Savage Kiss - Chapter 92
Shi Qing’s expression darkened. “Did you come out of the bathroom without wiping your mouth after eating?”
Then he turned to Shen Yanzhou. “Your woman?”
Shen Yanzhou had just finished looking at the photo, his brows furrowed in deep thought, clearly lost in his own reflections. He replied coldly, “No.”
Shi Qing shot a glance at Shen Yaoyao. “Watch your mouth, or I’ll knock your implants out.”
Shen Yaoyao’s face flushed red and black with anger. “Are you insane?”
Back when she’d learned Shen Yanzhou liked large breasts, she’d specifically gotten a breast augmentation, but it looked perfectly natural.
Shi Qing picked up the glass of water poured for him. Just as Shen Yaoyao raised her hand to strike him, Shi Qing splashed the water in her face.
Shen Yaoyao couldn’t dodge in time. Her foot twisted, and she bumped into a nearby table before falling flat on her back in a humiliating heap, her wet hair plastered to her face.
Shi Qing let out a satisfied “tsk” and retorted sarcastically on the spot, “Now that pose is truly an eyesore.”
“Come here,” Shen Yanzhou suddenly called to Shi Qing.
Shi Qing instinctively followed but then abruptly stopped. Why was he obeying like a puppy?
He halted, lifting his chin arrogantly. “What?”
Shen Yanzhou glanced at Shen Yaoyao but said nothing. He grabbed his car keys, moved the car out, and gestured for Shi Qing to get in.
He also glanced at Liang Fanglin, signaling him to send Shen Yaoyao away.
Shen Yanzhou drove straight ahead and then pulled over by the roadside.
“When did this happen?” he asked.
Shen Yanzhou usually kept a low profile and never paid attention to gossip, especially since he’d been extremely busy these past few days.
Shi Qing snorted lightly. “You don’t even know about something this big happening to her, and you claim to like her? With your level of attention, if you ever manage to win her over, I’ll stand on my head and be your groomsman.”
Shen Yanzhou turned his head and shot him an impatient glare.
Shi Qing was anxious too, he still needed to hurry and find Xu Qingyi. “It’s been a few days. At first, it was just photos, but then someone dug up her privacy and claimed the photos were of her.”
Shen Yanzhou’s frown deepened, and he remained silent for a long while.
Shi Qing grew impatient. “If you’ve got nothing else, give me the car. I need to go be with her.”
He made to get out of the car.
Shen Yanzhou said abruptly, “Can you handle this?”
Shi Qing paused. “Why are you asking? It’s not like you can solve it anyway. I’m already working on a plan.”
“When will you come up with one? Tomorrow? The day after? Wait until the online bullying drowns her?”
Shi Qing felt less confident under his questioning. Gritting his teeth, he declared, “If Xu Qingyi agrees to be my girlfriend, I’ll solve it in an hour!”
Shen Yanzhou suddenly fixed his gaze on him. “She agreed?”
It was a question.
Shi Qing replied, “I’m not taking advantage of her situation. I’m already seeking her consent.”
So, not yet.
“Go be with her,” Shen Yanzhou said, checking the time. “I’ll give you two numbers later. Call them and ask if they can help resolve this.”
Shi Qing was confused. “What do you mean? You know someone?”
Then he laughed. “Forget it. I know people too. I made calls first thing in the morning, it was useless!”
As the owner of a small auto repair shop, how could Shen Yanzhou’s connections possibly be broader than his?
Even though Shi Qing hadn’t taken over the family business yet, he still held the title of heir to Tianhua Group, and even that hadn’t helped.
Shen Yanzhou started the car, drove Shi Qing to the apartment building, and handed him the keys. “Come get the car tonight.”
Shi Qing grinned. “Afraid I’ll stay over?”
Shen Yanzhou ignored him, turned, and walked away, already on the phone with someone as he left.
Shi Qing sent Xu Qingyi a message, directly asking if he could go up and keep her company.
He only knew she lived in this building but not which floor or apartment, so he had to wait.
Xu Qingyi opened the door for Shi Qing and politely stepped aside. “Come in. Would you like some tea?”
Shi Qing could tell she was in poor spirits. “Don’t worry about me.”
Xu Qingyi poured him a glass of water. “Have you… talked to your mom about it?”
Shi Qing glanced at her. “You haven’t agreed yet… or have you?”
Xu Qingyi smiled helplessly. “There’s no other way. I still have to save face in the future, I can’t let this hang over me forever.”
Shi Qing nodded and immediately took out his phone to contact his mother.
Just then, the screen lit up.
Shi Qing received a phone number from Shen Yanzhou, followed by a message: [Contact this. Send a lawyer’s letter afterward.]
He was puzzled, what did “afterward” mean?
Then he received another message from Shen Yanzhou: [If she asks, say it’s your connection.]
Shi Qing was completely baffled but decided to check today’s hot searches with skepticism.
To his surprise, all the news about the photos had vanished, and the hot search rankings had completely refreshed.
At that moment, Xu Qingyi had gone to the bedroom, so Shi Qing got up and went to the balcony to call Shen Yanzhou.
“Did you handle this?”
Shi Qing was astonished. Where did he get such connections? And so quickly?
What puzzled him even more was, “If you could solve it, why didn’t you tell her?”
Such a good deed, and he was giving him the credit?
“Stay with her. Leave only when she’s in a better state.” Shen Yanzhou didn’t elaborate further.
He knew Xu Qingyi had no feelings for him; aside from physical intimacy, she probably found him annoying. Showing up now would only make her think he was seeking attention.
When Xu Qingyi came out, Shi Qing was holding his phone thoughtfully, as if he had just finished a call.
She assumed he had called his mother. “What did your mom say?”
Shi Qing hesitated. Shen Yanzhou had told him not to say anything, what was going on?
He walked back to the living room. “I’ll contact a lawyer first to draft a legal notice. We’ll target the bloggers who spread it widely, you shouldn’t suffer this injustice for nothing!”
Xu Qingyi was slightly surprised. “The photos are already handled?”
Shi Qing had no choice but to nod. “It was actually resolved pretty quickly.”
It was like how an ant might see a chicken as a terrifying giant, but if an elephant helped the ant deal with that little chicken, it would be effortless.
Xu Qingyi opened a few social media platforms and checked around.
They were really gone.
Shi Qing felt a bit guilty and avoided looking at her, lowering his head to call the lawyer.
When the call connected, the person on the other end introduced themselves.
Shi Qing frowned, wasn’t this the lawyer who had lost the case against his dad last year?
Over that matter, his father had been so furious he wanted to overhaul his entire legal team and poach this very lawyer, but failed.
Shi Qing’s mind was filled with exclamation marks, where on earth did Shen Yanzhou get this number?
Hearing the lawyer’s question, Shi Qing handed the phone to Xu Qingyi. “They need some of your information.”
Xu Qingyi hadn’t expected it to go so smoothly. She thought her career was over and that she could never stay in this city again.
To her, this was nothing short of a lifesaver.
After hanging up, Xu Qingyi thought for a moment and asked, “Could I trouble your mom to help find out who leaked the photos first?”
“Even though my problem is solved, the culprit shouldn’t get away with it.”
Shi Qing thought that made sense, but he couldn’t very well ask Shen Yanzhou in front of her whether the investigation could continue.
“How about we grab something to eat first? You probably haven’t had a proper meal in days, have you?”
