- Chapter 14 - Don't Use the Same Tactics on Me That You Use on Your Lovers
Whether it was because Fu Yu had suddenly discovered a long-lost sliver of conscience or for some other reason, the restrictions placed on Bai You were eased following that night at the banquet.
At the very least, he was no longer confined to Fu Yu’s bedroom. He was allowed to walk freely through the estate and was even granted the “mercy” of going out occasionally. Of course, he was always shadowed by several monitors masquerading as bodyguards, making him the center of attention wherever he went.
Unable to bear the constant intrusion, Bai You visited his usual gemstone shop, bought some ordinary materials, and immediately retreated into his small studio upon returning to the old estate.
Fu Yu always seemed preoccupied, frequently away from home.
Their daily life seemed to have reverted to the state of affairs before that one absurd, chaotic night.
However, no matter how late Fu Yu returned, he would invariably rouse the soundly sleeping old butler. With a pleasant smile, he would listen as the yawning old man reported everything Bai You had done that day. Afterward, with almost supernatural precision, he would root out the Omega from whatever corner he had crawled into to hide and force a “brotherly” snuggle for the night.
This turned the household upside down. Even the good-natured butler began to show signs of resentment and occasionally muttered complaints under his breath.
Being subjected to this daily by the Alpha who had marked him was taking a toll on Bai You. Every morning, the tug-of-war between their pheromones left his throat parched and raw.
He truly couldn’t fathom what this lunatic Alpha was trying to achieve. The next day, he headed back to the shop.
His subordinates were quick-witted. They immediately hung a “90% Off Sale” sign at the door, using the sudden influx of noisy customers as cover to exchange information with him.
“The tracking shackle on your ankle is the latest model. Each ring has only one corresponding controller—it’s unique,” the Beta explained with a professional, enthusiastic smile while keeping his voice barely audible. “We’ve tried various decryption methods, but all failed. If we want to crack it successfully, it’s going to take a lot of time.”
“How long?” Bai You frowned, idly rolling a small blue diamond between his fingers.
The Beta said confidently, “Within five years!”
Bai You: “…”
He stared at the small diamond, his frown deepening. “Is there a simpler way?”
“Are you suggesting we use physical force to destroy the shackle? Forcing it open would likely trigger the self-destruct sequence and detonate it immediately.”
“I meant,” Bai You said expressionlessly, “what if I just cut my ankle off and had it reattached later?”
Meeting his gaze, the Beta felt a chill run down his spine. He swallowed hard, momentarily speechless.
The old lady had left them to Bai You, but because Bai You rarely contacted them and always appeared mild-tempered, they hadn’t taken him very seriously over the years.
Yet, as hardened as they were, even they wouldn’t have the heart to hack off their own foot just to escape a shackle.
Seeing the man’s face turn pale, Bai You lowered his gaze, tossed the diamond back, and gave a casual smile. “It was a joke.”
That evening, Fu Yu returned earlier than usual, carrying an exquisitely wrapped gift box.
Inside was a blue diamond of exceptional quality, refracting misty, fragmented light under the lamps.
Bai You snapped the box shut and looked expressionlessly at Fu Yu, who was sitting leisurely and watching him with a silent smile.
The Alpha looked like a lion that had caught a choice piece of prey; he clearly believed he had catered perfectly to the Omega’s tastes and was smugly waiting for his gratitude.
Bai You didn’t feel courted; he felt provoked.
He threw the box back into Fu Yu’s lap and turned to leave.
The smile froze on Fu Yu’s lips. Watching Bai You walk away without looking back, his expression darkened. “Didn’t you all say he looked dissatisfied while looking at small diamonds earlier today?”
Several Beta bodyguards shuffled their feet and stammered, not daring to make a sound.
Over the past few days, Bai You had been found no matter where he hid. Having failed at passive resistance, he didn’t even want to fight it anymore and voluntarily returned to Fu Yu’s room to sleep that night.
While Fu Yu was out, he had searched the room thoroughly. Despite having little hope to begin with, he was still disappointed that he couldn’t find the controller.
Did Fu Yu really carry the controller on him at all times?
…Alphas were truly nothing but trouble.
His agitated pheromones made Bai You feel like he was losing emotional control every day. He took a deep breath, grabbed a change of clothes, and went in for a shower. When he came out, he saw that Fu Yu had returned. The man hadn’t had time to change yet and was still dressed formally in his suit.
The moment the bathroom door opened, the orchid scent that already filled the room grew much stronger. Every inch of Fu Yu’s weary nerves felt soothed, as if parched, cracked earth were being smoothed over by fine spring rain. His mood brightened instantly.
Bai You wasn’t as soft or delicate as a typical Omega; his frame was more upright and straight. He walked out in a tightly fastened bathrobe that only revealed a section of his slender calves and the black ring on his ankle.
The contrast between black and white made his ankle look exceptionally thin.
