The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Su Yi’an went to a very famous pastry shop near the school. She spent over an hour making a box of milk cakes and date cakes. They were only in two colors: brown and white. The white ones were shaped like little rabbits, and the brown ones were shaped like wolves. They looked adorable. After filling a whole box, there was quite a lot left over. Both the owner and the pastry chef tasted them and gave her a thumbs-up.
The owner was an easygoing man. Seeing Su Yi’an about to leave with the food box, he smiled and said, “Seeing how much heart you put into this, you made these for your sweetheart, right?”
Su Yi’an nodded, and a smile as warm as a spring breeze appeared on her usually expressionless face.
The owner tasted another piece of the little rabbit milk cake and sighed sincerely, “Then your sweetheart is truly lucky.”
After finishing the pastry, seeing that Su Yi’an was about to walk out of the kitchen, the owner said with regret, “Are you really not considering coming to help out at my shop?”
“No, thank you for today, Boss,” Su Yi’an replied without looking back.
The owner waved his hand. This was the first time he had met a customer who paid a high price just to borrow the kitchen to make their own pastries. The key issue was that she made them even better than the chefs in his shop. Although a large part of the money was paid to keep him quiet, he wasn’t a meddlesome person to begin with; he wouldn’t have talked even without the money.
This little Alpha was probably doing it to please some Omega. Young people nowadays really know romance, unlike his own partner; in all their years of marriage, he hadn’t even received a single bouquet of flowers. It was truly maddening to compare people.
Su Yi’an walked out of the shop and paused, her eyes darkening slightly as she watched two people entangled across the street. It had been a long time since she had seen Zhan Ming and Jiang Dong. She hadn’t expected them to still be entangled despite her people keeping an eye on them. Lately, she had been so intoxicated by “Sister’s” gentleness that she had almost forgotten about these two.
Originally, she didn’t want to meddle in Zhan Ming’s affairs, especially romantic ones. However, since she was bound to the System, and the System forbade Zhan Ming from being a “freeloader” (eating soft rice), she had no choice but to play the villain. Fortunately, every recent contact between Zhan Ming and Jiang Dong had been thwarted by her people.
She had completed many tasks, large and small, and her points had reached 150 enough to redeem many items in the mall. She just didn’t know what Zhan Ming and Jiang Dong were doing now; they seemed to be having an argument.
Su Yi’an watched for a while, and seeing her people stepping forward to pull Zhan Ming away, she lost interest. She packed the pastries into her backpack and headed back into the school. She was no longer at risk of death; as long as it was something her subordinates could handle, she didn’t want to show her face.
Not wanting to waste too much energy on Zhan Ming, Su Yi’an asked the System: “Little Crybaby, how much longer until Zhan Ming succeeds?”
She had given him so much support lately. Someone as smart and savvy as Zhan Ming should be able to turn his fortunes around soon. Once he passed the timeline of becoming successful in his career, it wouldn’t count as “eating soft rice” no matter who he was with. Then, she could stop caring about him entirely and focus on marrying Sister and having children.
Although she wasn’t paying much attention to him now, it remained a hidden danger as long as the matter wasn’t resolved.
The System stammered: “According to the original plot, it would take at least five years. As for how things are recently, Host should ask your own people.”
It admitted it was a useless System and didn’t know much most of the time, but which brand-new System was that powerful? It was currently working hard to learn knowledge in the System forum.
Su Yi’an: “…”
As she walked, she suddenly thought of the physical discomfort her Sister was experiencing. With a stir of her mind, she silently opened the mall. After searching for a long time, she finally found a medicine in the farthest corner that was most suitable for her Sister. One tube cost ten points. Su Yi’an didn’t feel the sting and redeemed five tubes at once. The only worry was how to give the medicine to Sister. Of course, it would be best if she could help Sister apply it.
Thinking of this, Su Yi’an’s entire face turned beet red, looking like it was from the sun, but not entirely.
The System was dumbfounded and couldn’t help but speak up to remind her: “Host, why did you redeem so much of this medicine? It’s of no use for your own injuries.”
