The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me - Chapter 37
“Give her back to you?” Zhao Mumu let out a cold laugh. “What gives you the right to say that?”
Fu Suihe’s eyes were filled with disdain as she sneered, “Right? And what makes you think you have any? You’re the one tangled up in a mess with someone else’s fiancée. Does that make you qualified?”
Her gaze swept over Zhao Mumu and paused at her neck, her eyes full of contempt.
The faint scent of pheromones still lingered in the room. An unmated Alpha and Omega had spent the night together. Even if nothing was said out loud, the situation spoke for itself.
Fu Suihe’s biggest concern, however, was the presence of paparazzi near the film set last night. If Ji Yanwan had been caught on camera staying with someone else, she would once again be dragged into the headlines.
She frowned, staring at the woman blocking the doorway.
Zhao Mumu was stung by the look in her eyes. She could tell Fu Suihe had misunderstood and quickly tried to explain.
“Do you even know how much she drank last night? Do you know what she went through?”
“I don’t want to know what the two of you did last night,” Fu Suihe replied coldly.
“There are too many things people can do after drinking. I don’t care how far you went.”
Zhao Mumu was shaking with anger. “How can you think of her like that? Don’t you have any respect for her?”
“I don’t need to respect her,” Fu Suihe interrupted, her tone full of mockery. “She’s still my fiancée. I don’t care about your little romantic history, but you’re not going to interfere with me.”
She paused, then added with a cruel smirk, “And if next time you can’t help yourself, I wouldn’t mind lending her to you again.”
Her words hit hard. Zhao Mumu looked like she had just been slapped.
Her face turned red, then pale, as she clenched her fists and tried to steady her breathing.
Fu Suihe continued watching her coldly, her eyes filled with disgust.
After a moment of silence, Zhao Mumu finally found her voice. Her jaw was tight and her voice trembled with fury.
“What you just said is an insult to Yanwan. You don’t deserve her.”
Fu Suihe let out a laugh as if she had just heard something absurd. She leaned against the doorframe and laughed until tears filled her eyes.
When she finally stopped, she wiped her face and looked Zhao Mumu in the eye.
“Zhao Mumu, don’t make me laugh.”
“Someone like you, who can climb into bed with another woman’s fiancée so easily, is indeed a perfect match for her.”
Her voice turned sharp again.
“Because you’re both equally filthy.”
A loud slap echoed in the room.
Zhao Mumu’s hand was trembling. Her wrist had gone numb from the force.
She stared at Fu Suihe with bloodshot eyes and gritted her teeth.
“Back then, Yanwan and I had feelings for each other. But because our families were so different, I never dared to respond. Not anymore. I’m not running away this time.”
“Fu Suihe, if you can’t cherish her, then I will.”
The slap had been hard enough to make Fu Suihe’s head turn. She touched her cheek with her tongue, then gave a cold smile.
“Don’t even think about it. As long as I haven’t let her go, she’s not yours.”
A soft, hoarse voice spoke up from behind them.
“Is that so?”
Ji Yanwan had forced herself to sit up. Her voice was faint and strained, but each word was clear.
She had heard everything. Every word from Fu Suihe’s mouth had reached her ears.
It felt like someone had gripped her heart and squeezed until it hurt. The pain radiated through her chest, spreading like wildfire.
She looked toward the two people arguing at the door, her eyes fixed on Fu Suihe.
“So you really plan to let me go?”
Zhao Mumu turned around immediately when she heard her voice.
Ji Yanwan sat on the bed in a thin camisole. Her long black hair fell around her shoulders, partially covering her pale and delicate face.
She looked nothing like her usual self. Without her usual sharpness, she appeared fragile, like she could shatter at the slightest touch.
Fu Suihe looked back at her. The fierceness in her eyes vanished and tears began to fall.
In the blink of an eye, she slipped into a familiar expression of weakness. Her voice trembled with emotion.
“Yes. If you ever leave me like that again, disappear without a word, make me worry all night and search until morning, then yes, I won’t want you anymore.”
Her voice was filled with sorrow. The side of her face where Zhao Mumu had slapped her was already swollen, and a cut at the corner of her mouth was starting to bleed.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, mingling with the blood.
She looked miserable, and Ji Yanwan’s heart twisted at the sight.
Her memory of last night was vague. All she remembered was slipping and falling. When she woke up, it was to the sound of Fu Suihe’s cruel words.
But now, her tears fell directly on Ji Yanwan’s heart.
Some instinct inside her reacted before her mind could catch up. She moved forward and gently pulled Fu Suihe into her arms.
She whispered softly, “I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I should have told you where I was going.”
Fu Suihe didn’t hesitate to respond.
“Then tell me. Between us, who was really going to walk away?”
“I looked for you all night, and you still snapped at me. You’re so mean.”
Ji Yanwan sighed and gently patted her back.
“It’s my fault. I’m sorry. Please don’t cry.”
Zhao Mumu watched the two of them holding each other. Even with her heart boiling in anger, she managed to keep her expression composed.
She had to admit, the ones who cry often win. But it was hard to watch Fu Suihe treat Ji Yanwan like this and even harder to see Ji Yanwan fall for it again and again.
The two of them embraced each other so closely that it felt like no one else in the world existed.
Zhao Mumu could only stand silently to the side and watch as Ji Yanwan sank deeper.
