Older Brother - Chapter 18
31.
Bai You’s pupils constricted. In the next heartbeat, his vision blurred and the world spun. He was thrown onto the bed. Fu Yu, wearing only a towel around his waist with droplets of water rolling down his bare chest, knelt on the mattress with a darkened expression, looming over him.
He was furious.
Arrogance was etched into an Alpha’s DNA, and the higher their rank, the more pronounced it became.
The first time, Bai You had escaped through a window. The second time, he had knocked Fu Yu unconscious to flee. Time and again, these escapes were not just flights—they were direct challenges to an Alpha’s dignity and bottom line.
A suffocating wave of intense pheromones crashed over him. For a few seconds, Bai You even lost consciousness as his body surrendered to a searing, primal desire. By the time he regained a sliver of awareness, his bathrobe had slipped from his shoulders. He was locked in the Alpha’s embrace; his lips were being sucked and bitten until they ached, and his tongue was forced into a tangled, desperate dance that tasted faintly of copper.
The Alpha’s hand slid beneath his loosened waistband.
No. not this. This absolutely cannot happen!
Bai You’s breath hitched into broken gasps. He tried to push Fu Yu away, but the disparity in strength was too great; Fu Yu didn’t budge an inch. Desperate, Bai You steeled his heart and slightly moved his tongue, feigning a response to the kiss.
The sudden shift from resistance to apparent reciprocation sent a jolt of sweetness through the enraged Alpha. His agitation softened, and the crushing grip around Bai You’ve body loosened slightly. Whether it was a hallucination or reality, the kiss seemed to take on a hint of genuine tenderness.
Bai You’s eyelashes trembled. Against his pale skin, they looked like the dark wings of a butterfly.
The hand at his waist stilled. Fu Yu seemed to be savoring the moment.
In that split second, Bai You gathered every ounce of strength he possessed and shoved Fu Yu away. Ignoring the Alpha’s stunned look, he twisted around and grabbed the emergency suppressants from a hidden compartment in the headboard.
The auto-injector only needed to be uncapped to work. He pulled out the last one, intending to plunge it into his arm without a second thought.
Before the needle could touch skin, a crushing force clamped onto his wrist. His bones groaned under the pressure, and the suppressant was easily snatched away and tossed onto the floor.
Bai You instinctively tried to dive after it, but as his body slid toward the edge of the bed, the grip on his wrist tightened. He was yanked back onto the mattress, forced to face a pair of dark eyes burning with incandescent rage.
The Alpha’s face was terrifying. Stripped of his usual composure, Fu Yu looked truly murderous. He ground out through clenched teeth, “Injecting this much in one day—are you tired of living?”
The suppressants Bai You used came from the black market. They were unregulated and far more potent than legal versions. A typical Omega would take fifteen days to metabolize a single dose, let alone two in one day.
It was only because of Bai You’s long-term use of Alpha-disguise agents and his unusually high drug resistance that he hadn’t collapsed already.
But this heat was clearly beyond the reach of any chemical suppressant. Recently, Bai You had been deprived of his disguise agents. Furthermore, he had spent every night being held by Fu Yu—an Alpha with whom he had a perfect compatibility. His long-dormant glands, nourished by Fu Yu’s pheromones, had been sparked into a frenzy. His suppressed heat was like a spring coiled to its limit; now, it had finally snapped and exploded.
His recent lack of appetite and strange spikes in libido were merely his body preparing for this moment.
Bai You had been oblivious to these changes, but Fu Yu had seen everything. He had been looking forward to watching his “brother” always so cold and self-contained react when his heat finally broke.
Instead, Bai You was ready to risk his life just to shut it down.
Fu Yu hadn’t been this incensed in a long time.
He couldn’t tell if his pride was wounded because Bai You would rather damage his own body than let him help, or if he was simply furious at the man’s reckless disregard for his own safety.
An Omega’s heat pheromones naturally affect an Alpha, but the sheer force of Fu Yu’s anger acted like a cold bucket of water, momentarily yanking him out of the haze of lust.
Bai You’s fever had reached its peak. When Fu Yu’s oppressive pheromones crashed down on him in anger, it was the final blow. It wasn’t just the last straw; it was a mountain.
The suppressed tidal wave of heat surged back, fueled by the Alpha’s pheromones, and completely swallowed his consciousness. The simplest touch now caused him to shudder. Bai You’s breathing was shallow and rapid. Despite his parched throat, a humiliating dampness began to manifest.
His body was fully prepared for the heat.
The rich scent of cold orchids filled every corner of the bedroom.
The last spark of logic vanished from his eyes. His usually steady voice now carried a hint of a sob. “You…”
The Omega lay beneath him, his face flushed with a drunken red, looking heartbreakingly vulnerable.
Fu Yu stared down at him coldly, but then he suddenly pulled away, refusing to provide the comfort Bai You so clearly needed.
The sudden loss of contact left Bai You dazed, trapped in the fiery prison of his own biology. Their 100% compatibility made him instinctively crave the Alpha nearby. He couldn’t understand why the warmth was leaving. He reached out, his fingers brushing against Fu Yu’s muscular forearm.
But the Alpha was heartless in his withdrawal. Bai You’s strength was so meager that even with full effort, he couldn’t hold on. His nails merely left a faint scratch on Fu Yu’s skin.
It felt like a kitten’s scratch. Fu Yu stared at Bai You’s sweat-soaked throat, his eyes dark. His canines ached with the urge to sink into that skin, but his bruised ego held him back.
Even though his body had long since reacted, Fu Yu kept his expression mask-like. He sat at the foot of the bed, his face twisted into a cruel smirk. “Beg me.”
Driven by an insatiable instinct, Bai You’s lips parted. His voice was a raspy shadow of itself. “Please.”
He had never been this compliant.
“I said beg,” Fu Yu said, his Adam’s apple bobbing even as his smirk remained cold. “I’m not in a charitable mood right now, Brother. You offended me earlier.”
At the mention of that title, Bai You’s body seemed to flinch. A flicker of awareness returned to his eyes.
This was retaliation.
It was payback for every time Bai You had challenged his pride and authority.
Fu Yu watched him with predatory patience. “Say something sweet. If you do, I’ll—”
Before he could finish, Bai You suddenly raised a hand to cover his reddened eyes. He took several heavy, ragged breaths. His pale lips were now wet and as vivid as crushed flower petals. His white chest rose and fell, stained with the flush of fever like ripples on water at sunset.
Fu Yu’s words caught in his throat. He licked his lips.
He wanted to kiss him.
If Bai You would just yield a single inch… even if it was only because the heat had muddled his brain, Fu Yu was willing to let everything else go.
However, in the next moment, Bai You took a deep breath and suddenly bolted upright, attempting to scramble off the bed.
Fu Yu hadn’t expected him to regain his senses. He immediately lunged to grab him. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“If you won’t do it, then get out,” Bai You said, his voice dropping back into a cold, detached tone. His hair was damp with sweat, making it look even darker against the ivory curve of his slender neck. “I’ll go find someone else.”
Fu Yu let out a sharp, angry laugh. “Find someone else? Like who?”
Bai You turned his head, his eyes shimmering with moisture and the corners rimmed with red. He spoke with a terrifying lightness: “Tang Xu.”
Fu Yu’s possessiveness exploded instantly. His mind went white as he yanked Bai You back toward him, pinning him down and snarling as he crashed his lips against his. “Like hell you will!”
