The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 25.1
Chapter 25.1
The bedsheets and thin quilt in the bedroom were dark-colored, contrasting sharply with the skin. Almost the moment Lan Yan lay down, Su Yi’an felt her entire body ignite.
If one day I could press Sister down in a place like this and fully unravel her, what a beautiful sight that would be.
“I… I’m going to take a shower,” Su Yi’an struggled to get up, looking disheveled.
In truth, the smell of kitchen smoke had almost vanished, leaving only a faint medicinal fragrance. But she was so nervous that she feared any perceived “odd smell” on her body would lead to Sister’s disdain. In front of the person one likes, one always overthinks, acting with extreme caution, afraid of causing unnecessary trouble.
In her current state, a cold shower to calm down seemed like a good idea.
Click. Lan Yan didn’t think much of it and simply turned off the light. The room plunged into darkness.
“It’s late. Get some rest. I don’t have a change of clothes for you here anyway,” a soft voice spoke from beside her. One could easily hear the exhaustion in Lan Yan’s tone.
Su Yi’an stopped moving. She lay flat and properly, hands folded over her lower abdomen. Yet, with every breath, she could smell Sister’s scent—the sheets, the quilt, the pillows were all infused with a layer of mint fragrance.
In the darkness, all senses were magnified. Su Yi’an heard her own restless heartbeat and the shallow breathing behind her, but she couldn’t hear the rain outside getting louder. Her beloved was right before her eyes, yet she didn’t even dare to lean closer. It wasn’t exactly lack of courage; she simply didn’t want to be a despicable person who ignored Sister’s will. She couldn’t bear to hurt her, fearing she might startle her and ruin everything she had worked for.
The words Lan Yan had said at the bar—You like me?—were still echoing in her ears.
Su Yi’an suffered from insomnia. Her neck throbbed with pain as she tossed and turned. Unspeakable emotions swirled in her mind, and her young body was flushing with impulse. She desperately wanted to kiss her, to hold her, but reality wouldn’t allow it.
The System expressed its confusion: “Is Host suffering because of the gland? It’s just a matter of earning 100 points and doing one more mission. No need to be so sad.”
Su Yi’an clenched her fists, refraining from touching the person beside her. “I’m not.”
System: “Then why can’t Host sleep?”
Logically, the sound of rain should be a sleep aid, and the temperature was perfect. The Host’s sleep quality had always been good; the System had never seen her struggle this much. If it was because of Lan Yan, the Host wasn’t even looking at her—there was enough space between them for a third person.
Su Yi’an’s face was burning. She deflected: “The scent in the room is too strong.”
The System was even more baffled: “Lan Yan said she just moved in this morning. There’s no scent. Is Host experiencing a psychological effect?”
Su Yi’an: “…Little Crybaby, you’re talking too much tonight.”
System: “…Wuwuwu.” If the Host’s unstable emotions weren’t affecting me so much, would I bother asking? As a System with a strong moral compass, I’m just afraid the Host is devastated by the sterilization thing!
Su Yi’an took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes, trying to force herself to sleep. Suddenly, a few strands of hair fell against her neck, and a warm breath brushed past her ear: “Still not asleep? Do you have trouble sleeping in new places? Relax… Sister won’t eat you.”
Lan Yan’s lazy, slightly nasal voice was like a tiny hook, constantly tugging at Su Yi’an. She snapped her eyes open, completely unable to force sleep now. That seductive voice replayed in her mind. She wasn’t afraid of Sister “eating” her—she longed for it every second—she was afraid of losing control and “eating” Sister herself.
Lan Yan had only made the joke because she sensed the girl’s tension. She was actually very tired, and after saying that, she drifted off into a daze. The one who started the fire fell asleep unaware, while the one who was provoked remained agitated for a long time.
In the dark, quiet room, only the thump-thump-thump of a heartbeat remained.
The heavy rain outside stopped at some point. The air conditioning wasn’t on, and the windows were shut. As the night deepened, a slight chill crept in.
Su Yi’an was still wide awake. She turned slightly to see if Lan Yan was properly covered. A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the bed. In the gloom, a patch of white skin beneath a messy shirt was particularly conspicuous. As the lightning faded, the image was burned into her mind.
