The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 62
Chapter 62
The “Ghost Hole” was less a cave and more of a deep earthen pit, about the height of two people. In the dim light and overgrown weeds, it looked like a bottomless abyss from above, though it was less intimidating from below.
With Su Yi’an’s agility, she shouldn’t have been injured, but to protect Lan Yan, she had turned herself into a human shield. She took the brunt of the fall, her hand slamming against a jagged rock at the bottom of the pit. The pain was so intense it felt numb.
Su Yi’an gritted her teeth, refusing to let out a groan. The moment she caught her breath, she asked urgently, “Sister, are you okay?”
Despite her high pain tolerance, her voice trembled slightly.
With Su Yi’an protecting her, Lan Yan was largely unharmed, save for a small red scratch on her face from a branch and a lingering sense of shock. However, she had seen Su Yi’an’s hand hit the rock. Her heart ached more than her body. “I’m fine. What about you?”
In the moment they fell, Lan Yan had genuinely thought they might die. The first images that flashed through her mind weren’t of her family, but of every moment she had shared with the little Alpha since they met.
They say that before you die, you see the person you care about most. Does this mean I’ve truly developed those feelings for her? Lan Yan didn’t dare dwell on it. She scrambled up and grabbed her fallen bag, her hands shaking as she searched for medicine. They had brought plenty of wound treatments, all packed in Su Yi’an’s backpack.
However, the more panicked she became, the harder it was to find what she needed.
Su Yi’an was still in pain, but she could move now. Seeing Lan Yan’s distress, she realized her Sister must have seen her hand hit the stone. She forced herself up and walked over. “Sister, it’s okay. For someone who studies martial arts, this little injury is nothing.”
Back home, she was injured often, but doctors were always on hand to provide immediate pain relief. Now, she had to endure it to keep Lan Yan from worrying.
Seeing Lan Yan about to reach into the hidden compartment of the bag—where certain “personal” items were kept—Su Yi’an’s heart nearly stopped. She didn’t think twice; she used her uninjured hand to press down on Lan Yan’s hand. “Sister…”
The moment they touched, a spark seemed to leap into Lan Yan’s heart. The images from the fall replayed in her mind. Her Rabbit wasn’t just clever; she provided an overwhelming sense of security. At the moment Su Yi’an had pulled her close and rolled to take the impact, Lan Yan felt her heart had been given to this girl.
Lan Yan’s face flushed. She lowered her gaze, still focused on the injury. “Where did you put the medicine?” The little Alpha’s hand was already bruised and swollen; it looked horrific. How could she say it was “nothing”?
She always does this, Lan Yan thought. She tries to carry everything herself to avoid troubling others. I hate that about her… because it makes my heart ache so much.
The heat from their joined hands spread to Su Yi’an’s heart. She dazed for a moment before answering sheepishly, “The outermost pocket of the backpack.”
Su Yi’an felt that smelling her Sister’s pheromones was better than any painkiller. Maybe if Sister kissed me, it would work better than the medicine. For lovers, pheromones are the best healing agent. Unfortunately, she didn’t dare say that out loud. She could only imagine it.
As Lan Yan meticulously applied the medicine, Su Yi’an noticed the red scratch on her Sister’s cheek. She took a cotton swab and gently dabbed some antiseptic on it. Lan Yan paused. This mutual doctoring felt… far too intimate.
As the little Alpha leaned in, Lan Yan could smell her pheromones drifting toward her own neck. Her eyes flickered with panic. Before Su Yi’an, she hadn’t liked Alphas and knew nothing of romance, but she was a brilliant woman. She was smart enough to realize she was falling for her—and fast.
We’ve known each other for less than a month. Am I really this smitten? She reasoned that any Omega would love such an excellent, “obedient” Rabbit. She decided she needed to be the “bad sister” who lured the Rabbit home, but she still didn’t know the little Alpha’s true heart. Maybe I should go slow so I don’t scare her. She might only be protecting me because of the contract.
Being a CEO, Lan Yan regained her composure quickly. She maintained a neutral face and asked casually, “What are your thoughts on our… agreement?”
She meant to ask: Shall we change our relationship? Do you want to be my girlfriend? But looking at the vibrant, much younger Alpha, she couldn’t bring herself to be so direct. She put on a stern face to hide her vulnerability.
Su Yi’an, however, completely misread the tone. Her face went pale, and her lips trembled. “Sister… do you want to terminate the contract? Did I do something wrong? Did I make you angry?”
“You can deduct my pay!” Su Yi’an’s hands clenched behind her back, her eyes rimming with red. Don’t send me away. Give me a chance to stay by your side.
She feared her recent intimacy had crossed a line, or that the trip with Lan Yin had made Lan Yan self-conscious about their age gap. Have I really not reached her heart at all?
Lan Yan’s breath hitched. “No… I was just asking.”
