The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 56
Chapter 56
After getting into the car, Lan Yan sat in the back seat as upright as usual, her gaze hollow and staring straight ahead. Lan Yin, worried she might throw up, sat beside her and asked, “Little Aunt, what are you looking at?”
Lan Yan didn’t hesitate. “Looking at Rabbit.”
She could smell the scent of wine on “Rabbit” (Su Yi’an) and wanted more. Lan Yin, assuming her aunt was hallucinating from the alcohol, sighed and tried to coax her like a child. “Okay, we’ll see Rabbit when we go back to sleep, alright?”
Lan Yan looked at her niece strangely. Rabbit is driving, why do I need to sleep to see her? But she simply nodded. The beer she drank was inferior to the “wine” on Rabbit it lacked that soul-numbing tingle. As the car swayed, those hazy memories of being marked by Su Yi’an’s pheromones flashed before her eyes, making her blush even deeper.
Suddenly, Lan Yan felt a wave of nausea. Lan Yin panicked, thinking her aunt was about to vomit, and shouted for Su Yi’an to pull over.
Lan Yan gripped the door, emphasizing each word: “Lan Yin, I am not drunk. And I won’t throw up.”
They stopped near the inn. Lan Yan stepped out, showing no sign of sickness. Instead, she stared at the nervous Su Yi’an, who was holding water and tissues.
“You don’t believe me,” Lan Yan said, her voice dropping into a tone of slight, pouting resentment. With the alcohol emboldening her, she said things she usually wouldn’t.
Su Yi’an’s heart nearly stopped. “Sister… Little Aunt, I do believe you. Here, have some water.”
Lan Yan took the bottle. “I don’t like the name ‘Little Aunt’.”
Su Yi’an froze, glancing at Lan Yin. She knew Lan Yan hated the title, but calling her “Sister” in front of the students would be scandalous. Lan Yin, however, missed the tension. She assumed her aunt was just talking nonsense because she felt the title made her sound old.
“Okay, Little… Aunt, let’s just go inside and sleep,” Lan Yin coaxed, leading her toward the inn.
Once inside the room, Lan Yin planned to stay and look after her aunt, effectively stripping Su Yi’an of any chance to be alone with her “Sister.” Su Yi’an politely left to go to her own room, but she didn’t go back to the party. Instead, she began transferring the photos of Lan Yan from the camera to her phone, meticulously deleting certain ones so no one else could have them.
Meanwhile, back in Lan Yan’s room, as soon as the door closed, the “well-behaved” Lan Yan whispered to her niece, “Lan Yin, I want to drink.”
Lan Yin managed to coax her into “sleeping first, drinking later.” Surprisingly, Lan Yan obeyed, curled up, and fell into a deep sleep. Seeing her aunt settled, Lan Yin received a call from He Xia, who convinced her to come back to the river to see the night lights. Thinking her aunt would sleep for hours, Lan Yin slipped out.
Half an hour later, Su Yi’an was in her room, struggling with the fact that she had no change of clothes. Just as she was about to text Lan Yan to see if she was awake, her phone rang.
The caller ID: Sister.
“Rabbit,” Lan Yan’s voice came through, husky and sleepy. “Where are you? I want to drink.”
The call ended abruptly. A moment later, there was a knock at Su Yi’an’s door. It was Lan Yan. She looked calm, but the moment she entered, she pinned Su Yi’an with a gaze.
“You aren’t calling me ‘Little Aunt’ anymore,” Lan Yan noted. “I’m happy. But… you lied to me.”
Su Yi’an felt a cold sweat. “I didn’t lie to you, Sister.”
Lan Yan stepped closer, her finger pressing against the back of Su Yi’an’s neck. “There is wine here. You lied.”
She was talking about Su Yi’an’s wine-scented pheromones. Before Su Yi’an could react, Lan Yan leaned in and began to nuzzle and kiss the back of her neck. “I want to drink.”
Su Yi’an’s resolve crumbled. She turned around, pulled Lan Yan into a deep kiss, but eventually forced herself to pull away. Not here. Not while she’s not sober. I can’t let her regret this later.
They ended up cuddling on the bed, exhausted by the tension. Su Yi’an fell asleep, only to wake up later to an empty bed. Lan Yan was gone.
Su Yi’an’s phone rang. It was her father.
“An’an, it’s over!” her father wailed. “The Lan family patriarch refused to acknowledge the betrothal! Before you and the Lan girl could even meet, the engagement was cancelled!”
Su Yi’an sat up, her mind full of question marks. Wait… the engagement I was trying to avoid… was with HER family?
