Savage Kiss - Chapter 47
Xu Qingyi glared at him. “I just like them this small, what’s the problem?”
Shen Yanzhou raised an eyebrow at her, a mix of displeasure and mischief in his expression. “Am I too big?”
Xu Qingyi chose to ignore him, otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to get any work done.
She sketched out the dismantled parts she had analyzed and laid them out for him to see. “You should be able to understand the mechanism.”
She even added, “Just think of it as a pen.”
“The inside is already broken. Look at this diagram, do you know how to fix it?”
“The spring mechanism is too primitive. It malfunctions easily under external force or contact with water. What should we replace it with?”
Shen Yanzhou studied her thoughtfully for a couple of seconds, his lips parting slightly. “You…”
He wanted to ask how she planned to use it but didn’t press further.
At that moment, Shen Yanzhou hadn’t given it much thought, he was only focused on helping her solve the problem.
Two hours later.
The issue was basically resolved. If she accepted the solution, he could come back another day to replace the spring mechanism with an intelligent control system.
The problem was…
Shen Yanzhou finally snapped out of it. “You went to all this trouble for this thing, so then I…”
Xu Qingyi had a rough idea of what he wanted to say that he was readily available.
He thought this was her toy, but in reality, it was her work, something she had to do.
Xu Qingyi was quite satisfied with his solution. She carefully stored his draft sketches but remained aloof, still ignoring him.
Shen Yanzhou waited for her to come out, then approached her, his tone a mix of initiative and hesitation. “Still mad?”
“No. You should head back first. That cut on your foot needs disinfecting, or it might get infected.” She wasn’t sure when he’d gotten hurt, but she had noticed the wound.
Shen Yanzhou paused, looking at her. “So, you’ve been paying that much attention to me?”
Xu Qingyi’s expression stiffened slightly as she averted her gaze. “I’m paying attention to myself. If you get hurt, it affects my quality of life.”
That remark struck a bit of a blow to masculine pride.
The corner of Shen Yanzhou’s mouth lifted slightly. “I was traveling a lot last month, but it’ll probably slow down over the next two months.”
“I’ll try to be at your beck and call, how’s that?”
She returned the items to her workspace.
Sensing Shen Yanzhou getting up from the chair, she glanced back. “Don’t follow me in.”
She carefully put everything away, then came out and closed the door.
“What do you want to eat? My treat,” she asked.
It was past six, time for dinner.
But Shen Yanzhou’s gaze lingered unabashedly on her face, like a big dog begging for treats. “I’m not hungry.”
Xu Qingyi looked at him. “You sure you don’t want to eat? It’s not like I can’t afford to treat you.”
He had already moved beside her, watching as she opened a food delivery app, then wrapped his arms around her from behind.
“Can I have something else instead?” His tone was perfectly normal as he spoke.
Xu Qingyi nodded. “Order whatever you want.”
He nuzzled against the side of her neck, brushing her earlobe. “I want to eat…”
Even after all this time, Xu Qingyi still felt her entire body buzz when those two words slipped into her ear, as if they had tapped straight into her addiction.
It had only been two days since their beach vacation, yet his stamina seemed inexhaustible, his demands unrelenting.
Giving in too easily wasn’t good, she needed to tease him a little.
But instead of saying so outright, she turned her slightly flushed face to the side and asked, “Do you still want to see that set from last time?”
Over the phone, he had repeatedly mentioned wanting to see her in black stockings, and to take pictures.
Shen Yanzhou’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. “Do I deserve that?”
Xu Qingyi finally couldn’t help but laugh at his antics.
Shen Yanzhou noticed, and his courage returned. He lowered his head to tentatively kiss her, then quickly shifted to wanting a deeper kiss.
As he leaned in, Xu Qingyi raised her hand and pressed it against his lips. “Can I make a small request?”
“Go ahead.”
She was serious, she was worried that later, when she wanted to draw him, he might refuse.
So, she decided to secure a favor in advance.
“Today, you can look and take photos, but in the future, will you indulge a little quirk of mine too?”
Shen Yanzhou, a grown man, felt he had nothing left to hide in front of her.
“No take-backs,” Xu Qingyi said solemnly.
After all, the stakes were high.
Then she stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick peck.
But that was like throwing a spark into dry kindling, things quickly spiraled out of control as Shen Yanzhou kissed her for what felt like forever.
No pain, no gain. Xu Qingyi had mentally prepared herself for today.
Her yoga training hadn’t been for nothing. Every pose she struck would give Shen Yanzhou countless nights of reminiscing. She let him take photos freely, even saving a copy for herself.
She was quite pleased. “Honestly, your skills are on par with a professional studio!”
Once the photos were done, it was time to move on to the main event.
But just as their kiss reached its most intense, most uncontrollable moment, Xu Qingyi suddenly called a stop, right at that critical juncture!
Shen Yanzhou’s gaze was dark, his brows furrowed as he looked down at her, his voice rough with desire. “What’s wrong?”
Xu Qingyi blinked innocently, her pretty brows knitting together. “Um… I think it’s here.”
Shen Yanzhou’s mind was still clouded with want, slow to process. “Who’s here?”
She pressed her lips together. “My period…”
When realization struck, Shen Yanzhou nearly bit down on her neck in frustration, his voice thick with suppressed tension. “You’re going to be the death of me.”
It was clear, his veins were practically bulging. He was hanging by a thread, and this delay would torture him for at least three days and nights.
Xu Qingyi didn’t have time to worry about him. She slipped out of his arms and hurried to the bathroom.
Her cycle had always been punctual, though the exact days varied slightly each month.
That morning, she’d felt a faint ache in her lower abdomen and suspected it might be today and sure enough, it was. So, she hadn’t been lying.
When she came back out, Shen Yanzhou was slumped in resignation, looking at her with a mix of exasperation and helplessness. “I ordered dinner. Nothing spicy.”
Xu Qingyi: “Let me transfer you the money. I said I’d treat you, I can’t keep letting you pay.”
Shen Yanzhou refused.
But she was insistent. “If you keep this up, I won’t dare eat with you anymore.”
Unable to sway her, he finally accepted her transfer.
Then he watched her with an amused, almost fascinated expression. “You’re clearly tight on money, yet you love paying for others?”
She shrugged. “I’m a civilized person. Enjoying someone’s service without paying is just thuggish behavior.”
During dinner, Shen Yanzhou listened as she mentioned she’d be busy the next few days, needing to go into the city daily. He frowned disapprovingly.
“Even in your condition, you’re pushing yourself like this?”
Xu Qingyi waved it off. “I don’t get cramps.”
Besides, the art academy was probably in the middle of exams these days. If she missed this window, the opportunity would be gone.
Still, knowing today had been rough on him, she carefully measured her words. “It’s just two or three days. Once I’m done, I’ll contact you, there’s actually something I’ll need your help with.”
Her period was regular, after the first three heavy days, by the fourth, it was completely over.
The timing was just right. After finishing her part-time job, she needed to set aside a week specifically for upgrading this product. There was no guarantee the experience testers wouldn’t have feedback, which would mean further revisions, and the delivery timeline had already been extended.
Of course, if inspiration struck after she finished painting Shen Yanzhou, judging by the reception of her first new design, things would go smoothly.
