The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me - Chapter 48
Ji Yanwan’s voice was cold and emotionless. The heavy warning in her tone made Fu Suihe shiver involuntarily.
The hand wrapped around her neck slowly tightened. Fu Suihe’s breathing grew shallow and weak. Just as she thought she was about to be strangled to death, the hand suddenly let go.
The first breath she took after regaining air was filled with the scent of cedar.
A powerful burst of alpha pheromones exploded in the room, quickly overwhelming the air around them.
Ji Yanwan reached out and tore off the inhibitor from Fu Suihe’s neck. She leaned in and bit down hard on the still-dormant gland.
There was nothing gentle about her movements, not even the pressure of her teeth against the sensitive skin.
It was as if she wanted to tear Fu Suihe apart and consume her out of hatred. Her teeth ground against the gland like a punishment.
Pain spread through Fu Suihe’s limbs. Pinned tightly in Ji Yanwan’s arms, she had no choice but to endure it. Her delicate gland had become nothing more than an outlet for someone else’s anger.
The dormant gland began to awaken under the sudden intrusion of pheromones. Fu Suihe’s mind blurred from the pain. She did not know when Ji Yanwan had discovered her secret, nor why she was still pretending to be emotionally affected despite knowing the truth.
The sharp pain gradually changed as desire began to stir. Fu Suihe’s breathing grew increasingly uneven. A tingling sensation replaced the pain, spreading from her gland like a strange new feeling.
A soft moan slipped from Fu Suihe’s lips. She moved slightly, trying to turn her face toward Ji Yanwan for a kiss. She was begging for mercy and at the same time trying to awaken the parasite once more.
But Ji Yanwan gave her no chance. With clear disgust, she avoided Fu Suihe’s lips. After releasing her pheromones, she pulled away from her gland with cold detachment.
There was no light in the room, but the warm liquid dripping steadily from her shoulder quietly revealed the damage her gland had suffered.
Being forcibly pushed into heat was unbearable for any Omega. Fu Suihe could barely stand. Her legs were weak, her arms limp. Her entire body felt like it had lost all strength and support.
The alpha who caused all this showed no intention of helping. Ji Yanwan stepped back, watching Fu Suihe’s torment with a cold and indifferent gaze.
She had no intention of reaching out.
Fu Suihe, overwhelmed by her uncontrollable heat, felt as if a thousand ants were gnawing at her heart. Her fox-like eyes filled with uncontrollable tears, but the moment she looked into Ji Yanwan’s eyes, the tears froze.
Her shallow breathing stopped for a second. It was as if she had been struck by lightning.
She had never imagined this kind of failure. In the pitch-black room, the only thing visible was those cold, glowing gray eyes.
Compared to her own vulnerable and shaken appearance, those eyes were filled with nothing but mockery. There was no hint of emotion in them.
The person in front of her had not been affected by the parasite at all. It was Fu Suihe who had ended up falling into heat.
This brutal realization made the world around her feel unreal. A chill spread through her entire body, strong enough to smother the heat building inside her.
She suddenly realized that maybe she had never truly understood Ji Yanwan.
Seeing the blank expression on Fu Suihe’s face, Ji Yanwan completely lost her patience. She pressed the inhibitor back onto Fu Suihe’s neck.
Without a care for the lingering effects of her induced heat, Ji Yanwan turned and opened the door.
Her movements were crisp and emotionless, like a child throwing away a toy they no longer wanted.
As the door locked behind her, Fu Suihe collapsed to the floor, unable to hold herself up any longer.
The moment she hit the ground, she returned to her original form.
A snow-white fox lay curled up in the darkness, its tail limp and unmoving.
The system inside Ji Yanwan’s mind continued to urge her forward. She had no time to deal with Fu Suihe anymore.
She hung a sign on the door that read “Out of Order” and turned to walk toward the banquet hall.
The warmth from Fu Suihe’s body had not yet faded. Her lingering body heat still remained in Ji Yanwan’s palm.
If she had pushed just a little more earlier, Fu Suihe would have revealed her true form. The image of that snow-white fox waving its little paws replayed clearly in her mind.
Ji Yanwan rubbed her fingertips together, erasing the last trace of warmth.
