Perfect Possession - Episode 48
Fortunately, the kitchen was cozy, seemingly decorated to the taste of Jaehoon’s grandmother, who had loved to cook. Seo-yeon, passing the dining table to check the refrigerator, noticed a large basket.
“What’s this?”
Opening the basket, Seo-yeon couldn’t help but laugh. He had said he’d take care of everything, but inside the basket was food already prepared and ready to eat.
“It’s already here. Tae-yul, let’s eat.”
Jaehoon nonchalantly met Seo-yeon’s expression, which was full of things to say, and sat Tae-yul at the table.
“Is this what you mean by taking care of everything?”
“What do you mean?”
Jaehoon took out the food from the basket one by one and set the table. He placed a hamburger steak, made by finely grinding beef and kneading it into an easy-to-eat shape, on Tae-yul’s plate, who smacked his lips in delight.
“My son likes meat, doesn’t he?”
Jaehoon said, cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
“Meatie?”
Tae-yul replied, his eyes shining.
“Say hamburger steak. Ham, bur, ger, steak.”
Jaehoon looked at Tae-yul and said each syllable loudly. Tae-yul stared at Jaehoon and nodded lightly.
“Uh, meatie.”
No matter what Jaehoon said, Tae-yul only saw delicious meat. Tae-yul replied as if throwing the word ‘meatie’ and opened his mouth wide. Jaehoon burst into a hearty laugh and put a piece in his mouth, which he ate with wide eyes.
“What are you doing? Sit down and eat too. Should I cut it for you?”
Seo-yeon glanced at Jaehoon and went to the refrigerator, opening the door. It was full of fresh ingredients.
“Are you going to keep having them prepare this for us? There’s chicken too.”
Seo-yeon asked Jaehoon, checking what was inside.
“The food will get cold. Come and eat quickly.”
Jaehoon cleverly avoided Seo-yeon’s question and carefully placed her steak on a plate.
“From dinner on, let’s just cook ourselves. I can easily cook for our family of three.”
Seo-yeon returned to the table and sat next to Tae-yul. As soon as she put it in her mouth, she picked up the meat with her fork again.
“Is it good?”
“Meatie. Mommy, meatie.”
“Our Tae-yul likes meat, doesn’t he?”
“Yum yum. Mommy yum yum.”
Tae-yul held out his fork to Seo-yeon.
“You want Mommy to eat?”
“Yum yum.”
Seo-yeon had asked last night, “Is Tae-yul yum yum?” He must have remembered it and said it.
Looking at the piece of hamburger steak Tae-yul held out, Seo-yeon’s heart swelled with maternal love. Her uvula tickled, and the tip of her nose tingled.
Seo-yeon smiled brightly, opened her mouth wide, and ate the meat with a sound.
“Yum. Wow, it’s delicious.”
“Oh? Tae-yul, what about Daddy?”
Jaehoon, genuinely envious, put down his meat and approached Tae-yul, opening his mouth.
“Tae-yul, you’ll give Daddy some too, right?”
“Uh.”
Tae-yul nodded his head vigorously and stabbed a piece of hamburger steak with his fork, holding it out to Jaehoon.
“Yum. As expected, the meat my son gives me is the most delicious.”
Jaehoon followed Seo-yeon’s lead and gave a thumbs up.
The three began their dinner in earnest. Tae-yul would put down his spoon when he was full, but when new food came out, he would pick it up again and try to eat.
So, if there was dessert, they had to leave a little of the main course. Once, they had foolishly fed him everything, and he had thrown up.
But today, there was no dessert prepared separately, so they let him eat all the buttered corn that came with the hamburger steak. But Tae-yul stared intently at Seo-yeon, as if he had something to say.
“Why? Tae-yul.”
“…Poo.”
Tae-yul moved his lips and said briefly.
“Poo?”
Jaehoon, who was about to check a text message on his phone, repeated Tae-yul’s words.
“I don’t know. Poo? What is it?”
“Poo.”
This time, he said it more clearly and pretended to scoop something up with a spoon and eat it. Seo-yeon looked at Jaehoon with a surprised expression.
“Could it be pudding? Tae-yul ate it well for dessert.”
“Poo!”
As if pudding was right, as soon as Seo-yeon said pudding, he shouted ‘Poo!’ loudly.
“It’s pudding.”
Jaehoon was as happy as someone who had successfully completed an important project, and Seo-yeon was dumbfounded.
“Are you that happy?”
“Of course. Wait a minute, the villa chef is at the villa manager’s house. I’ll ask. Oh, I got a text. They said there’s ice cream in the freezer.”
Jaehoon quickly went to the refrigerator and opened the freezer door. He smiled briefly and took out an ice cream cake decorated with the words ‘Welcome!’
He showed the ice cream to Seo-yeon and Tae-yul and shrugged his shoulders. Tae-yul, who had been staring blankly at the ice cream, suddenly screamed and reached out his hand, making a fuss.
“Wow, icey!”
Tae-yul, who had eaten it a few times, actually liked ice cream more than pudding. The problem was that once he started eating ice cream, he wouldn’t stop. So, they always gave him only a moderate amount.
Seo-yeon looked at Tae-yul, who looked like he was about to snatch the ice cream from Jaehoon, and hurriedly got up and went to Jaehoon to take the ice cream cake.
“What are you doing showing him all of this?”
Seo-yeon quickly hid the cake with her body and scolded Jaehoon.
“Why?”
“If you give it to him like that, he won’t put down his spoon until he eats it all. He’ll cough. Really. Go to Tae-yul quickly. I’ll cut off a little bit.”
