My Upperclassman Wants me to confess my feelings - Chapter 11
Chapter 11: Conflict
The left side of the private room was boisterous and lively, while the right side was quiet and still.
Xiaohan and Ningning had swept through enough food to feed eight people, leaving the plates clean as if a storm had passed.
With a sudden burp, Ningning quickly covered her mouth.
Leaning on her hand with a sigh, Xiaohan looked sideways at her and asked: “Have you eaten enough?”
Ningning gripped her chopsticks firmly: “No! Let’s order more!”
Looking at her like this, she was clearly forcing it; this was likely Ningning’s limit.
Xiaohan had originally wanted to order for four more people, but remembering Ningning’s stubbornness, she cut it in half: “I want two more portions. Do you want some too?”
“Two… two portions?” Ningning was so startled her chopsticks nearly flew out of her hand.
Right now, she probably couldn’t even stuff down one portion.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Ye Sisi at the table two rows over watching them with great interest. Ningning slapped the table and said: “I want two portions too.”
The table vibrated slightly, and the phone recording the gourmet food slipped and lay flat. Xiaohan, quite helpless, silently propped the phone up again.
In less than ten minutes, four standard set meals were served.
Bei Wenxin was a bit worried. After greeting the people at her table, she came over to them.
One look was enough for her to know what was going on: Ningning was pushing through, while Xiaohan was slowly drinking barley tea—it seemed that for Xiaohan, eating four more portions wouldn’t be a problem at all.
“The taste is okay, right?” Bei Wenxin didn’t ask further about whether they could finish.
Ningning’s anger hadn’t faded; she hummed: “It’s just so-so.”
Xiaohan spoke while eating: “I don’t really like this kind of flavor.”
Glancing at the dishes on the table, most were cold, which indeed wasn’t what Xiaohan preferred.
Bei Wenxin was about to say that if they didn’t like it they didn’t have to eat it, when Ye Sisi’s sneer came from behind her: “To be able to eat so much while not liking it—talk about your heart and mouth being in agreement!”
Already annoyed by Ye Sisi, Ningning turned around directly and asked with a spark of hostility: “Are you just looking for a fight!?”
The girl beside Ye Sisi immediately joined in: “Oh, look at that! Who exactly is looking for a fight here!”
She looked around. Sun Wenze and Fan Jia were both absent, and the others weren’t familiar with Ningning or Xiaohan. Her arrogance grew even bolder: “Today is Vice President Sun’s birthday. It’s one thing for you to occupy a whole table alone, but to eat eight portions and then say it’s not delicious! Isn’t that ‘picking up the bowl to eat the meat and putting down the chopsticks to curse”
Xiaohan spoke up to interrupt her: “I didn’t say it wasn’t delicious! I said I don’t really like the taste of Japanese food!”
“Is there a difference? Didn’t you know this is what we were eating before you came?” The girl joining in became even more aggressive, her eyes full of disdain.
Ye Sisi pulled her back and said in a low voice: “Xiaoyue, Xiaohan probably didn’t know Japanese food was like this before.”
The voice wasn’t loud, but it was just enough for everyone to hear.
Wu Yue froze for a moment, then let out a sneer. She looked at Xiaohan and said sarcastically: “So you’re from the countryside; you haven’t even eaten Japanese food before!”
Seeing them acting in harmony like this, Ningning was about to explode with rage. She was about to rush over: “So what if we haven’t! There are plenty of people in the world who haven’t!”
Bei Wenxin held her back tightly, turning to Ye Sisi and Wu Yue: “Today is Senior’s birthday. Why are you intentionally picking a fight?”
“Junior’s words are incorrect.” Ye Sisi pressed down on Wu Yue, who was about to speak, and stepped forward herself. “We aren’t picking a fight; we just can’t stand your behavior of eating for free while being so picky.”
Just like the interview last time, Ye Sisi was doing this on purpose.
So many people behind them were pretending not to see, including the two seniors they had been chatting happily with just now. Bei Wenxin suddenly felt that they shouldn’t have come.
“What? Nothing to say?” Wu Yue raised her chin triumphantly, looking down on Bei Wenxin and the others.
One of Sun Wenze’s friends couldn’t help but step forward to mediate: “Sisi, they just said it casually. Don’t take it to heart.”
Ye Sisi glanced at the door; Sun Wenze and the others should be back soon. She decided to stop there.
But Xiaohan suddenly stepped forward a few paces, grabbed Ye Sisi’s hand, and said: “You are intentionally trying to provoke Ningning.”
The others were startled and were about to step forward when Ningning suddenly rushed up, pointing and shouting at the few people trying to come over: “You really are all on Ye Sisi’s side!”
Before they could speak, Ningning planted her feet and blocked them: “If anyone dares to come over, I’ll scream harassment!”
Everyone from the Student Union: “…”
“You… let go of me.” Ye Sisi didn’t expect Xiaohan to suddenly grab her. She couldn’t help but feel a bit panicked and said excitedly: “Hitting people is against the law!”
Xiaohan looked at her strangely: “Who is going to hit you?”
Without giving Ye Sisi a chance to speak, Xiaohan added: “I don’t hit people. I’m only holding you because I’m afraid you’ll run away. It’s better to clear some things up.”
“I have a rural household registration, and I live in Jiang City now. I haven’t eaten Japanese food before; this is my first time, and I don’t really like it. I ate so much because I was hungry and didn’t want to waste food.”
“Also! You can’t stand us and want to belittle us just like during the Student Union interview last time.”
Ye Sisi’s expression changed: “What interview! Don’t talk nonsense!”
Xiaohan glanced at the two tables of people and pointed to three individuals: “I have a very good memory. They were all there that day.”
The three people pointed at immediately and pretended to look elsewhere.
