The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
After a night of profound “learning,” tonight’s dream was destined to be different from all the others.
The delicious large grapes were gone, replaced by an even more alluring Sister Grape. This Sister Grape took the initiative to probe with her tongue; she blushed as she bared her neck, stripped bare, offering herself for a bite. The entire room was filled with the intoxicating interweaving of grape scent and wine…
In the middle of the night, Su Yi’an jolted awake from her dream, trembling. She grabbed the phone on her nightstand and checked the time: exactly 3:00 AM.
She had a new WeChat message. Lan Yan had accepted her friend request.
Without fail, the ventilation fan had turned on automatically. The pajamas she had just changed into before bed were soiled again. Su Yi’an didn’t even have time to check WeChat properly before rushing back into the bathroom in a state of disarray.
Ten minutes later, covered in a light mist from the shower, she stepped out. She stared at the grape profile picture, wanting to send something but feeling it was inappropriate. She stared at her phone until dawn, unable to fall back asleep.
As a prey who had delivered herself to the doorstep, she had to have patience. She couldn’t be too aggressive, but she couldn’t do nothing at all.
Early the next morning, sporting two dark circles under her eyes, Su Yi’an prepared everything and officially moved into Beijing University. Since it was move-in day for first-year graduate students, her appearance didn’t seem out of place.
Given her academic record, the president had wanted to place her in the Finance or Mathematics departments, but she chose Chemistry. There were two reasons: first, it made it easier to interact with Zhan Ming; second, she discovered that this major had fewer class hours, and most importantly, the professors didn’t take attendance.
“Hello! Are you also a new grad student in Chemistry? I’m He Xia, your only roommate. Please look after me!”
As soon as she entered the university apartment, a young woman around her age stepped forward, enthusiastically helping her bring her luggage inside. “What’s your name? You’re way too pretty! It’s my first time seeing such a beautiful Alpha. By the way, do you have an Omega? You must, right? I smell both mango and wine on you. It’s normal, though; I heard many grad student Alphas are already married with kids. Not like me—I haven’t dated in years.”
Before Su Yi’an could speak, the girl rambled on like a chatterbox.
“I’m Su Yi’an. I don’t have an Omega for now. I just used some perfume,” Su Yi’an replied succinctly.
He Xia’s words reminded her that in this novel’s world, whether Alpha or Omega, as long as they weren’t marked or hadn’t marked someone, they usually only carried one scent. Few people used perfume to mask their pheromones because, for the opposite sex, the natural scent of pheromones was the most attractive thing.
To avoid raising Lan Yan’s suspicions originally, she had used a mango-scented perfume. Now she wondered: Would Lan Yan suspect I’m involved with another Omega?
Could she have outsmarted herself? Su Yi’an’s expression darkened. She needed to find a chance to explain.
That one sentence, however, made He Xia’s face change instantly. She let go of Su Yi’an’s luggage as if it were a venomous snake and scrambled back several steps. “Using perfume? You’re not into A-A (Alpha-Alpha) relationships, are you? Let’s get one thing straight: I’m an Alpha, but I’m straight.”
No wonder she’s so pretty. An A-A relationship? What a waste, He Xia thought.
The veins on Su Yi’an’s forehead throbbed. She gritted her teeth and said word by word, “I. Like. Female. Omegas.”
“Oh, okay!” He Xia’s expression softened slightly, but she still didn’t dare get close. “No need to explain, I get it!” She tested the waters cautiously: “Have you heard of our school’s two ‘Campus Flowers’? Do you like Lan Yin from the Art Department or Jiang Dong from Math?”
Clearly, she still didn’t believe her.
Su Yi’an couldn’t be bothered with her and started setting up her bed. She didn’t know either of them; she only wanted her Sister Grape. If it weren’t for Sister Grape, why would she suffer here? Wouldn’t living alone in a two-bedroom apartment be better? Besides, based on looks alone, she was the one who should be afraid of He Xia taking advantage of her—it wasn’t like Alphas hadn’t coveted her before.
