My Omega Rival in Love [Interstellar] - Chapter 53
When Gu Jin woke up, she was still in the same room. Nine Colors was nowhere to be seen. The empty, stark white room made it easy to lose track of time and even a sense of one’s own existence; if one stayed here long enough, a mental breakdown would likely be inevitable.
Closing her eyes, Gu Jin did not know what Nine Colors’ true intentions were, but she knew her current situation was completely passive. Other than the fact that her body was slowly recovering, she had absolutely no leverage.
Just as Gu Jin woke up, the wall that presumably functioned as a door opened from the middle. Nine Colors walked in carrying a bowl of porridge and a few side dishes. It was evident that they had researched Gu Jin as a prisoner, to the extent that they had even investigated her food preferences.
Opening her eyes, Gu Jin took the opportunity to glance outside. Unfortunately, even beyond the doorway, there was only the same expanse of white; nothing could be seen.
“You really can sleep. It is already the morning of the second day. If your vital signs were not still showing that you are alive, I would have truly thought you were dead.” As Nine Colors spoke, a small table automatically rose in front of Gu Jin. Placing the food on the table, Nine Colors sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Gu Jin with a smile, acting as if nothing had happened the previous day.
“If you have a purpose, just say it. I do not want to play guessing games with you; it is a waste of time.” Glancing at the food, Gu Jin did not move. Given her constitution, not eating for three or four days would have no effect other than some hunger pangs.
Seeing that Gu Jin remained unmoved, the smile on Nine Colors’ face was replaced by a look of desolation. “Oh, but I cooked this myself. How could you not eat it?”
“Brother, please do not scare me. What on earth are you trying to do? Am I suffering from amnesia, or have you turned the page so thoroughly?” Watching Nine Colors with horror, Gu Jin felt that the world was truly magical. If she remembered correctly, the last time they met before she fell asleep, it had ended on a bad note. Absolutely bad, right? So what was this charade?
“If I said it was love at first sight, would you believe me?” Propping her chin on her hand and looking at Gu Jin, Nine Colors’ alluring eyes held an innocence and purity that were difficult to distinguish from reality. It was as sincere as if it were true.
“I believe it…” Gu Jin nodded. “I believe you want to run me through with a sword. Love at first sight? Do you have an acting addiction or something?” Not believing a single word Nine Colors said, Gu Jin found it impossible to read her. Her purpose was completely unclear, her behavior was confusing, and her origins were unknown. The whole person was a giant manifestation of mystery, which made Gu Jin particularly irritable.
Seeing that Gu Jin was completely unresponsive to her charms, Nine Colors dropped her facade. A coldness appeared on her beautiful, stunning face. The next second, Gu Jin felt her hair stand on end as a sword with ancient golden patterns, emitting a cold glint, was pressed against her throat at incredible speed.
Gu Jin: …No, really? You turn hostile this quickly?
Blinking, Gu Jin looked at the sword at her throat. Honestly, based on her observations, the sharpness of this sword was enough to cut through the skin and arteries of her super S-class physique within 0.01 seconds, and then slice through her cervical vertebrae in the next 0.01 seconds.
“Uh… actually, we could negotiate this further, don’t you think?” A great person knows when to bend and when to stretch. Gu Jin felt it was better to be a sensible person now; otherwise, who knew if Nine Colors would turn hostile again and turn her into space debris? After all, in her current state, she might not even be able to beat Gu Nuan.
“I want you to marry me. How about that? Can we negotiate this?” Nine Colors pressed the sword closer to Gu Jin’s neck, and Gu Jin could clearly feel the chill radiating from the blade.
“That is impossible.” Frowning, Gu Jin rejected her firmly. A person had to have principles; she could not agree to anything just because someone held a blade to her throat. “I am certain you do not like me, so why force it? Besides, I am already someone with a wife and child. We are not compatible.”
“Then I will kill you.” With her crimson lips hooked into a distinct arc, Nine Colors spoke of the matter as if it were as simple as eating or drinking.
Gu Jin: …
“By the way, did you not say that little cutie is not your romantic partner? And that person does not like you at all? Could it be that you already have a wife and child, yet are still flirting around? Then I must kill you even more to rid the world of a pest.” With an unchanging expression, Nine Colors pushed the sword forward by another fraction, and a not-so-small cut appeared on Gu Jin’s neck.
“Tsk.” With a light click of her tongue, Gu Jin felt the pain at her throat and frowned. “We are not romantic partners, but we are about to become a legally married couple. She is pregnant with my child. Do you understand now?”
“Are you lying to me?” Pulling the sword back slightly, Nine Colors looked at Gu Jin with dangerous eyes.
“You are allowed to tell countless lies, but I cannot withhold part of the facts?” Looking at Nine Colors with amusement, Gu Jin crossed her arms and leaned back. The scratch on her neck deepened slightly. Nine Colors looked a bit panicked and pulled the sword away further, but Gu Jin did not seem to notice at all.
