The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
“Hello, may I borrow a few napkins to wipe my clothes?”
Su Yi’an walked into the restaurant, but instead of heading straight for Lan Yin, she politely asked the girl sitting next to her. Her intent wasn’t obvious, which even confused He Xia, who had hurried in after her.
He Xia looked at the stain on Su Yi’an’s T-shirt and had a sudden realization. So that’s it. She thought Su Yi’an, who seemed disinterested in any Omega at first, had suddenly changed her nature, but it turned out she just wanted a napkin.
Confirmed: Xiao Su is a grape-obsessed, steel-straight Alpha.
He Xia sighed internally. No wonder she was so pretty yet didn’t have an Omega. It probably wasn’t just because she was poor; He Xia seriously suspected Su Yi’an would rather sleep cuddling a bunch of grapes than talk to an Omega.
Sigh, with such an introverted personality, Xiao Su will never find an Omega. It looks like if our dorm is going to escape being single, I’ll have to work twice as hard.
“Here!” The girl’s eyes flickered with a hint of disappointment as she handed a pack of tissues to Su Yi’an.
“Thank you.” Su Yi’an didn’t say anything extra. She took the tissues, wiped the stain off her shirt, and turned to leave.
He Xia got anxious and pulled her back, taking the initiative to speak to the group: “Hello, juniors! We’re first-year Chemistry grad students from Beijing University. I’m He Xia, and this is my roommate, Su Yi’an!”
Lan Yin and her friends were all seniors, so calling them “juniors” was appropriate. Su Yi’an’s body stiffened slightly, but with her back to the crowd, the corners of her mouth curled up.
Hearing this, the eyes of the girls at the table lit up. They enthusiastically greeted them: “Oh, you’re seniors! Are you here for hotpot too? Why don’t we share a table?”
“Sister Lan, right?” one girl asked, nudging Lan Yin.
Lan Yin gave a soft smile, her dimples appearing faintly. She looked like a fairy, seeming to take everyone into her gaze while remaining detached. “Yes, join us.”
Su Yi’an’s eyes darkened as she lowered her head. This gentle, warm smile was different from her Sister Grape’s; it lacked that touch of coldness and ruthlessness. Despite their similar faces, she still preferred the other one.
“Great, great! Since we’ve met, it’s fate. My treat, haha!” He Xia was overjoyed. Ignoring Su Yi’an’s resistance, she pulled her down to sit, blinking furiously at her: Xiao Su, help me out. It’s hard to find an Omega these days. If I don’t find one now, it’ll be even harder once we leave school. You wouldn’t have the heart to see your roommate single for life, right?
He Xia could tell the girls’ eyes were glued to Su Yi’an, so Su Yi’an couldn’t be allowed to leave. A dorm should escape being single together. She didn’t dare dream of someone like Lan Yin—a gentle, wealthy socialite—but the others were good too. She had to start interacting to have a chance. She didn’t want to be single until graduation and then be forced into a blind date by her parents.
From the moment they sat down until the food arrived, Su Yi’an barely spoke. She only gave serious, short answers when someone asked her a question. For most of the meal, she quietly ate the vegetables; she didn’t touch the beef and ate very little overall.
In this weather, eating hotpot made it hard for Su Yi’an’s face not to turn red. The girls took this as shyness, which only made them more interested. An Alpha like this was truly rare—perhaps the legendary “Science and Engineering Straight Alpha”—but she was surprisingly likable and even cute.
Mostly, she was just too beautiful and her aura was too pure. Her fair skin and red lips made her look more delicate than the Omegas present. Even sitting there quietly, she commanded attention. Her dining etiquette was also impeccable—no wasted movements, a refined demeanor like an aristocratic lady from a manga. It felt slightly at odds with her cheap clothes, yet somehow it all fit perfectly.
So well-behaved, so cute! the girls screamed internally.
“Does Senior Su have a girlfriend?” halfway through the meal, one girl finally couldn’t help but ask.
The table went silent. Except for Lan Yin, the girls looked at Su Yi’an expectantly.
Su Yi’an slowly wiped her lips with a napkin and smiled. “Not a girlfriend… for now.”
The implication: she had someone she liked. As she spoke, Su Yi’an’s peripheral vision caught Lan Yin’s familiar features. For a fleeting second, she imagined Sister Grape in a suit beckoning her, and the tenderness in her eyes almost overflowed. She had to take a sip of the chilled grape juice to hide it.
When it came to things related to Sister Grape, her acting was actually quite poor. Just like when Sister Grape asked if she liked her at the bar, she hadn’t dared to look her in the eyes for fear of exposing herself. Aside from the lies told to hide her identity, she didn’t want to deceive her; all her physical reactions were genuine.
The girls felt a bit down hearing that, but still holding onto a sliver of hope, one took out her phone. “Can we add you on WeChat, Senior?” As long as she wasn’t officially taken, there was still a chance.