This was the fox she had raised with her own hands, who had turned into a heartless creature that hurt her.
She walked to the entrance of the banquet hall. Through the glass door, the room inside was still full of laughter and cheer, as if no one had noticed her absence.
Even though the head of the Ji family had yet to arrive, everyone remained patiently waiting.
Those who knew a little of the truth had already begun whispering to one another. More and more rumors reached Cheng Qi’s ears.
She held her head high, politely responding to those who came to talk to her. One hand held a glass of wine, while the other was tightly clenched into a fist beneath her gown.
Everyone else looked forward to the Ji family’s appearance, but Cheng Qi did not.
What happened today, along with the flowers she had received over the past few months, made her feel deeply humiliated and furious. If Ji Hesong showed up tonight, she was going to throw a glass of wine right in her face.
She waited, barely holding back her anger. But the person who appeared was Ji Yanwan.
Ji Yanwan walked in alone through the back door, her face calm and expressionless.
Cheng Qi clenched her teeth and walked toward her, the wine in her glass swaying with her every step.
Ji Yanwan noticed the storm approaching and did not flinch. Just as Cheng Qi raised her glass to throw it at her, she acted first.
She grabbed Cheng Qi’s wrist, and with a flick, the cold wine spilled back onto Cheng Qi herself.
The icy sensation and sharp scent of alcohol made Cheng Qi tremble. She stared at Ji Yanwan in disbelief.
Ji Yanwan gave her a faint, cool smile and said, “Sister Cheng, did you hit your head? You really seem out of your mind.”
Cheng Qi flushed with shame and rage. Forgetting where she was, she raised her hand to slap her.
But Ji Yanwan caught her wrist again and flung it aside.
Her gaze was cold and sharp as she said, “You tried to provoke someone. What, did you expect no consequences? Sister Cheng, surely you’re not that clueless.”
The commotion quickly drew attention.
Those who had heard about the car accident earlier in the day now stared at Cheng Qi’s bruised face and bandaged head, and the rumors began to make sense.
People started whispering to one another.
“No way. Is the Cheng family really turning against the Ji family? That head injury, wasn’t it from Ji Mingtao’s car?”
“Of course it was. At the last engagement banquet, Cheng Qi insulted President Ji and got a glass of wine thrown in her face by the vice president. She didn’t even show up for the evening party.”
“I heard Cheng Qi sent flowers to President Ji for an entire month. The news reached a certain someone, and today, they crashed into the Cheng family’s car in public.”
“Honestly, she’s bold. Everyone knows how close the two Ji sisters are. How could she have the nerve?”
The whispers around the room grew louder, and people began adding their own interpretations, coloring the story with personal opinions.
Cheng Qi had just been humiliated with a face full of wine and cutting words. Her pride was shattered, both inside and out.
She clenched her jaw and stared at Ji Yanwan with hatred in her eyes. Her voice trembled with anger as she said, “Are you trying to use your family’s power to bully me?”
Ji Yanwan laughed coldly. “Sister Cheng, don’t accuse me unfairly. You were the one who lost your balance and bumped into me. How did that suddenly become me bullying you?”
“If you don’t believe me, you can ask anyone around.”
She turned her gaze, her eyes falling on someone who had been silently watching her this entire time.
“Isn’t that right, Mumu?”
Zhao Mumu froze, surprised that Ji Yanwan would suddenly bring her into this. The situation had placed her awkwardly in the middle, and she was clearly uncomfortable.
The person behind her, who had been quietly eating cake, stopped abruptly. Their face turned pale.
Feeling everyone’s eyes on her, Zhao Mumu could only grit her teeth and say, “Awan is telling the truth.”
The moment those words came out, Cheng Qi’s face turned dark with humiliation. She looked like she was about to smash her wine glass and storm out of the room.
Ji Yanwan watched her lose composure and let out a soft snort of contempt. She turned and walked toward Zhao Mumu.
Carrot, who had been following closely behind Zhao Mumu, froze in place. As Ji Yanwan approached, a deep sense of unease spread through her.
Ji Yanwan did not seem to be targeting her, but Carrot still broke out in a cold sweat.
