The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 19
Bo Zhoucheng was momentarily stunned, then chuckled softly and couldn’t help but tighten her embrace around the person in front of her.
“You really came to pick me up.”
All the previous unpleasantness was swept away. In truth, Bo Zhoucheng was easy to appease just a little attention from Xu Youyan was enough to satisfy her.
“Am I fake or something.”
Xu Youyan felt somewhat helpless, feeling as though she was being held so tightly by this person that she couldn’t even move.
After briefly handling the compensation matters, Bo Zhoucheng returned to her car, as the hotels they were staying at were not on the same route.
Xu Youyan had originally intended to return to her own car, but her wrist was grabbed. Bo Zhoucheng, sitting in the car, looked at her.
“Yanyan, I can’t bear to let you go.”
With that, she stood up.
The night wind was chilly, but her lips were scorching hot. Bo Zhoucheng drew closer bit by bit, their breaths intertwining, the cool fragrance seeping into their lungs.
Xu Youyan could hardly resist, her body swaying unsteadily. Her waist was held firmly, as if her weak spot had been seized, leaving her unable to move.
It took a long while before the other person finally released her, but her lips were already slightly red and swollen.
The smell of alcohol on Bo Zhoucheng had faded considerably, blown away by the cold wind and the sobering tea she had drunk earlier when she stepped out.
She was now somewhat more self-aware.
“Yanyan, I think we should take a break for a few days. I feel like my emotions are too unstable, and it might affect you.”
Bo Zhoucheng steeled herself and made a decision.
She felt that her emotions were too volatile and could easily hurt those around her. She didn’t want to hurt Yanyan and couldn’t bear to see that happen, so she decided to step away on her own.
Xu Youyan was taken aback, never expecting the person who had always clung to her to take the initiative to suggest parting.
She hesitated for a moment. Though her heart ached, she nodded in agreement.
“Taking some time to calm down might be good.”
Bo Zhoucheng was a person of her word, with strong execution. Once she decided to calm down, for several days in a row, she didn’t send a single text or make a single phone call.
In the past, she would have sent messages every few hours.
At first, Xu Youyan felt a sense of relief and thought she could adapt, but after just one day, she began to feel an emptiness in her heart.
For the first time ever, she even lost focus while filming a commercial and messed up her lines.
“Cut!”
The director had no choice but to call for a stop and walked over to Xu Youyan.
“Xu Youyan, your state isn’t right. You need to adjust.Xu Youyan nodded, pushing all the chaotic thoughts out of her mind, and began filming seriously.
It was a chewing gum commercial that required some outdoor shots. The outdoor scene was set at a bakery, where the female lead accidentally knocks over the male lead’s box of chewing gum.
The plot was clichéd and old-fashioned, but for a commercial, it was passable.
Across from the bakery was an ice cream shop, its neon sign flickering, with colorful ice cream pictures pasted beside it, very eye-catching.
Xu Youyan’s craving was stirred, so as soon as the shoot ended, she eagerly urged Cheng Zhun to go buy her some ice cream.
To her surprise, the usually obedient Cheng Zhun showed a troubled expression.
“Youyan, you can’t eat that.”
“If Brother Peng finds out, he’ll kill me.”
Cheng Zhun clasped his hands together, apologizing earnestly, but refused to go buy ice cream for Xu Youyan.
Xu Youyan bit her lip, unable to hold back her complaint.
“So stingy, Bo Zhoucheng would only let me have one bite, and she’d finish the rest.”
Halfway through her words, Xu Youyan realized she was thinking about the other person again, feeling a bit annoyed. How had she become so dependent on that person after just a few days together?
She had only just started to feel free, and Xu Youyan thought she was really being foolish.
Did she actually enjoy being controlled?
But the more she tried not to think about it, the more she did. When she passed by that ice cream shop, Xu Youyan’s mind wandered, and she recalled Bo Zhoucheng smiling at her crimson lips vibrant, her skin as fair as snow, her waist and arms looking particularly strong, muscles slightly tensed, with the faint blue veins visible beneath her skin.
Just as she got into the van, she tilted her head and saw Bo Zhoucheng’s billboard outside the window. Bo Zhoucheng still rarely smiled; this ad was from a few years ago, and the billboard was a bit worn, but the person in the ad remained beautiful.
Being in a relationship with someone like that wouldn’t be so bad.
Xu Youyan felt her heart in turmoil. Why was she so reluctant to let go?
Could it be that she had really fallen for her?
She patted her cheeks, feeling as though her emotions were a tangled mess of thread, impossible to cut through and even harder to sort out.
On the other side, Bo Zhoucheng was flipping through a script.
She closed her eyes, carefully reciting the lines aloud.
In front of her was a rabbit plush toy, which Bo Zhoucheng imagined as Xu Youyan.
In The Thousand-Faced Gu, Bo Zhoucheng played the woman in red, the so-called female second lead, who, under her father’s orders, eliminated the female lead’s family for being traitors.
However, because she had known the female lead since childhood, the second lead couldn’t bring herself to harm the young girl and instead let her go.
But because she was wearing a mask, the female lead didn’t recognize her.
As an adult, the female lead, admiring the second lead’s reputation in the martial world, clung to her persistently until, during an inn stay, the second lead could no longer tolerate it.
She pinned her to the bed, lifting the female lead’s chin.
Bo Zhoucheng closed her eyes, lifting the rabbit plush’s chin.
“A’Xue, I told you, stop following me.”
“I’ve cultivated a poisonous technique; my body is filled with toxins.”
Before she could finish, the woman wrapped her arms around her neck and kissed her cheek.
“Lian Que, I said, I’m not afraid of poison.”
Bo Zhoucheng lowered her head, gripping the soft fabric of the plush, her eyes filled with deep affection and restraint.
“A’Xue, Youyan.”
“You should know, once you get close to me, toxins will accumulate in your body day by day. If I don’t give you the antidote, you’ll die bleeding from all orifices.”
“So, do you still want to cling to me?”
Bo Zhoucheng’s eyes gradually reddened; she could no longer distinguish between the scene and reality.
Her hand tightly clenched the fabric of the sofa.
“If you leave me, you will die, do you understand, Xu Youyan!”
Just then, the doorbell rang outside, one chime after another. Bo Zhoucheng was fully immersed in her role, completely undisturbed by the outside noise.
Xu Youyan found it strange; Su Cha had said Bo Zhoucheng had no schedule today.
But then she remembered Cheng Zhun mentioning that this was their shared home, and her fingerprint could unlock the door. Tentatively, she pressed her finger against the scanner.
With a “beep,” the door unlocked.
Pushing it open, Xu Youyan held a bag of fresh sugar oranges in her hand. She had asked around and learned that Bo Zhoucheng had a preference for this fruit.
Xu Youyan thought that perhaps she could humble herself a bit toward the other person, she couldn’t bear Bo Zhoucheng ignoring her.
Because if that happened, no one would help her finish the leftover ice cream, no one would wash the fruit for her.
Most importantly.
Not seeing this person for even a day made her feel miserable.
Xu Youyan realized she might have fallen for this person, or maybe she was just being foolishly infatuated with her rival.
As the door was pushed open, a soft call reached her ears.
“Youyan, Yanyan.”
Xu Youyan lowered her gaze and saw Bo Zhoucheng holding a rabbit toy, calling her name.
The orange candy dropped to the floor.
Xu Youyan couldn’t shake the feeling that she had accidentally wandered into the home of someone mentally unstable.