Fifty whole points it took a long time to save those by completing several tasks. If the Host didn’t feel the sting, the System did. The manual said the medicine was specifically for newlywed women, used to nourish the body and increase marital affection. Although it didn’t understand what that meant, the Host hadn’t even finished pursuing the person yet, let alone being newlyweds; she really had no use for this medicine.
Had something happened that it didn’t know about when it was forced offline last night? Probably not. The Host and Lan Yan seemed a bit closer this morning than usual, but there was nothing too abnormal. As a responsible System, it felt obligated to remind the Host.
Su Yi’an ignored the System. She naturally knew the medicine was useless for her, but it was of great use to Sister. After Sister used it, she wouldn’t feel discomfort anymore and would even feel more pleasure. It was only fifty points; she could afford it.
Cough… Actually, at the beginning, she hadn’t expected the points she earned from tasks to be spent on this.
The afternoon classes were truly agonizing; she missed Sister again. Just as she stepped into the classroom on the dot, Su Yi’an looked at her silent phone, her heart already elsewhere. Consequently, during class, she spent a long time staring blankly at one spot.
Su Yi’an’s gaze was actually fixed on the trees outside the window, but a male Omega happened to be sitting by the window. He thought Su Yi’an was looking at him and blushed, but he couldn’t help stealing a few glances back at her. This was the best-looking Alpha in the whole class; who wouldn’t like her? To be looked at so affectionately, he liked it too.
The male Omega curved his fingers daintily, picked up a pen, and quickly wrote a letter. While the lecturing professor wasn’t looking, he asked a classmate to pass the note to Su Yi’an.
He Xia was sitting next to Su Yi’an. She took the piece of paper from someone else and looked at the male Omega who was winking toward them he was as round as a ball. Her expression was somewhat hard to describe. She knew the letter was for Su Yi’an because the person who passed it said so.
“Sister Su, stop dazing off.”
He Xia nudged Su Yi’an and placed the letter in her hand: “If you keep looking, someone else is going to write you a love letter.”
Sister Su was acting strange today, smiling from time to time. That tenderness in her eyes tsk tsk it was no wonder she could charm so many Omegas in the class into being restless. If He Xia weren’t an Alpha herself, with pheromones that naturally repelled each other, she might have drowned in that expression too.
Although the expression on Su Yi’an’s face wasn’t very obvious, as the roommate who experienced her cold face the most, He Xia could still see the subtle change, especially since she was sitting so close. Therefore, she felt Su Yi’an must have encountered something good, likely related to the Omega she claimed to like. This was why Su Yi’an didn’t even care when people online were gossiping about her and “Little Aunt.”
Su Yi’an suddenly snapped back to reality. She also saw the Omega classmate who was winking at her, and goosebumps almost popped up on her arms. It wasn’t because she thought the Omega was ugly; it was mainly because she strongly disliked any ambiguity with anyone other than Sister.
Su Yi’an didn’t take or look at the love letter He Xia handed over. She turned her head, sat up straight, and listened to the lecture seriously.
He Xia, holding the love letter and being glared at by that Omega: “…”
She shook her head at the Omega, feeling like she was holding a hot potato. She stuffed the letter into the desk, waiting to bolt as soon as class ended. Sister Su wouldn’t take it, and she didn’t dare force it on her. She also didn’t dare keep it on her own person; if Zeng Wei found out, there would never be peace again. The key issue was that Zeng Wei said she had “eyes” in the class; if He Xia dared to do anything to betray her, Zeng Wei would “snip off” her glands.
Although she knew Zeng Wei wouldn’t really snip them off, she was still afraid. As an Alpha, she shouldn’t be so fickle as to cause misunderstandings with her girlfriend.
He Xia’s action, however, made the male Omega burst into tears for no reason. In the end, He Xia, the male Omega, and Su Yi’an were all kicked out of the classroom together. The professor had a good temper and didn’t scold them, merely suggesting kindly that they resolve their personal emotional issues before coming back to class.
