The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 10
After filming the show all day outdoors, Xu Youyan felt a sore ache in the soles of her feet. She was certain blisters had formed and burst, the raw skin rubbing against her socks, making every step a painful ordeal.
Mo Tian was a perceptive person and immediately noticed something was off with Xu Youyan.
He crouched down, turning his head with a warm smile.
“Youyan, if you can’t walk anymore, I can carry you.”
Xu Youyan shook her head.
“No need, I can manage on my own.”
She had been avoiding this man all day. The other men in the show understood that participating in this dating program was merely an act, but this one seemed to have taken it seriously, genuinely believing she would actually choose a boyfriend here.
And that it had to be him.
Honestly, if Xu Youyan really had to pick someone, she’d rather choose Bo Zhoucheng.
“Don’t be polite. Look, your legs are trembling. You must be exhausted after walking all day.”
Mo Tian remained undeterred, patting his back invitingly.
Just as Xu Youyan was about to step around him, another group of people approached from the opposite direction. Bo Zhoucheng feigned surprise as she walked over.
“So you’re here. What a coincidence.”
In reality, she hadn’t stumbled upon them by accident it was entirely intentional.
Mo Tian felt a gaze fixed intently on him, one filled with warning and threat, sending shivers down his spine.
“What’s wrong?”
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t even bother with pleasantries, walking straight over to Xu Youyan with concern.
“My feet hurt.”
Xu Youyan was someone who loved to act spoiled. Whenever someone showed concern, she couldn’t help but whine, eager to pour out all her grievances from the day.
“Let me see.”
Bo Zhoucheng guided her to a wooden bench by the roadside and crouched down, removing Xu Youyan’s shoes without the slightest hesitation.
Xu Youyan was wearing a pair of white socks with a small embroidered rabbit at the edges. Bo Zhoucheng recognized them as a gift from herself, and a sense of warmth filled her heart.
Gently rolling down the socks, Bo Zhoucheng revealed a pair of delicate feet, with plump, pinkish toes.
She examined the soles and, sure enough, found a large blister that had already burst.
“Wait here. I’ll go to the pharmacy to get some medicine.”
Since they were still filming, it wasn’t convenient to ask an assistant for help, so Bo Zhoucheng went herself. After buying the medicine, she returned and carefully applied it.
The blister hadn’t fully ruptured yet. After draining the fluid, she applied the ointment and covered it with a bandage.
Even so, walking was still painful. Xu Youyan frowned after taking just a few steps.
“I’ll carry you.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s heart ached at the sight. Even at night, she couldn’t bear to see the other person in such discomfort.
“No need.”
Surprisingly, Xu Youyan was unusually stubborn and shook her head.
But the next moment, the person in front of her crouched down.
“It’s fine. I’m strong.”
Acting was a demanding profession. From wirework to practicing swordsmanship and horseback riding, actors needed to master various skills. Without some strength, it was hard to keep up.
Unlike actors who frequently relied on stunt doubles, Bo Zhoucheng handled everything herself, almost never using a stand-in.
Xu Youyan initially wanted to refuse again, but her feet hurt too much. After wrestling with her thoughts, she finally climbed onto Bo Zhoucheng’s back.
Bo Zhoucheng carried a faint, cool fragrance about her, one that never seemed to grow old no matter how often it was breathed in. She adjusted her grip, hoisting Xu Youyan a little higher, and couldn’t help but smile.
“I’ve gained a bit of weight these past few days.”
“Shut up.”
Hearing this, Xu Youyan blushed deeply, wishing she could cover the other person’s mouth.
“It’s fine, a little plump looks good. You were too thin before.”
Ever since being criticized online, Xu Youyan had lost her appetite and remained very thin. Gaining a little weight these past few days was something Bo Zhoucheng found somewhat comforting.
The two of them walked back to the guesthouse like this.
However, since they were filming a show outdoors, it was inevitable that spoilers would leak. The video of Bo Zhoucheng carrying Xu Youyan on her back was quickly uploaded online.
At first, the comments were relatively harmonious and friendly.
But soon, things took a turn for the worse. Bo Zhoucheng’s fans were not pleased.
They believed that, given her status, there was no reason for her to carry Xu Youyan on her back.
[XYY is such a scheming green tea b*tch. She wouldn’t let the guy carry her and insisted on Zhoucheng carrying her instead. It’s obvious she did it on purpose. If Zhoucheng hadn’t carried her, she would’ve been labeled as selfish and cold-hearted.]
The more Xu Youyan read, the more her hands trembled. She picked up her alternate account and passionately argued back.
When Bo Zhoucheng returned from her shower, she saw Xu Youyan clutching her phone, fingers tapping furiously.
“What’s wrong?”
Bo Zhoucheng sat on the edge of the bed and glanced down, seeing the content on the phone.
[It’s their business, why should an outsider like you interfere? With Bo Zhoucheng’s stubborn temper, if she didn’t want to carry her, not even ten oxen could make her do it.]
After typing her response, Xu Youyan let out a long sigh.
Bo Zhoucheng finally understood where the strange feeling was coming from. The old Xu Youyan would never have cared about such comments.
Because,
Back when Xia Qian died, she had already experienced too much helplessness.
She knew that arguing with others was pointless.
Suppressing the strangeness in her heart, Bo Zhoucheng thought it was time to see a doctor sooner rather than later.
She gently took hold of Xu Youyan’s phone.
“Stop looking. Go take a shower.”
Xu Youyan turned off her phone, feeling a bit aggrieved.
“They said I made you carry me on purpose. They said I was being manipulative.”
“They said I have a problem with you, that I didn’t want the guy to carry me and insisted on you doing it.”
Bo Zhoucheng wrapped her arms around Xu Youyan, her heart aching along with hers, and gently patted her back.
“I was the one who wanted to carry you.”
Bo Zhoucheng felt teardrops fall on her neck. She held Xu Youyan tighter and carried her into the bathroom, not wanting the cameras to capture Xu Youyan crying.
The bathroom was still steamy from Bo Zhoucheng’s recent shower. Xu Youyan took a deep breath, but before she could react, she was pinned against the cold wall.
“Yanyan, your emotions have been too unstable these past few days.”
Bo Zhoucheng spoke softly, her fingers cupping Xu Youyan’s face.
She leaned in closer and closer. Xu Youyan didn’t resist, her mind still wondering what this person was up to.
The next moment, she understood. Xu Youyan didn’t shy away from spending an intimate night with the award-winning actress in fact, she felt like she was the one benefiting.
But,
“We’re filming a show right now.”
Xu Youyan still had some pride and dignity. Although she disliked this person, she didn’t dislike her face.
Besides, the other had just carried her back, and Xu Youyan felt grateful.
“Then don’t make a sound.”
Bo Zhoucheng lifted her head and sealed Xu Youyan’s lips with her own.
Xu Youyan’s heart raced as she glanced down at Bo Zhoucheng’s hands. Bo Zhoucheng had beautiful fingers, droplets of water clinging to her fingertips.
And at this moment, she was completely under the control of those hands.
Xu Youyan wrapped her arms around Bo Zhoucheng’s neck, her mind racing with the thought that Bo Zhoucheng could actually be this gentle.
But just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Bo Zhoucheng had no choice but to reluctantly pull away.
“I told you, we’re filming a show right now.”
Xu Youyan’s heart was in turmoil, but she still maintained her pride, pretending as if nothing had happened.