After calming Fu Suihe down, Ji Yanwan turned to thank Zhao Mumu.
She didn’t remember much from the night before, but waking up here made it clear who had saved her.
Ji Yanwan looked at her with a soft, apologetic smile.
“I’m sorry for causing trouble. Thank you for helping me last night.”
Zhao Mumu couldn’t remember how she replied. All she remembered was Fu Suihe turning around at the door and shooting her a smug, taunting look.
Back in their room, Ji Yanwan’s head was pounding. She was just about to lie down when Fu Suihe pulled her back up.
Fu Suihe pointed at her own face.
“She slapped me.”
Seeing the finger marks on her cheek, Ji Yanwan frowned.
She hadn’t known what had happened between the two at the door. Initially, she thought Fu Suihe had fallen with her. But now, it seemed there had been a conflict between them.
Ji Yanwan touched her face gently, heart aching, and asked, “Did you two have a fight? Why did it come to blows?”
“We didn’t fight!” Fu Suihe retorted, brows furrowed. “You suddenly disappeared last night, and I searched everywhere for you. I couldn’t find you. Later, someone told me you were with Zhao Mumu. So I went to get you from her, but she wouldn’t let you go and even snapped at me!”
“She even said she was going to steal you away!” Fu Suihe bit her lip. “So I told her, only I can leave you. You’re not allowed to leave me.”
Hearing her childish words, Ji Yanwan sighed helplessly.
She didn’t know if it was just her imagination, but she felt Fu Suihe was no longer quite the same as when they had first met. That gentle demeanor was slowly fading, revealing a bit of the spoiled brat underneath.
Abu, ever thoughtful, brought over the first aid kit. Ji Yanwan took out the ointment for swelling and carefully applied it to her face.
Fu Suihe winced in pain, tears falling like broken beads on a string.
Seeing her acting so childishly, Ji Yanwan could only continue to comfort her patiently. As for what had happened last night, she had no choice but to swallow her words for now.
When Fu Suihe noticed her silence, she gritted her teeth and shoved Ji Yanwan away. “Don’t touch me!”
She backed away in a huff, only to suddenly feel an arm wrap firmly around her waist, catching her off guard.
“Don’t be difficult,” Ji Yanwan said helplessly. “Be careful, or that bruise on your face might scar.”
“Then tell me, do you like her?” Fu Suihe asked, pouting. “If you do…”
“I don’t,” Ji Yanwan interrupted firmly.
Fu Suihe wasn’t ready to let it go. “But she just hit me, and you didn’t even stand up for me. Do you not like me anymore?”
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” Ji Yanwan coaxed. “She saved me last night. If not for her, I might have…”
“I don’t want to hear it!” Fu Suihe covered her ears and backed away. “I hate you! I don’t want you anymore!”
Ji Yanwan sighed again and put down the ointment to calm her.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
The assistant’s voice came from outside: “Miss Ji, Miss Fu, are you available now? The director wants to go over the scenes.”
Ji Yanwan responded and looked down at the sulking girl in front of her.
Softening her tone, she coaxed, “I’m sorry, okay? No matter what happens in the future, I’ll always be on your side. I won’t let anyone bully you again. Will you forgive me this time?”
Fu Suihe was still pouting, clearly angry. But after weighing the pros and cons in her mind, she realized Ji Yanwan was still being patient with her even after all this drama.
That had to mean there was nothing going on between Ji Yanwan and Zhao Mumu.
Fu Suihe finally gave a reluctant pout, deciding that it was time to drop the spoiled act and return to her gentle self.
“Fine, fine,” she said with a slight pout. “Then kiss me, and I’ll forgive you.”
Seeing her so adorably defiant, Ji Yanwan’s heart softened. She leaned in and kissed her, once again making a promise: “I swear, I’ll never let you feel wronged again.”
Fu Suihe nodded and added, “Then you have to promise to bring me along to all your future events.”
Ji Yanwan nodded in agreement.
The meeting room gradually filled with people.
Ji Yanwan and Fu Suihe were the last to arrive.
As soon as they walked in, Ji Yanwan noticed Bai Li sitting next to Chen Fei.
The two seemed to be discussing something quietly, while Zhao Mumu, seated nearby, occasionally chimed in with a few words.
The other main cast members had already arrived. Hu Luobei sat on the edge, quietly observing the two who walked in hand-in-hand.
Because of their late arrival, Ji Yanwan immediately apologized upon entering.
Thankfully, Chen Fei didn’t put on any airs. With Bai Li nearby, he simply chuckled and waved it off.
Now that the leads had arrived, the director gave a brief rundown of the scene and then suggested a walk-through rehearsal.
Ji Yanwan, who had never acted before, suddenly felt her heart leap into her throat.
Bai Li, noticing her nervousness, said calmly, “Third Miss Ji, no need to be anxious. If it becomes too much, we can always use a stand-in.”
Ji Yanwan: …
Ji Yanwan: Who uses a stand-in just for a rehearsal?
Chen Fei clearly didn’t like that suggestion either. He frowned slightly and said, “Let’s do this—let’s have Suihe and Third Miss Ji run through the most emotional scene first.”
“Miss Ji, you’ll be playing Lu Ming, who discovers that Fu He has betrayed her.”
“After struggling emotionally, you decide to forgive her.”
