Quick Transmigration: Brother, You Smell So Good, Let Me Flirt With You As I Pass By. - Chapter 3
Wu Hui did not need to look back. With his superior hearing, he caught the hushed conspiracy behind him: “What kind of meal is this? Is it the kind where he sits on his lap to eat? Does he kiss him while eating? Do they open a hotel room after kissing? Do they get a marriage certificate after that?”
In just a few short sentences, they had arranged their entire future.
Under the weight of several burning gazes, Wu Hui stepped forward and smiled, accepting the invitation. “Sure.”
Walking on campus with Pei Huaiye, they attracted everyone’s attention. Many people on the roadside secretly took photos and posted them to the school’s internal group, where the discussion count instantly surged past 99. Wu Hui was quickly identified as the person who had bumped into Pei Huaiye earlier that morning.
Consequently, what began as curiosity about who he was evolved into a new trend: bumping into Pei Huaiye meant you could walk with him. Everyone was eager to try it.
Wu Hui’s phone had been ringing non-stop since the beginning, so he simply put it on silent.
“So eager to hold me,” he said, his tone languid and alluring. “Senior?”
“I am only treating you to a meal,” Pei Huaiye said. “If you do not agree, I will not force you.”
Wu Hui retorted, “Agreeing is not called forcing; it is called mutual consent.”
Pei Huaiye looked like he had learned something new and asked, “Then when will you be willing to give your mutual consent?”
Wu Hui was amused by his way of speaking and tossed his books to him.
“You educated people are quite interesting when you act like hooligans.”
He was carved from the same mold as Yan Huaimin. It was impossible to believe they were unrelated.
“You are not treating me to a meal? Which floor are we going to, Senior?”
The first three floors of the cafeteria were for students. Since it was peak lunchtime and the cafeteria was crowded, Pei Huaiye took his books and shielded him into the elevator, pressing the button for the fourth floor.
“We are not eating downstairs.”
Wu Hui found this novel. “Is the fourth floor reserved specifically for you?”
Pei Huaiye did not deny it.
So it was. No wonder he was the Crown Prince of the Pei family and the controlling shareholder of Aliston.
As they stepped out of the elevator, a butler in a tailcoat greeted them. “Young Master, lunch is prepared. Please follow me, you and Young Master Chu.”
The fourth floor was completely different from the cafeteria below, featuring an almost luxurious and elegant restaurant.
“Do you eat here by yourself usually?”
Pei Huaiye hummed in response.
The butler spoke at the right moment: “Rest assured, Young Master Chu. You are the first man the Young Master has ever brought to this dining hall.”
Wu Hui: “Your scamming lines are at the level of a phishing center download.”
Others brought people home; this guy brought them to the cafeteria.
Pei Huaiye, like an elegant gentleman, pulled out a chair for him. “Everything has been prepared according to your usual tastes. I hope you like it.”
Wu Hui sat down without hesitation. “How do you know my tastes?”
Pei Huaiye: “Student card records.”
“…”
The client’s tastes did not represent Wu Hui’s tastes.
Wu Hui always acted on his mood. He lacked professional ethics, and he had people to clean up whatever mess he made during a mission. He swept a glance over the meticulously prepared dishes and issued a veto.
“I do not like any of these.”
Pei Huaiye summoned the butler. “What would you like to eat? We can prepare anything here.”
Wu Hui thought to himself that he had just returned from an ancient world, and the things he wanted to eat were mostly forbidden by criminal law.
“Snail rice noodles, maybe.”
Pei Huaiye paused. “With an egg?”
“No…” Wu Hui leaned back, then wondered if he had misheard. “You agreed?”
Whenever he ate snail rice noodles, it was a rare moment of peace, because Yan Huaimin could not stand the smell; the moment he ate it, Yan Huaimin would disappear. If he insisted Yan Huaimin stay, Yan Huaimin would shield his sense of smell. If he forced him to eat together, the man would even shield his sense of taste.
