Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 71
Shen Wenshan did not hesitate and pulled the trigger.
But just then, Shen Jiayan rushed out and pushed Su Sui away.
At the same moment, the gun in Shen Wenshan’s hand fired its bullet, hitting Shen Jiayan directly in the left chest.
Shen Jiayan fell to the ground, right in front of Su Sui.
The clothes on her chest instantly turned bright red, dazzlingly vibrant.
“Jiayan!”
Su Sui, terrified, rushed over, knelt beside Shen Jiayan, and tremblingly placed her hand under Shen Jiayan’s nose. Only when she felt a faint breath did the heart she held in her chest slowly relax.
“Jiayan, how are you? Jiayan?”
Just as all her attention was focused on Shen Jiayan, Shen Wenshan raised the gun toward her again.
And this time, Gao Wei shouted, “Sister Su Su! Be careful!”
Su Sui’s mind went blank for a brief moment.
The bullet whistled past, piercing Gao Wei’s shoulder blade, and blood instantly splattered onto her face, the fishy, sweet scent of blood assaulting Su Sui’s reason.
She looked at the two people lying on the ground.
She couldn’t understand; she had clearly come out to buy them time to escape. Why wouldn’t these two fools run?! If they wouldn’t run, they should have hidden! Why did they come out to take a bullet for her?!
Everything happened too fast, and Su Sui didn’t have time to think about more. She only knew that she absolutely would not allow anyone to die in front of her.
Her eyes instantly turned crimson, like a bloodthirsty wolf. She stood up and pounced on Shen Wenshan recklessly.
Shen Wenshan pulled the trigger again towards her, but this time, there were no more bullets in the chamber. He could only watch as his daughter, like a crazed beast, tackled him to the ground. She then picked up an iron rod from the ground and began smashing it onto his head.
Shen Wenshan’s forehead was struck by the iron rod, and blood gushed out. As he struggled to get up, Su Sui hit him again on the knee, then the elbow. Finally, no matter how hard he tried, he could not break free from her restraint.
Su Sui’s movements were vicious; almost every strike of the rod took away the last trace of strength from Shen Wenshan’s body. He lay on the ground, beaten into helplessness by the red-eyed Su Sui, entirely at her mercy.
Su Sui grabbed Shen Wenshan’s hair with one hand, pulling his head up, and held the blood- and metal-shaving-stained rod with the other, aiming it at his eye, “A scum like you doesn’t deserve such a comfortable death!!”
With that, she violently stabbed the iron rod into Shen Wenshan’s eyeball and then twisted it.
Shen Wenshan howled in agony, his entire face contorted and savage. But even so, he gritted his teeth and refused to beg for mercy. Instead, he used all his strength to kick Su Sui in the abdomen.
However, Su Sui seemed oblivious to the pain. She pulled the rod out and aimed it at Shen Wenshan’s other eye, preparing to stab.
Just then, a warm hand grabbed her ankle.
The weak Gao Wei said, “Sister Su Su, don’t continue. For someone like him, it’s really not worth sacrificing your entire life.”
Su Sui’s lips pressed into a tight line, her face tense, and she remained silent.
“Sister Su Su…” Seeing that Su Sui hadn’t let go, Gao Wei couldn’t help but cry out, “Do you want Sister Jiayan to spend her most beautiful years in solitude?”
Hearing Gao Wei’s words, Su Sui’s hand paused slightly. She turned to look at Shen Jiayan, who was lying on the ground and had already lost consciousness. She took a deep breath. She knew that if she continued, it would constitute excessive self-defense, and she would certainly be sentenced. If that happened, what about Shen Jiayan…?
A flicker of hesitation crossed Su Sui’s brow. However, based on her understanding of Shen Wenshan, such a person could never be given a chance to catch his breath; otherwise, the three of them would end up dead.
With this thought, Su Sui made her decision and raised the iron rod again.
Just as Shen Wenshan’s other eyeball was about to be gouged out by Su Sui, police sirens sounded outside the tower.
Hearing the sirens, Shen Wenshan smirked.
“What a pity,” his tone was full of regret. “In the end, you didn’t get your way. I’m still going to die comfortably.”
Shen Wenshan’s smile was utterly mocking. Su Sui, however, snorted coldly, kicked him to the ground, and raised the iron rod, preparing to strike.
At the same time, several SWAT officers appeared behind them. They rushed in and immediately restrained Su Sui.
As Shen Wenshan was dragged away, he turned back to glare venomously at Su Sui.
Shen Jiayan, Su Sui, and Gao Wei were quickly sent to different hospitals. Shen Jiayan and Gao Wei were more seriously injured and were urgently transferred.
Compared to them, Su Sui’s injuries were lighter: a few fractures and a gunshot wound through her shoulder. She could be discharged after resting in the hospital for half a month.
Initially, Su Sui had no news about Shen Jiayan at all. She couldn’t eat or sleep well. She even insisted on being discharged before her injuries were fully healed.
One day, while she was making a fuss, Fu Jing appeared in her hospital room carrying a food container. Su Sui noticed that the woman who once meticulously watched her appearance seemed to have aged a lot. Her plain face had no extra makeup, and there was a lot of white hair at her temples.
“Stop fussing,” Fu Jing said, then unceremoniously pushed Su Sui back onto the hospital bed and placed the thermos on the table, saying, “You’ve suffered such severe injuries; how can you recover without resting for a few days?”
