The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 48
Chapter 48
Lan Yan’s gaze was sharp, like a fine blade ready to slice open Su Yi’an’s heart and see everything clearly.
Su Yi’an felt her scalp prickle. She averted her eyes slightly toward the main entrance of the building. “I changed my clothes before coming… and left the keys in the dorm.” Her cheeks grew a shade redder under the sun, looking appropriately sheepish.
She wasn’t technically lying the keys were in the dorm but she had left them there on purpose. She had simulated every possible reaction her sister might have.
Lan Yan breathed a private sigh of relief, though it was tinged with an unexpected trace of disappointment. When the young Alpha first appeared, the look in her eyes was so intense like someone looking at a deep love that Lan Yan had genuinely thought the girl came specifically to pick her up.
That kind of gaze sparked a primal panic in Lan Yan; she didn’t know how to respond and felt an urge to flee, yet she couldn’t deny the secret joy in her heart. Maybe I misunderstood, she thought. She didn’t mean it that way.
“It’s fine. let’s go,” Lan Yan said with a faint, graceful smile. At the moment, this Alpha satisfied her in every way. She was pleasant to be around, and besides the girl’s tendency to swallow her grievances in silence, Lan Yan couldn’t find a single fault. Combined with her lingering guilt, she couldn’t bring herself to say a harsh word to the girl.
As they walked, Su Yi’an reached behind her and handed a cup of black tea to Lan Yan, her face flushing even darker from a mix of nerves and the sun. “Sister, I won’t forget next time. Here.”
Lan Yan looked at the single cup. “You drink it.” She assumed the girl only bought one to save money.
Su Yi’an shook her head stubbornly, pressing the tea into her hand. “This is for Sister. I already had some.” She pointed to the shop across the street. “I came straight after class. I was early and the sun was hot, so I sat there for a while.”
Lan Yan couldn’t refuse. She glanced at the cup—low sugar, light ice exactly how she liked it. She took a sip through the straw. “Thank you.” Her happiness radiated outward. She realized that if the girl came straight from class, she likely hadn’t eaten.
“Next time, eat something first. Don’t be in such a rush,” Lan Yan said warmly.
Su Yi’an stared at her, her heart hammering against her ribs. “Mhm.”
While they headed to the car, they didn’t notice a company employee standing by the gates, jaw dropped. A blurry photo was snapped, and the company group chat exploded:
-
-
“Everyone! President Lan definitely has an Alpha! Those marks this morning weren’t an illusion!”
-
-
-
“She left 30 minutes early today! It must be because that Alpha came to pick her up!”
-
-
-
“Look at the photo! Even the profile looks like a beauty. What a celestial couple!”

Back at the house, Lan Yan called Jiang Mu, who promised to arrive shortly. Su Yi’an immediately headed for the kitchen. “Sister, I’ll cook.”
“Don’t you want to rest?” Lan Yan watched her from the sofa.
“I’m not tired. My physical stamina is very good,” Su Yi’an replied, emphasizing the last part. Lan Yan didn’t catch the double meaning, thinking only that young people were far too stubborn about their pride.
As Lan Yan flipped through channels, the TV landed on you guessed it Wolf A and Rabbit O. It was the classic “wall-slam” scene. Hearing the lines that made her skin crawl, Lan Yan looked toward the kitchen just as Su Yi’an walked out with wet hands.
“Sister, where’s the apron?”
Lan Yan’s face heated up. She pulled a new apron from the cabinet pink, with a large white rabbit on the front. It was even more “moe” than the previous one. Since Jiang Mu had worn the old one, she figured the Alpha wouldn’t want to touch it, so she bought a new one.
It suited the girl’s “little rabbit” aura perfectly.
“Can I trouble Sister to tie it for me?” Su Yi’an asked, her ears turning red. This was a tiny bit of “scheming” to get her sister close.
Lan Yan stepped behind her. As she reached around to tie the strings, her long hair brushed Su Yi’an’s neck. The Alpha’s skin immediately broke out in goosebumps from the warm breath on her nape.
On the TV, the main couple was engaged in an incredibly long kiss. Lan Yan’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t help but glance at the screen, then back at the girl. “Do you like it?”
Su Yi’an, dazed by the scent of her sister’s hair, thought she meant the apron. “I love it,” she lied through her teeth. She hated pink, but if her sister liked it, she’d wear it. She even imagined her sister wearing only this apron in the kitchen… she nearly had a nosebleed.
Lan Yan’s expression became complicated. “Do all you young people like this kind of drama?”
Su Yi’an finally noticed the TV. Seeing the couple kissing, she replied urgently, “Yes, I like it.” She thought her sister was asking if she liked kissing.
“I see,” Lan Yan nodded thoughtfully. So she does like the Overbearing CEO style.
Soon, Jiang Mu arrived, sweating and carrying a medical kit. He took one look at Su Yi’an bustling in the kitchen and turned to Lan Yan. “Lan Lan, you said she was ‘seriously injured.’ She looks lively enough to cook a three-course meal! I rushed over for this?”
Lan Yan ignored his complaining and asked seriously, “A-Mu, do you think… I am an ‘Overbearing CEO’?”
Jiang Mu sprayed his tea across the room. “What? Lan Lan, why on earth would you ask that?” To him, “Overbearing CEO” implied someone “greasy,” which was the opposite of the elegant Lan Yan.
Su Yi’an came out with the food just as Lan Yan pointed to the TV. “I heard the young people at the office like this type, so I was just curious.” She didn’t mention the Alpha.
Jiang Mu laughed until he cried. “You? Definitely not. He can’t compare to you.” He turned to Su Yi’an. “Little Alpha, don’t you agree?”
“Sister is incomparable,” Su Yi’an said firmly. In her heart, no fictional character could touch Lan Yan.
This answer made Lan Yan feel much better. Even the “greasy” male lead on TV looked a bit more tolerable now.
Dinner was a quiet affair, though Jiang Mu felt like he was being stuffed with invisible “dog food” (couples’ sweetness). Every time the two women’s gazes met and darted away, he felt like he could see physical sparks between them.
After dinner, Jiang Mu couldn’t wait to leave. “Alright, head injury and gland issues, right? Let me see.”
“Wait, I’ll clear the table first,” Su Yi’an insisted.
Lan Yan pressed her hand down. “I’ll do it. You listen to Dr. Jiang.”
Their eyes locked again. Finally, Su Yi’an yielded with a helpless smile. “Alright, Dr. Jiang. Let’s do this.”
