- Chapter 20.1 - The Cannon Fodder Alpha Secretly in Love with the Female Lead Omega (17)
Rewarding the Obedient Puppy with a Little Sweetness.
Jiang Mengyu removed the disposable gloves from her hands and turned to leave the room.
She knew Chi Jingyan was watching, and she also knew Chi Jingyan was doing it on purpose.
After this ordeal, Chi Jia would probably wish she could skin Jiang Mengyu alive. Even if Jiang Mengyu were to betray Chi Jingyan one day, she could never team up with Chi Jia again.
Was she afraid Jiang Mengyu would conspire with Chi Jia against her?
Jiang Mengyu’s expression remained indifferent as she walked out the door, leaving Chi Jia behind, still gasping for breath.
Chi Jingyan wasn’t cruel enough to actually send someone to humiliate Chi Jia. She had merely injected Chi Jia with the same drug and had her bodyguards film Chi Jia’s disheveled state.
Jiang Mengyu had little interest in it. Apart from the main characters, she had no curiosity about anyone else in this world. Whether Chi Jia suffered or not was none of her concern.
Chi Jingyan had specifically assigned two bodyguards to follow Jiang Mengyu. Jiang Mengyu bent down and got into the car without a word, and the bodyguards remained silent as well, creating an unusually quiet atmosphere inside the vehicle.
Upon reaching their destination, the two bodyguards escorted her all the way to the door before stopping.
Jiang Mengyu used her fingerprint to unlock the door. As soon as she cracked it open slightly, a familiar fragrance wafted out.
She paused, glancing sideways at the bodyguards behind her. Their expressions remained unchanged, seemingly unaffected.
Jiang Mengyu closed the door behind her with a swift motion, ensuring Chi Jingyan’s pheromones didn’t leak further outside.
No one was in the living room. Following the scent, Jiang Mengyu eventually found Chi Jingyan in the study.
Chi Jingyan was curled up in a chair, still dressed in thin sleepwear. Her exposed skin was pale yet flushed with a rosy hue, one arm casually draped over the armrest. Jiang Mengyu’s gaze swept over and noticed two empty used suppressant syringes on the desk.
“Feeling unwell again?” Jiang Mengyu reached out to check Chi Jingyan’s forehead, but Chi Jingyan tilted her head away to avoid the touch.
Jiang Mengyu withdrew her fingers slightly, about to pull her hand back, when Chi Jingyan’s strained voice spoke up, “Don’t touch me with the same hands that have touched someone else.”
Jiang Mengyu froze, lowering her eyes to meet Chi Jingyan’s displeased gaze. The young mistress was glaring at her unhappily, the scent of pear lychee wine lingering faintly around them but refusing to draw closer.
Jiang Mengyu sniffed her own sleeve. Having just returned from outside, her clothes indeed carried a mix of scents, including a trace of Chi Jia’s…
No wonder Chi Jingyan disliked it.
Jiang Mengyu lowered her arm. “I’ll go take a shower.”
Chi Jingyan didn’t respond, silently acquiescing.
By the time Jiang Mengyu finished showering quickly and stepped out, the concentration of pear lychee wine in the air had noticeably intensified. The spicy yet cloying aroma seeped into her nostrils, coaxing Jiang Mengyu to release her own pheromones.
Chi Jingyan was still in the study, unmoved. Her eyes were tightly shut, her usually proud and aloof face now tinged with an unnatural flush, her lips bitten red and swollen.
The moment Jiang Mengyu appeared at the study door, Chi Jingyan opened her eyes and looked straight at her, clearly having caught Jiang Mengyu’s scent.
A faint sheen of moisture glistened in her eyes, her voice even hoarser and shakier than before.
“Come here.”
Jiang Mengyu approached her, but when she was just two steps away from Chi Jingyan, Chi Jingyan impatiently grabbed her collar and yanked her forward.
In her fluster, Jiang Mengyu could only brace herself against the armrest of the chair to avoid crashing into Chi Jingyan.
