- Chapter 15 - The Cannon Fodder Alpha Secretly in Love with the Female Lead Omega (12)
“I want to mark you, Ah Yan.”
The conversation ended in silence between the two.
This apartment was one of Chi Jingyan’s regular residences. She disliked having people around at home, so the housekeeper usually only came during the day. Initially, Secretary Zhao had considered arranging two people to take care of her due to Chi Jingyan’s condition, but she refused.
Chi Jingyan glanced at Jiang Mengyu and said, “Isn’t there someone here already?”
Secretary Zhao hesitated, feeling that this Jiang classmate didn’t seem very reliable.
Moreover, her pheromones were highly unusual, and the young miss was in her sensitive period. What if she took advantage of the situation to do something to her…
Chi Jingyan was very prideful and absolutely didn’t want another person to witness her vulnerable state during her sensitive period. Jiang Mengyu was already an exception.
She waved her hand. “You can go now.”
In the end, Secretary Zhao had no choice but to comply and leave. The room was now left with only Chi Jingyan and Jiang Mengyu.
Chi Jingyan was still a bit awkward, but Jiang Mengyu had already returned to her usual demeanor.
“Are you still feeling unwell?” she asked Chi Jingyan.
Chi Jingyan paused for a moment before finally accepting the out Jiang Mengyu offered. “I’m fine.”
She tried to stand up to return to her room but staggered, her legs so weak she nearly collapsed back onto the couch.
Jiang Mengyu moved to support her but was stopped by Chi Jingyan’s sharp gaze.
“Don’t touch me.”
She wasn’t so weak that she needed help.
Chi Jingyan straightened her back and walked toward the master bedroom under Jiang Mengyu’s watchful eyes. When she reached the door, she stopped and casually pointed to the guest room. “You’ll sleep there.”
Jiang Mengyu had thought she’d be relegated to the sofa.
Chi Jingyan averted her gaze and said nothing more, stepping into her room and slamming the door shut behind her.
Leaving Jiang Mengyu standing alone in the living room.
She stood silently for a long moment before raising a hand to touch the back of her neck, where her soft gland still throbbed dully.
In her mind, System 031 cautiously asked, [Host, are you okay?]
Jiang Mengyu: “Why wouldn’t I be?”
031 didn’t know how to respond. It always felt like its host wasn’t particularly happy.
But ever since it had bound itself to Jiang Mengyu, it had never really seen her express joy.
Jiang Mengyu didn’t speak further, silently contemplating her next steps in her mind. If 031 knew what she was planning, it would probably freak out again.
……
Chi Jingyan woke up from the heat.
The air conditioning was on, yet she felt like she was being boiled alive. An uncontrollable feverish sensation surged from deep within her body, burning her mind into near delirium.
She propped herself up to reach for the suppressants on the nightstand. The smart home system detected the pheromone levels in the room exceeding the limit and beeped twice before activating the air purification mode.
But it was useless.
Chi Jingyan still felt unbearably thirsty. Her hands trembled as she injected herself with the suppressant, yet the craving inside her didn’t lessen in the slightest instead, it grew even more intense.
How could this be?
Chi Jingyan had experienced her sensitive period before, but in the past, the suppressants had always calmed her quickly. Besides, Professor Chen had even administered a strong dose before leaving, it shouldn’t have rebounded this violently.
Hadn’t Professor Chen said she had only ingested a standard Omega aphrodisiac?
This medication was specifically designed for Omegas and had little effect on Alphas, merely causing temporary weakness exactly as Chi Jingyan had initially suspected. Chi Jia clearly didn’t dare to take things too far.
Yet, by sheer coincidence, it happened to coincide with the onset of Chi Jingyan’s rut. The drug acted like a spark to dry tinder, accelerating its arrival.
Chi Jingyan didn’t understand. She had endured ruts before, why was this one so unbearable?
In the vast master bedroom, Chi Jingyan curled up on the bed, her breathing ragged. The strands of hair at her forehead were soaked with sweat, her cheeks flushed an unnatural red.
Her fingers clenched the bedsheets beneath her, twisting the fabric into crumpled folds, yet it did nothing to ease the burning need inside her.
She didn’t even know what she wanted.
The searing heat at her glands grew more intense, her brows furrowed tightly in pain. Amidst the haze of agony, a thought flickered in her mind, the maddening scent of jasmine.
Three in the morning.
Jiang Mengyu’s door was knocked upon.
She wasn’t asleep. The moment the sound reached her, her eyes snapped open.
Ningyuan’s security was impeccable, burglars were unlikely. The person at the door could only be Chi Jingyan.
Jiang Mengyu threw off the covers and got out of bed. The moment she opened the door, a thick, intoxicating aroma of pear lychee wine assaulted her senses spicy yet laced with cloying sweetness, surging toward her in waves.
Chi Jingyan leaned against the doorframe, her eyes bloodshot but glazed over, her rationality long gone. Only instinct drove her here.
“What’s wrong?” Jiang Mengyu asked softly.
Without a word, Chi Jingyan grabbed Jiang Mengyu’s clothes. Even now, her legs barely supporting her, the young mistress clung to the last shreds of her pride.
“Give it to me,” she demanded.
“What?” Jiang Mengyu countered.
Chi Jingyan’s brows twitched, her lips a deeper red than usual, her exhales warm and uneven.
“Your pheromones.”
Her voice trembled.
Jiang Mengyu stood motionless in the doorway, letting Chi Jingyan draw closer. The heat of her breath brushed against Jiang Mengyu’s cheek, making her tilt her head slightly.
The movement seemed to trigger something in Chi Jingyan. Gripping Jiang Mengyu’s collar, she pulled her closer, nuzzling against her neck with a frustrated murmur. “Why isn’t it there?”
Jiang Mengyu’s lips quirked. Did Chi Jingyan mistake her for an Omega?
Did she want to mark her?
Backlit by the dim light, Jiang Mengyu watched calmly as Chi Jingyan sniffed at her neck. Chi Jingyan had called her a dog, but right now, she was the one acting like a desperate puppy.
When Chi Jingyan failed to detect the familiar jasmine scent, her grip tightened, her tone turning imperious. “Give me your pheromones.”
Jiang Mengyu studied her. “Do you know who I am?”
Chi Jingyan’s mind was too far gone, her vision blurred. She answered impatiently, “I don’t care who you are.”
She just needed pheromones.
Her body’s instincts screamed that this person’s scent could ease her torment.
“Hah.” A faint smirk tugged at Jiang Mengyu’s lips, though the smile never reached her eyes.
“I’m not the Omega you like, and I won’t let you mark me.”
Her tone was indifferent. “Ah Yan, I’ve told you before, I only want to mark you.”
“Are you sure you still want my pheromones?”
The deep voice by her ear was like a demon’s invitation, luring Chi Jingyan into a trap. Instinctively sensing danger, Chi Jingyan found her legs too weak to even lift.
“What do you want to do?” Chi Jingyan asked, her eyes wide.
Jiang Mengyu’s gaze was dark and fathomless, as if she could swallow Chi Jingyan whole. “You know.”
“Ah Yan.”
Chi Jingyan no longer had the energy to dwell on how Jiang Mengyu addressed her. She shook her head, her resistance unmistakable. “No way!”
How could she possibly accept being marked by an Alpha?!
This was utterly absurd!