Memories of that soft touch surged back. Su Yi’an almost forgot to breathe. Her hands clenched unconsciously, and her plan to cover Sister with the quilt was forgotten.
In her sleep, Lan Yan felt a chill. She frowned slightly, her body instinctively moving toward a heat source. Slowly, she hugged the “furnace” beside her and fell into a satisfied slumber.
Mint fragrance pressed against her, and hot breath tickled her ear. It was impossible to ignore. Su Yi’an froze, looking at the red lips so close to her own. She swallowed; she didn’t want to endure anymore. She moved with tiny, calculated shifts, bringing her lips toward those she had long coveted. Another flash of lightning showed Lan Yan’s exquisite sleeping face, and Su Yi’an recoiled in fear as the pain in her neck helped her regain her sanity.
Her retreat was a bit too wide. The heat source moved away, and a dissatisfied Lan Yan hugged the “furnace” tighter, pressing her face against it.
By pure accident, Lan Yan’s lips brushed the corner of Su Yi’an’s mouth. If Su Yi’an tilted her head just a fraction, she could kiss her fully. And that patch of white skin… thanks to the lightning, Su Yi’an saw it again, pressed firmly against her.
Sigh… being Sister’s pure and sensible ‘Little Milk Alpha’ is so hard.
Su Yi’an closed her eyes in agony and pulled the quilt up, covering Lan Yan completely. She really wanted to be Sister’s “experienced driver” instead.
The night, both happy and miserable, passed in Su Yi’an’s endurance.
The next morning, as sunlight filled the room and the temperature rose, Su Yi’an finally felt a bit of sleepiness. In her daze, she didn’t notice Lan Yan waking up with a mix of shock and embarrassment.
Lan Yan looked at the little girl she had almost pushed off the bed and felt… not great. She had seemingly spent the night in the girl’s arms and slept quite soundly. Does an Omega really need an Alpha more as they get older? she wondered. Even an injured little girl… is my ‘need’ really that high?
The girl’s skin was so nice, her eyelashes so long. Up close, her slightly flushed face looked so obedient. Am I getting old and losing my charm? Is that why she didn’t do anything?
Lan Yan didn’t know whether to be happy or annoyed. She ignored the strange feeling in her heart, gently moved her arm away from Su Yi’an, and checked her phone. It was early, so she didn’t wake the sleeping girl. Little did she know the “obedient” girl had struggled with insomnia all night and had only just fallen asleep.
It was just after 6:00 AM. Su Yi’an had said she had no morning classes. Although Lan Yan had to go to the office, it was only 200 meters away. There was no rush.
The room was a bit stuffy. Lan Yan buttoned her shirt, opened the window to let the sun in, and walked out of the bedroom with a red face. Her clothes were all at her old villa; she was still wearing yesterday’s outfit. If she went to the office like this, people would gossip—and it might reach her parents or cousins.
She decided to have her secretary send new clothes over. Just after she sent the text, Jiang Mu, lying on the sofa, startled her.
Jiang Mu yawned. “Lan Lan, you’re up early. Huh, the little girl isn’t up yet? Is she… exhausted?” He sounded increasingly suggestive.
Lan Yan glared at him. “You slept on the sofa?”
Jiang Mu felt wronged. “You have nothing here! I woke up from the cold in the middle of the night. That guest room is too dark, so I came to the living room to get some sun.”
He joked: “Sigh, if I had known, the three of us should have just squeezed together. We’re both Omegas, and your little girl is ‘incapable’ anyway…”
“A-Mu!” Lan Yan interrupted sternly. “Watch your words. And she’s not like other Alphas. Don’t corrupt her.”
She thought about Su Yi’an’s high self-esteem. Mentioning “that” was like rubbing salt in a wound. Even as a joke, it wasn’t okay. If she had gone through that, she wouldn’t be as calm as the girl. The girl was probably sad in secret—maybe that’s why she couldn’t sleep. Lan Yan felt she had to find a way to cure her; the Lan family owed her that much.
