The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
He Xia wasn’t hungry, but she was exceptionally enthusiastic about food. As the group headed toward the night market, she proactively recommended a BBQ joint tucked away in a deep alley. “I just checked it on Meituan—not a single bad review! They say the flavor is amazing and the seafood is incredibly fresh!”
“Really? Then I’ve got to give it a proper taste in a bit.”
“Didn’t you just say you were full?”
“No, no, no. Girls have two stomachs. Right, Sister Lan?”
“I suppose so!”
“One must never fail to appreciate good food and beautiful people.”
Along the way, everyone chatted happily about food; even Lan Yin was infected by the mood. Had it not been for the presence of Lan Yan—the somewhat cold and imposing elder—they might have been even rowdier.
Su Yi’an, who had been the first to claim she was hungry, was now so quiet she didn’t utter a single word, looking as though she truly was just hungry and significantly more reserved than the others. This successfully dispelled Lan Yan’s suspicions.
Perhaps young people really are just this passionate and pure, Lan Yan thought. To be honest, this little girl seemed quite shy compared to her peers.
The BBQ shop wasn’t far, but once they arrived, the environment proved to be a concern. Not only was it packed with all sorts of people, but the floor was littered with debris. There were seats available, but they felt completely out of place for a polished, suit-clad ice beauty like Lan Yan.
“Young Aunt, maybe we should find another place?” Lan Yin, knowing her aunt’s germaphobia, asked worriedly. Unlike her, who was raised with a “free-range” parenting style, her aunt had grown up pampered and loathed filth and chaos. This was likely her aunt’s first time in a place like this.
Lan Yan looked at the stools, which were already stained with oil, and shook her head while suppressing her discomfort. “This is fine.” She didn’t want to ruin the younger generation’s enthusiasm or dampen their mood. At worst, she would just eat very little or nothing at all.
Sensing Lan Yan’s hesitation, Su Yi’an silently pulled out some napkins and wiped the table and stools over and over again until every visible trace of oil was gone.
“Please, sit.” She didn’t address Lan Yan specifically.
The other girls pulled Lan Yin down with them, sitting happily. “Thanks, Senior Su!” Lan Yin’s face reddened slightly. Was Senior Su looking at me just now?
Lan Yan’s furrowed brow smoothed out as she finally stepped toward the stool. The girl is quite thoughtful. Not bad. It was impossible not to feel a sense of goodwill toward someone like that, and Lan Yan was no exception.
Because she and Su Yi’an were the last to sit, they ended up right next to each other. The place was crowded, so they were practically shoulder-to-shoulder. With He Xia on her left and Lan Yan on her right, Su Yi’an felt the warmth of that soft, fragrant body for the second time. Her heart nearly leaped out of her chest, and she had to use every ounce of strength to maintain her composure.
He Xia nudged Su Yi’an’s shoulder with a look of grandmotherly pride. “Not bad, Xiao Su! I thought you were a steel-straight Alpha, but you have such a meticulous side. Good, good—there’s hope for you to escape being single!”
Su Yi’an frowned at the physical contact and the first half of the sentence, but the second half left her feeling extremely satisfied. Keeping her head down, she cast an inconspicuous glance at Lan Yan. What others thought didn’t matter, as long as Sister Grape liked it.
“What would you all like to drink?” The wait was going to be long, and Lan Yan felt uneasy in this environment. To ease the awkwardness, she addressed the group.
“Sour plum juice!”
“Orange juice!”
“Sprite!”
“Coke!”
“I’ll have a sour plum juice too!” The girls answered without hesitation.
He Xia, busy whispering to Su Yi’an, didn’t answer in time. Lan Yan turned her head. “And you two?”
He Xia blurted out, “Coke is fine for me. Xiao Su likes grape juice—I wonder if they have any?”
Grape juice…
Yes, she wanted grape juice most of all. She also wanted to eat grapes.
God knows what she was thinking, but Su Yi’an’s face gradually flushed a deep, beautiful rose color, as vibrant as a sunset. Thanks to her thick glasses, the emotions in her eyes remained hidden. Su Yi’an pressed her legs together; she could clearly feel her pheromones leaking out more. Fortunately, the BBQ shop already smelled strongly of alcohol, or she would have lost her composure in front of her “sister” again.
Lan Yan didn’t think much of it and simply asked the owner. After being told they didn’t have it, she said to Su Yi’an, “No grape juice. How about something else?”
“Okay,” Su Yi’an whispered, her head lowered. Her voice was slightly raspy, making her look incredibly well-behaved.
Lan Yan felt a stir in her heart and teased playfully, “How about Wangzai Milk?” She had just heard the other girls calling Su Yi’an a “Little Milk Alpha,” and she did find her current appearance quite “milky.”
Su Yi’an looked up at her in shock, her face still flushed.
Lan Yan quickly realized she might have been too informal. She tucked away her smile and said seriously, “Or do you prefer Sprite or Coke? But the meat you ordered is quite greasy; I think Wangzai cuts through the grease better.”
He Xia and the other girls burst out laughing. “Wangzai is great! It suits her!”
“Wangzai it is, then,” Su Yi’an’s face turned even redder. Was Sister Grape implying I’m a ‘milk’ Alpha? Su Yi’an looked at her own long, slender fingers, an unreadable light flickering in her eyes.
Lan Yin watched her aunt with surprise. Is it just me, or is Young Aunt acting weird today? She’s usually not the type to joke with strangers.
Ultimately, the owner brought a crate of canned Wangzai—enough for everyone. When the BBQ arrived, Su Yi’an ate quietly, downing more meat than everyone else combined. It was impossible not to believe she was truly starving.
He Xia laughed. “I told you! You ate so little earlier; you were bound to be hungry. Luckily we ran into Auntie Lan Yan, otherwise you’d be starving back at the dorm.”
“Mm,” Su Yi’an replied, her mouth never stopping.
Watching her eat, Lan Yan—who hadn’t planned on touching a single piece of meat—picked up her chopsticks and tried a piece of lamb. To her surprise, it was delicious. Her eyes lit up, and she took another piece. The pork kidney was good too, and the chives were tasty.
But as she ate, Lan Yan felt the back of her neck begin to burn. Her expression changed drastically. She dropped her chopsticks and stood up, grabbing her bag. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom!”
She had almost forgotten—these foods were “heating” in nature, and her pheromones could no longer withstand even the slightest external interference. This was exactly why Lan Yan hated being an Omega.
The moment Lan Yan stood up, a grape fragrance so thick it was intoxicating flooded the room. Every Alpha in the BBQ shop began to lose their grip on reality. Except for Su Yi’an, even He Xia’s eyes were turning red as she stared at Lan Yan.
“Oh no!” Lan Yin’s voice cracked, tears of panic springing to her eyes. “Quick! Call an ambulance! My aunt… she’s…”
