The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me - Chapter 25
Ji Yanwan had been avoiding Fu Suihe for two whole days.
The news of Fu Suihe’s retirement from the entertainment industry was announced at the same time as her upcoming engagement, and it caused an immediate stir throughout the entire industry.
In order to curry favor with the Ji family, Fu Leiwu had practically thrown Fu Suihe out without hesitation.
FU Entertainment first posted an official statement declaring Fu Suihe’s breach of contract, slapping her with an eight hundred million yuan penalty. Shortly after, Fu Suihe announced her indefinite withdrawal from the entertainment world.
Her fans flooded FU Entertainment’s social media, furious and heartbroken, leaving a storm of criticism in the comments.
While the internet boiled with controversy, Fu Suihe was calmly trying on wedding dresses.
Ever since the night she had been brought back home, she hadn’t seen Ji Yanwan again.
It was as if Ji Yanwan had been deliberately avoiding her. Every morning, by the time Fu Suihe woke up, Ji Yanwan had already come home drunk and fallen asleep. And every night, once Fu Suihe went to bed, Ji Yanwan would sneak out again.
Their completely misaligned schedules left them no chance to see each other. That, too, had become the final push behind Fu Leiwu’s decision to cast Fu Suihe aside. He was confident in this pawn he had spent years grooming.
As expected, the moment the engagement news broke, Ji Yanwan reached out and invited Fu Suihe to take engagement photos.
Inside the fitting room, Fu Suihe pushed aside her thoughts and began loosening the dress she had just tried on. She peeked her head out from behind the curtain.
“Awan, I think I need your help.”
The black fitting curtain hid her completely except for her head, which poked out shyly with a soft voice full of hesitation.
The Alpha sitting on the sofa was propping her head up with one hand, reading a long statement about Fu Suihe’s retirement. Hearing her name, she looked up.
“What is it?” Ji Yanwan put away her phone and stood. “Are you finished trying it on?”
Fu Suihe bit her lip, clearly troubled.
The discomfort was written all over her face. Ji Yanwan hesitated to approach her. What had happened last time in the fitting room had served as a warning. She no longer dared to be alone with Fu Suihe in a small enclosed space.
Perhaps sensing Ji Yanwan’s caution, Fu Suihe’s eyes dimmed. She looked like a stray cat, small and pitiful.
Her vulnerability softened Ji Yanwan’s heart. She sighed gently and asked, “Are you having trouble with something?”
“The waist tie… I need help tying it.” Fu Suihe’s voice lowered, like a kitten afraid of being scolded.
Ji Yanwan let out a soft sigh and took a step forward. “Can I come in?”
A small nod answered her, followed by the curtain being slightly lifted.
What she saw was not what she expected. Fu Suihe was clutching the front of the dress tightly, her ears blushing red.
Seeing how well she was protecting herself, Ji Yanwan felt a little more at ease. She stepped inside and closed the curtain behind her.
“What do you need me to do?” she asked gently.
“I need you to…” Fu Suihe blinked and suddenly let go of the fabric. “Help me put it on.”
What met Ji Yanwan’s eyes was a stretch of pale, exposed skin. A wave of irritation washed over her. She felt tricked.
Frowning, she shut her eyes and bent down to pick up the dress. Without saying a word, she wrapped it around Fu Suihe, then opened her eyes.
Her gaze was filled with frustration.
Startled by her expression, Fu Suihe lowered her head, guilt written all over her face. She stood there quietly, waiting for the scolding she knew was coming.
But the harsh words never came.
Ji Yanwan only helped her put on the dress, movements gentle and quiet. Her fingers moved gracefully over the fabric, tying a beautiful bow.
Looking at the delicate and lovely person before her, Ji Yanwan reminded her softly, “I’ve told you, you don’t have to keep doing things like this.”
“But you haven’t marked me,” Fu Suihe said in a low voice, eyes downcast. “I don’t feel safe.”
Ji Yanwan looked at the top of her head, the memories of the retirement statement still lingering in her mind.