Su Yi’an wanted to refuse, but He Xia agreed first: “Of course! Meeting is being friends. Come on, let’s all add each other.”
Everyone looked at the indifferent Su Yi’an. She had no choice but to take out her phone and add everyone present—using an account she rarely used.
Su Yi’an’s momentary emotional slip-up had been caught by Lan Yin, who was an S-class Omega. Lan Yin glanced at her curiously while adding her on WeChat. That expression… does she like me, or is she looking through me at someone else?
Lan Yin shook it off. Many people liked her; one more didn’t matter. She wanted to learn from her young aunt: focus on her dreams and treat Alphas as non-entities. She didn’t want to be a useless person controlled by pheromones and dependent on an Alpha.
If all else failed, her family had arranged a “childhood betrothal” for her. Although she had never met the person, her parents often mentioned her—saying her fiancée was wealthy, capable, beautiful, born on the same day as her, and had never been in a relationship. If they got along and her pheromones became an issue later, she could go to her as a fallback. For now, she was young and didn’t want to think about it.
Sensing Lan Yin’s gaze, Su Yi’an’s heart skipped a beat. Did she notice? But when she looked back, Lan Yin was just picking up her chopsticks again, smiling gently. “Is that all you’re eating, Senior?”
“I’m not hungry.” Su Yi’an looked away.
“She’s not hungry, but I am! Boss, two more orders of beef! What else do you girls want to drink?” He Xia was talkative and quickly took over the conversation, making the atmosphere lively again.
The meal lasted nearly two hours. By 9:00 PM, the sky was dark. Besides their table, only two male Betas remained in the restaurant.
“So full! The food here is great; let’s do this again sometime!” He Xia stood up first to pay the bill.
The cashier was by the entrance. Not paying attention, He Xia bumped into four bald, drunken men who had just walked in. One was an A-class Alpha and the other three were Betas—all burly and fierce-looking.
“Sorry,” He Xia apologized quickly.
“Get lost!” The drunk leading the pack pushed her aside. His eyes lit up with a predatory gleam when he saw Lan Yin’s group. “Brothers, look at those students. So fresh. Let’s drag them to the back alley later…”
The other three strode over. One reached out to touch Lan Yin’s back. “Hey little sisters, why don’t you play with us?”
He Xia was furious and about to rush forward, but the owner stopped her: “They’re local thugs, heard they have connections. Don’t provoke them. Just call the police and leave!”
Lan Yin frowned and stood up in displeasure. “Let’s go!” She had thought eating with classmates at the school gate would be safe, so she’d dismissed her bodyguards. She hadn’t expected to run into such filth. Knowing they only had He Xia and Su Yi’an—who looked fragile—she decided to endure it for safety’s sake.
Lan Yin stepped back, but the drunks became more emboldened. Just as they were about to grab the girls, the silent Su Yi’an suddenly stepped forward. With one punch, she sent one of the drunks flying a meter away.
“You damn pretty-boy, you dare move against us?” The remaining three drunks roared. They grabbed chairs and beer bottles, swinging them at Su Yi’an with vicious intent.
Lan Yin and He Xia were stunned but instinctively moved to help.
“Don’t move!” Su Yi’an barked. Alone and bare-handed, she flattened the three drunks in less than a minute. She looked at the men howling on the floor and silently used her mental pressure to effectively “neuter” their lower halves. Scum like this only existed to harm others.
Everyone was frozen in shock. It took a long time for He Xia to find her voice: “Xiao Su… you… you’re amazing!”
“So Alpha! I like her even more now!” The girls’ faces were flushed red with excitement.
“Sister Lan, Sister Lan… isn’t she so handsome?” one girl asked, pulling on a dazed Lan Yin. Lan Yin’s ears turned red, and she nodded softly.
Su Yi’an wiped her hands and gave a shy smile. “I studied martial arts for a few years in the countryside. Sorry, did I scare you? I just can’t stand people using their physical advantage to bully Omegas.”
“No, not at all!” The girls stared at her with star-struck eyes. This “milk-Alpha” who looked soft actually had muscles? Those smooth lines, that tight waist, and the faint scent of mango and wine in the air were intoxicating.
The police arrived quickly and took everyone to the station for statements. By the time they finished, another hour had passed.
“Sister Lan, are you unhappy?” someone asked as they walked out of the station.
Lan Yin shook her head with a forced smile. “My young aunt is here.” Her parents would definitely lecture her for hours now. How did her aunt find out so quickly? Someone must have snitched.
Young aunt? As Su Yi’an felt a sense of oddity, a sports car pulled up in front of them. The door opened, and a pair of long, straight legs stepped out. The faint, crisp scent of grapes drifted through the air.
It was heart-stirring.