At this moment, Ye Sisi’s face gradually turned pale. While Xiaohan was still explaining seriously, she secretly pushed hard against Xiaohan’s stomach.
Xiaohan blocked her with a hand and looked at her: “Why did you push me?”
The air froze for a moment. Zhou Weiwei, hiding behind the crowd, was secretly happy.
Ye Sisi had finally hit a steel plate again.
It turned out Xiaohan was a steel plate in the physical sense too!
Wu Yue saw things were going wrong and subconsciously grabbed a samurai sword from beside her. She struggled to raise it and swung it over: “Let go of Sisi!”
The person in the very front was Ningning. Bei Wenxin quickly stepped forward to pull her: “Watch out!”
Xiaohan hurriedly let go, pulling Ningning with one hand and Bei Wenxin with the other.
As the samurai sword slammed heavily onto the floor, several cracks instantly appeared in the wooden boards.
With a bang, the private room door was opened. Sun Wenze and Cheng Wu appeared at the entrance.
The current situation was that Xiaohan was protecting the other two, looking at the tip of the samurai sword on the floor with lingering fear.
Memories from her childhood came rushing back like a tide. Xiaohan’s lips turned deathly pale instantly, and large beads of sweat broke out on her forehead.
That tall, irresistible figure loomed over her heart like a nightmare.
Xiaohan suddenly let go, crouched down with her head in her hands, and cried out with a sob: “Don’t hit me! Don’t hit me!”
Xiaohan is…
Without any hesitation, Cheng Wu, wearing slender high heels, moved extremely fast to reach Xiaohan. She knelt down and embraced the thin girl, gently patting her back and soothing her softly: “It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m right here with you!”
Surrounded by warmth and smelling the familiar scent of rosemary, Xiaohan’s heart instantly settled. She slowly raised her teary eyes, and in an instant, the tears cascaded: “Senior!”
Xiaohan reached out and hugged Cheng Wu tightly, refusing to let go.
Sun Wenze finally realized what was happening and questioned Wu Yue coldly: “What were you doing just now!”
With a thud, the samurai sword fell to the floor. Wu Yue quickly grabbed Ye Sisi’s hand: “Sisi, help me explain! It was Xiaohan who wouldn’t let go of you. I just got worked up and took the…”
Looking at the cracks on the floor, Wu Yue added: “I didn’t want to hit anyone; I just wanted Xiaohan to let go.”
Sun Wenze looked at Xiaohan and felt the veins on his forehead throbbing. He questioned Ye Sisi with great annoyance: “You tell me! What exactly happened!”
“It was just a misunderstanding. This time Xiaohan did start it; everyone can testify to that.” Ye Sisi’s first reaction was to shirk responsibility.
Ningning’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t help but point at Ye Sisi’s nose and curse: “Have you no shame! Who was it that started insulting us first!”
She turned to look at Sun Wenze and let out two dry laughs: “People are feeling bad for you, Young Master Sun! Saying we eat too much and are picky! You think we wanted to come? If it wasn’t because you wanted to pursue Wenxin, how could Xiaohan and I be here!”
Suddenly mentioned, Bei Wenxin’s expression stiffened. She felt increasingly regretful; she really shouldn’t have come, and she nearly involved Xiaohan.
“Sisi, you speak. I’m listening, okay?” Sun Wenze was exhausted. In the future, he must never involve others when chasing girls.
Hearing Sun Wenze’s tone, Ye Sisi felt a bit more at ease. In a few sentences, she went over the events, stripping herself and Wu Yue clean.
“In the end, it was all a misunderstanding. Wu Yue just got a bit too excited.” Fan Jia’s voice suddenly came from the doorway.
Sun Wenze quickly pulled him in, asking where he had been and why he couldn’t be found.
The others also hurried over to echo the inquiry, seemingly wanting to let the matter drop.
Ye Sisi softly comforted Wu Yue, but the corner of her eye was fixed on the two people surrounded by the crowd over there.
After the explanations were finished, Fan Jia suddenly spoke: “This matter must be cleared up.”
At the same time, Cheng Wu helped Xiaohan stand up. She turned to look at Fan Jia and said meaningfully: “Yes, it must be cleared up.”
Fan Jia frowned slightly. Did Cheng Wu want to pursue this?
After thinking for a moment, he organized his words: “A-Wu.”
“Please call me by my name. Minister Fan and I are not that close.” Cheng Wu corrected him without the slightest bit of politeness.
Fan Jia took two deep breaths and nodded: “Fine, Cheng Wu.”
He looked at Xiaohan, who had already calmed down, and asked with concern: “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” Xiaohan leaned close to Cheng Wu, not afraid at all in her heart.
Fan Jia’s confidence grew: “As long as you’re okay, that’s good. It was indeed Wu Yue’s fault this time; she shouldn’t have picked up the prop. Ye Sisi is also at fault; she didn’t stop her in time.”
Glancing at the other people, Fan Jia continued: “Everyone present is even more responsible. Knowing there was a misunderstanding, you didn’t help explain in a timely manner.”
Xiaohan looked at him and shook her head: “It was Ye Sisi who first started mocking us. It wasn’t a misunderstanding; it was a conflict.”
Fan Jia was displeased, but before he could speak, he was interrupted by Cheng Wu raising her hand.
Cheng Wu’s expression was extremely cold: “Fan Jia, do you want everyone to share Ye Sisi’s fault? That way, since Xiaohan is fine, ‘the law won’t punish the masses’?”
“Only the people here know the specific details of what happened,” Fan Jia replied calmly.
Cheng Wu’s smile gradually widened: “Are you sure?”
An ominous feeling welled up in his heart. Ye Sisi suddenly noticed that on the table behind Xiaohan, a phone was standing upright.
The angle was slightly tilted, but one could still clearly see the timer of the video recording jumping!