Su Sui’s gaze paused on Fu Jing’s neck for a moment before moving away. “I’m fine.”
Fu Jing sighed, sat in a chair, and said, “I know you’re worried about her, and I am too.” She then scooped some soup from the thermos and offered it to Su Sui’s lips, “Bone broth, you must drink it while it’s hot.”
Under Fu Jing’s careful attention, Su Sui’s injuries healed quickly. Su Sui learned from her that the bullet that hit Shen Jiayan would have been fatal if it had missed her heart by even one centimeter, killing her instantly. Shen Jiayan was sent to the intensive care unit after surgery and was still unconscious in the hospital.
As for Gao Wei, due to leukemia compounded by massive blood loss, she would have died from excessive bleeding if she had been delayed by just a few more minutes. Because of this, the hospital issued five critical condition notices to Fu Jing. From initial disbelief to later numbness, Fu Jing couldn’t figure out how she got through that period.
At first, she hated Shen Jiayan and Su Sui. If it weren’t for them, her daughter wouldn’t have suffered such undeserved disaster. But then she remembered Gao Wei looking at her with those crescent-moon-like eyes and saying, “Sister Jiayan and Sister Su Su have been really good to me. You can’t hurt them anymore, Mom.” Her heart softened. Thinking carefully, she realized that it was her own excessive wrongdoing that caused her daughter to bear these evil consequences. Her son surrendered and went to prison, and her abandoned daughter suffered from leukemia.
However, the world is fair to everyone; as long as you put away the heart to do evil, it will treat you gently. Before going to prison, Shen Shihao voluntarily donated bone marrow to save his sister, Gao Wei. Gao Wei’s bone marrow transplant surgery was also successful. Although Gao Wei was still in the intensive care unit, she was out of life danger; it was only a matter of time before she woke up. During this time, she ran between three hospitals. Although she was exhausted, watching the three children gradually improve made her mood lift as well.
On this day, Su Sui was allowed to be discharged. Fu Jing arrived early to pick her up. But as soon as she entered, she saw that Su Sui had already packed her things and was waiting. Fu Jing guessed that if she hadn’t deliberately withheld the information about which hospital Shen Jiayan was in, this girl would have already run off.
“Have you got everything?” Fu Jing checked Su Sui’s hospital bed again with a worried look. Su Sui, with her arm in a cast, still had that cold demeanor. She nodded in response, “Yes.”
Fu Jing saw Su Sui’s attitude and couldn’t be bothered to argue with her; she really didn’t have the energy. She simply picked up the things and led Su Sui out of the room. She had originally planned to take Su Sui back to rest first, and then take her to see Shen Jiayan. But on second thought, she decided against it. So, she took her to the hospital where Shen Jiayan was.
Shen Jiayan had woken up and was moved from the intensive care unit to a regular ward. However, since the bullet had pierced her lung, she needed to wear an oxygen mask until she fully recovered.
When Su Sui entered to visit Shen Jiayan, she was lying on the hospital bed, looking weakly out the window. The sound of Su Sui pushing open the door startled Shen Jiayan. She slowly turned her head and looked toward the doorway. Their eyes met. A flicker of astonishment and joy crossed Shen Jiayan’s eyes. “Su Sui…” Her voice was very soft, but Su Sui could hear it clearly. She rushed over and tightly embraced the person still in the hospital bed. Fu Jing glanced at them, quietly stepped out, and stood guard outside the door.
From then on, Su Sui treated the hospital as her home. Except for going out every few days, she spent almost every day by Shen Jiayan’s side, personally feeding her soup and chatting with her. Watching Su Sui busy herself, Shen Jiayan felt a warmth in her heart.
A month later, Shen Jiayan was discharged after recovering. Shen Wenshan was brought to court by the police. Due to his special status and the extremely malicious nature of his crimes, the trial was broadcast on television. Su Sui and Shen Jiayan, as the victims, both stood in the witness box, quietly watching the judge’s verdict.
Shen Wenshan was sentenced to death and immediate execution on charges including attempted murder, armed robbery, causing serious injury to multiple people, organizing an evil organization, forcibly occupying land, and tax evasion.
As Shen Wenshan’s only surviving relative, Su Sui visited him the day before his execution. They sat opposite each other, separated by thick bulletproof glass. Shen Wenshan looked at Su Sui coldly. Su Sui looked back at him with equal indifference.
“You stinking girl! You actually conspired with outsiders to frame me and destroy my entire life!” Shen Wenshan pounded the table, making the chains rattle loudly. “I won’t let you go even as a ghost!”
Su Sui lowered her eyes, let out a cold laugh, and looked up at him, “I thought you weren’t afraid of death; it turns out you are scared too.” Her gaze was as if laced with poison, chilling to the bone.
“Shen Wenshan, I’m here to give you a gift today.” Saying this, she took out her phone, tapped to open a video, and placed it against the glass window. When Shen Wenshan saw the content of the video, he struggled to stand up from his chair, but no matter how strong he was, he could not break free from the restraints of the iron chair. He could only passively listen as Su Sui spoke.
“How is it? How does it feel to personally watch the person you love be buried together with your rival?” She paused, “Oh, and I erected tombstones for them. Of course, I used all your money.”
