Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 50
This news kept Su Sui awake all night.
She thought of countless methods and excuses, none of which seemed capable of persuading Shen Jiayan to stay.
After all, in Shen Jiayan’s heart, the short-lived person at this moment was far more important than anything or anyone else.
After contemplating, Su Sui decided to knock on Gao Wei’s door while Shen Jiayan was asleep.
A wave of heat rushed towards her.
Gao Wei’s room was not air-conditioned and was quite warm. Yet, despite this, she was still wearing long sleeves and long pants.
“Not sleeping?” Su Sui asked her.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” Gao Wei replied, “Come in.”
Su Sui was slightly surprised, but only for a moment.
Having deliberately feigned illness today to disrupt her original plan, Gao Wei must have already known.
As for how she knew, it no longer mattered.
The door closed.
“Sit anywhere,” Gao Wei casually opened the small refrigerator next to the standing cabinet, and the cold air rushed out, making her shiver slightly. “Would you like something to drink?”
But then she thought it was unnecessary, given her special constitution. Normally, Shen Jiayan only allowed her to drink mineral water, and only water that had been boiled until it was bubbling.
As if drinking more hot water could cure leukemia.
Her fingertips just touched the bottle cap.
“No need,” Su Sui refused her. “Didn’t you say you were waiting for me?”
Gao Wei still took out a bottle of water from the fridge, closed the door, and started twisting the cap but didn’t manage to open it.
Walking up to Su Sui, she said, “I have something to ask you.” She paused again, “To be precise, I want to talk to you.”
Su Sui glanced at the water bottle Gao Wei was holding out, naturally took it, twisted it open with a ‘snap,’ and handed it back. But then she remembered Gao Wei’s physical condition made cold water unsuitable, so she took it back.
The mineral water bottle circled between them once before finally standing upright quietly on the table.
Gao Wei glanced at the transparent mineral water bottle, her mouth twitched a few times, and then continued, “Are you really planning to donate your cornea to Jiayan?”
But Su Sui didn’t seem at all surprised. How Gao Wei knew about this didn’t change her expression, and she didn’t even look in Gao Wei’s direction.
“The surgery is the day after tomorrow at 3 PM. I don’t care what method you use, but you must make Jiayan stay,” Su Sui said, then looked up at Gao Wei. “You caused this mess; you should clean it up.”
After speaking, Su Sui grabbed the water bottle and prepared to leave. On the way out, she even thought about telling the housekeepers to stop restocking water in this room’s fridge and just put it on the bar counter instead.
“I won’t let you do this. I will make Shen Jiayan return to the country tomorrow, no matter what.”
Gao Wei’s voice wasn’t loud, but Su Sui heard it clearly.
She took two steps in one, turned back, and returned to Gao Wei’s front. “What did you say? Say that again!”
The mineral water bottle was squeezed by her so hard that water started oozing out, dripping down the side of the bottle and soaking a large patch of the carpet.
In her memory, Gao Wei was afraid of her.
The kind of fear that made her eyes dart away nervously if Su Sui just glanced at her.
For someone like that, harsh methods weren’t even necessary; a few threats would do the trick.
But this tactic failed.
“Su Sui, do you really think that giving your eyes to Shen Jiayan will make her happy?”
Gao Wei looked at her without any fear.
Su Sui laughed.
She placed the water bottle on the table, shook the water off her fingertips, and said with disdain and sarcasm, “What, you think you understand her better than I do?”
“Not exactly,” Gao Wei took out a tissue from her pocket and offered it. “I just understand the word ‘love’ better than people like you.”
People like her?!
Su Sui frowned, deeply disliking the term. “Don’t assume that just because Shen Jiayan cares about you, I really won’t do anything to you.”
But the way Gao Wei looked at her was full of pity and sympathy.
Ignoring Su Sui’s threat, she calmly picked up the cold water bottle and drank the remaining water completely.
Finally, she provocatively turned the bottle upside down and stuck her tongue out at Su Sui. “You can’t threaten me.”
Her tone was indifferent but carried a chilling mockery. “You think giving the cornea to Shen Jiayan will make her grateful? Wrong. That kind of love will only be a burden to her.”
“It will only make her sink into self-reproach and never be able to pull herself out,” Gao Wei said slowly. “I think that kind of love should be called ‘shackles.'”
These words seemed to touch a fragile spot deep within Su Sui’s heart, instantly igniting her rage.
“The relationship between us is not something an ordinary person like you can understand,” she pushed Gao Wei slightly. “So, you can just shut up!”
Gao Wei sank back onto the sofa, covering her chest and coughing a few times. “Su Sui, I know better than you how much more freely she lives after breaking away from you and the Shen family. That is the life and state a normal person should have.”
“A normal person? A dying person dares to call herself normal?” Su Sui narrowed her eyes. “Oh, right, I forgot to inform you, I found a matching bone marrow donor for you.”
Gao Wei’s pupils contracted, and she murmured in a low voice, “…You really found bone marrow?”
Her throat choked up, as if she was about to cry, but she stubbornly held it back.
“Of course,” Su Sui smiled. “Since you understand love so well, I am very curious to see who you care about more: Jiayan or yourself. If you want to live, you should know what to do.”
Su Sui finished speaking and left.
Gao Wei collapsed onto the sofa, her eyes vacant, stunned for a long time. It was only when tears streamed down her face that she snapped back to reality.