Sensing the Alpha’s predatory gaze, he immediately adjusted his robe to cover his calves, acting excessively stingy with his skin.
However, the warm water had washed away the coldness from the Omega’s features, making him look moist and soft. Fu Yu admired Bai You’s slightly pursed lips and thought the color was perfect. Before finding Bai You, he could rule out any orchid-scented Omega with a single glance, no matter how similar their pheromones seemed.
His Omega had to be exactly like Bai You, not a hair out of place.
After watching Bai You for a while, a thought crossed Fu Yu’s mind: I want to kiss him.
He had always been impulsive. He moved to block Bai You’s path like a delinquent stopping someone after school and flippantly pinched Bai You’s chin. “Not a single nice look for me. What are you so angry about? Was the gift I sent not good enough?”
Bai You’s expression went cold instantly. “I’ll only say this once: don’t use the same tactics on me that you use on your lovers.”
“Alright, alright, my fault.” Fu Yu slowly pinned Bai You against the wall. Gazing down at the Omega’s trembling brow, he suddenly said, “Someone has been digging for information about you. Do you want to know who it is?”
Who else could it be but Tang Xu?
Bai You jerked his head to break free from the man’s grip. His upward gaze was clear and calm. “Doesn’t that suit your intentions perfectly?”
Perhaps because he had just taken a hot bath, Bai You’s face had more color than usual. The pheromones he usually kept suppressed were also much stronger. His slow, warm breaths carried the faint fragrance, causing the Alpha’s Adam’s apple to bob as he swallowed.
Fu Yu felt as though he had dropped a rock on his own toes. After a long silence, he let out a husky laugh. “You Omegas really hold a grudge.”
The distance between them was closing steadily, yet Bai You seemed oblivious. His shadow was reflected in the depths of his clear pupils, and with every breath, the pheromones grew more intoxicating. “Compared to an Alpha, I wouldn’t dare claim the title…”
Before he could finish the sentence, his waist was seized and his lips were claimed. The Alpha’s originally composed pace was thrown into disarray by the pheromonal seduction. His strength was staggering as their bodies pressed and rubbed against each other. Bai You struggled to breathe in the gaps between kisses; the scorching air felt like a wildfire. The Omega also seemed affected by the Alpha’s pheromones; as his chin was tilted up, his lips parted unconsciously, and he briefly forgot to resist.
Rarely meeting no rejection and even experiencing a slight illusion of being welcomed—Fu Yu’s mood improved further.
Amidst the intertwining of cold and heat, Bai You surreptitiously and carefully searched every part of Fu Yu’s body.
No controller.
He began to withdraw his hand listlessly, only to have it pinned down.
Fu Yu’s eyes were tinged with red, faintly revealing the primitive animalistic nature of an Alpha. He curled his lips, catching Bai You’s hand where it rested at his waist. “It’s rare for you to be so proactive. Why are you pulling back?”
Caught in the act, Bai You froze in silence for several seconds. Unable to pull his hand away, he could only abandon himself to frustration. “Get lost.”
“You want the controller for the shackle?” Fu Yu leaned in relentlessly. “It’s not impossible.”
Bai You’s heart jumped.
“But you’re being very naughty right now, Brother.” He knew his brother had some little schemes going on in private. He spoke in a drawn-out, lazy tone, like a lover teasing his partner. “So, I’ll unlock it for you once you start being a bit more ‘good,’ okay?”
The intimacy and ambiguity in his tone made Bai You’s eyelids twitch wildly. He had absolutely no desire to contemplate what Fu Yu meant by “being good.” Forced into a corner, he suddenly pinched the soft flesh at Fu Yu’s waist with all his might.
Unprepared, Fu Yu was caught off guard. He lurched backward and stood there, stunned.
Bai You took the opportunity to rescue his hand. Pressing against the Alpha’s chest, he forcefully shoved him out of the room.
He said coldly, “Before I learn how to be ‘good,’ why don’t you get out and learn how to be ‘good’ first?”
The bedroom door slammed shut with a loud bang.
Fu Yu was nearly hit in the nose. He stared at the door in astonishment.
Wasn’t this his room?
Is this how an Omega behaves when they lose their temper?
Fu Yu thought back. In his presence, whether they were Alphas or Omegas, no one usually dared to lose their temper, so he truly didn’t know what it looked like.
How strange—the usually mild-mannered Bai You could actually get angry, and it looked like this.
“Actually quite cute,” he murmured to himself. His mental state, soothed by the pheromones, was excellent, and he didn’t feel angry at all as he leisurely walked downstairs.
Several subordinates were waiting in the hall. Having heard that his expression was terrifying before he went upstairs tonight, they were all anxious. When they saw him come down, they looked at each other in confusion.
Fu Yu didn’t hide anything. He sat down on the nearest armchair and said nonchalantly, “I’ve been kicked out of the room by my Omega. Pardon the embarrassment.”
The subordinates: “…” They didn’t dare to laugh.
But why do you look so proud of yourself?
