The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
“I’m going to the car!”
Lan Yan, clinging to a final shred of sanity, changed direction and stumbled toward the exit. The pheromone explosion was rapid—it wouldn’t even wait a minute, let alone for an ambulance. Already, several Alphas in the shop were starting to move toward her with glazed eyes.
It wasn’t just Lan Yan; the other Omegas in the shop were also suffering in the chaotic crossfire of scent. Fortunately, several Betas stepped in to help, giving the others a moment to react. The messy mix of various pheromones momentarily masked the pure grape fragrance.
The intensity made Su Yi’an feel nauseous. she grabbed He Xia’s hand just as it was reaching toward Lan Yin and stood up. She tossed her canvas bag to Lan Yin and the others, her voice chillingly calm: “There are blocking patches and suppressants inside. The outer pocket is for Alphas, the inner for Omegas. I’m going to save Sister.”
Lan Yin, currently disturbed by the mass of Alpha pheromones in the air, instinctively obeyed. She applied the patches and suppressants to herself and the others. Only after the restlessness subsided did she realize: Senior Su was a good fighter, but no matter how harmless she looked, she was still an Alpha.
And she had just run after a collapsing Omega without any protection.
A now-sober He Xia also realized the gravity of the situation. She looked at Lan Yin: “Xiao Su and the Aunt… they…”
Lan Yin gripped the suppressant in her hand and stood up abruptly. “We’re going over there.”
In the dim, narrow alleyway, two burly male Alphas followed a weak female Omega like rabid dogs.
Lan Yan’s cold, ascetic face was flushed deep crimson. A thin layer of sweat dampened her hair, making her look like a lotus flower just emerging from water—utterly captivating. Her eyes were losing focus, and she had to lean against the wall to keep from sliding to the ground.
Two bodyguards waiting in the shadows turned pale. They rushed out to restrain the frenzied Alphas.
“Damn it, President Lan’s pheromones are out of control again.”
“What do we do? The doctor said if it happened again, suppressants and patches would be useless.”
“We can stop these Alphas, but we can’t stop President Lan!”
Watching Lan Yan stumble closer and closer to the two revolting Alphas, the bodyguards were at a loss. They were Betas—they couldn’t smell the pheromones and were professionally trained, but this was the golden daughter of the Lan family. If something went wrong, losing their jobs would be the least of their worries.
“Can you handle these two alone? I’ll take her to the hospital.”
“I can, but by the time we get there, it’ll be too late, won’t it?”
As they argued, a clean, beautiful young female Alpha ran up. “Is Sister alright?” Her voice was steady and calm, like a cool spring rain dousing a fire.
The bodyguards exchanged a look, but before they could speak, they saw their usually unreachable, ice-cold boss wobble and fall right into the girl’s arms. Lan Yan clung to her desperately, her jade-white fingers digging into the girl’s clothes until her veins showed.
Su Yi’an’s breathing hitched. The corners of her eyes turned pink as she exercised extreme restraint to keep from crushing the person in her arms. A mellow, aged wine scent began to drift through the alley, laced with a hint of mango. Smelling this, Lan Yan lost the last of her reason. Her lips moved to the girl’s neck, leaving one visible mark after another, desperate for more pheromones.
“President Lan…” A bodyguard stepped forward to separate them. But Lan Yan, having finally found a “cool ice block” in her feverish state, wasn’t letting go.
“Get out!” Lan Yan snarled without looking back.
Her hot breath hit the crook of Su Yi’an’s neck, turning the girl’s entire face scarlet. Su Yi’an trembled, her mind flickering between clarity and desire. With a massive effort of will, she steadied her mind. “I’ll take Sister to the hospital.”
Her fingernails dug deep into her own palm to maintain focus, yet her face showed no pain. Aside from a slight tremor in her voice, she looked perfectly normal.
The bodyguards withdrew. No Alpha could remain this calm facing a woman as stunning as Lan Yan unless they weren’t an Alpha or were physically incapable. They recognized this girl as Lan Yin’s classmate; Lan Yan had even investigated her recently with rumors of wanting to “sponsor” her. The files said she had dual pheromones since childhood—perhaps that gave her resistance.
“Then we’ll leave it to you, Miss Su!”
Just then, the two male Alphas broke free from the guards and lunged like starving wolves. Su Yi’an adjusted her hold on Lan Yan, dodged the lunge, and sent one flying with a kick. Two loud thuds followed as the men hit the ground, groaning.
“Leave these two to us! Please hurry, Miss Su!”
Lan Yan’s world had narrowed down to the “ice block” she was holding. When Su Yi’an moved, Lan Yan thought she was leaving. Her misty eyes turned red, and she let out a soft, unprecedented whimper: “Help me…”
A warm, wet sensation brushed against the back of Su Yi’an’s neck. Su Yi’an nearly bit her tongue off in shock. “Sister, you… you can’t!”
That was her… she didn’t want to take advantage of her.
The alley was silent, save for their intertwined breathing and the frantic drumming of hearts. More wine-scented pheromones leaked out, drowning everything else. Lan Yan took a deep breath and bit down hard.
Sharp teeth pierced the skin. Su Yi’an let out a muffled groan, tears pricking her eyes from the sharp sting…
When Lan Yin and He Xia finally arrived, they saw the two of them standing silently by the car. The expected scene of chaos hadn’t happened; instead, it was unnervingly quiet.
Lan Yan’s pheromones were back under control. Her cold eyes held a rare trace of fluster. Su Yi’an, meanwhile, looked like a wilted eggplant, head lowered, fingers nervously twisting the hem of her shirt. Both of them were covered in the scent of the other’s pheromones.
The atmosphere was so bizarre that Lan Yin spoke cautiously: “Young Aunt, are you…”
“I’m fine. I’m going back. Lan Yin, take care of your classmates for me.” Lan Yan’s voice was steady, but her hurried movements into the car looked like a retreat.
After a few seconds, the window rolled down. Lan Yan’s expressionless face appeared. “Tomorrow… I will come find you.”
With a roar of the engine, the car sped away. Su Yi’an looked at the receding taillights, a faint, imperceptible smile touching her eyes. She knew those words were for her.
Next time we meet, Sister Grape will probably be bringing a contract.
Lan Yin was confused. Find me? Why did Auntie say she’d find me? She didn’t mention it before. And how did her pheromone disorder resolve so quickly? Unless… Lan Yin looked at Su Yi’an searchingly. He Xia also couldn’t resist: “Xiao Su, be honest. What’s going on with you and Auntie Lan Yan? I knew it was weird that you were the only one calling her ‘Sister’.”
Su Yi’an shook her head, using the excuse she’d prepared. “We met once at school. I got used to calling her ‘Sister’.”
Earlier, Sister Grape bit me, then offered her own neck to me, inducing me to give her a temporary marking. She’s probably blaming herself right now for ‘corrupting’ a pure young girl, Su Yi’an thought. She had to fight to keep the corners of her mouth from twitching upward.
He Xia nodded, believing her. From a visual standpoint, they were a match, but their status and age gap made a real connection seem impossible.
Lan Yin kept her eyes on Su Yi’an, not missing a single flicker of expression. “Then how did you solve the pheromone issue, Senior Su?”
Su Yi’an slowly pulled a suppressant and a patch from her pocket. She didn’t speak, but it explained everything.
Lan Yin breathed a silent sigh of relief. She couldn’t quite describe how she felt—partly relieved her aunt was okay, but also… She looked at Su Yi’an, her heart skipping a beat. Su Yi’an had just saved her. It wasn’t love yet, but she had never met an Alpha so unique.
