Scorching gasps escaped from between her lips
Her lips lingered on Chi Jingyan’s fingertips.
In a daze, Chi Jingyan had the illusion that Jiang Mengyu might actually open her mouth the next second, bite off her flesh, and swallow her whole.
Chi Jingyan’s fingers trembled slightly. She tried to pull her wrist back, but her fingers were tightly grasped in Jiang Mengyu’s palm, unable to escape even an inch.
Chi Jingyan bit her lip and gasped, commanding, “Let go!”
Of course, Jiang Mengyu wouldn’t listen to her.
Her kisses fell one after another on Chi Jingyan’s knuckles and the back of her hand, making Chi Jingyan feel as if she were being scalded. Her hand grew numb, almost as if it no longer belonged to her.
Jiang Mengyu lowered her head, inhaling the fragrance from Chi Jingyan’s hand, the sweet, cloying scent of pear lychee wine, seamlessly intertwined with her own jasmine aroma, making her heartbeat race violently.
Chi Jingyan only saw the person before her bowing her head, exposing the vulnerable nape of her neck. Jiang Mengyu pressed her cheek against Chi Jingyan’s fingers, her lips occasionally brushing lightly against Chi Jingyan’s fingertips.
Chi Jingyan instinctively flexed her fingers, only to unexpectedly feel a damp, sinking sensation. With her movement, the person beneath her palm gasped sharply, the trailing note hoarse and lingering.
Chi Jingyan knew Jiang Mengyu was skilled with guns, but she hadn’t expected her to be equally talented in the art of seduction.
She bit her lower lip tightly, staring unblinkingly at Jiang Mengyu, the Alpha kneeling at her feet, her enchanting face tinged with a faint flush, like the spilled hues of sunset, making the small mole at the corner of her eye appear even more vivid.
Her eyes, originally dark and deep, were now tinged with a dazed haze, brimming with scorching affection and deep longing.
Jiang Mengyu cradled Chi Jingyan’s hand. Though her grip was strong, her posture was unmistakably submissive, as if she were offering herself entirely to Chi Jingyan without reservation.
Unable to pull free, Chi Jingyan simply gave up the attempt. Pressing her lips together, she instead pinched Jiang Mengyu’s chin with her fingers.
Jiang Mengyu didn’t resist. Forced to tilt her chin up by Chi Jingyan’s movement, she exposed her slender, seemingly fragile neck.
Chi Jingyan watched intently as Jiang Mengyu’s eyes reddened. Her own breathing was erratic, yet she still curled her lips mockingly and sneered, “Do you know what you look like right now?”
Jiang Mengyu allowed Chi Jingyan to grip her, silently enveloping her in her pheromones, ensuring every inch of Chi Jingyan was forcibly tainted with her scent.
The Alpha’s domineering possessiveness was on full display at this moment.
“What do I look like?” Jiang Mengyu asked softly.
Chi Jingyan mercilessly replied, “Shameless.”
What kind of decent Alpha would sneak into someone else’s room in the middle of the night, seducing them with beauty and pheromones?
Hearing this, Jiang Mengyu showed no trace of shame. Instead, her gaze grew even bolder, almost blatantly unrestrained.
“Ah Yan,” she murmured, her lips parting slightly as she exhaled softly. “Then… do you like it?”
“How could I?!” Chi Jingyan instinctively retorted.
How could she possibly like Jiang Mengyu?!
Chi Jingyan recoiled her hand as if she had been electrocuted, swiftly pulling away. “Enough,” she said, turning her head to the side, leaving only her profile visible to Jiang Mengyu. “Let’s call it a night here.”
“You should leave now.”
Chi Jingyan believed she had already been more than tolerant. In the past, she would never have allowed Jiang Mengyu to be so audacious. Tonight was merely a concession, a small indulgence to placate the mad dog, given her recent foul mood. After all, Jiang Mengyu’s performance in front of Chi Jia today had left Chi Jingyan somewhat satisfied.
But Jiang Mengyu had no intention of letting things end there. Sneaking into Chi Jingyan’s room in the dark wasn’t just about brushing against her fingers.
Jiang Mengyu pushed herself up, shifting from a submissive position to one where she loomed over Chi Jingyan. Suddenly, Chi Jingyan sensed a dangerous aura, the jasmine fragrance that had been lingering around her now carried an aggressive edge. Yet, she forced herself not to show any fear. “You!”