“I didn’t know that.”
Jaehoon muttered with an apologetic expression and went to Tae-yul.
“Daddypa, icey?”
Tae-yul opened his eyes wide and asked when Jaehoon came empty-handed.
“Mommy’s cutting it now.”
He had seen the big one, and Jaehoon felt sorry for him because he would be very disappointed if Seo-yeon only brought a little.
“Parenting is similar to business. You have to look into the other person’s psychology. Don’t you think?”
“It’s harder than that. Tae-yul, Mommy will bring it soon.”
Seo-yeon carefully cut the ribboned gift box decoration so that it wouldn’t be damaged and put it on a plate. And she put only half of that on Jaehoon’s and her own.
He would be disappointed, but she thought he would be less upset if he thought his was the biggest. As Seo-yeon thought, Tae-yul frowned and looked at the refrigerator.
Then, realizing that his ice cream was more than the other two, he hugged his plate and ate it deliciously without saying a word. He didn’t like anyone touching him only when he was eating ice cream.
He didn’t care if it was on his mouth, and he sometimes stuck out his red tongue and licked around his mouth. The sight was so cute that Jaehoon was busy taking pictures of Tae-yul with his phone, not even thinking about eating ice cream.
Seo-yeon had to spoon-feed him to get him to eat.
After brushing his teeth after lunch, Tae-yul started to doze off without even going out to see the villa. It was nap time, so the two put Tae-yul to sleep in a place where the garden was clearly visible.
Jaehoon, who had brewed coffee himself, approached Seo-yeon, who was standing by the window looking at the garden.
“The coffee smells good.”
“It’s the chocolate scent you like.”
“Thank you. But you don’t have to match my taste. You like bitter coffee, Jaehoon.”
Seo-yeon felt sorry as she accepted the coffee cup.
“What are you talking about? I used to like this too. I just said I liked bitter coffee to look cool.”
When she entered as his secretary, one of the important things was to understand his coffee preferences.
Jaehoon’s favorite beans were bitter coffee that had been French roasted. Seo-yeon stared at Jaehoon, who was putting his arm around her shoulder. He took a sip of coffee and quietly asked, looking at the garden.
“Why?”
‘Why doesn’t he know when he’s telling me with his whole body like this?’
It would be a lie to say that she didn’t want to hear the words ‘I love you’. Seo-yeon was also a woman, and she definitely had the desire to hear the words ‘I love you’ from his mouth. But when she felt his kindness like this, she wondered if such words were a big deal.
“Because you’re so cool.”
Seo-yeon leaned on Jaehoon’s shoulder and looked outside. Trees were sparsely planted in the large garden. The types were also diverse, from palm trees to mandarin orange trees, a free garden without anything specifically defined.
“Grandma hated things being blocked. She said the forest path was good as we saw it when we came in, and she didn’t allow many trees to be planted in the garden. She wanted it to be easy for me to run around and play.”
Jaehoon paused for a moment and smiled.
“And?”
Seo-yeon urged him, curious.
“But I didn’t like running around and playing. I just liked reading books or making things.”
“Ah…”
Seo-yeon looked back at Tae-yul, who was asleep without her knowing. Jaehoon’s gaze naturally followed.
“Our Tae-yul doesn’t seem to be like that. He likes playing outside. He also likes reading books when he goes to the center.”
Seo-yeon smiled brightly, very satisfied.
“But Seo-yeon, do you know why I didn’t run around?”
Jaehoon said seriously.
“Because I sweat. I didn’t like that. But if you look at our son, he likes being held rather than walking, and he likes riding in a stroller rather than running. That’s a bit.”
“No way. I’m just going to let him play as much as he sweats.”
Seo-yeon cut off Jaehoon’s words and said firmly.
“Kids just have to run around.”
“Ah, I get it now.”
Jaehoon looked at her playfully, enjoying himself.
“So that’s why you were so hung up on playing ball.”
“Do you get it now?”
“Well, even if he doesn’t run around, he can grow up to be a cool guy like me, but since you want him to, I’ll do my best to let him run around and play.”
“Aren’t you embarrassed to say you’re cool yourself?”
“Why would I be embarrassed? It’s the truth.”
“You’re annoying. But it’s also true.”
Seo-yeon glared, but didn’t lose her smile.
“Do you want to listen to the sound of the sea?”
Beyond the villa, the sea was visible. Because the villa was built a little higher than the land, when you opened the window, you could hear the sound of the sea and see the waves rippling beyond the horizon.
The two couldn’t go outside while Tae-yul was sleeping, so they decided to listen to the sound of the sea there.
When they opened all the living room windows, the sound of the waves came in with the scent of the sea.
“I can’t believe it. It feels like I’m dreaming.”
Seo-yeon couldn’t believe the dreamlike reality. It was a common expression, but it was the only way to express her feelings.
Jaehoon didn’t say anything and cupped her face, making her look at him.
“It’s not a dream. Should I make you believe it?”
“How?”
Seo-yeon whispered, looking at his approaching lips.
“Close your eyes, Ms. Min Seo-yeon.”
She let out a soft laugh that caressed her heart and closed her eyes. Lips that landed like feathers gently sucked on her lower lip.
Seo-yeon put her hand on Jaehoon’s chest. Feeling the throbbing of his heart with her hand, she opened her mouth and enveloped the tongue that came inside.
Seo-yeon, receiving Jaehoon’s passionate kiss, returned an equally deep kiss. After catching their breath for a moment, the two leaned on each other, looked at the sea, and waited for Tae-yul to wake up.
