My Wife, So Fierce! - Chapter 95
Shen Baiyi was probably just like her though they had only been apart for a few days, their level of clinginess had multiplied several times over. Every time Zheng Yao thought Shen Baiyi couldn’t get any more affectionate, she would soon discover that Shen Baiyi could indeed take it a step further.
However, Zheng Yao was gradually allowing this clinginess, even enjoying it.
After dinner, she couldn’t resist and even took the initiative to tease Shen Baiyi.
Once they had tasted intimacy, enduring abstinence every day became a torment.
A field parched for too long finally received nourishment, and that sense of fullness made Zheng Yao overlook concerns about depth or speed.
Shen Baiyi always seemed to get aroused quickly. Just a kiss, and when Zheng Yao reached down, she found the girl already soaked.
After their lovemaking, both were still full of energy. After bathing, Zheng Yao held Shen Baiyi in her arms, gently kneading her as she asked, “How was the check-up? Everything alright?”
“Yes,” Shen Baiyi shook her head.
After a moment’s thought, she added, “Someone fainted while waiting in line for a blood draw, but I didn’t. When she drew my blood, I didn’t even blink.”
Her tone and expression clearly showed she was waiting to be praised. Zheng Yao curved her lips into a smile, “Mm, you’re very brave. You’ve always had a lot of courage.”
“Then will you reward me, sister?” Shen Baiyi’s eyes sparkled.
“Reward?” Zheng Yao raised an eyebrow, “Seems like I owe you quite a few rewards already.”
Every time Shen Baiyi asked for a reward, she would get a verbal promise from Zheng Yao, but she never actually claimed anything.
“I’ll save them for later.”
Shen Baiyi’s eyes curved into crescents. It wasn’t her fault whenever she wanted something, all she had to do was act a little spoiled, and her sister would give in, leaving no need to cash in on any promises or rewards.
“Little one, you make it seem like I’m some kind of flaky woman who makes empty promises,” Zheng Yao said, half-amused and half-exasperated, reaching out to pinch her cheek again. “I’ve decided to give you a gift. Do you want it?”
“Yes!” Shen Baiyi answered without hesitation, her eyes already crinkling with joy. “I’ll love anything you give me, sister.”
Hearing this, Zheng Yao covered her mouth, “Don’t talk nonsense.”
Then she reminded her, “I gave you Yao Yao too, but I don’t see you liking her that much.”
And she even competed with Yao Yao for attention every day.
“I like her in my heart,” Shen Baiyi said without batting an eye, her tone firm and resolute. “I like her, but I keep it hidden inside, so you haven’t noticed.”
Zheng Yao’s hand inadvertently slid to her shoulder, caressing the smooth, fair curve, and she couldn’t resist kissing her again. “And what about liking me? Why can’t you hide that?”
Shen Baiyi fell silent instantly.
How could those two be compared?
Liking her sister and liking Yao Yao were entirely different. It was because she liked her sister that she came to like Yao Yao. Without her sister, how could she possibly like Yao Yao?
Her affection for her sister was so overwhelming that she couldn’t hide it even if she tried.
Of course, now she had no intention of hiding it anyway.
Holding her sister tighter, Shen Baiyi didn’t want to say too much, simply clinging to her, “I just like you, sister.”
Adopting a stance of playful stubbornness.
Zheng Yao chuckled softly and didn’t press the matter further. Between lovers, being too serious would only spoil the fun.
–
As for the National Day holiday, Zheng Yao decided to plan it out carefully.
After all, this was their first long holiday since getting together, they couldn’t just lie around at home every day. If they did, Zheng Yao suspected she and Shen Baiyi would end up tangled up in bed all day long.
That wouldn’t do. Being together wasn’t solely about that.
That was just seasoning in their relationship, but if seasoning became the main course, it would lose its charm.
“We went to the grasslands last time. How about going rafting this time?” She rarely traveled and had little experience, but rafting had seemed quite popular recently.
“Rafting is more fun in summer, sister. It’s starting to get cold now.” Shen Baiyi curved her lips into a smile. “Let’s go rafting next year, alright?”
“Fine.”
Zheng Yao nodded. Indeed, the weather was turning cooler, long sleeves were becoming necessary.
Suddenly, she realized something.
“It seems I haven’t prepared long sleeves or warm clothes for you yet.” She frowned in frustration. “I’ll take you shopping this afternoon.”
“I’m an adult. Preparing clothes is my own responsibility, you don’t need to do it for me.” As she spoke, Shen Baiyi wrapped her arms around Zheng Yao’s arm again. “But if sister is willing to accompany me shopping for clothes, that would be even better.”
Even though they’d end up going shopping together anyway, Zheng Yao felt inexplicably soothed by these words. She gazed at Shen Baiyi for a few seconds before concluding: “You’re quite the smooth talker.”
Always knowing just what sweet words would please her.
And she always fell for it every time she heard them, her heart swelled with delight.
“Your high school homeroom teacher told me you were a person of few words.” Here, she smiled meaningfully. “Don’t you think your teacher would be shocked to see how glib you’ve become?”
“Then I’d just say my sweet nothings are reserved exclusively for my girlfriend.”
But Shen Baiyi showed no trace of being intimidated by her words. Instead, Zheng Yao was the one who froze at this response.
Letting Shen Baiyi’s homeroom teacher learn that her identity had shifted from guardian to girlfriend?
Just the thought made her cheeks burn.
“Alright, let’s not bring this up again.” Zheng Yao made a shushing gesture. “I’ll take you shopping this afternoon.”
