The Aloof Omega Caught the Eye of a Clingy Sweetheart - Chapter 21
The next day, Jian Qiuyi still didn’t manage to intercept You Song downstairs.
It wasn’t until Xu Ye sent her a message that Jian Qiuyi learned You Song had already arrived at the company. She immediately drove over and happened to run into You Song just as she was stepping out of the meeting room.
Jian Qiuyi had rushed over in a hurry, and by the time she saw You Song, she was panting heavily, looking rather disheveled.
“You’re late.”
You Song said it casually, eyeing Jian Qiuyi. “Being more than 30 minutes late means half a day’s pay deduction. Go sign the form at HR yourself.”
It was unclear whether Jian Qiuyi even processed You Song’s words. The moment she saw her, she strode forward, grabbed her wrist, and demanded, “Where were you last night?”
You Song frowned slightly as her wrist was seized. “Do I need to report my whereabouts to you?”
“A woman staying out all night, do you have any idea how dangerous that is?”
“What’s it to you?”
You Song tried to shake her off, but Jian Qiuyi’s grip was like a vice no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t break free. Her expression darkened. “Let go!”
Perhaps because their commotion had drawn attention, several colleagues were now peering curiously in their direction, which only irritated You Song further.
Jian Qiuyi knew You Song cared about appearances. If she didn’t handle this properly now, You Song would likely cut her off completely. Reluctantly, she released her grip, watching as You Song turned to leave before quickly following after her.
“Where did you go last night? Why didn’t you answer my calls? You even blocked me just because I mentioned my blind date yesterday morning?”
Jian Qiuyi trailed behind You Song like a shadow, firing off questions. “I know I shouldn’t have snapped at you, but was deleting me really necessary? I’ve sent you so many friend requests, why won’t you accept them? Are you really planning to freeze me out like this?”
You Song ignored her, walking briskly toward her office. As she passed the secretary’s desk, she said to Xu Ye, “Book me a flight.”
The moment Jian Qiuyi heard this, she panicked. “A flight? Where are you going? Whatever the issue is, we can talk it out, what’s this about?!”
You Song couldn’t be bothered to respond and stepped into her office. Jian Qiuyi tried to follow but was met with a sharp glare that instantly silenced her.
With a click, the office door shut in Jian Qiuyi’s face, cutting off her line of sight to You Song.
Frustrated, Jian Qiuyi ran a hand through her bangs before turning to Xu Ye. She hurried over and asked, “Where is You Song going? What for? Which flight? What’s the destination?”
Xu Ye couldn’t help but laugh. “Qiuyi, what’s gotten into you today? You’ve been firing questions nonstop since you got here. Calm down take a seat, and I’ll explain everything.”
With no other choice, Jian Qiuyi sat down and listened as Xu Ye recounted the events at a leisurely pace.
Yesterday, You Song and Zhang Zi had discussed late into the night to finalize the order distribution and each company’s responsibilities. They had even called in legal and finance teams from both sides to review the contract, wrapping up only in the early hours of the morning. As a result, You Song had stayed overnight at the hotel.
This morning, You Song had called a meeting, primarily to assign roles and responsibilities for this multimillion-dollar deal.
“What’s the plane ticket for?” Jian Qiuyi frowned and asked.
“Director Zhang said they need to inspect a factory out of town, so he invited CEO You to go along. They’ll probably leave tomorrow, so I was told to book the tickets.” Seeing Jian Qiuyi calm down a little, Xu Ye smiled and said, “Don’t get so worked up all the time. CEO You asked me to book tickets for both of you.”
Jian Qiuyi’s eyes instantly lit up. “I’m going too?”
Xu Ye nodded. “CEO You said she wants you to get more involved in the company’s business. After all, you are Chairman Jian’s daughter, she can’t keep treating you like just a secretary and driver. For this business trip, aside from you and CEO You, a few people from other departments are also going.”
Hearing this, Jian Qiuyi suddenly felt a warm glow in her heart.
Hmph, she might be mad at me, but she still cares about me.
Once she realized this, her mood improved significantly, and she couldn’t help but grin. Xu Ye watched her with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
“You’re still too young everything you feel is written all over your face,” Xu Ye said. “CEO You is someone who handles big things. She’s already under a lot of pressure every day. Qiuyi, try not to make her angry anymore, okay?”
“I know,” Jian Qiuyi coughed lightly and stood up. “I’ll go downstairs and get CEO You some coffee. She probably hasn’t eaten yet. I’ll see if there’s still breakfast available and bring her something.”
With that, she cheerfully dashed off. Xu Ye couldn’t help but call after her, “Don’t forget to sign in at HR! Being late means half a day’s pay deduction!”
Jian Qiuyi waved her hand to show she understood.
Not long after, You Song heard a knock on her office door. She responded absentmindedly, and the door opened.
Jian Qiuyi walked in with breakfast and coffee, placing them on You Song’s desk before grinning. “Sis, I got you breakfast and coffee. Eat while it’s still hot.”
You Song glanced at the food and said calmly, “Leave it there.”
Jian Qiuyi blinked, then pulled out a chair and sat down.
You Song looked up and glared at her. “Did I say you could sit?”
The glare made Jian Qiuyi’s heart flutter, and she grinned shamelessly. “Sis, are you still mad at me?”
You Song ignored her.
Jian Qiuyi, ever the eager puppy, said, “Sis, I just heard from Xu Ye that I’m going on the business trip with you. Do you need me to prepare anything?”
You Song continued signing documents without looking up. “Just bring your brain.”
The implication was that Jian Qiuyi lacked a brain.
But to Jian Qiuyi’s ears, it sounded like a loving reminder.
Sis is so good to me! She knows it’s my first time handling company business, and she’s even reminding me to bring my brain and learn. I was such a jerk for arguing with her yesterday!
Her puppy-dog eyes fixed on You Song, Jian Qiuyi said cheerfully, “Sis, about yesterday. ”
“Don’t bring up yesterday again. Just focus on your work.” You Song looked up, displeased. “I’m busy. Can you leave now?”
“Oh.” Reluctantly, Jian Qiuyi stood up, fidgeting as she tried to think of something else to say. But seeing You Song’s expression, she could only shuffle out dejectedly, looking like a kicked puppy.
After the person left, You Song finally put down her pen and rubbed her temples in frustration.
What a childish fool.
