The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 8
Chapter 8
“Yo, little sister, is this your first time in a bar? How about having a drink with big sister?”
“You’re still in school, aren’t you?”
“Your face is so red—are you shy?”
The moment Su Yi’an spotted Lan Yan, she had chased after her at top speed. However, due to the distance, Lan Yan had already vanished by the time she entered the bar. Instead, Su Yi’an found herself surrounded by a group of men and women teasing her. Her face turned as red as a beet from sheer annoyance.
If it weren’t for the possibility of security cameras and the fact that assaulting an Omega was illegal, she might have sent these jokers flying with a single punch.
“How about this? Big sister will give you a hundred thousand a month if you come with me. I just love those deer-like eyes of yours.” The speaker was a wealthy-looking middle-aged woman. Seeing Su Yi’an’s silence, she became even more emboldened in her teasing.
The people around them joined in the heckling.
“Manager Zhang, I heard you just got beaten up yesterday by some reckless male Alpha, and here you are finding a new target already? It seems our Manager Zhang likes both male and female Alphas, haha!”
“But today’s girl is indeed much better looking than that waiter from yesterday. I wonder if she works here? She’s so pretty it makes my heart itch too.”
In reality, the bar’s lights were flickering and colorful, and Su Yi’an was wearing those heavy glasses, making it impossible to see her eyes clearly. These people were simply captivated by the “inexperienced student” aura she radiated. Little did they know that behind those slightly narrowed eyes lay a hidden trace of murderous intent.
The system trembled in fear: “Host, if you’re going to find the female lead, go find her quickly! I won’t stop you, just don’t start a fight!”
If it hadn’t seen the host chasing after Lan Yan just now, it wouldn’t have understood her increasingly confusing operations. Since the host never listened to its advice anyway, it decided as long as the mission was completed without destroying moral values, she could do whatever she wanted. Most importantly, the host was truly terrifying when she was angry. She didn’t need to shout; a cold face alone was enough to silence the system.
The host knew martial arts, and these people were just delicate Omegas. If a fight broke out, some would end up dead or crippled.
Su Yi’an watched the bar manager approaching and let out a low laugh. “Relax, I won’t do anything illegal.”
To deal with these people was simple; she didn’t need to do it herself. Besides, she had no interest in wasting time on things unrelated to Sister Grape. She’d let them slide this time.
The person she had contacted for the interview arrived. Su Yi’an naturally wouldn’t let things get out of hand now.
“Apologies, Manager Zhang, this person is here for an interview at our bar. Please, step aside,” the manager said, naturally dispersing the crowd and leading Su Yi’an to a quieter, brighter area.
“Hello, Manager,” Su Yi’an handed over her resume with a nervous expression.
“You are Su Yi’an?” Under the light, the manager looked at the photo on the resume and then at Su Yi’an. His eyes lit up. “Not bad, even better looking in person. Can you take off your glasses so I can see?”
“I’m sorry, I… if I don’t wear my glasses, I can’t see anything… The recruitment notice didn’t say I couldn’t wear them… I…” Su Yi’an adjusted the glasses on her nose bridge uneasily. Slight sweat broke out on her forehead, and a thin blush colored her jade-like face as if she were frightened.
This display made the manager even more satisfied. He returned the resume and smiled. “Don’t be nervous. You can wear them; I was just asking. Take your resume and go to Room 888 on the second floor to find Boss Lan. He’s waiting for you!”
Today’s candidate was even cleaner and prettier than Zhan Ming. Boss Lan would surely be satisfied. Since both candidates went through his hands, as long as Boss Lan’s sister took a liking to one of them, a promotion and a raise were guaranteed.
Boss Lan? Is it Lan Yan or Lan Yu? Either way, it was a step closer to Sister Grape. After all, Lan Yu was the one who had facilitated the connection between Zhan Ming and Lan Yan.
“Okay, thank you, Manager!” Su Yi’an’s lips curled in the shadows. She took the resume and hurried toward the second floor.
The manager watched her back and shook his head with a chuckle. “Young people who haven’t been corrupted by society are always so clumsy.” But that “clean, green” feeling was exactly what Boss Lan wanted.
Su Yi’an reached Room 888 smoothly. Standing outside, she took a deep breath, straightened her cheap clothes, and raised her hand.
“Come in!” Before she could knock, a lazy male voice drifted from inside.
“Hello, Boss Lan. I am Su Yi’an, here for the interview.” Su Yi’an pushed the door open and walked in with her head down. Thus, she didn’t immediately notice that there was another person sitting in the room—the very person she had been longing for.
Hearing the familiar voice, Lan Yan’s eyelids flickered. She turned around, her gaze unreadable as she looked at Su Yi’an.
The female Alpha that her cousin claimed was on par with Zhan Ming… was the little sister who had bumped into her at Beijing University yesterday? Last night, she had even accepted her friend request. Later, the girl had messaged her saying she was finding a part-time job to pay back the jacket money as soon as possible. Lan Yan had been busy and hadn’t replied, feeling it was unnecessary.
Who would have thought the girl would find a job at her cousin’s bar? Her cousin had even excitedly called her over to “check out the goods,” saying some nonsense about keeping both if she liked them.
Lan Yan truly didn’t know what to feel about her cousin.
Lan Yu, seeing Su Yi’an’s face, froze for a moment. Then, he began blinking furiously at Lan Yan: This one! This one! Better looking than Zhan Ming, higher education, similarly tragic family background in need of money, looks cleaner and easier to control, AND she’s an S-class Alpha! She’s perfect for you!
Lan Yan looked away. For some reason, she didn’t say a word.
Lan Yu couldn’t read his sister’s mind, so he straightened his posture and proceeded with the pre-arranged process. The first step, naturally, was to gather basic information.
Lan Yu cleared his throat. “Su Yi’an, twenty-three years old, first-year Chemistry grad student at Beijing University. Why do you want to work part-time here?”
“I heard about this place from a junior. They said the pay is high and the staff are treated well. I… I owe money to a beautiful sister, and I want to pay her back as soon as possible.” Su Yi’an kept her head slightly lowered. As she spoke, she seemed to grow embarrassed, and her face flushed red.
Lan Yan’s hand on the table trembled, accidentally knocking over a cup.
The crisp sound made Su Yi’an look up. She stared at Lan Yan, her eyes suddenly filled with starlight. “Sister… you… why are you here?”
What an actress! the system grumbled silently. It had already reminded the host that the female lead was present while Lan Yu was talking.