If Pei Huaiye truly had an issue, he would not believe he would not reveal his true colors. But he had agreed so easily?
“As long as you like it.”
Pei Huaiye’s expression did not change at all, and he summoned the butler to prepare it.
Wu Hui: “?”
Just a man who insisted on being strong, he supposed. Wu Hui refused to believe he had guessed wrong.
However, when the most luxurious snail rice noodles arrived, Pei Huaiye accompanied him and ate them without changing his expression once, even asking if he had enough.
Wu Hui found the meal tasteless.
“You finish it, I have no appetite.”
Pei Huaiye asked with concern: “Is it not to your taste? Should I have it remade?”
Wu Hui did not really like snail rice noodles that much; he ate them purely to annoy others. Feeling irritated, he said, “No need, I just like watching you eat.”
Pei Huaiye said nothing more and actually finished the entire bowl.
He was even worried Wu Hui would be hungry later and asked the butler to bring out some fruit.
The butler, hoping to avoid being sent away this time, learned his lesson: “Young Master Chu, do you have any dietary restrictions?”
Wu Hui hmphed. “For grapes, I want green ones, not red. Mangoes should be sliced, not cubed. I do not eat the seeds of strawberries or dragon fruit. I only want the sweetest center of the watermelon. I do not eat durian or passion fruit. That is all for now.”
The butler bowed. “It was my loose tongue.”
Pei Huaiye asked earnestly: “Aside from watching me eat snail rice noodles, do you have any other hobbies?”
Wu Hui: “…”
What he liked to watch was Yan Huaimin having to eat something he could not stand.
“Jade?”
Pei Huaiye’s gaze landed on his left wrist.
The hand was resting lazily on the table, the cuff slightly slipping down to reveal a string of small red beads on his wrist. Because his wrist was so slender, the beads wrapped around it exactly five times, not too loose or too tight, the red sandalwood contrasting sharply against his pale, white skin.
Wu Hui shook his wrist and explained distractedly: “It is okay. Someone else gave it to me. I am not the Buddha of the Beijing social circle.”
Pei Huaiye did not ask further.
The freshman year was packed with classes all day. After the meal, Pei Huaiye walked him back to his dormitory.
Aliston’s dormitories included double rooms and single rooms. Chu Yu lived with his roommate, Xu Shuo. Both came from families with some financial background.
Jiang Liexing had just returned from the cafeteria and bumped into Wu Hui coming out of the elevator. He greeted him: “Chu Yu, you are back… Wait! Oh my god!”
Pei Huaiye was following behind Wu Hui.
Wu Hui responded: “Where are you going?”
Jiang Liexing stammered: “I… I am going to wash my computer, excuse me.”
He quickly opened the door and slipped into the dorm.
Wu Hui said goodbye to Pei Huaiye at the door and took back his books. However, as he took them, he “accidentally on purpose” brushed the back of Pei Huaiye’s hand.
At the touch, Pei Huaiye pulled his hand back violently.
Wu Hui paused slightly.
Pei Huaiye lowered his eyes and extended his hand. “You can touch it again.”
Does he have a disease that requires being petted?
Wu Hui did not intend to satisfy his whim. “No, I did not do it on purpose.”
“All right.” Pei Huaiye did not look disappointed. “Go inside. I am leaving now.”
“Goodbye.”
Wu Hui shrugged and entered with his books.
As soon as he was inside, Jiang Liexing jumped over: “Chu Yu, what is your relationship with the Crown Prince?!”
Wu Hui put his books down and smiled: “No relationship. Just ordinary classmates.”
The door closed.
Wu Hui thought the man had left, but Pei Huaiye remained standing in place. The back of the hand that had been touched throbbed with veins, trembling ever so slightly, like a contradiction in flesh—striving to endure while unable to restrain the surge of excitement.
He did not touch that hand, letting it tremble in the air. The conversation behind the door did not cause him any reaction. After a long while, Pei Huaiye’s fingers twitched, and he left the spot.
