The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
The group hailed a cab back to the university, arriving near midnight.
After getting out of the car and standing outside the school gate, Su Yi’an’s gaze fell upon a 24-hour pharmacy nearby. Her mind stirred, and she began walking toward it. “You guys go back first. I need to buy some medicine.”
Her neck was covered in teeth marks left by Sister Grape, and her legs, hidden beneath her trousers, were covered in red welts—marks she had clawed into herself to restrain her physiological impulses while facing Lan Yan. Like the teeth marks, the skin there was broken and throbbed with a dull ache.
The most sensitive and injured area, however, was her vulnerable gland. If it hadn’t been for the dim night light and her long hair acting as a shield, Su Yi’an would have found it very difficult to explain herself.
He Xia had originally intended to walk the other girls back to their dorms, but seeing Su Yi’an’s actions, she spoke up despite the exhaustion: “I’ll go check on her. It’s settled then—let’s hang out again another day!”
The others didn’t think much of it, assuming Su Yi’an had been injured while dealing with those rabid male Alphas. As her roommate, He Xia couldn’t just leave her be, so she followed.
“Alright, see you later, seniors!” The girls expressed their understanding. They pulled Lan Yin along, casting lingering glances at Su Yi’an’s striking silhouette in the dark before walking into the campus.
Entrance to Beijing University was possible at any hour, but the real challenge was the dorm matron. Whether it was the undergraduate dorms or the graduate apartments, the doors were locked tight at 11:00 PM. Fortunately, Lan Yin, a senior in the Fine Arts department, was quite a prominent figure; teachers and matrons alike tended to give her face. At worst, they could crash at Lan Yin’s campus art studio for the night, so the girls weren’t worried at all.
“Hello, what can I get for you?”
The pharmacy was empty save for the clerk. As Su Yi’an and He Xia walked in one after the other, the drowsy clerk snapped awake.
Su Yi’an paused. “Anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine. For external use.”
The clerk skillfully pulled several boxes from the shelves behind him. Looking at the two of them, his expression turned peculiar. “All our non-prescription anti-inflammatories are here. The prices go from left to right, lowest to highest. Which one do you need?”
In all his time working at the pharmacy, this was the first time he’d seen two female Alphas coming in late at night to buy this kind of medicine. Could it be… the legendary AA romance? His eyes drifted to Su Yi’an’s ear, catching a glimpse of the faint teeth marks, which confirmed his suspicions.
He couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pity. The prettier one must be the ‘bottom’ (shou). If the other Omegas knew, they’d be heartbroken for days.
Su Yi’an didn’t catch the clerk’s subtle expression. Her hand reached for the far right, paused, and then naturally shifted to the far left. She picked up the cheapest box. “This one. How much?”
“Five yuan,” the clerk replied.
Su Yi’an nodded and reached into her pocket for money.
He Xia frowned, disapprovingly catching Su Yi’an’s hand. “Take the one on the right. My treat.”
Xiao Su had been injured protecting them. Knowing she was broke, He Xia—as her roommate—wasn’t about to let her do the work and pay the bill.
Su Yi’an’s lips twitched slightly, but she ultimately said nothing. She uncomfortably withdrew her hand, took the more expensive medicine, and let He Xia pay. Fine, let her pay. I’ll pay her back once I successfully win over Sister Grape.
Su Yi’an disliked being touched by others. The awkwardness she showed while pulling her hand away was interpreted by the clerk as shyness. He shook his head, but his eyes sparkled. To be honest, this AA couple is quite ship-worthy.
After paying, He Xia turned around and saw a flash of red on Su Yi’an’s neck under the bright lights. Just as she moved to look closer, Su Yi’an turned, and the red mark was once again hidden by her long hair.
“Xiao Su, what’s that on your neck?” He Xia asked as they stepped out.
“Someone bit me,” Su Yi’an replied, her face unreadable. She had been perfectly willing to be bitten by Sister Grape. Her only regret was not being able to kiss those fragrant, grape-scented lips; she hadn’t dared to be so bold.
“Oh, right!” He Xia naturally assumed Su Yi’an had been bitten by those rabid male Alphas who had followed Lan Yan. After all, Lan Yan didn’t look like the type to bite people. Furthermore, traditionally, Alphas bit Omegas to mark them—who had ever heard of an Omega biting an Alpha?
She immediately gave a thumbs-up in admiration. “You’re really something, Xiao Su. Two fights in one night, and you won them both. You’ve worked hard!”
