The Aloof Omega Caught the Eye of a Clingy Sweetheart - Chapter 24
The evening cocktail party was jointly hosted by Zhang Zi and You Song, inviting several other partners involved in the contract for casual networking and mutual understanding.
Being an informal gathering, there weren’t many formalities, allowing everyone to interact freely so You Song could better understand the partners’ intentions.
After all, this was a massive order. You Song had personally guaranteed it to Jian Xiangling, and successful completion would earn her a substantial project bonus likely in the range of one to two hundred thousand yuan.
For her upcoming surgery expenses, You Song absolutely had to secure this deal.
When Jian Qiuyi arrived lazily at the party, it had already been underway for over ten minutes.
You Song spotted Jian Qiuyi immediately but merely glanced at her before continuing her conversation with the other executives.
Seated beside You Song on the lounge sofa, Zhang Zi naturally noticed Jian Qiuyi’s arrival too.
“Your little friend showing up this late isn’t a good look, is it?” Zhang Zi whispered in You Song’s ear. “These executives don’t appreciate tardiness. When she starts handling things independently, she can’t keep this up.”
“You’re absolutely right,” You Song replied with a smile. “She might have been delayed. Who really enjoys these networking events when they’re young? We all tried to avoid them when we could.”
Zhang Zi nodded noncommittally, draping an arm over You Song’s shoulder. “True enough. I remember my first business dinner with my father. I was so naive I drank every toast and ended up too sick to stand.”
Leaning closer, Zhang Zi breathed into You Song’s ear: “What about you, Director You? Any embarrassing moments like that?”
You Song tilted her head slightly away. “No, I’ve always known my limits with alcohol.”
Zhang Zi chuckled. “Always so cautious, Director You. You’re not an Omega, are you?”
You Song turned to meet her gaze with a knowing smile.
This was the scene Jian Qiuyi witnessed, Zhang Zi draped over You Song, whispering intimately while You Song gazed back with what appeared to be tender affection.
A surge of jealousy flared instantly in Jian Qiuyi’s chest.
You Song maintained her composure while studying Zhang Zi, uncertain whether the woman’s question stemmed from genuine suspicion or mere teasing.
Before she could determine this, her peripheral vision caught sight of Jian Qiuyi storming toward them, her green trench coat billowing as she snatched a champagne flute en route her expression thunderous.
You Song’s heart sank, fearing another childish outburst during this crucial event. She couldn’t allow any disruptions.
Immediately disentangling herself from Zhang Zi, You Song intercepted Jian Qiuyi. “What are you doing? Don’t cause trouble!”
“Who’s causing trouble?” Jian Qiuyi gripped You Song’s wrist tightly, shooting a glare at the smirking Zhang Zi before whispering hotly in You Song’s ear: “Sister, I like you too. I can’t stand seeing you cozying up with someone else.”
You Song opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, she saw Jian Qiuyi pulling her back to the rest area.
Several executives turned their heads curiously and asked, “And this is…?”
Before You Song could speak, Jian Qiuyi introduced herself: “Hello, everyone. My name is Jian Qiuyi. My mother is Jian Xiangling. She just called and specifically asked me to greet all of you uncles and elders.”
Hearing this, the executives chuckled warmly. “Oh, so you’re Jian Xiangling’s daughter! My, how you’ve grown. I even held you when you were little.”
Jian Qiuyi smiled brightly at the middle-aged man who spoke and said, “Uncle Liu, my mother reminded me that your liver condition means you shouldn’t drink. She specially asked me to prepare this year’s Longjing tea for you freshly picked after Qingming Festival. I’ve already given it to your assistant so you can enjoy a change of taste.”
“Haha, thank Director Jian for me then.”
With that, Jian Qiuyi addressed the group: “As the junior here, I should have arrived earlier. But my mother insisted all the gifts for my uncles and elders must be perfectly prepared, which delayed me slightly. I’ll punish myself with a drink please forgive this niece!”
Watching Jian Qiuyi down an entire glass of champagne, the more easygoing executives cheerfully invited her to join them, instantly creating a convivial atmosphere.
You Song stood stunned, witnessing how Jian Qiuyi effortlessly enlivened the gathering, a far cry from her usual reckless demeanor.
Zhang Zi observed Jian Qiuyi with amusement before approaching You Song. “Your little friend here is quite something,” she remarked.
You Song shot her a glance but remained silent.
The reception concluded smoothly. With Jian Qiuyi’s assistance, all partners left in high spirits, having signed a draft agreement on the spot. While legally non-binding, everyone understood this meant formal contracts would soon follow.
Elated, You Song and Zhang Zi promptly arranged hotel accommodations for their guests while dispatching legal teams to finalize contract details within days.
