Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 55
The two of them just lay there without doing anything, simply zoning out. They only stopped this quiet meditation session when the sun outside melted the snow that had accumulated on the windowsill the day before.
Shen Jiayan nestled in Su Sui’s arms, her back to her, watching the meltwater from the snow on the window frame slowly form into drops, finally falling onto the ground she couldn’t see due to gravity.
Her fingertips rubbed the bedsheet by the pillow, the slight friction sound seeming like someone whispering in her ear.
It sounded very comfortable.
This state reminded her of the stray cats Gao Wei had picked up.
They would always jump into her and Gao Wei’s laps when they sat in the courtyard sunbathing, clinging to them to have their fur stroked. At that time, she always thought those little fur balls were quite melodramatic; just being stroked the right way by humans made them close their eyes contentedly and purr.
However, now she somewhat understood the cats’ feelings it was the sense of security of being cherished and cared for.
But her sense of security carried a tinge of guilt.
Perhaps because she had taken one of the other person’s eyes, she felt a resistance to seeing Su Sui’s face, one eye covered by an eye patch.
Looking at it for too long made her chest ache.
Thinking too much would bring up the scene in the operating room, that cruel sight had almost become her nightmare.
Thinking of this, Shen Jiayan couldn’t help but shudder.
“What? Are you cold?” Su Sui said, pulling Shen Jiayan closer into her embrace.
Both were dressed very warmly, so they couldn’t feel anything.
She silently recited a heart clearing mantra, tapping a wooden fish to accumulate merit.
The chill that had just been dispelled surged out again like a fierce snake, trapping Shen Jiayan tightly within it.
She began to suspect Su Sui was doing it on purpose.
Knowing that she was holding her every moment, she suspected Su Sui was deliberately teasing her.
She turned around and gave Su Sui’s forehead a punitive kiss, very light and gentle, “Do you want to cook?”
Upon hearing this, Su Sui hugged her even tighter, as if she couldn’t get enough.
This time, the red bean gummy on the cake got completely stuck together.
This caused Shen Jiayan’s cheeks to flush. She pinched Su Sui’s face and said, “You did that on purpose.”
“It hurts,” Su Sui frowned, “Gently.”
Seeing her plea, Shen Jiayan let go.
After letting go, she noticed a red mark already on the other person’s cheek. She thought she hadn’t used much force, so why was it already red?
She didn’t expect the person who chants mantras and taps wooden fish to have such thin skin.
Shen Jiayan smiled, then slapped Su Sui’s leg, “Get up, aren’t you hungry?”
“Jiayan,” Su Sui grabbed her hand, signaling something with her eyes.
Even though Shen Jiayan had heard it many times, she still secretly sighed in her heart, So cute. So cute that she liked her so much.
So, she raised her arm high and pulled with a sudden force.
With a “smack,” her hand stung slightly.
Looking at Su Sui again, her face showed not a trace of pain, but a look of being utterly wronged, biting her lip with narrowed eyes.
So obedient.
Seeing her like this, Shen Jiayan couldn’t hold back any longer and pulled Su Sui up to start practicing with the wooden fish together.
Until the wooden fish was almost knocked apart.
Shen Jiayan’s heart was pounding in her chest. She looked at Su Sui’s delicate, sickly face, which now had a faint blush, her eyes sparkling with an unyielding gaze and an expression she refused to show.
She leaned in close to Su Sui’s ear and continued tapping the wooden fish, “Tell me, when I used the tickle feather to scratch your itch, were you very comfortable?”
Her voice was gentle and lingering, like a warm spring breeze blowing across Su Sui’s ear. Those words seemed to sprout countless tiny claws out of nowhere, stirring at the tip of her heart, tapping again and again.
She remembered how she had intentionally angered Shen Jiayan countless times, only to have Shen Jiayan use the tickle feather to scratch her itch for her.
That feeling, in her opinion, was the most wonderful thing in the world.
Even when she recalled it, the tropical rainforest would tremble involuntarily.
Su Sui replied, “Mm, it was extremely comfortable.” After saying that, she hooked her arms around Shen Jiayan’s neck and deepened the kiss.
However, that wonderful feeling had now been replaced by another.
Ever since the two of them had completely broken down their barriers, their relationship had become exceptionally compatible, especially in terms of culinary exchange.
Su Sui understood all of Shen Jiayan’s strange tastes, and Shen Jiayan could satisfy some of Su Sui’s almost peculiar requests.
It was as if the two of them were destined for each other.
It was snowing outside, but it didn’t affect the booming business of the hot pot restaurant at all.
The mouth watering aroma wafted through the streets and alleys, like a seductively dressed beauty standing outside the door, beckoning passersby, “Come eat, come eat!”
Shen Jiayan was lured in by this very scent. She loved spicy food and had a strong palate.
Having been abroad for over 3 months, all she ate was steak, pasta, and salad, essentially the same things over and over. By the time she was on the plane back to the country, besides thinking about what to say and do when she reunited with Su Sui, the rest of her mind was occupied with what to eat. Hot pot popped into her head instantly.
They had to wait another half an hour outside the restaurant before they could get a table.
The waiter led them to their seats, handed them the tablet for ordering, and then rushed off to the next table.
“Are you still cold?” Shen Jiayan looked at the menu and asked Su Sui sitting next to her.
Su Sui was frowning, teeth clenched as if enduring some emotion, and managed to squeeze out two words through her teeth, “Not cold.”
