The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Lan Yin walked at the very front, moving quite fast, so she didn’t hear Su Yi’an’s words.
The others heard her, but they didn’t care much. They simply acknowledged it and continued walking ahead. After all, everyone thought including Lan Yan that even if Su Yi’an and Lan Yan headed back for a moment, it would only take a few minutes. If they just walked slower, the two would catch up easily.
However, plans rarely keep up with changes. Just as Su Yi’an and Lan Yan approached the car, they encountered the “mad dog” Lan Yin had mentioned. The dog was crouched in front of the car, baring its fangs and staring them down with hostile eyes.
Worst of all, the dog was genuinely hideous. To encounter such a creature suddenly in the dark of night gave both Lan Yan and Su Yi’an a fright.
But unlike Lan Yan, Su Yi’an didn’t stumble back. Lan Yan gasped and retreated several steps, nearly falling to the ground before Su Yi’an caught her. Touching that soft, slender waist, Su Yi’an felt a surge of heat rise within her, gradually overpowering the discomfort of her nicotine withdrawal.
She pressed her tongue against the roof of her mouth, taking a long time to suppress the impulse.
Right then, Lan Yan, acting out of instinctive tension and fear, clung to her. Within the scent of mint, a hint of grape pheromones began to mingle. The back of Su Yi’an’s neck turned scorching hot, and a faint red tint stained the corners of her eyes.
A startling desire surfaced in those sharp eyes. The little Alpha, who usually seemed innocent and harmless, suddenly exuded an indescribable charm that took a long time to fade. Su Yi’an’s lips, which had drifted close to Lan Yan’s neck, slowly pulled away at the last second.
Finally, as if by accident, they brushed against her hair.
Lan Yan was too consumed by fear to notice the change in Su Yi’an’s gaze. Just as she regained her composure to stand up, the dog suddenly let out two fierce barks. Lan Yan’s face turned pale again, and her grip on Su Yi’an’s arm tightened significantly.
“Sister, it’s okay. Don’t be afraid.”
Enduring the pain in her arm, Su Yi’an didn’t take the chance to pull any cheap stunts. Instead, she comforted the woman in her arms with a gentle voice.
The dog had barked because Su Yi’an had used her mental power to try and drive it away silently. The dog was running off now, but she hadn’t expected it to bark twice before leaving. Feeling her Sister’s sudden spike in fear, Su Yi’an had no heart for ulterior motives; she felt only an ache of protectiveness.
Lan Yan caught a glimpse of the dog disappearing. Startled, she realized that in her panic, she had collapsed into the little Alpha’s embrace. Furthermore, she had left deep scratch marks on Su Yi’an’s arm with her nails. Her nails were never short, and this time they had nearly sunk into the girl’s flesh.
The thin red lines of blood looked painful. Lan Yan’s heart tightened as she quickly released the Alpha’s arm. Forgetting everything else, she leaned down and blew gently on the wounds. “Are you alright? Why didn’t you push me away?”
A warm, sweet breath brushed against the wounds, causing the redness at the corners of Su Yi’an’s eyes to flare up again.
“I’m fine, Sister.” Su Yi’an raised her hand, wanting to hold Lan Yan’s hand—to tell her she was happy to be leaned on, happy to be held, and that it didn’t hurt at all.
However, Lan Yan suddenly took a sharp step back.
After completing the movement, she realized how childish she was being. Moreover, they were being far too intimate. Just minutes ago, she had told herself to maintain distance, only to be “slapped in the face” by her own actions.
Lan Yan’s gaze darted everywhere except at Su Yi’an. “The grapes are in the car. Go get them.” When she looked back, her eyes had regained their clarity.
“Okay,” Su Yi’an murmured, looking down. She walked toward the car, appearing even more dejected than before.
For a split second, she thought her Sister might actually like her. It was just a delusion. This ABO world was difficult—often, pheromones made it impossible to distinguish genuine feelings from biological reactions. Her Sister likely disliked Alphas because she had seen too many Omegas lose themselves under pheromone control, becoming slaves to Alphas.
But I’m not like that, Su Yi’an thought. She could control herself even if another Omega stood naked before her. But her Sister… even without pheromones, a single smile from her was enough to steal Su Yi’an’s soul.
Su Yi’an took the grapes from the car. To avoid suspicion, she popped one into her mouth. The grapes, which usually held such temptation for her, tasted like nothing now. The sweetness had turned to bitterness.
A woman like Lan Yan, even if momentarily swayed by external factors, would quickly regain her senses. She was too rational. That’s why Su Yi’an knew the “persistent harassment” method Chen Zhi used on Lan Yin would never work here. To truly have her Sister, she had to wait for her to open her heart on her own.