Jiang Mu shut up. My friend is just too serious, he thought. She doesn’t realize her wealth and beauty are things many people would die for. But the girl inside did seem honest—like a “country bumpkin” type. They shared a bed, and she didn’t even take a bite.
To ease the awkwardness, Jiang Mu stood up. “I’ll make breakfast.”
He couldn’t cook, but he figured egg noodles would be easy. There were noodles and eggs in the groceries Su Yi’an bought yesterday. That girl is forward-thinking, preparing breakfast ingredients ahead of time, he thought. (Actually, the eggs and noodles were just freebies from the vendor, but Su Yi’an was asleep and couldn’t correct him.)
Two minutes later, the kitchen was billowing with smoke. Jiang Mu emerged with a bowl of charred black substance. “It seems I failed. Lan Lan, why don’t you taste it first so I can improve?”
Lan Yan’s veins throbbed in her forehead.
The bedroom door opened. A drowsy Su Yi’an walked out, her eyes behind her glasses looking a bit dazed. “Sister… what’s burning?”
She was exhausted—having slept less than half an hour—but the smell of smoke had woken her. She feared the house was on fire or Sister was hurt. Seeing Jiang Mu with a plate of “charcoal,” she understood immediately. “Let me do breakfast.”
Jiang Mu practically threw the apron at her. “Thanks, little sister!”
Su Yi’an quietly set the apron aside. She liked the bunny pattern Lan Yan chose, but since another Omega had worn it, she didn’t want to. Besides, a quick breakfast wouldn’t be that smokey.
“Not going back to sleep?” Lan Yan asked. Even the glasses couldn’t hide the dark circles under Su Yi’an’s eyes.
“No,” Su Yi’an said, heading to the kitchen. What was the point of sleeping without Sister? She could nap anytime, but Sister had to work.
Lan Yan didn’t pry further. She sat on the sofa with her tablet to review plans. Under the morning light, her face looked cold and professional. The scene looked exactly like a CEO and her virtuous “wife.”
Jiang Mu felt like a third wheel. Seeing how obedient and thoughtful Su Yi’an was, he felt like finding a “Little Milk Alpha” for himself.
Since Jiang Mu had wasted the eggs, Su Yi’an made simple beef noodles using the leftovers from last night. Despite her irritation at the messy kitchen, she cleaned it up calmly. Jiang Mu was Sister’s friend and her doctor—she couldn’t lose her temper.
Soon, steaming bowls of beef noodles were served. Lan Yan, smelling the fragrance, realized she was hungry. “Thank you.” She was polite, but there was an unspoken distance that made Su Yi’an feel a bit lonely.
After breakfast, Lan Yan washed the dishes. There was no more reason to stay. Su Yi’an accepted Jiang Mu’s offer to drive her back to school. As they were leaving, the doorbell rang. It was the secretary with the clothes.
The secretary was stunned to see two people in the apartment. She knew Jiang Mu, but who was this beautiful young female Alpha? Is President Lan actually ‘keeping’ an Alpha student? “President Lan, here are the items,” the secretary said, her professional mask returning after a second.
“Okay.” Lan Yan took the bag.
Jiang Mu took his leave. “Lan Lan, we’re off. Let’s hang out again soon.”
“Goodbye, Sister,” Su Yi’an added.
The secretary waited until they were gone, then nervously said, “President, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head to the office.” She was terrified of knowing too much.
After they left, Lan Yan took a quick shower and changed. Looking at the bed—the thin quilt folded perfectly and the sheets without a single wrinkle—she couldn’t help but smile.
This girl she’d signed by chance was increasingly to her liking.
To my liking? Lan Yan’s expression froze for a second. She took the sheets and quilt and threw them into the washing machine.
Meanwhile, in the car:
“Little sister, how did you meet our Lan Lan?”
“What’s your major at Capital University? How do you know so many things?”
“By the way, did you know Lan Lan graduated from there too? She studied Business Management.”
Jiang Mu asked a string of questions to break the ice. Lan Yan had said this girl was introverted, and he suspected she’d never speak if he didn’t start.
“Outside the school gate,” Su Yi’an replied. “I accidentally dirtied Sister’s coat.”