Su Yi’an: “…” He Xia: “…”
The male Omega looked at Su Yi’an with shining eyes and said in a thin, soft voice, trying to grab her arm: “Student Su, I’ve liked you for a long time too. Many Alphas pursued me and I didn’t agree, but now I’m agreeing to you. I’ll be your boyfriend.”
He was fair and chubby, not exactly ugly, and tears were still hanging on his face.
Su Yi’an was so startled she retreated several steps, her voice slightly distorted: “I have a girlfriend, and we are getting married soon. I love her very much.” To prevent the male Omega from pouncing again, she emphasized the last part.
The male Omega’s mouth slumped, and he burst into tears again.
When she saw Sister shed tears, Su Yi’an would feel heartache or be entranced; seeing another Omega cry so daintily only made her feel irritable. But she said nothing, only silently retreating further to the side. Usually, people gave her love letters or asked for her WeChat, and she rejected them all. She didn’t understand how she had provoked this person; she was simply thinking of Sister.
He Xia, on the other hand, felt a bit lost. She offered a dry word of comfort to the Omega: “There are plenty of fish in the sea. Sister Su already has someone in her heart, so don’t be too sad. You’ll find your own Alpha in the future.”
They were all classmates, and they were standing outside the classroom; He Xia didn’t want to make things look too bad. Little did she know that her advice would only earn her a fierce glare from the male Omega: “It’s all your fault! Just you wait!”
He Xia: “…” She wished she could slap herself a few times. Her girlfriend had warned her to stay out of other people’s business; why couldn’t she remember?
None of the three realized that the scene of the male Omega passing the love letter had been posted to the school forum by a busybody in the class. Within a short time, it climbed to the hot search list, and even more students were constantly bumping the thread. It was a solid wall of “Hahaha,” with a few people asking for Su Yi’an’s personal information.
The three people outside fell silent at the same time. Soon, the professor called them back in.
This incident didn’t leave a deep impression on Su Yi’an. She wouldn’t waste much thought on such boring matters. By the time the last class of the afternoon was almost over, she had basically forgotten about it. Especially when she received a message that Sister was already waiting outside the school gate, she wished she could fly to Sister’s side immediately.
As soon as class ended, Su Yi’an didn’t even acknowledge He Xia’s greeting and walked straight out of the school. Sister said she was waiting for her in the alley where they used to park.
“Hey, Sister Su, aren’t you going to eat?” He Xia picked up her books and shook her head as she watched Su Yi’an’s disappearing back. Zeng Wei had taken leave to go home today, and she had been thinking of inviting Sister Su to dinner, but who knew she would leave in such a hurry. However, Su Yi’an was spending less and less time at school; He Xia was almost getting used to it.
He Xia was about to head to the cafeteria when she bumped into the male Omega from earlier. Behind him were several sturdy Alphas; they clearly came with ill intent. He Xia’s legs felt a bit weak, but she tried her best to hold her ground: “What’s going on?”
One of the Alphas put an arm around He Xia, smiling but not really smiling: “Nothing much. We heard you were the one who disturbed our little brother’s romance earlier. Come, let’s talk.”
He Xia’s face changed, and she struggled repeatedly: “No, no, how would I dare disturb someone’s romance?”
The Alphas didn’t care about He Xia’s protests. They grabbed her and walked. To prevent others from noticing, they acted like normal friends messing around, successfully dragging He Xia out of the school.
After receiving Lan Yan’s message, Su Yi’an walked to the parking spot at her fastest speed. Because she walked so quickly, a fine sweat broke out on her fair face. When she reached the car, Su Yi’an felt nervous again. She raised her hand, about to knock on the car door, when the window suddenly opened. A faint fragrance drifted into her nose from inside.
Sister was still as charming as when she had left this morning, though the makeup on her lips was a bit lighter, making one want to taste them even more. Perhaps because she was alone in the car, Lan Yan had already removed the silk scarf from her neck. Those marks were still very obvious, making Su Yi’an’s eyes burn with heat for a moment, almost forgetting to get in the car.