Still, the name Lan Yin sounded familiar. Where had she heard it?
Forget it. Classes started tomorrow. She needed to use today to find a part-time job. The bar where she lost her first kiss would be perfect. The system said it was owned by Sister Grape’s cousin and was currently hiring servers. Perhaps by working there, she could lose her “second first kiss.” If she could give her “first night” to Sister Grape too, that would be even better.
With that thought, Su Yi’an’s movements quickened. She finished her bed in record time, organized her things, and then checked the bar’s recruitment info on her phone, sending her resume to the manager. Of course, it was her “disguised” resume.
After a brief chat, they agreed to an interview in fifty minutes.
The speed at which Su Yi’an organized her bed stunned He Xia. Looking at her own bed, which wasn’t even a quarter finished, she gave a silent thumbs-up. “As expected of a top-tier Alpha. Such speed is incredible. You’re so fast!”
Then, she muttered under her breath, “No wonder they say A-A couples are monsters.”
The speaker was careless, but the listener was attentive. Su Yi’an’s hand tightened around her phone, veins popping, her face turning black as coal. She glared at He Xia as if she were about to devour her. “Let me say it again: I have an Omega I like. Also… I am NOT fast!”
If she hadn’t read those novels last night, she wouldn’t have understood the double entendre of that sentence.
“Okay, okay! I said the wrong thing!” The mental pressure from an S-class Alpha nearly suffocated He Xia, who hurriedly begged for mercy.
In this world, Alphas and Omegas were divided into four ranks: S (top-tier), A, B, and C. The higher the rank, the higher the IQ and mental strength (for Alphas) or fertility (for Omegas). He Xia thought she was rare as an A-rank Alpha, but on her first day, she had run into a top-tier S-rank beauty. Truly, comparisons are odious, she thought. If Su Yi’an hadn’t released her mental pressure, she wouldn’t have even noticed.
Fortunately, this person looked quite poor based on her clothes. If I can’t beat her on merit, I can still beat her with my parents’ wealth, He Xia consoled herself.
The two were silent for a while. Seeing Su Yi’an heading out, He Xia asked in surprise, “Where are you going?”
Su Yi’an didn’t look back. “Finding a part-time job.”
Confirmed, she’s poor! He Xia’s sense of superiority returned, and her eyes lit up. She chased after her, trying to put an arm around Su Yi’an’s shoulder. “No rush for a job. Meeting is fate. Let’s grab a meal later to celebrate becoming roommates.”
Su Yi’an dodged her quickly, her frown deep enough to crush a mosquito. “I’m not hungry. Eat by yourself!”
He Xia nearly tripped when she missed. She wasn’t angry; stabilizing herself, she continued, “Come on, my treat!” She had heard the university cafeteria was cheap—less than six yuan a meal. Seeing her new roommate was so pretty yet struggling so hard, she didn’t mind treated her to a few meals.
“No thanks!” Su Yi’an rejected her again and fled the apartment as if a venomous snake were chasing her.
He Xia watched her hurried figure and rubbed her chin. “Tsk, quite the strong sense of self-respect.” She liked this roommates with integrity.
Su Yi’an had already mapped the route. The bar owned by Lan Yan’s cousin wasn’t far from Beijing University. A direct bus took only half an hour. However, because of He Xia’s delay, she missed the most recent bus and the next one wasn’t for an hour.
If she insisted on the bus, she’d miss the interview. Wanting to maintain her new “poor student” persona, she almost hesitated, but eventually had to compromise her image and hailed a taxi.
Ten minutes later, Su Yi’an asked the driver to stop a short distance from the bar. As she stepped out, she suddenly saw a familiar figure entering the bar. She hurriedly tossed a hundred-yuan bill to the driver and chased after the figure.
“Keep the change!”
Talk about finding something without even looking. We meet again, Sister Grape!