Chi Jingyan tilted her head back to look at Jiang Mengyu. Their faces were so close that their breaths intertwined, the faint warmth of their exhales brushing against each other’s skin, sending tingles down their spines and intensifying the ambiguous tension between them.
Frowning, Chi Jingyan leaned in to sniff lightly at Jiang Mengyu’s neck. Only after confirming that Jiang Mengyu carried nothing but the scent of jasmine and the faint fragrance of shower gel did she finally relax her furrowed brow.
Perhaps finding the angle uncomfortable, Chi Jingyan released her grip and gave Jiang Mengyu’s calf a light kick with her bare foot. “Kneel properly.”
Her tone wasn’t harsh in fact, the words ended with a soft, breathy exhale. The kick wasn’t hard either, and Jiang Mengyu barely felt it.
She met Chi Jingyan’s gaze for a long moment before obediently lowering herself to one knee beside Chi Jingyan’s legs.
Chi Jingyan looked down at her, their eyes locking. For a fleeting moment, Chi Jingyan felt as though Jiang Mengyu’s dark, fathomless gaze was that of a predator poised to strike, its focus unwaveringly fixed on its prey.
And she was the prey.
Even though Jiang Mengyu knelt before her in submission, Chi Jingyan couldn’t shake the feeling that she was the one at a disadvantage.
The jasmine scent aggressively invaded her senses, wrapping around her tightly, leaving no room for escape.
Chi Jingyan pressed her lips together, a mix of irritation and mischief flashing in her eyes as she lightly pressed the tip of her foot against Jiang Mengyu’s thigh. Then, parting her lips slightly, she commanded, “Give me more of your pheromones.”
This wasn’t the first time she’d made such a request.
Compared to last night, Chi Jingyan’s tone was more casual and direct, as if she had come to see Jiang Mengyu as nothing more than a more effective suppressant. As long as Jiang Mengyu didn’t mark her or affect her body, Chi Jingyan didn’t care.
Besides, Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones worked far better than any suppressant.
The sensation against her thigh was warm and soft. Jiang Mengyu glanced down Chi Jingyan’s bare foot was pale, almost dazzling, the tips of her toes tinged with a faint blush. The slender curve of her calf above was equally exquisite.
She had only looked for a second before Chi Jingyan’s icy voice cut through the air. “What are you staring at?”
Jiang Mengyu lifted her gaze to find Chi Jingyan glaring at her, the young mistress’s expression dark.
“If you dare look where you shouldn’t, I’ll gouge your eyes out.”
Her threat was vicious, but the lingering flush on her cheeks undermined her ferocity, stripping away half its impact.
Jiang Mengyu paid no mind to her words.
Ignoring the foot resting on her thigh, she silently released more of her pheromones. After resting through the night, the pain in the gland at the back of her neck had dulled.
The rich jasmine scent instantly saturated the study, enveloping Chi Jingyan like a warm spring. She parted her lips slightly, exhaling softly as the flush on her cheeks deepened.
Jiang Mengyu caught the mingled fragrance of jasmine and snow pear lychee wine. Her own body was now steeped in Chi Jingyan’s pheromones though the wine-like scent was thoroughly overpowered by the jasmine, it stubbornly clung to her, as if determined to leave its mark.
Perhaps this was the innate aggression carved into an Alpha’s bones.
Even as Chi Jingyan was demanding her pheromones, it didn’t change the fact that she was an Alpha. Jiang Mengyu remembered that Alphas instinctively sought to mark Omegas with high compatibility.
She knew full well she wasn’t an Omega, but her compatibility with Chi Jingyan reached 100%. Would Chi Jingyan want to mark her?
Jiang Mengyu stared fixedly at Chi Jingyan, who didn’t close her eyes either, instead gazing unblinkingly back into hers. The two locked eyes in silence for a long while. Though physically separated by distance, their pheromones intertwined intimately.
Jiang Mengyu looked down again at the foot resting on her thigh, the faint blue veins clearly visible on its surface. After a few seconds, she suddenly reached out and grasped Chi Jingyan’s ankle.