The fragrance wafting to her nose wasn’t the grape scent of Sister’s pheromones, nor the minty scent of the Pheromone-Concealer (Lian Xiang), but a sweet orange scent she hadn’t smelled on Sister before. It seemed to drift from Sister’s slightly parted red lips. Su Yi’an shifted her gaze and saw Lan Yan’s hand moving away from a small bottle of orange candies. Clearly, Sister had just eaten one before she arrived.
It must be very sweet. Su Yi’an looked at Lan Yan’s lips and swallowed hard.
Lan Yan didn’t actually like candy. These were bought by the secretary when she drove the car over and were left inside. While waiting for the little Alpha, she felt a bit bored and happened to see the candy, so she thought she’d try one. Mainly because she often saw advertisements for this candy on TV something about “fresh breath” and being “sweet as honey with your partner.” She didn’t remember the details clearly, but that was the gist of it. So, on a whim, she tried one.
It really was quite sweet. Even after the candy was gone, she could still feel a hint of sweetness in her mouth. Seeing her “Rabbit” staring intensely at her lips, Lan Yan felt a surge of heat in her heart. She looked away slightly, pretending not to notice: “Get in.”
“Okay.” Su Yi’an snapped out of it and immediately opened the door to sit in the passenger seat.
Lan Yan didn’t start the car immediately. Instead, she closed the window. Without looking at Su Yi’an, she put her hand back on the bottle of orange candies: “Want a candy?”
Her voice was softer than ever, indescribably enticing. Inside the enclosed car, it suddenly became incredibly hot. Su Yi’an was so hot she couldn’t sit still; sweat from her forehead slid down her temples and into her clean white T-shirt. She did indeed want candy, but she wanted to eat the one from Sister’s mouth.
Su Yi’an was too embarrassed to say it. She clenched her palms nervously, looking very constrained. However, when Lan Yan looked over, she immediately sat up straight and nodded honestly.
Lan Yan laughed. She was laughing at her “Good Rabbit.” She was already teasing her so much, yet her Rabbit still wouldn’t give her a kiss. It was hard to imagine that the usually well-behaved Rabbit had been so “bad” last night so well-behaved that she hit the softest spot in her heart, yet so “bad” that it reached the depths of her soul.
“Then have one.” Lan Yan retracted her smile slightly, leaned closer to Su Yi’an, and handed the bottle of orange candies to her.
Thump-thump, thump-thump.
As the two drew closer, their hearts beat louder and louder in the quiet car. Su Yi’an’s palms, holding the orange candies, also began to sweat. She suddenly grabbed Lan Yan’s shoulder as she leaned in, her eyes burning as she stared into Lan Yan’s eyes, then moved to those slightly dry lips: “Sister, I want…”
She felt like she was dying of thirst and needed Sister to save her.
“Mmh.” The corners of Lan Yan’s eyes secretly flushed with a layer of enchanting red, her gaze slightly shimmering she was beautiful beyond words. She teased her on purpose: “What do you want, Rabbit?”
The marks on her neck, however, exposed the fact that she had already been pulled down into the mortal world of passion.
Su Yi’an could no longer hold back. The two leaned closer and closer. Just as they were about to kiss, a loud phone ringtone interrupted the moment. The ringtone belonged to Su Yi’an; a vein popped on her forehead, and she didn’t want to answer.
But her Sister stopped her from going further. As she pulled away, she stuffed an orange candy into Su Yi’an’s mouth: “Answer the phone, Rabbit.”
Su Yi’an’s mouth was full of the candy. It was sweet to her heart, but she still felt it lacked a bit of flavor—Sister’s flavor. This candy wasn’t as sweet as Sister’s lips. But after all, it was given by Sister, so it was delicious. Su Yi’an calmed her breathing, and the displeasure of being interrupted dissipated a little.
She took out the phone and saw that it was the little niece calling. Lan Yan didn’t go out of her way to look at the phone, but the little Alpha didn’t hide it from her, so with a casual glance, she saw it too.
