The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 25.2
Chapter 25.2
“Chemical major. My family was poor when I was a child, so I had to learn a lot of things to get by.”
Su Yi’an answered every question Jiang Mu asked. She even took the initiative to ask him: “What about you and Sister?”
Jiang Mu smiled. “Her and me? We usually meet at the hospital. Lan Lan’s pheromones… well, the more some things are suppressed, the harder they rebound once they break free. You’ll understand eventually.”
He cut the sentence short and changed the subject naturally. “South gate or North gate?”
Su Yi’an lowered her gaze, her voice slightly raspy. “North gate.”
She understood perfectly. She was suppressing herself right now, feeling like she was about to explode. She even harbored the selfish hope that Sister Grape’s pheromones would lose control sooner so she would come looking for her.
Jiang Mu didn’t notice anything unusual, assuming the “innocent” little girl was just shy about such topics. He teased, “You’ve never been in a relationship before, have you?” He wanted to get a better read on her for Lan Yan’s sake.
“No.”
“No one likes me. Unlike Sister—I’m sure many people like her.”
Unbeknownst to Jiang Mu, Su Yi’an was also fishing for information about Lan Yan.
The System hesitated. “…Host, you sound a bit passive-aggressive.”
Su Yi’an ignored it, her ears perked for Jiang Mu’s reply. Yes, she was jealous. Even though the kiss at the bar suggested that Sister Grape was likely as inexperienced as she was, the thought of “hungry wolves” surrounding Lan Yan made her feel sour.
“Yes, many people like her,” Jiang Mu laughed. “But Lan Lan is a powerhouse. She hates ‘Alpha-supremacists’ and isn’t the type to be a submissive housewife. Most Alphas today, male or female, have that stinking attitude—they want an Omega to be as beautiful as a flower while also working and raising kids. So Lan Lan prefers being single, which is why her pheromones aren’t getting the regular soothing they need.”
“By the way, that Zhang Baiyang from the Zhang family is the textbook definition of that ‘stinking attitude.’ He revolts me, let alone Lan Lan. Little sister, don’t say I didn’t warn you: stay far away from him.”
Jiang Mu gave the advice partly to protect Su Yi’an’s purity and partly because he suspected the drug injected into her was Zhang Baiyang’s doing.
At the mention of Zhang Baiyang, the greasy man from the previous night appeared in Su Yi’an’s mind. She frowned, remembering the task she had assigned to her assistant.
“Okay,” Su Yi’an replied, checking her phone.
Her assistant had replied last night. The world-class jewelry designers she had asked for would arrive in the capital this afternoon. Her plan was to have them join Lan Yan’s company, but she couldn’t make it too obvious. She had instructed her team to leak the news that SCX—a world-renowned trio of elite designers—was looking to develop in the Flower Kingdom. Lan Yan would surely see the opportunity.
Solving a major headache for “Sister” put Su Yi’an in a great mood. As for sales, she decided to have her friend Chen Zhi endorse the brand. Chen Zhi was coming to the city soon anyway; it would give her something to do besides bothering Su Yi’an.
She messaged Chen Zhi immediately, adding a final note: Don’t expose me.
Chen Zhi replied almost instantly with an “OK” emoji, then asked suggestively: The Lan family in the capital… is this for that legendary betrothal of yours?
Su Yi’an replied seriously: Don’t talk nonsense. Lan Yin is my future niece.
Chen Zhi nearly fell off her chair. Crap! Sister, you’re going for the elders?!
Images of Su Yi’an with a middle-aged woman or man flashed through Chen Zhi’s mind. She shuddered. Little Nun, I didn’t know you had such heavy tastes.
Su Yi’an was very reserved: Not yet. I want to, but Sister won’t let me! (This was her delayed answer to the “betrothal” question).
Chen Zhi: … She stared at the screen. Was the “Little Nun” talking dirty? She sent a question mark.
Su Yi’an instantly unsent the message.
Chen Zhi: Don’t hide it! I already screenshotted it. Any photos? Let me check her out. Don’t get played by some ‘Older Woman.’ They are very manipulative.
Su Yi’an was genuinely annoyed: She wouldn’t lie to me. Sister is young and beautiful. If you call her an ‘Older Woman’ again, I’ll crack your head when we meet.
By the time Su Yi’an finished her chat, they had arrived at the North gate. She thanked Jiang Mu and headed toward her dorm. Since she’d been excused from classes, she planned to sleep. The injury and the sleepless night had taken their toll.
She slept until 2:00 PM. When she woke up, her roommate He Xia was looking at her with intense concern.
“Su, are you okay? What did the doctor say? Lan Yin and the other girls want to come visit.”
He Xia was like a machine gun, her words never-ending. Su Yi’an’s head began to throb again. “I’m fine. Whatever.”
“Good, good,” He Xia pointed to the desk. “The juniors bought those fruits. There are grapes—your favorite—bananas, and apples. I also brought you food. If you’re hurting, tell us. Money isn’t an issue!”
They had witnessed the assault. Even though they didn’t know the specifics of the check-up Lan Yan took her to, the injuries looked severe. Su Yi’an chose the grapes and ignored the greasy meal.
By Sunday, Su Yi’an felt much better. Her wounds were healing thanks to the medication. Her neck no longer needed bandages, but she insisted the clinic doctor wrap it anyway because the bite mark was too obvious.
The doctor told her the scar might be permanent and could affect her chances of finding an Omega. Su Yi’an didn’t care; she liked the idea of a permanent mark. It was proof she belonged to Sister Grape.
On Sunday afternoon, while at the clinic, she received a message from Lan Yan. It was short: asking if she had classes on Monday. When she said no, Lan Yan told her to come over to her house.
Does this mean… staying the night at Sister’s?
Lan Yan even sent this month’s payment in advance. Su Yi’an accepted it happily. If she didn’t take the money, Sister might think she didn’t want to fulfill her “duties.”
He Xia, who was with her, noticed the change in her mood. “Found a good thing?” She saw Su Yi’an’s smirk. “Is a favorite Omega asking you out?”
Su Yi’an tried to suppress her smile. “Yes.”
“Cong… congratulations,” He Xia said, feeling a pang of jealousy that her “straight A” roommate was off the market before her. As they left the clinic, He Xia mysteriously handed her a black plastic bag and patted her shoulder. “Good luck, Su. Try to bring her home for a meal soon.”
Su Yi’an looked inside the bag, saw the condoms and lubricants, and was speechless. She tried to hand it back. “I don’t need this.”
She wanted to be with Lan Yan, but she knew Lan Yan wouldn’t agree to that yet. If Lan Yan saw these, she would definitely doubt Su Yi’an’s intentions. A kiss or a hug would be enough for now.
“You’re an adult,” He Xia whispered. “She asked you over. Do you know what that means? You’re a student—if an accident happens, can you take responsibility?” He Xia looked her up and down suspiciously. “Or… are you ‘incapable’?”
He Xia had suspected the drug from the thugs caused permanent damage. She hadn’t smelled Su Yi’an’s pheromones in days.
Su Yi’an: “…Stop talking nonsense!”
Just then, Lan Yin and some juniors called out to them. He Xia shoved the bag into Su Yi’an’s hands and ran off. “Go for it, Su! I’m going to the movies with the juniors!”
Su Yi’an watched the girls approach and had no choice but to shove the bag into her backpack, planning to throw it away before she reached Lan Yan’s house.
