- Chapter 4 - The God of Morning Classes (Part 3)
Jiang Liexing did not believe that they were just ordinary classmates. “Do you know who the last person to eat with Pei Huaiye was?”
Wu Hui was not very interested. “Tell me.”
Jiang Liexing: “There was no such person!”
Wu Hui: “If I had known your words were this entertaining, I would have stayed to listen to them on the Spring Festival Gala.”
“…” Jiang Liexing emphasized, “The fourth floor of the cafeteria is the Crown Prince’s territory! Even the Crown Prince’s lackeys have never been on the fourth floor. You are the first one!”
This was the second time today Wu Hui had heard something like this. He waved his hand dismissively and put his tablet on charge.
“I only went to the fourth floor, not the Western Paradise. If you are really that idle, you might as well prepare for the CET-4 or CET-6 exams.”
The registration link for the exams had been posted in the group, and Wu Hui had registered for them effortlessly.
Jianqiu: “It is like this, Host: once the client finishes university, he can go abroad for further studies. He has a company to inherit at home, so it makes no difference whether he gets the certificates or not.”
Wu Hui searched for the postgraduate recommendation requirements for the missile maintenance major: “What did you say?”
Jianqiu: “…Nothing.”
The client who returned to his original world would not retain memories of the Space-Time Alliance; he would only fuse with the time the substitute spent, feeling as if he had lived through it himself.
Wu Hui hoped that when the client returned and discovered that in addition to passing his CET exams, he had also obtained various professional certifications, was rated excellent every year, won scholarships, and even secured a postgraduate recommendation, he would want to fulfill his ambitions only to find his mind empty. He hoped the client would not suspect that his four years of university had been hijacked.
On the campus message board, someone asked:
“Wall, anonymous. Did anyone go to bump into the Crown Prince today? What was the result?”
Someone in the comments replied: “I tried. I was not looking and bumped into a 190cm muscular guy. He grabbed my butt.”
“Asking for a photo of the 190cm muscular guy, I am going to try.”
The first commenter replied: “Thanks, we are together now.”
“It is useless, do not try it. The Crown Prince does not allow any living creature within two meters of him. I am curious how they managed to bump into him.”
“Could it be hype? Did they actually not bump into him?”
“I was at the scene. He really bumped into him.”
“Ordinary people cannot even touch the corner of the Crown Prince’s clothes. It is not as if the Crown Prince bumped into him on purpose, right?”
The campus board was buzzing with discussion, while Wu Hui rushed to his early classes every day.
The morning class that day was an elective. Wu Hui arrived at the classroom early and chose a seat by the window in the front row. Students rarely chose the front row for electives, so he was the only one there. The students who stumbled in right before the bell were in a daze, their bodies awake but their minds still asleep, forcibly powering themselves up with encouragement: “I survived another day. Let’s go, Lu Xiaokui!”
Wu Hui looked up from his phone and noticed that the huge classroom felt filled with an aura of gloom. He lowered his head again to continue playing his farming game.
That was until the classroom suddenly erupted in a murmur.
Wu Hui did not even look up before he heard footsteps approaching, followed by someone sitting down next to him.
“Good morning.” The male voice was magnetic.
The synchronized gasps of the students echoed throughout the room.
“Hiss…”
“Who exactly is he? He actually got the Crown Prince to attend an early elective class!”
The students were wide awake now, not daring to speak loudly, but the chat in the campus group never stopped.
“Big news! The Crown Prince has come to our early elective class!”
“Suspected to be accompanying his boyfriend!”
“If you said the Crown Prince was attending an elective class, I would come, but since you said it is an early 8 AM class, not even a dog would attend.”
“There are still several rows of seats, come quickly!”
“What? The Crown Prince is accompanying his boyfriend to class? It is 8 AM, never mind, I am going back to sleep.”
The campus group scrolled for a long time, but only a few people came to check it out, most of whom were old acquaintances.
Wu Hui exchanged a look with Nian Zhi, who was sitting diagonally behind them.
“…”
“Good morning.” Wu Hui said lazily, “Senior, you are truly persistent.”
Pei Huaiye did not deny it. “Have you had breakfast?”
The tomatoes Wu Hui was growing had ripened. He clicked to harvest them without looking up. “If you did not bring me a portion directly, there is no need to ask such questions.”
“You cannot eat in the teaching building,” Pei Huaiye said. “I will take you to eat after class.”
What a rule-abiding Crown Prince.
Wu Hui laughed. “With your persona, should you not be ignoring regulations, with your eyes set in the top of your head, not even putting the professor in your eyes?”
Pei Huaiye followed his lead: “Those with eyes set in the top of their heads are four-eyed fish.”
The bell rang for class, and the professor stood at the podium, quite surprised.
“Everyone is in high spirits today.”
Usually, everyone would be slumped over by now, and the professor would often perform to a pile of back-of-heads. Today, only a few stubborn ones who had slept like the dead had missed the Crown Prince’s attendance. The professor noticed the reason, of course, and joked: “It is only a small 8 AM class. If others can get up early to accompany their significant others to class, why can’t you?”
A student raised their hand: “Professor, may I ask, does the school distribute significant others, or…”
The professor was calm: “A significant other is something that comes naturally when the time is right. If you do not have one, then you just do not.”
The class laughed, fully awake.
Wu Hui remained calm and continued playing his farm game. His strawberries were about to ripen. Seeing this, Pei Huaiye asked in a low voice, “Do you like playing farming games?”
Wu Hui: “Unhun.”
Pei Huaiye: “Do you play until 4 AM?”
Wu Hui: “…”
It was the client Chu Yu who played until 4 AM, and he was not playing a farming game. It seemed Pei Huaiye had investigated Chu Yu’s situation thoroughly.
“Is there a problem?” Wu Hui harvested the bright red strawberries. “Look at the strawberries I grew—big and red. Can you do that?”
Pei Huaiye’s gaze drifted across his fair, slender neck. “Who says I cannot? I can grow real strawberries.”
Nian Zhi and other students in the back rows had been keeping a close eye on their situation. They could not hear a word of the lecture; they pricked up their ears at every movement.
“Do not rush, do not rush—it seems they were doing it until 4 AM…”
“Oh my god, the Crown Prince is worthy of the name!”
He can still get up for morning class after being at it until 4 AM!
“What else, what else?”
“There is more…” Nian Zhi read his lips on the spot. “Look at the strawberries on my neck. Hubby, you are amazing!”
“Oh, oh, oh, oh!”
Wu Hui ignored the commotion behind him. He had grown used to the “frog chorus” that appeared whenever Pei Huaiye was around. With gazes from all directions warming his neck, Wu Hui pulled at his collar and looked directly at him with clear, cold eyes.
“Senior is so impressive. You must be quite practiced, right?”
Pei Huaiye said slowly: “I would not call it practiced. Do you want to see if you and I are?”
He was shadowed by that other person’s presence. Wu Hui’s eyes narrowed slowly, and he turned back.
“No.”
“Are you sure?” Pei Huaiye invited, “I have a large strawberry patch at home. If you like, I can take you there. You can eat or grow as many as you want.”
Both were foxes who had cultivated for a thousand years. Wu Hui would not fall for his trick. He hinted: “There are too many strawberries. I am afraid I cannot handle them.”
Pei Huaiye’s laugh was low: “Only when there are many is there enough to eat.”