It was good that her Sister was cautious; otherwise, with her status and beauty, she would have been snatched away by another Alpha long ago. Thinking about it, they hadn’t known each other long; being this close was already a victory. At least her Sister cared for her—like just now, when Su Yi’an mentioned a “grape craving,” her Sister accompanied her back without hesitation.
She should be satisfied. Even so, Lan Yan’s instinctive retreat still left her feeling wounded.
Because Su Yi’an never hid her emotions in front of Lan Yan, her low spirits were easily perceived.
“Let’s go back to the hostel first. I’ll apply some medicine to your wounds,” Lan Yan said, her fists clenching. No matter how much she told herself to keep her distance, her heart couldn’t stop worrying about the girl’s injuries. Especially since the scratches on her arm were her own fault—on top of the injury to the back of the head the girl had sustained for her sake.
Besides, these scratches were… a bit too intimate. They looked as if she and the little Alpha had been up to something “bad.” She couldn’t let her appear in front of the group like that.
Su Yi’an paused her grape-eating and nodded obediently. She followed behind Lan Yan, eating a few more grapes, which finally tasted sweet this time.
Lan Yan stopped and looked back at the grapes in her hand, frowning with a look of slight disbelief. “Do you eat grapes without washing them?”
Su Yi’an: “…” She wasn’t actually the slob her Sister imagined. She made a mental note: Wash the grapes next time. Wash before eating Sister, too.
By the time Lan Yan finished treating the wounds, half an hour had passed. They realized they wouldn’t catch up to Lan Yin’s group, so they walked at a normal pace toward the river.
The town was quiet now. Although lights were on, the streets were empty. The silence on the path felt heavy. Even in summer, the night breeze carried a chill.
Before reaching the river, they passed a century-old ancient tomb. A piece of white paper blew into the graveyard. Su Yi’an instinctively turned to look, slowing her pace until she was slightly behind Lan Yan.
Was that a rat or a cat that ran out with the paper? Probably a rat; cats aren’t that small.
As Su Yi’an’s mind wandered, a slightly cool hand suddenly grasped hers. “Don’t be afraid.”
The voice was faint, but Su Yi’an recognized it as Lan Yan’s. She wasn’t actually afraid, but the sudden touch of her Sister’s cool hand would have scared the soul out of a braver person. Fortunately, aside from specific fears like needles, Su Yi’an was quite bold. To her, this “scare” felt like a romantic gesture from her Sister.
Just then, a small black creature swaggered across the path. Su Yi’an wasn’t fazed, but the calm Lan Yan turned pale and nearly shrieked. She didn’t believe in ghosts, but she was terrified of rats.
Lan Yan’s nails dug into the back of Su Yi’an’s hand, leaving marks similar to the ones on her arm. Once the rat vanished, Lan Yan’s fear subsided slightly.
“Don’t… don’t be afraid. There are no ghosts.” Despite her own pale face, she forced herself to comfort the “ghost-fearing” Alpha, even gently stroking the scratches she had just made.
If Su Yi’an didn’t have such strong mental perception enough to feel every change in Lan Yan’s state and hear the tremor in her voice she might have believed her.
She couldn’t help it; a light laugh escaped her. Lan Yan, whose nerves were already frayed, felt it immediately. Her pale face turned crimson. “What are you laughing at?”
Su Yi’an instantly wiped the smile from her face and shook her head. Lan Yan huffed, “Everyone has things they’re afraid of. Many Omegas are afraid of rats, just like you’re afraid of needles and ghosts.” She explained with a stiff, professional face, looking every bit the high-cold CEO leading a board meeting.
Su Yi’an coughed and looked away. “Sister is right.” For some reason, she found her Sister incredibly cute—just as cute as when she was drunk. Even when she was being serious, Su Yi’an couldn’t stop herself from wanting to smile.
Seeing the little Alpha so “obedient,” Lan Yan breathed a sigh of relief, but that strange, heart-swaying palpitation returned. She looked at Su Yi’an’s profile, which looked exceptionally fair under the moonlight, and lost herself for a moment.
Perhaps having such a little Alpha by her side wasn’t a bad thing. At least when she was startled, there was someone to lean on even if she didn’t believe she needed one.
As Lan Yan agonized over her feelings, Su Yi’an didn’t give her time to hesitate. She gripped the hand that had been offered to her and led her forward.
At the riverbank, Su Yi’an let go. She looked at the colorful lanterns on the water, but her peripheral vision caught a movement behind a large tree.
Chen Zhi pulled back from kissing Lan Yin’s lips, tidied her messy clothes, and glanced toward the left. “It’s a bit cold here. Shall we move?” she asked with a slight note of pleading.
Lan Yin’s hazy eyes finally cleared. Her face turned bright red, and she covered her lips with both hands. “No. We’ve seen each other tonight. Don’t come looking for me anymore.”