Shen Jiayan raised an eyebrow, turned on the hot pot, and increased the heat.
As the subtle “humming” sound started, Su Sui’s hands resting by her side suddenly tightened, and the strength in her waist instantly vanished. She leaned entirely against Shen Jiayan.
Shen Jiayan glanced sideways and saw that Su Sui, who usually didn’t like to cross her legs, was crossing her legs particularly tightly today.
A secret delight flashed in her heart. She swallowed and continued ordering.
Since Su Sui couldn’t eat spicy food, Shen Jiayan ordered a Yin Yang pot, which satisfied her own taste while also taking care of Su Sui truly killing two birds with one stone.
But in the time it took her to scribble on the tablet, Su Sui had almost ripped her down jacket.
Shen Jiayan finally looked up at Su Sui.
“Are you behaving now?”
“No…” Su Sui shook her head, sweat beading on her forehead, clearly in immense pain.
Such a stubborn mouth.
Shen Jiayan handed the tablet to the waiter and whispered, “Thank you.”
“Don’t, don’t tell anyone else ‘thank you,'” Su Sui leaned on her shoulder, took out the wooden fish from her bag, and continued tapping, saying each word brokenly.
Forget it, I’ll let you off this time.
Before her hand even pressed down, Su Sui cupped her face and kissed her.
“Mph!” Shen Jiayan was stunned, pushing Su Sui away, but only met with a deeper kiss.
This felt like playing a game; although their spot was somewhat secluded, it was still quite awkward, and she noticed people were glancing their way.
Su Sui’s movements quieted down.
Her lips pressed against Shen Jiayan’s ear, her breath spraying on her earlobe, making her whole body ache pleasantly.
“I’m cold, I give up,” Shen Jiayan whispered, simultaneously pressing a button. “You’re the chef tonight.”
Su Sui finally let out a long breath. She calmly sat up straight, tidying her slightly disheveled hair, as if the person who had been leaning over Shen Jiayan and kissing her moments ago had nothing to do with her.
She even reached out, picked up a glass of iced lemon juice, and took a few sips to moisten her dry lips.
Shen Jiayan looked up at the ceiling speechlessly. This person was indeed a lunatic; she really would do anything.
She herself was truly stupid for agreeing to a contest with this lunatic over whose skin was thicker!
Since she had lost the bet, she decided to try to make Su Sui go bankrupt eating.
Thinking this, Shen Jiayan asked the waiter for the tablet again and added several meat dishes.
Su Sui noticed her intention immediately but remained silent.
After the waiter left.
“I wonder if this restaurant will go out of business,” Su Sui remarked.
“Why?” Shen Jiayan fiddled with the plates on the table, “Do you want to open a hot pot restaurant?”
“To buy it out for you,” saying this, she took Shen Jiayan’s hand and laced their fingers together. “I promised you, whatever you want, I will get it for you.”
Shen Jiayan let out a light laugh, her eyes drifting upward. “The stars in the sky, go and pluck them.”
Su Sui pursed her lips. “Okay.”
Shen Jiayan: “Then please write an IOU first, so you don’t renege on the debt later.”
As soon as the words fell, Su Sui picked up the napkin on the table and began to write seriously. After finishing, she didn’t forget to rub her thumb on Shen Jiayan’s lip to get some lipstick and then pressed her thumbprint on the signature line.
She then stuffed it into Shen Jiayan’s hand. “Keep it safe. I’ll take you to pluck the stars tonight.”
Shen Jiayan looked at the white tissue in her palm, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Su Sui’s eyes were as warm as the spring sun. A strange feeling rose in Shen Jiayan’s heart; she was inexplicably looking forward to what kind of stars Su Sui would bring her.
The meal ended quickly amidst their idle chatter.
To call it idle chatter was less accurate than to say it was Shen Jiayan’s one-sided output while Su Sui gave perfunctory responses on the side.
Although she had promised Su Sui she wouldn’t visit Gao Wei these past few days, her heart was always worried about Gao Wei, so naturally, she steered the conversation toward her.
At first, Su Sui still had some patience and elaborated on the situation with the second round of radiation therapy. But after too many questions, Su Sui clearly became impatient and started being perfunctory.
Shen Jiayan noticed and quieted down.
After dinner, seeing that it was still early, Shen Jiayan suggested they watch a movie.
Su Sui didn’t refuse and took her to a private cinema, one with a private room.
Shen Jiayan sat down with the bucket of popcorn and Su Sui.
The movie Su Sui chose was called A Beautiful Mind.
Shen Jiayan remembered seeing short video explanations of it online, thinking it was about a mathematician with schizophrenia who was eventually healed by his wife’s love. It was generally a drama, a genre Shen Jiayan wasn’t interested in.
But to respect Su Sui, Shen Jiayan decided to watch it with her, as it was their first time going to the movies together as a couple.
The movie soon began.
The opening was exactly as Shen Jiayan had expected boring and dry. She couldn’t help but feel sleepy.
However, she dared not sleep.
Su Sui turned to look at her, then gently kissed her forehead, “Hang in there a little longer, we’ll be able to pluck the stars soon.”
“What?” Shen Jiayan was startled. “Pluck stars here? What stars?”
Su Sui stopped talking, instead reaching into Shen Jiayan’s pocket and pressing a switch. The faint humming sound started again.