Before she could finish, the person before her moved abruptly. Jiang Mengyu bent one knee, planting it beside Chi Jingyan’s thigh, while her arm braced against the sofa’s armrest, effectively trapping Chi Jingyan beneath her.
Chi Jingyan’s back pressed tightly against the sofa. Her breath hitched slightly, her voice laced with involuntary panic and anger. “Jiang Mengyu!”
Jiang Mengyu responded softly, “Hmm.”
Chi Jingyan kicked at her. “What do you think you’re doing?! Don’t forget we’re in the family estate!”
Jiang Mengyu didn’t budge, letting Chi Jingyan’s foot connect solidly with her leg. It wasn’t the first time she’d been kicked by Chi Jingyan, the worst instance had left a bruise that still hadn’t fully faded. Compared to that, tonight’s kick was nothing more than a tickle.
“If we weren’t in the family estate, would it be okay then?”
Her tone was serious, but her actions told a different story. That pale, strong hand reached for Chi Jingyan’s chin. When Chi Jingyan turned her face away to evade, Jiang Mengyu didn’t withdraw. Instead, her fingers trailed upward, teasing Chi Jingyan’s earlobe with a lazy yet intimate touch. The innate mischief in her was now laid bare before Chi Jingyan.
“Ah-Yan, you smell so good.”
Chi Jingyan was practically drowning in the scent of jasmine.
“Get lost!”
Furious, Chi Jingyan raised her hand to slap her, but Jiang Mengyu caught her wrist with lightning reflexes. Gazing down at Chi Jingyan’s flushed face, Jiang Mengyu sighed, her voice tinged with admiration. “Even when you’re angry, you’re so beautiful.”
Chi Jingyan had been called beautiful before, but never had it made her skin crawl like this. There was something about Jiang Mengyu’s words that felt far from a simple compliment.
Her suspicions were soon confirmed.
Jiang Mengyu leaned in closer, her voice feather-light. “Ah-Yan, I’ve been holding back. You told me not to disturb you, so I minimized my presence to avoid irritating you.”
“But you’re still unhappy.”
As she spoke, Jiang Mengyu drew nearer, her face hovering just inches above Chi Jingyan’s, no more than three fingers’ width apart. Chi Jingyan’s breath grew labored. She wanted to turn her head away, to escape Jiang Mengyu’s intense gaze, but her body refused to move. All she could do was stare back, helplessly tilting her chin upward.
“Ah Yan.” Jiang Mengyu’s gaze lingered between Chi Jingyan’s brows. “Why aren’t you happy?”
Chi Jingyan pursed her thin lips. “I’m fine.”
“You’re lying.” Jiang Mengyu mercilessly called her out. “Yesterday, Chu Muyao brought you breakfast, and you didn’t eat it. Today at lunch, she spoke to you thirteen times, and you only replied three.”
Chi Jingyan’s expression froze, a mix of shame from being caught in a lie and an inexplicable, secret delight.
So Jiang Mengyu did care about her after all. Remembering such minute details meant she cared deeply.
“What’s it to you?” Chi Jingyan retorted stubbornly.
“I love you.” Jiang Mengyu brushed her thumb over Chi Jingyan’s wrist. “So I want you to be happy, even if it makes me miserable. I don’t mind.”
“But it seems that’s not how things are.”
Jiang Mengyu’s tone shifted. “No matter what I do, you’re never happy.”
“In that case…”
“Ah Yan, maybe I should stop worrying about what you think and just do what makes me happy.”
Panic surged through Chi Jingyan.
Jiang Mengyu’s breath fanned across her face like embers on dry grass, igniting a scorching heat in an instant, leaving Chi Jingyan’s body weak.
“No…”
She struggled feebly.
Why was her body so powerless when it wasn’t even her sensitive period?!
Chi Jingyan immediately thought of Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones.
She must be controlling her!
“Jiang Mengyu! You bastard!”
Miss Chi was sharp-tongued in sarcasm but lacked bite when it came to insults.
She didn’t know how to swear, recycling the same few words idiot, bastard, mad dog.
Jiang Mengyu was tired of hearing them.