She didn’t understand. Why did they end up kissing every time they met? It felt like their only two meetings had consisted solely of kissing. Worse, the woman’s kissing skills were terrible and hadn’t improved at all yet she had let her continue for so long…
Is it the pheromones, or can I just not resist this person? She was a former fan of the movie queen, after all, and Chen Zhi was exactly her type. But even so, she wasn’t usually this lacking in reserve. Lan Yin couldn’t figure it out, so she blamed the Alpha. Vile Alpha, using pheromones to seduce me.
Lan Yin didn’t realize she had said it out loud. Chen Zhi narrowed her eyes, pulled Lan Yin around to hide her from view, and bit her ear. “Who are you calling vile? You promised to have dinner with your girlfriend and stood me up, then made me come to this godforsaken place. Come on, put your hands down. Give me another ‘signature’.”
Chen Zhi was an actor, a Movie Queen. No matter how embarrassed or flustered she felt inside, it never showed on her face. She didn’t want anyone especially her “best friend” the little Alpha to see her girlfriend looking so dazed and kissed-senseless.
Lan Yin couldn’t see through the veteran actor’s facade. She simply kept her mouth covered. “Go kiss someone else!”
Chen Zhi looked at the Omega, who looked even more radiant after the kiss. Her eyes darkened. She didn’t even film kissing scenes; did this girl really think she just kissed anyone? She stared at Lan Yin until the girl trembled with nerves, then laughed softly. She leaned into her ear and whispered, “I heard you like my movies. Do you know how the internet describes me?”
Lan Yin blinked. Why was the topic changing? And I don’t like your movies anymore, starting today! she thought. The internet is wrong—’cold and abstinent’? Fake. All fake.
Chen Zhi said meaningfully, “I don’t have a habit of just picking up anyone.” If it were anyone else blocked by a “mad dog,” she wouldn’t have risked bringing them into her car. She couldn’t explain it, but seeing Lan Yin’s face, she felt she was doing it for Lan Yan’s sake. Now she knew Lan Yin was just very “kissable,” and she looked better in person than in photos.
When her heat had suddenly arrived, Chen Zhi had strangely ignored the suppressants in her pocket and opted for those lips instead. She had learned to keep suppressants on her from Su Yi’an.
Of course, the temporary marking was an accident. She hadn’t expected the aftereffects of the kiss to be so strong. Now, she felt Lan Yin’s pheromones were “delicious.”
Lan Yin thought she was being crazy, but felt guilty about standing her up. She heard Chen Zhi’s stomach growl the woman really hadn’t eaten. Perhaps that was why she hadn’t resisted as much. But no more! Any more and my lips will be swollen, and I won’t have an excuse for my Little Aunt.
“Movie Queen Chen, why are you here?” Lan Yan approached, her eyes landing on Chen Zhi.
Lan Yin’s heart jumped into her throat. She felt like a student caught dating by her parents. Unlike her, Chen Zhi looked perfectly natural. “The production crew is filming a variety show here tomorrow. They asked us to get used to the location early. I saw Miss Lan Yin painting here and came to take a look.”
Su Yi’an was impressed by the sheer audacity of the lie. If she hadn’t seen them pinned against the tree earlier, she would have believed it.
Lan Yan’s attention was successfully diverted. As a new business partner, she gave Chen Zhi a polite smile. “The scenery here is indeed good. I didn’t know you enjoyed painting as well.”
Chen Zhi nodded politely. “I’ll leave you to it then. I’ll take a walk around.”
As Chen Zhi left, she gave Lan Yin a look that said: Isn’t your girlfriend amazing? Why aren’t you praising me?
Lan Yin: “…” Painting? She loves ‘signatures’! Everyone is being fooled by this hypocrite.
After Chen Zhi left, Lan Yin’s face returned to normal. Lan Yan noticed nothing, and Su Yi’an certainly wasn’t going to snitch. Just as Chen Zhi hadn’t snitched on her.
Lan Yan cautioned her niece, “The light is too dim here. If you want to paint, find a brighter spot so you don’t hurt your eyes.”
“Okay, Little Aunt.”
Lan Yin stood by her easel, dazed. That kiss-maniac had almost gotten her caught… The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she got. She took out her phone, went to Chen Zhi’s Weibo, registered a new account, and posted several comments calling her a “fraud” and “only having good looks.”
She felt better after the petty revenge. Just as a small smile appeared on her face, Chen Zhi popped out from behind the tree again. “Yinyin, how about joining the variety show with me?”
Lan Yin fell onto her backside in shock. “You… why are you back again?!”
Chen Zhi laughed, pointing at Su Yi’an and Lan Yan, who were standing very close on the stone bridge. “They’re busy, so I came back. Don’t worry, your Little Aunt won’t notice us.”
Chen Zhi had entered her role very quickly. Lan Yin, however, just turned red again. “I’m warning you I don’t want any more ‘signatures’!”
If you want to sign, sign for someone else! My mouth can’t take it!
