Chapter 5: Shut Up and Hurry!
Lu Siyang immediately realized that the other man was mocking him. He was about to retort in a fit of pique, but to his surprise, Fang Lv released the grip on his waist in the next instant.
A sudden sigh of relief escaped his heart. Lu Siyang took the opportunity to quickly shuffle half a step to the side, maintaining a safe distance between them.
Fang Lv leaned against the door with his arms crossed, looking perfectly composed. “Just playing a joke on President Lu.”
Lu Siyang’s expression was somewhat stiff. If he had known better, he shouldn’t have come back. It was just surveillance footage; he had plenty of ways to get it!
He pulled open the door and strode out.
Accompanied by the loud bang of the door closing, he saw his current reflection in the glass window opposite the corridor, which was covered in colored privacy film. His face was flushed and his eyes were full of panic; no matter how he looked at it, he seemed to be fleeing in panic… Wait, fleeing in panic?
The moment that phrase popped into Lu Siyang’s head, his expression darkened even further.
Early the next morning, Lu Siyang left the accident for his assistant to handle and drove himself to the 4S dealership.
“Three days?” Lu Siyang set down his coffee cup and frowned at the account manager. “It takes three days just to touch up some paint?”
It was a matter of a few wipes; he’d almost rather they just give him the paint so he could go home and do it himself.
The account manager smiled apologetically at Lu Siyang. “I am truly sorry, President Lu. Yours is the only car of this model in the entire province. We don’t have this specific paint in stock, so we have to order it from headquarters.”
Lu Siyang looked at the gleaming body of the car and then at the scraped bumper, feeling a blockage in his chest. “Forget it. I’ll come pick up the car in three days.”
Saying that, he stood up to leave.
“Don’t you worry, President Lu,” the account manager said, eagerly pushing open the glass door to the lobby for him. “The weather isn’t great today. Shall I call a car for you?”
Lu Siyang waved him off. “No need. My driver will be here soon.”
He stood outside the lobby, watching the dark clouds rolling overhead, and took out his phone to call Old Wang. Suddenly, he heard the roar of an engine nearby. A black Cullinan with a “He A” license plate sped past, and as it reached him, the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes.
Lu Siyang froze as the window rolled down, revealing a face with cold, hard features.
Fang Lv held the steering wheel with his left hand, his right arm resting on the passenger seat. “Where are you going? I’ll give you a lift.”
Lu Siyang replied flatly, “No need.”
He moved his gaze back to the screen and dialed Old Wang’s number.
“President Lu,” Old Wang’s voice sounded anxious after the call connected. “There’s been a car accident over on Xingfu Road—a multi-car pileup.”
Lu Siyang’s brow furrowed. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I’m just stuck on the road. I won’t be able to get through for a while.”
Lu Siyang thought for a moment. “Forget it, don’t come. I’ll take a taxi back.”
Hanging up, he opened a ride-hailing app. However, the 4S dealership was in a remote location, and coupled with the gloomy weather, it wouldn’t be easy to catch a ride anytime soon.
Sure enough, a minute passed and no driver accepted the order. Five minutes… ten minutes…
Fang Lv, to the side, didn’t seem to have any intention of driving away either; he actually turned off the engine and leaned against the window to smoke.
The sky grew even gloomier, and a fierce wind carrying the fishy scent of wet earth blew against his face. Then, a bolt of lightning pierced the sky. Heavy raindrops began to crash down with a pitter-patter. The cold rain flowed along his hair into his collar. Within seconds, his suit jacket was soaked through.
Lu Siyang immediately decided to head back to the dealership to hide from the rain. Just as he was about to turn, he felt the world above him go dark.
He snapped his eyes shut. When he opened them again, his vision, blurred by the rain, gradually cleared.
A pure black wooden-handled umbrella was more than enough to cover two people. The man holding it, however, tilted the majority of the umbrella toward Lu Siyang, seemingly unaware of the rain falling on his own shoulder.
“Get in the car.”
The low tone carried a trace of an undetectable tremor.
Lu Siyang was somewhat surprised and couldn’t help but look up. Fang Lv’s face was hidden in the shadow of the umbrella; he could only see the man’s sharp features appearing slightly pale and his tightly pursed lips. The hand gripping the umbrella handle was trembling slightly from the excessive force.
Beside his ears was the pitter-patter of the torrential rain, but the large umbrella created a separate, quiet space in the storm.
Lu Siyang remained silent for a moment, then stepped forward and pulled open the passenger door.
Fang Lv closed the umbrella, got in the car, and handed a towel from the back seat. Lu Siyang hesitated before taking it. During the exchange, he accidentally touched the back of Fang Lv’s hand; the icy sensation sent a shock through his fingertips.
He pulled the towel away quietly and slowly dried his wet hair, but his mind kept flashing back to those fingernails that had turned white from gripping the umbrella handle so hard.
Fang Lv started the car, turned on the left blinker, and slowly drove into the curtain of rain. Lu Siyang buckled his seatbelt and forced himself to look straight ahead, but he couldn’t help but steal glances from the corner of his eye.
The hand holding the steering wheel was no longer as stiff as before, and the tight corners of his mouth seemed to have relaxed. Lu Siyang wondered what had just happened to Fang Lv…
Before he could think further, he noticed Fang Lv looking into the right-hand side mirror, and he quickly turned his head to look out the window.