Back at that dinner, she had offended Fu Leiwu. Clearly, she was the one who caused the trouble, yet it was Fu Suihe who paid the price.
The thought of her being burdened with an eight hundred million penalty and losing her place in the Fu family softened Ji Yanwan’s heart once more.
She sighed and gently pulled Fu Suihe into her arms.
“Security doesn’t have to come from being marked. I told you, if I say I’ll marry you, I won’t change my mind.”
The person resting on her shoulder remained still, replying with a quiet and soft “mm.”
“I only have you, Awan,” she whispered. “You can’t leave me.”
“I won’t,” Ji Yanwan said firmly, her arms loosely holding her, but her words carrying unmistakable weight. “I won’t leave you.”
But Fu Suihe didn’t look truly happy, even after the promise.
She pressed her lips together and asked carefully, “Did you ever say that to another Omega before? Someone like Zhao Mumu?”
Zhao Mumu?
Ji Yanwan frowned slightly, letting her mind retrieve the information the system had supplied.
Zhao Mumu had a decent background and once had a brief fling with her. She was a disposable character, an insignificant part of the past.
Since she was insignificant, there was no need to worry. Ji Yanwan answered clearly, “No. I’ve only said it to you.”
That answer finally put Fu Suihe at ease. She leaned into Ji Yanwan’s shoulder and smiled faintly.
“Good. Then I believe you.”
When she lifted her head, she was smiling sweetly, full of gentle charm.
She took a step back, the white silk dress shining like water under the overhead light. As she moved, the soft ripples of fabric danced in Ji Yanwan’s eyes like waves on a lake.
Staring at the blossoming waves in front of her, Ji Yanwan was momentarily dazed. She quickly came back to her senses and responded softly, “You look beautiful.”
She could hide her gaze, but not the deep flush that spread from the tips of her ears like a fever that refused to fade.
Fu Suihe was very satisfied with her reaction. Leaning in, she gently kissed Ji Yanwan’s earlobe, then gracefully pulled open the curtain and walked out.
Left alone, Ji Yanwan stood frozen for a long time. Inside her chest, a tide surged uncontrollably. Countless waves crashed against her heart. And when that tide finally crested, it was as if someone had pressed a hidden switch. Everything burst open at the spot where Fu Suihe had kissed her.
That kiss was the switch.
It took a while before Ji Yanwan could gather her thoughts again. She touched her burning ear, still tingling from the sensation, and looked at the radiant young woman in front of her. Her heart suddenly felt too warm to contain.
She picked up her phone, but had no intention of returning to that long-winded, tiresome announcement. A tiny notification popped up on the screen, quietly informing her that today marked the beginning of summer.
Ji Yanwan let out a breath.
So that was it. Summer had arrived. No wonder it felt so warm.
After finishing the dress fitting, the two of them moved on to the engagement photo shoot.
Fu Suihe, after all, was a film queen. In front of the camera, she was confident and poised. The photographer praised her repeatedly, saying she was born to be seen through a lens.
The compliments were polite, but it still took five straight hours of shooting before they wrapped up.
Once the lights were off and the cameras put away, Fu Suihe sat on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand and spacing out. A trace of youthful innocence escaped the glamour, softening her cheeks into a round and slightly puffy expression.
When Ji Yanwan turned around to look for her, she was greeted by a dazed little face that looked just like a cartoon character. The irritation she had built up during the tedious shoot faded slightly. Accepting a bottle of water from her assistant, Ji Yanwan opened it and walked toward her.
Just as she reached out to hand the bottle over, a familiar chime rang out.
Startled, Ji Yanwan’s hand trembled. A bit of the already opened water spilled onto her fingers. But she didn’t care.
The system’s voice returned, loud and clear in her mind.
A clear chime rang.
Now issuing Mission Five. At the engagement ceremony, elope with Zhao Mumu and ensure Fu Suihe is left behind at the venue.
Note. This mission is intended to set up the emotional fallout for the next host. You must leave Fu Suihe at the scene.