Su Yi’an remained silent. If Sister Grape allowed it, I could work much harder.
As they entered the campus and saw a trash can by the path, Su Yi’an could no longer hold it back. She leaned one hand against a tree and vomited.
He Xia was stunned. Disregarding the mess, she ran over and patted Su Yi’an’s back. “Xiao Su! Did you get some kind of internal injury from the fight? Or… are you drunk on milk?”
They hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol, so He Xia could only think of those two possibilities.
Su Yi’an waved her off, signaling for her to step back. After vomiting a few more times until her stomach was empty of the meat she’d eaten earlier, her complexion finally improved. “I’m fine!”
Drunk on milk, my foot. She was just used to eating very little at night; eating so much at once had caused her stomach to rebel.
Seeing that Su Yi’an’s voice was full of energy and she showed no signs of internal trauma, He Xia was surprised and reached a conclusion: “This is the first time I’ve seen someone ‘drunk on milk.’ Xiao Su, do all beautiful people have such strange quirks? You’re obsessed with grapes and you get drunk on milk. No wonder those juniors call you a Little Milk Alpha.”
Su Yi’an: “…”
By the time they reached the apartment building, the doors were locked. After He Xia’s persistent wheedling and pestering, the matron finally let them in.
Back in the dorm, Su Yi’an went straight to the bathroom. She pulled out the ointment, lifted her hair in front of the mirror, and meticulously applied it to the teeth marks until every wound was covered. She wanted to keep the marks Sister Grape had left, but she was afraid of being discovered or having Lan Yan think she was being too intentional. Fortunately, the ointment didn’t smell too bad.
Perhaps because of He Xia’s constant chatter, Su Yi’an’s dreams that night featured not just grapes, but a vast expanse of pure white. She dreamt she was drinking milk until she was sweating, dizzy, and nearly “drunk to death” in her sleep.
July was exceptionally hot. At 3:00 AM, He Xia was woken by the heat. She got up, turned on the light, and downed two cups of water from the dispenser to quench her thirst. Just as she was about to head back to sleep, Su Yi’an kicked off her blanket and started mumbling in her sleep.
Su Yi’an was wearing a thin, coarse nightgown. With her movement, things that shouldn’t be seen were revealed, making He Xia feel a wave of envy. That skin, those legs, that waist… is this really an Alpha’s body? Comparison truly is the thief of joy.
But what was she saying? “Grape juice”? Or “Milk”?
He Xia leaned in quietly to listen, but accidentally kicked a chair. Su Yi’an snapped awake. From her position on the bed, she looked down and locked eyes with He Xia. Both immediately looked away.
Su Yi’an pulled her gown down to cover her legs and waist. Thinking of the dream she just had, her ears turned a deep crimson. Did He Xia hear something?
He Xia recovered quickly and asked gossipingly, “Xiao Su, do you really like grape juice that much? You’re even drinking it in your dreams?”
We’re both Alphas, why am I acting so shifty? He Xia thought. It was just that Xiao Su was so beautiful she almost forgot her gender—especially now, without her glasses, she looked stunning yet sharp.
Su Yi’an felt a wave of heat wash over her. To hide it, she grabbed her phone from the nightstand. “It’s only 3:00 AM… it’s so hot!”
He Xia had clearly heard her, but fortunately, she didn’t know the “grapes” in the dream weren’t actual grapes.
“Yeah, the heat woke me up too. No wonder you’re dreaming of juice.” He Xia’s attention was diverted, and she grumbled as she climbed back into bed.
Su Yi’an looked at her phone and realized she had a new WeChat message. It was from Lan Yan, sent an hour ago, asking if she had classes tomorrow morning. She had been asleep then.
Is Sister Grape suffering from insomnia?
Su Yi’an instinctively wanted to reply, but after typing one character, she realized it was too late. She decided to wait until morning.
She lay back down but couldn’t sleep. At 6:00 AM sharp, she sent the words: “No.”
The reply came almost instantly: “Don’t eat breakfast. I’ll pick you up at 8:00. We’re going to the Municipal Hospital.”
Municipal Hospital? Is Sister Grape taking me for a physical?
Before signing a “contract,” a check-up was indeed necessary. Su Yi’an knew her health was perfect, but Sister Grape didn’t.
Su Yi’an lowered her gaze and typed: “Okay.” Two seconds later, she added: “Sister, you’re up so early!”
Lan Yan’s reply was brief: “I wasn’t.”
Su Yi’an’s heart tightened as she sat bolt upright. That meant… she hadn’t slept all night?
