The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 59
Chapter 59
He Xia was acting suspicious, sneaking a few gulps from a small bottle of alcohol behind her girlfriend’s back. Su Yi’an watched this from the shadows, realizing that her roommate was simply a secret drinker. Once He Xia returned to the restaurant, Su Yi’an followed.
Inside, dinner was served. As if by unspoken agreement, Su Yi’an’s seat was right next to Lan Yan. Lan Yan sat with the aura of a “cold CEO”—distant and unapproachable to those who didn’t know her. However, the students had grown bolder after the morning’s photo session. (Zeng Wei) even teased Lan Yan by moving the alcohol away from her, recalling how “cute” she became when drunk.
The memory made both Lan Yan and Su Yi’an tense up under the table. Their legs accidentally brushed against each other, sending a spark of nervous energy through them. Lan Yan, visibly flustered, began eating rapidly without looking at her plate.
Su Yi’an noticed Lan Yan struggling with the mediocre restaurant food. She leaned in and whispered, “Sister…” her warm breath ghosting over Lan Yan’s ear. The intimacy of the gesture made Lan Yan’s heart flutter, reminding her of their close encounter at the hotel earlier that afternoon. To avoid further temptation and dependency, Lan Yan quickly finished her meal and announced she was full, hoping to prevent Su Yi’an from offering to cook for her again.
As the group chatted, He Xia tried to pull Su Yi’an into a drinking contest. Lan Yan interjected sharply, “Dr. Jiang said you shouldn’t drink until your injuries are fully healed.” Su Yi’an immediately obeyed, putting down her glass.
When He Xia grumbled about being a “henpecked” Alpha, Su Yi’an looked at Lan Yan and corrected her: “It’s not fear, it’s love.” She followed Lan Yan’s lead, choosing to prioritize her feelings over her own desires.
Meanwhile, Lan Yin was acting strangely fidgeting with her phone and changing expressions every second. Lan Yan worried her niece was in a secret relationship, perhaps even “keeping” someone the way she was keeping Su Yi’an. To escape, Lan Yin claimed she wanted to go to the river to paint night scenes.
Sensing an opportunity to help her friend Chen Zhi (and herself), Su Yi’an suggested they all go see the river lanterns. “I’ll keep an eye on Lan Yin,” she promised Lan Yan, successfully diverting the need for professional bodyguards who might catch Lan Yin meeting Chen Zhi.
The group set off toward the river. Lan Yan walked ahead, her mind a mess of conflicting emotions wanting to be near Su Yi’an yet fearing the complications of their agreement.
Su Yi’an, feeling the weight of her unspoken love and a nagging nicotine craving (which she suppressed with grapes), looked a bit dejected. Lan Yan noticed her lagging behind and slowed her pace to match.
“Are you tired?” Lan Yan asked softly.
Su Yi’an’s eyes lit up instantly. “No, I’m just… having a ‘grape craving’ (nicotine withdrawal).”
Lan Yan remembered the grapes they had left in the car, kept cool on ice. “The grapes are still in the car. Let’s go back and get them.”
Su Yi’an didn’t hesitate. She called out to the group, “I’m going back with Little Aunt to pick something up. You guys go ahead!”
She beamed at the chance to finally be alone with her “Grape Sister.”