The heat in the car vanished instantly, and even a faint chill arose. Su Yi’an carefully glanced at Sister. Seeing no change in her expression, she answered the call: “Hello?”
She pressed the speaker button. Although it was the little niece, she was afraid Sister would misunderstand, so it was better to speak openly. Anyway, she didn’t want to hide anything more from Sister now. Moreover, she and the little niece were perfectly innocent; if there was trouble, it was between Chen Zhi and the little niece. It was just that Chen Zhi hadn’t bothered her and Sister, so she didn’t want to bother Chen Zhi, even though she knew Chen Zhi’s method of pursuing someone was wrong.
But the little niece didn’t know the relationship between Chen Zhi and her. It would be too strange if she called about romantic matters. Whenever it involved Lan Yan, Su Yi’an couldn’t help but let her thoughts wander.
However, before she could figure it out, Lan Yin’s voice came through: “Senior Su, He Xia was taken by a few Alphas to the second back alley of the school. I don’t know exactly why, but I heard it’s because she disturbed a certain Omega in your class from pursuing you, so they took her away… This matter is spreading like wildfire on the school forum. Senior Su, do you know about this?”
Someone pursuing her Rabbit? Lan Yan narrowed her eyes slightly, the smile on the corners of her mouth freezing. Her Rabbit was indeed very popular at school.
Hearing this, Su Yi’an’s first reaction wasn’t to worry about He Xia, but to instinctively look at Sister beside her. She covered the phone, moved it away, and proactively explained: “An Omega in class today misunderstood that I was looking at him. He wrote me a love letter, but I didn’t take it. He Xia threw the letter into a desk. I assume it’s because of this. Sister, look…”
A smile reappeared on Lan Yan’s face: “Saving people is more important. I’ll go with you.”
Actually, knowing someone coveted her Rabbit made her unhappy, but with Rabbit’s sincere explanation, how could she hold a grudge? It was normal for someone as good-looking and well-behaved as Rabbit to be liked by many. However, Rabbit belonged to her. Thinking of this, Lan Yan felt a strange sense of pride.
Hearing this, Su Yi’an was slightly stunned: “Sister, Lan Yin and the others are there too. Sister isn’t afraid they’ll…”
Lan Yan: “It’s fine. I’m going to see Lan Yin.” She wasn’t afraid of them knowing her relationship with the little Alpha; she was only afraid their relationship wouldn’t be good for the little Alpha. Besides, they could say it was a chance encounter. Regardless, she had sent a message to Lan Yin earlier saying she was coming to the school to see her.
But before seeing the little niece, she wanted to be close to her Rabbit. That was why she had messaged Rabbit first upon arrival, rather than the little niece.
Su Yi’an also thought of this and breathed a slight sigh of relief. She wasn’t afraid of others knowing her relationship with Sister either, but she didn’t want Sister to be in a difficult position. Someone as dignified as Sister would surely be upset if Lan Yin and those students looked at them with strange eyes. The two of them were looking out for each other in mutual understanding.
With this delay, Lan Yin’s side became a bit anxious: “Senior Su, Senior Su, are you listening? Those Alphas are now demanding to see you. Never mind, I’ll take people over first.”
It was just a minor conflict between students; it hadn’t reached the point of calling the police. If those students didn’t do anything wrong, there was no need to ruin their futures. Those people probably wouldn’t dare do anything to He Xia. Lan Yin was anxious only because she was being pressured by Zeng Wei.
Su Yi’an: “I’ll be there right away.” She paused, and before the call was cut off, she suddenly said to the air: “Little Aunt, why are you here? Are you looking for Student Lan Yin?”
Lan Yin was about to hang up the phone, and hearing this, she was delighted: “Has Little Aunt come too?”
Su Yi’an didn’t answer and hung up first.
Lan Yan: “…”
Just now you were kissing me so urgently, and now you call me ‘Little Aunt’. This title… why does it make me want to hit Rabbit so much?
She’d settle the score properly after they got home.
