needed time to recover naturally.
That was why she couldn’t perform the scene with the wooden railing. But when her stubborn streak kicked in, she refused to let a stunt double take her place.
Xu Youyan had no choice but to placate her, eventually agreeing to come to the hospital to figure out the reason behind her drastic change in temperament. Only then would Bo Zhoucheng agree to use a stunt double.
Even though it was a transaction, why did she feel like she was the one at a disadvantage?
“Yan Yan, one shouldn’t avoid medical treatment out of fear.”
“If there’s even the slightest discomfort and the cause isn’t clear, it’s best to get a check-up. That way, you can avoid a lot of trouble.”
Bo Zhoucheng stopped walking, her eyes filled with concern.
Only when you care deeply about someone do you worry over every little ailment they might have.
“I know you mean well.”
Xu Youyan hesitated inwardly, thinking that since she had already done what needed to be done, perhaps she could come clean. But would Bo Zhoucheng believe such an absurd story?
If it were her, she wouldn’t believe it either.
They arrived outside the corridor. Bo Zhoucheng had made the appointment several days in advance.
“I’m going in.”
Xu Youyan took a deep breath, turned around, cupped Bo Zhoucheng’s face, and rubbed her cheek against it before walking into the consultation room.
Time passed minute by minute. It took a long while before Xu Youyan finally emerged.
“Is everything alright?”
Bo Zhoucheng hurried over anxiously, afraid of hearing something she didn’t want to, yet mentally preparing herself for it.
“There’s nothing wrong.”
Xu Youyan reached out and poked the other’s forehead.
“I told you, you were worrying for nothing.”
Bo Zhoucheng blinked, still somewhat doubtful.
“Really, nothing at all?”
“Really.”
Xu Youyan seemed on the verge of saying something but held back, leading the other person out instead.
“I…”
She wanted to say that she had come from ten years ago, but the words stuck in her throat.
Such an outrageous claim even if her own mother told her, Xu Youyan wouldn’t believe it was true. She’d just think the other person was playing a trick on her.
Forget it,
Better not say it for now, or wait until Bo Zhoucheng could truly accept it.
Suppressing the restless thoughts in her heart, Xu Youyan decided not to tell Bo Zhoucheng about it for the time being.
Although she knew Xu Youyan was fine, Bo Zhoucheng still felt uneasy. So, in the car, she brought it up again.
“Should we go see a psychiatrist.”
Before she could finish, Xu Youyan pounced on her like a little leopard.
“Bo Zhoucheng, I’m not sick.”
Xu Youyan was truly furious this time. Sitting on the person’s lap, she looked down at Bo Zhoucheng from above.
“You said I’ve changed, how have I changed?”
“Your temper has become more volatile.”
Bo Zhoucheng lifted her gaze to Xu Youyan and spoke the truth.
Hearing this, Xu Youyan felt her anger flare up. How dare this ice block say she had a bad temper? She hadn’t even complained about how cold this person was.
So she reached out and grabbed Bo Zhoucheng by the collar.
“Fine.”
“Today, I’ll let you experience what ‘volatile’ really means.”
With that, without a second thought or caring whether someone was driving the car ahead, she lowered her head.
Xu Youyan wasn’t very experienced, her actions almost entirely without finesse, yet Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t hold back, letting her breach the defenses.
“Yanyan,”
She managed to catch her breath in the brief pauses, calling out softly twice.
“Don’t do this.”
But Xu Youyan wouldn’t listen. She had already fallen for this person, yet she still suspected something was wrong with her. She had given her everything she could.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to say it she was afraid this person wouldn’t believe her.
Xu Youyan didn’t stop, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders in disarray.
Bo Zhoucheng was tugged at the waist and let out a pained groan.
Her shoulders trembled slightly. Seeing the usually strong-willed person show such an expression, Xu Youyan finally stopped.
“What’s wrong?”
Angry as she was, she still cared and worried about this person deep down.
“It’s nothing. You can keep going.”
Bo Zhoucheng wiped the moisture from the corner of her mouth and lifted her head.
She felt sorry for what she had said earlier. If this could help Yanyan calm down, she didn’t mind being bullied a few more times.
“Did I hurt your waist?”
Xu Youyan wasn’t stupid; of course, she could tell something was off from the other’s expression. She reached out, pressing her fingertips against Bo Zhoucheng’s waist.
Sure enough, Bo Zhoucheng’s brow twitched slightly, clearly suppressing the pain.
“Sorry, I went too far.”
Xu Youyan lowered her head, about to get off the other’s lap, when her wrist was caught.
“If this helps you calm down, then Yanyan, keep going.”
Her fingers were cool, but her words carried a burning heat.
She leaned in closer, enduring the pain in her waist, and pressed her cheek against Xu Youyan’s soft one, savoring that fleeting warmth.
“I don’t mind.”
Feeling remorseful for her earlier recklessness, Xu Youyan still got off Bo Zhoucheng and sat to the side.
“Sorry, my temper isn’t great.”
She had achieved fame at a young age, spoiled and indulged by those around her, rarely hearing a harsh word.
Her fans doted on her, and it was hard for Xu Youyan’s temper not to be spoiled.
No wonder she couldn’t let go of being called a “vase.”
“I know.”
“But ever since what happened with Xia Qian, you’ve changed a lot. So are you gradually returning to your old self now?”
After a moment of thought, Bo Zhoucheng brought this up, a hint of joy in her tone. So Xu Youyan wasn’t ill she was just reverting to her former self.
“Xia Qian?”
Xu Youyan felt a bit puzzled. She seemed to have heard the name before but didn’t know much about it.
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t elaborate further. She never liked reopening old wounds, especially Xu Youyan’s unspeakable past.
But the matter of seeing a doctor could be put to rest now.
Since there was no issue and Yanyan didn’t like visiting doctors, there was no need to go anymore.
As long as she was healthy, that was enough for Bo Zhoucheng.
One or two months passed quickly. The filming of the movie was more than halfway done, and the scenes in Hengdian were nearly complete. Now, it was time to start shooting on location.
The vast desert and Gobi were somewhat challenging to adapt to, so preparations had to be made in advance.