Fang Lv seemed not to notice and simply asked, “Where to?”
The husky voice sounded as if it were soaked in cold rainwater, carrying a chill that seeped into the skin.
Lu Siyang froze for a moment before realizing what the other was asking. “Ziyun Villa.”
This was a villa his father had given him when he reached adulthood. It had been vacant for many years, but since his father passed away, Lu Siyang had done some simple renovations and moved in. He didn’t want to go back to the main mansion; he didn’t want to face an empty home. Perhaps, without his father, that place could no longer be called a home…
During his momentary lapse in concentration, the car slowly pulled over to the side and stopped. Lu Siyang snapped out of it and looked at Fang Lv in confusion.
Fang Lv didn’t say anything, but pointed toward the windshield. The rain was getting heavier; even at the fastest setting, the wipers couldn’t clear the view. Outside the glass was a white blur, making it impossible to see the road. The rain was too heavy and obstructed the view, so they had to turn on the hazard lights and stop by the side of the road until it subsided. Lu Siyang pursed his lips; it was understandable.
Fang Lv turned off the engine, and the car suddenly became silent. This cramped space reminded Lu Siyang again of the situation in the elevator that night.
He coughed somewhat uncomfortably, attempting to break the awkwardness. “Boss Fang is such a grown man, yet he’s actually afraid of thunder?”
A flash of bewilderment crossed Fang Lv’s face. After realizing what he was being asked, the light in his eyes dimmed and he didn’t deny it.
The car fell back into silence. Lu Siyang’s gaze suddenly landed on Fang Lv’s hand resting on the steering wheel. Fang Lv’s hands were large, with slightly protruding knuckles and clean, neatly trimmed nails. However, his palms were a bit rough; the thin calluses had a cold, hard frictional feel that, when stroking the skin of one’s back, would make one tremble involuntarily…
Lu Siyang was lost in thought when he saw Fang Lv’s index finger suddenly rise and tap lightly on the steering wheel. He jerked his head up, right into Fang Lv’s playful gaze.
Lu Siyang’s ears turned hot, and he quickly averted his eyes.
…Dammit! What was he thinking?!
A damp, ambiguous atmosphere suddenly filled the car.
To hide his embarrassment, he turned his head to feign interest in the scenery outside the window distorted by the rain, but then he heard a “click” behind him—Fang Lv had unbuckled his seatbelt.
His heart gave a sharp leap, and an inexplicable heat rose to his cheeks.
He couldn’t tell if Fang Lv had leaned in first or if he had approached the other man voluntarily. By the time he realized it, he was already sitting on Fang Lv’s lap, their lips and teeth entangled as a scorching heat rose around them.
Lu Siyang hooked his arms around Fang Lv’s neck. His suit jacket had long since been tossed somewhere, and his buttons were all undone, revealing a large expanse of fair, tender chest.
Fang Lv’s lips carried a moist breath as they moved down from the corners of his mouth, bit by bit, grazing the earlobe and jawline, before lightly biting and nibbling at the collarbone. Lu Siyang felt the sting of the bite and deliberately curled his knee forward to give a little shove.
“Hiss—” Fang Lv narrowed his eyes and took a punitive bite out of the pink tenderness on his chest.
“Mmh…” The sudden stimulation of pain made Lu Siyang let out a soft moan.
Fang Lv’s breathing grew heavier as he turned the nibbling into sucking. The tingling sensation made Lu Siyang tilt his head back and arch his chest, pushing the pinkness forward.
Fang Lv’s palm reached in from the hem of his shirt. When it touched the skin of Lu Siyang’s back, he shuddered abruptly. That hand was very cold, but the places it touched felt as if they were being ignited, becoming scorching hot.
Lu Siyang pressed against Fang Lv’s chest, twisting his body as if in a silent urge.
“Can’t wait?” Fang Lv smiled, his breath spraying against the side of Lu Siyang’s neck.
“Shut up! Hurry!” Lu Siyang frowned and said fiercely, a flush rising under his eyes.
Fang Lv lowered the seat and wrapped his arm around Lu Siyang’s back. With a slight exertion of force, the two instantly swapped positions. Lu Siyang lay on the seat, his pink lips slightly swollen with a watery sheen, now parting and closing as he panted softly. His smooth neck was stained with an intoxicating crimson.
He half-squinted his eyes, the damp corners looking as if they were carrying a coquettish reproach. “What are you looking at? Hurry… hurry up…”
Fang Lv felt the blood in his entire body rush to his head. His breathing deepened, and he lowered his head to kiss him fiercely.
The scent of tobacco, mixed with the smell of sandalwood, filled Lu Siyang’s mouth.
“Fa—Fang Lv…” Lu Siyang gasped, each breath filled with a chilly taste. He couldn’t help but ask, “On you… why is there always the scent of a temple on you…”
Fang Lv took a gentle bite on the side of his neck. “Does thinking about doing this in a temple make it even more exciting?”
Lu Siyang’s eyes widened in shock, and he raised his hand to cover Fang Lv’s mouth. “Wha—what kind of nonsense are you talking!”
How could this man speak so unscrupulously?!
“What nonsense? Am I wrong?” Fang Lv curled his lips playfully.
