The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 70
Chapter 70
The back alley where He Xia had been taken was a ten-minute walk from where Lan Yan had parked her car.
After getting out of the car, Su Yi’an carefully stole a glance at Lan Yan’s expression. She leaned in and gently took her hand. “I’m sorry, Sister.”
She knew Lan Yan disliked the formal “Little Aunt” title she’d used on the phone, but she hadn’t wanted to explain their relationship to Lan Yin right then and there. More than that, she feared that if she spoke her true feelings in front of her sister, she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from announcing their relationship to the world.
Feeling the slight sweat and tremor in the Alpha’s hand, the frustration in Lan Yan’s heart dissipated. She reached into the car, pulled out a box of grapes she had prepared earlier, and handed them to Su Yi’an. “Eat some. They’re washed.”
The box was chilled, and the grapes were plump and glistening with water droplets. To Su Yi’an, anything given by her Sister was the best in the world.
“Thank you, Sister.”
Overjoyed, Su Yi’an tucked the grapes into her bag and pulled out the box of pastries she had made a few hours ago. “Sister, I made these. Try them.”
As she took them out, she didn’t even let go of Lan Yan’s hand. She used her injured hand to maneuver the box with surprising dexterity. Lan Yan was initially worried about the injury, but her attention was immediately stolen by the transparent box.
Inside were delicate, chubby little white rabbits and fierce-looking but adorable little wolves. Lan Yan’s heart melted at the sight.
“Does Sister not like them?” Su Yi’an asked, feeling a bit dejected when Lan Yan didn’t speak immediately.
“No, I love them.”
Lan Yan came back to her senses and took out a rabbit-shaped milk cake. Before it even reached her mouth, the fragrance hit her. It was perfectly sweet, soft but not greasy. “It’s delicious,” she said, reaching for a wolf-shaped date cake next.
She hadn’t eaten much at lunch and was quite hungry. The pastries suited her palate perfectly. Wolves and rabbits again, Lan Yan thought. Is she hinting at something? Does she want me to be as ‘fierce’ as a wolf? Looking at the clean, fair face of her little Alpha, Lan Yan’s ears turned red.
She felt a sudden urge to pinch the “Good Rabbit’s” cheeks, but she restrained herself as they neared the school gate where crowds of students were emerging. She let go of Su Yi’an’s hand and maintained a distance of two paces.
As they walked, Su Yi’an noticed Lan Yan’s gait was still slightly unnatural. Feeling a mix of heat and guilt, she leaned in and whispered, “Is Sister still feeling unwell?”
She regretted letting Lan Yan drive. Lan Yan’s legs were already “injured,” and after a wild night, she shouldn’t have been walking this much.
Lan Yan stiffened, realizing a “bug” in her story—if her foot was truly injured, she shouldn’t have been driving. She cleared her throat. “Actually, after the massage last night, my foot feels much better. Let’s go.”
Su Yi’an paused. If her foot is better, does that mean I don’t get to give her a foot massage tonight? How am I going to find an excuse to sleep in her bed? She cursed her own big mouth for “healing” the excuse that gave her benefits. She could only hope the broken bed in the guest room hadn’t been fixed yet.
The “Rescue” and the Drunken Roommate
They reached the alley to find a scene far different from a kidnapping. He Xia wasn’t being harmed; she was sitting at a street stall, face flushed red, drinking beer and eating grilled skewers with the group of Alphas who had “taken” her.
“Little Aunt, Senior Su!” Lan Yin and her friends greeted them.
Su Yi’an looked at the carefree He Xia, and the veins on her forehead throbbed. This is being ‘taken away’? She wasted my private time with Sister for this?
The drunken Alphas were lecturing He Xia: “Sister, tell your roommate—what’s wrong with our little brother? He’s a catch! If she marries him, our family will provide the car and the house!”
He Xia giggled drunkenly. “Too late! Sister Su already has an Omega she likes. They’re probably living together! She’s getting married soon, tell your brother to give up!”
The male Omega, who hadn’t been drinking, cried out, “I don’t believe it! Not unless she brings her girlfriend here! Sister Su was staring at me in class, she must like me!”
Under the cover of her long hair, Su Yi’an’s ears turned red. She secretly reached out and squeezed Lan Yan’s hand behind her back. She desperately wanted to pull Lan Yan forward and say, ‘This is my girlfriend,’ but she knew she couldn’t.
Fed up with the drunks, Su Yi’an whispered in Lan Yan’s ear, “Sister, let’s go home.”
“Home?” The word made Lan Yan daze for a moment. Had the little Alpha already started thinking of their place as home?
Before she could respond, the male Omega screamed, “She’s here!”