Seeing that Gu Jin was no longer threatened, Nine Colors’ expression darkened, and she put the sword away. “Gu Jin, with this attitude of yours, how have you survived until now?”
“Thick-skinned, and loved by everyone, I suppose.” Especially thick-skinned. Watching Nine Colors put the sword away with satisfaction, Gu Jin’s expression also relaxed.
Actually, she had been startled at first. But after testing the waters a few times, Gu Jin realized that Nine Colors could not kill her. Although she could not explain why she was so certain, she had not felt a real threat from Nine Colors since the beginning. She would attribute it to intuition.
Upon hearing Gu Jin’s answer, Nine Colors did not find it speechless, but instead nodded in agreement. “Indeed, the only princess of the Weize Empire, a walking golden nugget. You certainly have the capital to be reckless.”
“Yo, you know who I am? So what is your plan? Are you planning to act as a pirate and hold me for ransom, then take me to ask my brother for a golden nugget?” Gu Jin did not entirely agree with Nine Colors’ words; she had not reached her current position solely because of her princess title, though she did not care to argue about it.
But in another sense, Gu Jin had stumbled upon the truth.
“I am planning to trade you for a Marshal’s wife position. How does that sound?”
“Oh my, so after all that, you want to marry my father? Actually, I have no objections. My father is over a hundred years old, but he maintains himself well; he still looks like he is in his twenties, so you would not be at a loss. If you let me go back, I can discuss it with my father, okay?”
The unfilial Gu Jin sold her father without a second thought, successfully causing Nine Colors, who had been maintaining her composure, to lose her temper. Her beautiful face was filled with fury as she slammed the table. “Are you looking for death?”
“My father is a Marshal, and I am a Young Marshal. So what is the problem here?”
Pretending not to understand, Gu Jin spread her hands with an innocent look on her face. Only after Nine Colors swept the food off the table and left in a rage did Gu Jin set aside her provocative expression, her eyes filled with deep thought.
“Found it!” A joyful cheer erupted from the Rota Star armament base. He Yu’s eyes were bloodshot. Beside her, Gu Jing, Gu Yin, and Gu Nuan looked at the red dot on the screen with extreme excitement.
Early that morning, He Yu had emerged from the lab, saying she had prepared the detection equipment. Time was tight, so she could not make a very precise instrument, and the detection range was limited.
Everyone had assumed they would have to search for days to get results, but they had not expected that the Grim Reaper was still in the star system belonging to Rota Star and had not gone far at all!
Finding the Grim Reaper so quickly was a great encouragement to everyone. According to the detection results, the Grim Reaper was currently docked in that location and had not moved, which was another piece of good news.
Gu Jing waved a hand, and the entire conference room dimmed. Holographic projections of planets of all sizes filled the room. Gu Jing reached out and magnified the location identified by the detector for everyone to see. “No wonder our patrol teams did not discover it while they were under our noses. They chose a desolate planet to dock, and even set up protective measures.”
“Fortunately, we have Professor He. Now that the location is determined, should we formulate an operational plan?” Smiling at He Yu, Gu Yin tapped the table and added, “The problem now is that we cannot defeat that person named Nine Colors at all.”
Having seen her defeat six guards in medium-sized mechs while wearing only a small-sized mech, they did not dare to be careless. Her level had to be at least an S+ grade Alpha. After all, she was the head of the number one pirate group in the galaxy.
“What if you add me?” Gu Ling’s voice came from outside the door. Everyone looked in the direction of the sound to see Gu Ling walking in with bold strides in a black combat suit. She looked at them with a solemn expression, followed by Gu Nuan, who was bouncing along behind her.
Gu Yin was pouring a cup of tea, and while drinking it, she glanced at Gu Ling. “Add you? Maybe we could have one more piece of space debris.”
The morale that had just risen because of Gu Ling’s arrival was instantly extinguished by Gu Yin’s words.
Gu Nuan was the first to glare at Gu Yin. “No wonder the Young Marshal never lets you talk too much when she is around. Think about it yourself; is what you said even human language?”
“Facts are always difficult for the weak to accept.” Gu Yin looked at Gu Nuan with pity.
Gu Nuan wanted to beat Gu Yin to death, but unfortunately, he could not beat her.
He Yu supported her head, feeling somewhat exhausted. Watching Gu Yin and Gu Nuan go back and forth, she inevitably thought of Gu Jin. In some aspects, Gu Yin was truly as annoying as Gu Jin.
Closing her eyes, the thoughts she had been trying to avoid surfaced uncontrollably again. She had not slept at all today, keeping herself in a state of rapid thinking to try and avoid thinking of Gu Jin, who was still in the hands of the pirates.
But now, she could not control herself. Her hand on the table slowly formed a fist, and her knuckles turned white. What exactly was happening to Gu Jin right now?