Shen Baiyi: “Okay.”
–
Zheng Yao hadn’t properly gone shopping in quite some time. She never expected to run into an acquaintance the moment she stepped out.
“Zheng Yao! I can’t believe it’s really you!” The woman’s face lit up with the joy of reunion. “I’d heard you lived around here, but we never crossed paths these years, I thought you’d moved away!”
Zheng Yao fell silent.
She spent her days working from home, surviving on instant noodles and takeout running into her would’ve been a miracle.
It was only then she suddenly realized: recently, she seemed to be constantly stepping out of her small bubble, beginning to reconnect with the outside world.
“Long time no see.”
She nodded politely.
“I’ve missed you since graduation, Zheng Yao. You’re even more beautiful now than in university.” Her gaze then fell on Shen Baiyi beside Zheng Yao, and she asked with a smile, “And who is this?”
Zheng Yao’s expression remained unchanged: “My girlfriend.”
The other woman’s face instantly stiffened.
“Ah?”
Seeing this, Shen Baiyi, who’d been holding back stepped forward: “I’m Baobao’s girlfriend. And you are, miss?”
Baobao?
Zheng Yao’s face flushed crimson.
What nonsense was Shen Baiyi spouting?
“She’s my university classmate.” Though inwardly screaming, Zheng Yao still politely offered an explanation.
“Oh, so you’re Bao Bao’s classmate.” Shen Baiyi nodded, then smiled innocently, “You must have been very close in university, right?”
The woman’s expression visibly stiffened.
If they had been close, they wouldn’t have lost contact for so long after graduation. But they had indeed known each other for a long time, having been classmates since high school.
“Zheng Yao, did you change your WeChat?” she quickly changed the subject, “I messaged you before but didn’t get a reply.”
“I didn’t change it.” Seeing her persist, Zheng Yao gradually lost patience, a hint of irritation coloring her brow. “I thought some things could be left unspoken between adults. You really don’t get it?”
The woman’s expression stiffened again.
Hearing her sister’s displeasure, Shen Baiyi’s gaze darkened, her expression turning cold. “Step aside, please. We’re shopping.”
“Zheng Yao, you’re not still holding a grudge over what happened years ago, are you?” Yan Ke said in disbelief, “It’s been so long. How can you still be resentful?”
Tch.
Zheng Yao’s eyes settled on Yan Ke. She had wanted to maintain some decorum, but why did she have to force her to tear off the mask? She hadn’t lost her temper in a long time, and in front of the current Shen Baiyi, she had been trying to uphold the image of a mature, steady older sister.
“Ah, are you getting defensive?” Zheng Yao reined in her temper. “Where do you get the nerve? You backstab someone and still expect them to forgive you?”
When someone throws away all shame, they’ve already won half the battle.
Zheng Yao didn’t lower her voice, and several people turned to look at them.
She looked at Yan Ke, who was dressed in formal attire, now bowing her head with a flushed face, suddenly becoming timid and submissive, and gave a faint, mocking smile. “I didn’t pursue the matter further and even greeted you politely that’s me being magnanimous. You shamelessly come here to question me, thinking I’m too cold toward you? That’s just you being shameless.”
“Zheng Yao, how can you say that to me?” As she spoke, her gaze fell on Shen Baiyi. “I never expected you to be a lesbian! We used to be so close it’s disgusting. Who knows if your resentment toward me now stems from love turned to hate?”
Zheng Yao’s face darkened completely.
The next second, Shen Baiyi released her hand and, before Zheng Yao could react, stepped forward and grabbed Yan Ke by the collar.
“Who did you call disgusting?” Shen Baiyi’s expression was icy. “Take a look at yourself in the mirror. Do you have some kind of delusion that everyone in the world is in love with you? Anyone who falls for you must be truly desperate, grabbing at anything they can get!”
With that, she shoved Yan Ke hard against the wall.
Her eyes then fell on the logo on Yan Ke’s chest, and she let out a cold laugh. “And someone like you is a teacher? As far as I know, being gay isn’t illegal, right? So, teacher, were you just publicly discriminating against us?”
Her back slammed against the wall, and Yan Ke, fuming, was about to retaliate when she was caught off guard by Shen Baiyi’s words. Instantly, she panicked.
In today’s society, there are certainly people who discriminate against homosexuality, but as a public-school teacher, if she were labeled with such a stigma, she would undoubtedly face serious consequences.
Moreover, she was currently in the process of securing a permanent position, and at this critical juncture, she couldn’t afford any mistakes.
“I was just, just joking earlier.” She spoke in a flustered rush, no longer bothering to argue with Zheng Yao, forcing herself to apologize despite the awkwardness. “Really sorry, Zheng Yao. I’ve always been careless with my words, I didn’t mean it like that.”
Zheng Yao couldn’t be bothered to respond and simply pulled Shen Baiyi away.
But clearly, the good mood for the day had already been ruined.
“Sister, didn’t you say that person was your university classmate?” Shen Baiyi’s face was dark with anger. “For a classmate to act like this, it’s a wonder you even bother with her.”
Zheng Yao looked embarrassed. “We had conflicts back then.”
She had thought that as adults, they would both know where to draw the line. Yet, after working for several years, her classmate still acted as though she had no sense was the school environment too sheltered?
Had it allowed this classmate to retain a childlike innocence, as if they were still students?
Did she think they were still in that era where saying “sorry” after a mistake meant they had to shake hands and make up?
