The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 16
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t particularly like drinking, as alcohol could cloud the mind, but today she had uncharacteristically downed a few glasses.
Xu Youyan was outside chatting with a group of people, unwilling to pay her any attention.
Bo Zhoucheng irritably ran her fingers through her hair. Perhaps she really had said the wrong thing, but how could she beg for forgiveness?
She shouldn’t have mentioned seeing a doctor. Xu Youyan had always hated it when others doubted her.
“I made her angry.”
The phone call was still connected as Bo Zhoucheng poured out her frustrations to her close friend.
“Why? Haven’t you two always gotten along well? Xu Youyan is the type who loves sticking to you in everything.”
Her friend had just finished a long day of filming and was off work she was the director of that movie and the background was filled with noisy chatter.
“Today, while we were recording the show, she chose to ride the roller coaster with another girl instead of me. I got angry, so I dragged her into a corner.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s cheeks were flushed, her words slow and tinged with grievance. It was rare for her to be like this, but today, she had lost control because of Xu Youyan.
“Dragged her into a corner and then what? Did you bully her? You’re too domineering you should change that. Xu Youyan has a proud personality and doesn’t like being pushed around.”
Bo Zhoucheng nodded, then shook her head.
“Am I domineering?”
“How could you not be?”
Her friend teased, and Bo Zhoucheng accepted the criticism with a guilty conscience.
“Then I’ll go apologize to her.”
Xu Youyan had a particular fondness for cherries and strawberries. After a moment’s thought, Bo Zhoucheng stood up.
She temporarily stepped away from the show recording and went with her assistant to a fruit shop to buy some things.
She selected each piece with great care, examining them as if they were treasures. Once she had made her choices, she had the shop assistant wrap them meticulously before returning to the filming location.
“Sis, Youyan’s temper is getting worse. You shouldn’t spoil her like this.”
Su Cha couldn’t stand watching. Bo Zhoucheng had always been someone who carried herself with pride, yet now she was drowning her sorrows in alcohol and buying fruit for Xu Youyan a far cry from her usual cool and aloof demeanor.
Hearing this, Bo Zhoucheng turned around. Her slightly intoxicated eyes carried an invisible pressure when she looked at others.
“Don’t talk about Yan Yan like that.”
Bo Zhoucheng pressed a finger to her lips, signaling to be quiet and stop talking.
They walked through the night breeze and returned to the room.
Xu Youyan had already come back from outside and was showering in the bathroom. She hummed a song from her idol group days, youthful and vibrant.
The song was a bit old; Bo Zhoucheng had only heard her sing it a few times, but each time, she found it exceptionally beautiful.
Xu Youyan’s voice was like a White Rabbit Creamy Candy sweet and soft. No wonder people often said she was better suited to continue in the idol industry.
Taking the fruit out of the box, Bo Zhoucheng washed each piece carefully, even removing the green stems from the strawberries, and arranged them on a porcelain plate, waiting for Xu Youyan to come out.
A short while later, the bathroom door opened, and Xu Youyan stepped out wrapped in a bathrobe.
She looked at Bo Zhoucheng with some surprise. Bo Zhoucheng had disappeared earlier, and she had searched for her for a while. Now, after just one shower, she was back.
However, Xu Youyan’s gaze was quickly drawn to the plate of strawberries and cherries.
“Why did you buy these?”
Xu Youyan sat down to the side, reminding herself inwardly not to crave these things. She needed to restrain herself, control her diet, to maintain her slender figure.
“Apology.”
Bo Zhoucheng uttered just a simple sentence, using her slender fingers to pick up a cherry and bring it to the other’s lips.
“I shouldn’t have been so domineering toward you.”
Bo Zhoucheng lowered her head, clearly showing genuine remorse, which stirred a few threads of pity in the other’s heart.
“It’s only natural for you to worry about Zheng Ya.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was gentle, even carrying a hint of flattery. Xu Youyan found it hard to believe that such a proud person could wear such an expression.
“Actually, I’m at fault too.”
Xu Youyan sat down, thinking she shouldn’t have been so harsh during the day.
She opened her mouth and ate the cherry; the sweet taste spread between her lips and teeth.
“Zheng Ya is afraid of heights, so I wanted to accompany her. I didn’t explain it clearly to you earlier.”
Xu Youyan lowered her head somewhat guiltily. Bo Zhoucheng had been so good to her, yet she still regarded her as a rival she really wasn’t being fair.
“I know.”
Bo Zhoucheng moved closer, gazing at the other’s face. Several thoughts arose in her heart, only to be forcibly suppressed.
She told herself she couldn’t she had only just gained Youyan’s forgiveness.
Xu Youyan picked up a strawberry. She didn’t dare eat too much and instead brought it to Bo Zhoucheng’s lips.
“Try one.”
Bo Zhoucheng opened her mouth to take a bite and smiled softly.
“It’s sweeter when you feed me.”
Xu Youyan felt a bit speechless this person always loved saying such things, but the trembling of her fingertips betrayed her true feelings.
Truth be told, Xu Youyan couldn’t handle such seductive teasing either.
The angry kitten was quickly soothed, and Bo Zhoucheng finally felt a little more at ease.
Late at night, she still couldn’t sleep.
Opening her eyes, she saw Xu Youyan sleeping soundly beside her, clutching a shark plush toy.
Xu Youyan looked even more gentle and beautiful in her sleep. Bo Zhoucheng finally understood why the prince couldn’t resist kissing Sleeping Beauty. If it were her, she would do the same no one could resist such beauty.
Using her fingertip to brush away the stray strands of hair on Xu Youyan’s face, Bo Zhoucheng gently poked her cheek with her thumb.
Yet in her heart, she worried that this person might change her feelings.
“What would I do if you left me?”
Just seeing Xu Youyan ride a roller coaster with Zheng Ya earlier that day had made Bo Zhoucheng’s heart ache, as if something were tugging at it.
Suddenly, the person beside her murmured softly, likely caught in a dream.
Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t resist leaning her ear closer.
“Bo Zhoucheng, even though I’m a vase, I know I’m a vase. but you can’t say that. It makes me lose face.”
Xu Youyan spoke slowly, her words somewhat slurred. It took Bo Zhoucheng a while to understand.
Why was she still holding onto this matter?
Bo Zhoucheng felt a pang of regret.
Regret for why she had ever made such remarks in front of the media.
But before she could dwell on it, Xu Youyan had already tossed aside the shark and snuggled closer.
“But, ”
“Since you apologized so sincerely and even knelt down to hold my feet, I forgive you!”
Bo Zhoucheng:
What kind of dream was this?
Why would she be holding feet?
But being hugged around the neck, she felt happy inside. She raised a hand and gently patted the other’s back, as if soothing a child to sleep.
“I hope your dream is a pleasant one, Youyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng closed her eyes, no longer dwelling on the messy thoughts.
She told herself that no matter what happened, no matter how Xu Youyan might change, even if she were to forget her due to some illness, Bo Zhoucheng would continue to love the person before her.
However, the matter of seeing a doctor would have to be taken slowly.
Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t let Xu Youyan avoid seeking medical treatment out of fear.