The drunken Alphas blocked Su Yi’an’s path. “Why are you rejecting our brother? He’s strong! He could give you ten Alpha babies! You look like a pretty boy who can’t even carry a bag, we think you aren’t good enough for him!”
The male Omega sniffled. “Brother, don’t scare her. I just want to know if she really has a girlfriend.”
“Yeah! If you have a girlfriend, call her out! Let’s see how our brother lost!”
Su Yi’an couldn’t take it anymore. She reached up, peeled back the band-aid on her neck for just a few seconds, and revealed a vivid, perfect red lipstick mark. “See this? My girlfriend left this today.”
The male Omega wailed in despair. “Then why were you staring at me in class?!”
Lan Yan’s eyes narrowed slightly. A cold chill emanated from her. Su Yi’an stiffened and quickly explained, “I was looking out the window, thinking about something. I wasn’t looking at you. I only like looking at my girlfriend.”
The male Omega ran away crying, and his siblings chased after him.
Lan Yin approached them, looking thoughtful. “Little Aunt, you were about to say…” She had been close enough to hear Lan Yan start to say “I am…” before Su Yi’an cut her off with the lipstick mark.
Lan Yan kept her composure and smiled thinly. “I was just saying… I can’t stand these students. They should be studying, not worrying about romance.”
Inside, Lan Yan was dying of embarrassment. She had left that mark on Su Yi’an’s neck on a whim this morning, and Su Yi’an had actually kept it.
The “Girlfriend’s” Treat
As the drama settled, the group realized He Xia was too drunk to walk back. The younger students looked at Su Yi’an. “Senior Su, you’re the only Alpha here. Can you take He Xia back to the dorm?”
Su Yi’an’s face went cold. She didn’t want to touch the smelly, drunken He Xia; she wanted to be with her Sister.
He Xia stumbled over, shouting, “Who’s drunk? Not me! Sister Su, when are you going to bring your girlfriend to treat us to dinner? Oh, Little Aunt is here too! Little Aunt, don’t be mad, people on the forum said you and Sister Su are a couple, but I scolded them for you! Hehe!”
Lan Yan: “…” I’m not mad. I even secretly liked that post.
He Xia continued to ramble. “Sister Su, you’re living with her already, aren’t you going to introduce her?”
Su Yi’an’s knuckles cracked from clenching her fists.
Lan Yan suddenly laughed. “I’ll treat everyone to dinner.”
Since being the “girlfriend” of a little Alpha apparently required treating her friends to a meal, Lan Yan decided to take the opportunity to celebrate officially being with her Rabbit. They went to a nearby hot pot restaurant.
Su Yi’an immediately dumped He Xia into a chair and sat as close to Lan Yan as possible, soaking in her scent to wash away the smell of the drunk roommate. Under the table, out of sight of the students who viewed Lan Yan as a “dignified elder,” Lan Yan reached out and took Su Yi’an’s hand.
During the meal, Lan Yan whispered to Lan Yin, “Who is it that you like?”
Lan Yin shook her head firmly. “No one, Little Aunt. That was just an excuse to break my arranged engagement.” She thought of the “idiot” movie star Chen Zhi, who had sent her a photo of an empty dish soap bottle and a pathetic apology for kissing her. She nearly laughed out loud.
The “Broken” Bed
By 7 PM, the dinner was over. Su Yi’an told the group she was going to stay with her “girlfriend” and chased after Lan Yan. “Thank you, Sister. Can I drive us back?”
“Of course,” Lan Yan smiled, getting into the passenger seat.
Back at the apartment, both felt “dirty” from the restaurant smell. Lan Yan went to the master bedroom to shower, while Su Yi’an used the guest bathroom.
Su Yi’an finished quickly. She walked over to the guest bedroom, intending to “sabotage” the bed if it had been fixed. She wasn’t sure if Lan Yan would let her sleep in the main bed again after only one day of being official.
As she reached for the handle, Lan Yan emerged from the master bedroom in a robe, her hair damp. “What are you doing?”
Su Yi’an retracted her hand guiltily. “I… I wanted to see if the guest bed was fixed.”
Lan Yan’s gaze flickered. “It’s not.”
It won’t be fixed. Ever, Lan Yan thought. The bed isn’t even broken, but does this Rabbit really want to sleep separately now that we’re a couple? I can’t bring myself to invite her to my bed out loud…
Su Yi’an cheered internally. She walked over to Lan Yan’s side. “I’ll dry your hair for you. And then… I should massage your foot again. Dr. Jiang said it needs many days of treatment to fully recover.”
Regardless of whether the foot was healed, Su Yi’an was determined to have her “benefits.”