Since falling ill, she had become accustomed to it and slowly accepted it.
She wasn’t afraid of death, truly not.
Facing Su Sui’s threat, she could be fearless and consider Shen Jiayan’s well-being without hesitation.
However, when faced with the hope of life, she began to hesitate…
“I…” Gao Wei was at a loss. “What should I do?”
The next morning at 10 AM.
Although the flight wasn’t until 6 PM, Shen Jiayan was already packing her luggage.
She glanced at Su Sui, who was still lying in bed refusing to get up, placed the neatly folded clothes into her suitcase, then quietly walked over and squatted by the edge of the bed, gazing at her silently.
When they went to sleep, she had deliberately pulled the curtains shut, making the room quite dim, which made it a little hard for her to see Su Sui’s features clearly.
But she knew that this woman must still be sleeping.
After all, she had exhausted her these past few days.
In Shen Jiayan’s memory, Su Sui was not someone who loved to sleep in.
Back in school, it was Shen Jiayan who always slept in late, causing the early-rising Su Sui to also be late sometimes.
The class teacher, seeing how close the two of them were, and considering Su Sui was a good student while she herself was not, simply made them desk mates.
Back then, Shen Jiayan had never seen Su Sui rest her head on her desk during class, or even during break times.
No matter how stuffy the weather was, how tedious the math class was, or how tiring physical education was.
Su Sui always looked at her book with full energy.
Today, however, was rare.
She watched Su Sui, whose cheek was resting against the pillow, curled up into a ball, breathing shallowly.
Her long eyelashes drooped, her cheeks were fair and radiant.
Her skin was so delicate it looked like it could yield water.
Her whole demeanor was unusually calm and peaceful, without any trace of the “crazy woman” persona.
Watching her, Shen Jiayan felt an indescribable emotion surge in her heart.
If the two of them hadn’t been switched back then, Yang Xinjie wouldn’t have died, and Su Sui, accompanied by her parents, would surely have lived a very happy life. She would have gone abroad to study, successfully inherited the family business to become the CEO of Shen Group, become a rising star in the real estate industry, and then live a simple, warm life with the person she loved…
“Mmm…” A faint mumble reached her ears, breaking Shen Jiayan’s train of thought.
“Su Sui…” she whispered softly.
As if hearing the voice, Su Sui opened her eyes and looked up, colliding directly with Shen Jiayan’s eyes.
The two met gaze.
Shen Jiayan blinked, smiled, leaned closer, and kissed her.
But if that were the case, wouldn’t I also lose Su Sui, lose my beloved…?
4 PM at the International Airport.
Due to a sudden thunderstorm, multiple flights were delayed or even canceled. The flight Shen Jiayan had purchased was on the cancellation list.
Consequently, passengers pushed their luggage of various sizes, crowding the customer service desk, babbling and asking questions.
Shen Jiayan couldn’t understand the words, but from the expressions and movements of these people, it wasn’t hard to tell they were very dissatisfied with the official response.
Some even raised their voices, cursing, seemingly about to resort to physical action.
Fortunately, security patrols arrived in time to prevent the disturbance.
But quite a few people still surrounded the service desk, asking questions incessantly.
Shen Jiayan found the noise bothersome, glanced around, found an empty metal seat, and sat down to wait for Su Sui and Gao Wei.
It was strange; she always felt like these two were hiding something from her.
Especially Gao Wei.
Her thoughts were usually easy to read, generally written on her face.
Today, however, she was constantly distracted, and her gaze was unusually complicated. Especially when looking at Su Sui, the look in her eyes was as if she wanted to bite and devour her.
And Su Sui, who was usually the most meticulous in handling matters, first refused to get out of bed, and then almost left all three of their passports in the taxi. The look she occasionally cast towards Gao Wei subtly carried a hint of threat.
Even stranger was that the two, who were clearly tense and confrontational, simultaneously announced they were going to the restroom when they entered the airport.
If they weren’t hiding something, it would be truly unbelievable.
Shen Jiayan glanced towards the restroom where they had gone but didn’t see them come out.
Since the plane certainly wasn’t flying today, she wasn’t in a rush, so she took out her phone to check the weather forecast.
But upon checking, she saw a week of continuous severe extreme weather. Instantly, her heart sank to the bottom. It was as if even Heaven was working against her.
To alleviate her depressed mood, Shen Jiayan sat there scrolling through short videos again. Whether it was the weather or the commotion caused by Su Sui and Gao Wei, even the videos from her favorite bloggers seemed bland now. She swiped her finger across the screen a few times before turning off the display and putting the phone back in her pocket.
She stood up, dragged her suitcase, and prepared to go see what these two were plotting in the restroom. Otherwise, why would they be in the restroom for over ten minutes without reappearing?
Meanwhile, Gao Wei and Su Sui were not in the restroom. Instead, they were standing in a deserted corner, staring at each other.
Outside the airport, thunder roared and lightning flashed. The frantic rain hammered against the glass behind them, splashing glittering water droplets. Lightning flickered across the dark sky, emitting a dazzling light, immediately followed by a loud clap of thunder.
The two stood still, gazing at each other for a long time.
Until Su Sui finally spoke first.
Her gaze was deep and chilling as she stared intensely at Gao Wei, whose lips were pursed into a thin line. “Gao Wei! You actually dared to threaten me!”