Jian Qiuyi had played no small role tonight. Leveraging her youth, she’d skillfully networked with the senior executives, spinning such convincing tales that she’d consumed considerable alcohol in the process. Now thoroughly intoxicated, she swayed unsteadily.
With colleagues occupied and Zhang Zi too inebriated to help, You Song had no choice but to shoulder Jian Qiuyi upstairs herself.
“Which room is yours?” You Song asked in the elevator, pressing her own floor button. She vaguely recalled Jian Qiuyi mentioning she’d booked a room on the same level that morning.
Jian Qiuyi slumped against You Song, her body pliant. Whether genuinely drunk or playfully feigning intoxication, she suddenly wrapped her arms around You Song’s waist and pinned her against the elevator wall.
“Jiejie…”
The scent of freesia mixed with alcohol overwhelmed You Song’s senses. Caught off guard by the embrace, she found herself momentarily powerless to break free.
“Jiejie, jiejie…” Jian Qiuyi nuzzled You Song’s neck like an affectionate puppy, her warm breath tickling the sensitive skin and sending shivers down You Song’s spine.
“Stop rubbing against me like a puppy.” You Song regained some composure and pushed Jian Qiu Yi away, saying, “I asked which room you’re staying in. Don’t pretend you didn’t hear me.”
Jian Qiu Yi giggled foolishly and pressed close again. “I want to stay in your room, sis.”
You Song glared at her in frustration.
“Sis…” Jian Qiu Yi wrapped her arms around You Song’s waist and murmured, “I don’t like that Zhang Zi woman. I can tell she likes you, so I don’t like her. Why do you have to be so close with her? I really don’t like her…”
As Jian Qiu Yi began rambling incoherently, the elevator arrived at their floor. You Song quickly ushered her out.
“I’m asking which room you’re staying in. If you don’t answer, I’ll leave you in the hallway to sleep on the street!”
“Wuwu… Sis, do you even like me? Why are you so close with Zhang Zi? I don’t like her!”
Carrying Jian Qiu Yi while listening to her drunken nonsense made You Song furious. “If you keep this up, I really will abandon you!”
Hearing this threat, Jian Qiu Yi immediately stopped walking. Her dark, gleaming eyes fixed on You Song like a fierce young leopard.
“Are you really going to leave me?” Jian Qiu Yi leaned in close, her breath warm against You Song’s face. “Are you actually interested in Zhang Zi? Is that why you keep rejecting me?”
“No, that’s not it. You’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk.”
Jian Qiu Yi whimpered pitifully, then seized You Song’s hand. Before You Song could react, Jian Qiu Yi pinned her against the hallway wall.
What followed was a sudden, overwhelming kiss that left You Song breathless.
Jian Qiu Yi’s warm tongue slid into her mouth like a slippery eel, sucking and licking as if trying to steal You Song’s very breath. The kiss was fierce, teeth occasionally nipping at You Song’s lips.
“Mmm… ah…”
You Song winced at the sharp pain in her lips while Jian Qiu Yi’s pheromones made her legs tremble weakly.
This couldn’t happen they couldn’t make such a scene in the hallway. If colleagues or Zhang Zi’s people saw them, who knew what rumors would spread.
But Jian Qiu Yi’s strength was overwhelming. No matter how You Song struggled, gasping for air, Jian Qiu Yi merely adjusted her grip.
“Sis…”
Breathing heavily, Jian Qiu Yi buried her face against You Song’s neck and bit down hard.
“Ah!”
You Song’s tear ducts betrayed her. Pain brought instant tears, and her legs gave out completely, sending her sliding down the wall.
Jian Qiu Yi looked down at the trembling woman, some clarity returning to her eyes.
As Jian Qiu Yi began to kneel, You Song instinctively raised a hand to stop her, voice shaking. “Don’t…”
“Sis…”
Seeing You Song’s flushed cheeks and tear-filled eyes only stoked the fire in Jian Qiu Yi’s heart. Noticing the elevator moving toward their floor, she wordlessly scooped up the weak-legged You Song and carried her toward her room.
Beep—
After opening the door, Jian Qiu Yi didn’t bother with lights. She carried You Song straight to the bed and laid her down.
You Song had already regained her composure by now. Seeing Jian Qiuyi about to lean in for a kiss, she quickly raised a hand to stop her, biting her lip as she whispered, “Jian Qiuyi, you can’t force me.”
Hearing this, Jian Qiuyi paused momentarily before lowering her head to grasp You Song’s fingertips and placing them against her own chest, letting her feel the pounding of her heart.
“Sister, can you feel it?”
Jian Qiuyi murmured softly, “I want you right now.”