She quietly put down the remaining piece of cake in her hand and carefully slipped away from the crowd, as if staying one second longer would put her life in danger.
No one knew why, but tonight Ji Yanwan was giving off a strong, predatory aura that was almost animalistic.
With just one glance, Carrot could sense it. Ji Yanwan was a wolf king.
At that moment, Zhao Mumu was happily leaning against Ji Yanwan’s side. Carrot grew more and more anxious. She feared that Ji Yanwan would suddenly lose control and devour everyone at the party.
What made it worse was that Fu Suihe had vanished.
The fox who usually kept the wolf in check had disappeared. Had she already been eaten?
The thought came out of nowhere, but once it did, it completely filled Carrot’s mind.
Maybe the awakening of Ji Yanwan’s wolf nature was triggered by the fox being devoured. Otherwise, why had she never shown this terrifying aura before?
And now the fox was gone.
The little rabbit’s mind was overwhelmed. In her distraction, she didn’t notice the glass door in front of her and ran straight into it.
A sharp pain shot through her entire body. Carrot felt like her skull had cracked open. The impact was so intense, she almost lost control of her transformation.
The sound of the collision was loud and clear. Everyone turned to look at the entrance. Among all the stares, one pair of cold grey eyes was especially intense.
Ji Yanwan watched the clumsy rabbit at the door with amusement. Her lips curled into a mocking smile.
Zhao Mumu, standing beside her, looked worried. She quickly called over a waiter to check on the situation. But the timid girl who had hit the door somehow found the strength to open it and run out of the building like her life depended on it.
Even after the girl left, Zhao Mumu still felt uneasy. She waved another waiter over to give a few quiet instructions. Just then, someone tapped the back of her hand.
She turned around instinctively, and her lips brushed against something soft.
Zhao Mumu looked up and found herself face-to-face with Ji Yanwan. Before she could react, their lips had already touched.
Her heart began to race wildly, so fast it felt like it might burst from her chest.
Surprisingly, the awkward kiss didn’t seem to bother Ji Yanwan. She lazily wiped her cheek and straightened her posture.
When they stepped apart, Zhao Mumu realized her lipstick had left a mark on Ji Yanwan’s pale, beautiful face.
There was a faint red stain on her flawless cheek.
Zhao Mumu blushed deeply. Her face turned bright red and the tips of her ears burned as if they were on fire.
Fortunately, everyone was still distracted by Carrot’s accident at the door. No one noticed this small, unexpected moment.
Ji Yanwan looked at Zhao Mumu’s blushing face and simply smiled. She took out a tissue and gently wiped her cheek.
A notification chimed in her mind, and a tingling sensation spread across her lower back.
System voice: Scan complete. The secondary personality has shown strong performance and can be used as a backup when the host refuses to complete a mission.
Mission complete. Preparing to switch control.
A soft chime echoed in her mind. Ji Yanwan’s sharp grey eyes suddenly lost their shine and dimmed.
The suppressed love parasite inside her reacted to the discomfort of the other parasite and began to stir as well.
Memories rushed into her mind. Ji Yanwan raised a hand to her forehead, standing still and silent, unable to recover for a long moment.
Everyone’s attention slowly returned to the party. The drama at the door was over, and the room settled back into its usual rhythm.
Carrot had barely made it through the door before she reverted to her original form and darted into the night.
The Zhao family estate was vast, but tonight’s banquet hall had been sectioned off separately.
The nimble little rabbit ran frantically through the darkness, searching for a safe place to hide.
Her white body zipped past the long corridors and finally stopped in front of a door marked with a “Maintenance” sign.
Carrot began to slow down. After a few quick steps, she shifted back into her human form.
Just as her hand turned the doorknob, a strong wave of anxiety swept over her again. Her instincts screamed at her to run.
But it was already too late.
A long fox tail suddenly slipped out from the crack in the door and wrapped tightly around her neck.
The night fell silent once more. Inside the banquet hall, beyond the sealed glass doors, laughter and cheerful voices continued as if nothing had happened.
The door to the dark, hidden lounge closed again, shutting out the world. The rabbit, dragged inside by the tail, had already passed out.