She felt a pang of bitterness. So she only cares about the contract. Is it for the money? It’s certainly not for me. It was a bit pathetic—a sponsor falling for her “contract Alpha,” who also happened to be her niece’s classmate.
The two fell into a stalemate. The “Ghost Hole” became terrifyingly silent. Su Yi’an didn’t dare speak for fear of losing the contract, while Lan Yan was plotting how to “pursue” the girl for real.
Lan Yan recalled a scene from a TV drama. Young people like ‘Overbearing CEOs,’ don’t they? I could do that… but a muddy pit isn’t the best place for a ‘wall-slam’ (kabedon). Just thinking about pinning the little Alpha against a wall and kissing her made Lan Yan’s ears burn.
To break the tension, Lan Yan asked, “How do we get out?”
“Let me think…” Su Yi’an looked away, embarrassed at being caught staring. She decided she needed to back off a little; she didn’t want to alarm her Sister.
Su Yi’an checked her phone no signal. She told Lan Yan, who replied, “No signal here. We’ll have to wait for Lan Yin and the others to find us.”
Actually, Lan Yan had only asked the question to distract her. She found the little Alpha’s total obedience adorable. She really was a “bad sister” for wanting to lead this “white rabbit” astray.
Suddenly, a beam of light shone from above. “Little Aunt? Senior Su? Are you down there?” It was Zeng Wei and the others. They had realized the two were missing and doubled back.
A rope was lowered. “It’s too dark to see! Can you grab the rope? we’ll pull you up!”
The rope was a bit short; they would have to jump to reach it. Su Yi’an worried. Jumping will be tiring for Sister. Should I just carry her up? But will that make her angry?
After calling back to He Xia, Su Yi’an looked at Lan Yan, her lips parting to speak, but she hesitated.
Lan Yan looked at the rope. Her ears turned red as she fought her shame. She bit her lip and said, “I think I sprained my ankle. I can’t get up.”
“Sprained?!” Su Yi’an’s face transformed. Forget the rope; she was at Lan Yan’s side in two steps. “Sit down, let me look!”
She shouted up to the others, “Wait a moment, something happened!”
Lan Yan felt her face heat up all the way to her neck. She wasn’t used to lying. She had only wanted the little Alpha to carry her up to reach the rope, but Su Yi’an took it so seriously.
Lan Yan sat on the ground and slowly removed her shoe and sock. Her feet were pale and delicate—having spent most of her life in an office. Her toes curled shyly.
Su Yi’an knelt and gently pressed her foot. “Does it hurt here?” She watched Lan Yan’s face intensely, terrified of hurting her.
Lan Yan’s blush deepened. She shook her head, then realized that didn’t fit the “injury,” so she nodded quickly. Being touched like this felt… strange. She didn’t know how a “sprained” person should act. Should she make a sound? That wasn’t her style.
Her eyes grew moist from the heat and nerves, which Su Yi’an mistook for tears of pain. Su Yi’an applied some ointment with extreme gentleness.
Before her pheromones could spiral out of control from the intimacy, Lan Yan pressed Su Yi’an’s hand. “It feels better. Let’s go.”
“Are you sure? We should see Dr. Jiang when we get out.”
“No need. It’ll be fine soon.”
Su Yi’an didn’t dare argue. She carefully put Lan Yan’s sock and shoe back on. Even among married couples, this level of service was rare. Lan Yan was overwhelmed by the gesture. Does she have any idea what this implies?
“I… I can do it myself,” Lan Yan’s voice wobbled.
“You’re injured,” Su Yi’an insisted, tying the laces into a clumsy butterfly bow. “I only know how to tie them this one way, Sister.”
Lan Yan stared at the ugly bow. She had lied about her foot, not her hands she wasn’t incapacitated. But the little Alpha seemed oblivious to the fact that they had exceeded “contractual” intimacy.
“I’ll carry you up on my back,” Su Yi’an said, kneeling in front of her. She was too worried about the “injury” to care about boundaries.
Lan Yan looked at her strong back and smiled, but then hesitated. “The rope might not hold two people.” She didn’t want Su Yi’an to get hurt further. The girl had already hurt her glands, her head, her arm, and now her hand for Lan Yan’s sake. Lan Yan felt like a jinx.
Su Yi’an shouted up, “Can you pull two people?”
He Xia shouted back that they had five people and a sturdy tree to anchor the rope. “Yes! Come up!”
Su Yi’an turned to Lan Yan with a serious gaze. “Sister, they said they can.”
Lan Yan finally gave in. She climbed onto Su Yi’an’s back, clutching her backpack. “Sorry for the trouble.”
Being so close to the person she loved, smelling that intoxicating wine scent, Lan Yan’s heart drummed like a trapped bird. To hide it, she tried to keep a tiny bit of space between them.
Su Yi’an wasn’t happy with that. “Sister, hold on tighter. I’m afraid we’ll fall again if you don’t.”
Hearing that, Lan Yan cast aside her reserve and hugged her tightly.
