My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 40
“I don’t want to hold a gun again. It’s heavy, and the gunpowder smell is awful.”
“I’ll make sure you never have to hold that gun again.”
Those words were quite sweet.
“And don’t go outside for a while. Don’t worry about Mackiv either.”
Eleanor couldn’t answer. She wouldn’t go outside for a while, but Mackiv still bothered her no matter how much she thought about it.
“Eleanor, what are you thinking about?”
Eleanor shook her head. Her mind was complicated. But no matter how much she thought about it, the situation didn’t seem to resolve itself. Eventually, she lay down on the bed.
Dreid lay down next to Eleanor, almost touching her. He immediately leaned towards Eleanor.
“Dreid, are you okay?”
His face, which was about to come closer for a kiss, paused. When Eleanor looked at him, he smiled and nodded.
“I’m okay because you worry about me enough. And the work is mostly finished, so there won’t be anything for a while.”
Dreid said that and then pressed his lips to Eleanor’s. The sound of a light smack was loud. Starting with that sound, Dreid’s tongue moistened Eleanor’s lips.
Even as Dreid was making her dizzy, Eleanor still felt uneasy. Now the Crown Prince’s threat was directly approaching. And the Mackiv matter wasn’t completely resolved either.
“Dreid, at that hotel…”
His lips fell away. Dreid slightly raised his head.
“Hotel?”
Dreid’s bright blue eyes shone particularly intensely. Eleanor nodded. He stared intently at Eleanor, then suddenly gave a beautiful eye smile.
A snickering sound leaked from his lips. When Eleanor looked at him questioningly, Dreid climbed completely on top of Eleanor’s body. He leaned down and whispered in Eleanor’s ear.
“Are you more curious about that than about me right now?”
As he said those words, Dreid lightly bit the tip of Eleanor’s ear. When Eleanor flinched, he buried his face in Eleanor’s shoulder. His breath directly touched her neck.
Eleanor barely pushed him away, but he grabbed Eleanor’s hand as it was and put each finger in his mouth. The feeling was strange as his lips softly touched her. Eleanor tried to pull her hand away, but Dreid chuckled and said,
“Nothing happened.”
Rather, Eleanor was more concerned because Dreid said it so lightly. But before she could think, his lips were frantically touching Eleanor’s lips. It seemed he was determined to distract Eleanor.

A few days ago, at the Raftin Hotel in Delfos, when Dreid couldn’t find Eleanor in that room, he called the manager. No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t just stand still. He needed to see with his own eyes again whether Eleanor was there.
“Open the door.”
But the hotel manager, quite concerned about security, cautiously said,
“Dreid-nim, I’m sorry, but this is a guest’s…”
“My wife is there. Is there a problem with me seeing my wife?”
The manager’s face hardened. Dreid looked at him with a strange smile.
“You should open the door if you don’t want to be fired right away, right?”
At those words, the hotel manager trembled and turned the key. Soon the door was completely opened.
“Good work.”
Dreid immediately gave him money. He hesitated for a moment, then carefully took the money.
“In the future, I hope you’ll act without me having to explain.”
“I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful.”
Dreid roughly nodded and went into the hotel room. The surroundings were quiet. Going inside, he saw a note on the table.
[To Eleanor-nim, I’m sorry. Something urgent came up. I’ll explain when I return next time. If I don’t return, you can go ahead. It would be even better if you worried about me.
And contact me anytime if you need me!
From Mackiv.]
Worry? Eleanor?
‘You trash bastard.’
Dreid cursed inwardly and tore up the note. Then he calmly looked around. Eleanor was definitely here.
And suddenly his head stopped. It was the wall. Next to it, Eleanor was dozing off while holding something. His scattered mind calmed down in an instant. He slowly approached Eleanor. She seemed to be in a deep sleep, breathing lightly.
Dreid carefully brushed her hair back. Listening to her faint breathing, he suddenly felt like kissing her.
‘Should I wake her?’
But right now, Eleanor was in a very deep sleep. Moreover, it wasn’t bad to see her sleeping like this. His gaze involuntarily went to her slightly lowered head, tilting slightly.
A smile unconsciously formed on his face. It seemed okay to just leave today. After all, there was plenty of time. Eventually, Dreid looked at Eleanor and slowly got up.
He took out the blanket that happened to be on the chair and covered Eleanor with it. And he looked around again. That’s when the device in Eleanor’s hand caught his eye.
Dreid chuckled when he saw it. It was a bugging device. The annoying sound from earlier seemed to be because of the device.
“This hotel is useless now.”
How could such a thing be heard so loudly? He would have to dispose of all the hotel shares soon. Anyway, now that the Crown Prince was about to die, there seemed to be no use in holding onto this hotel any longer. From the beginning, this hotel had become popular because it was where the Crown Prince mainly stayed before building his villa.
Dreid looked at Eleanor for a moment and then slowly got up.
He was curious about her expression tomorrow. Strangely, he was excited. How would she react when she saw him? With that, he left the hotel room.

When Eleanor opened her eyes, Dreid’s soft lips were brushing against her lips. He smiled, making eye contact with Eleanor. Her eyes were quite drawn to that face. Certainly, Dreid was a handsome man no matter when you looked at him.
When Eleanor just stared blankly, Dreid lightly said,
“Eleanor, don’t open the window for a while.”
“Why?”
“There’s a fire nearby, so smoky fumes will be coming in for a while.”
“A fire?”
Dreid nodded. The corners of his lips slightly turned up. It was a strange smile.
“Where did the fire break out?”
“It’s a building near the Crown Prince’s palace. They say it’s a building that’s particularly visible from the Crown Prince’s bedroom.”
Dreid said it as if it were nothing, but Eleanor somehow felt uneasy. She had heard rumors that all the buildings near the Crown Prince’s palace were empty. It was for the Crown Prince’s safety.
A sudden fire in a completely empty place. No matter how much she thought about it, it was strange.
While Eleanor was thinking questioningly, Dreid kissed her cheek, lightly stepped back, and stood up completely. Dreid was already fully dressed.
“Dreid, are you leaving early today?”
He nodded and sat on the bed.
“I have some work to finish. And as I said before, I’ve called someone to look after this mansion overall. They’ll probably be here around lunchtime.”
Eleanor didn’t say anything and just nodded. It was clear that the hectic work had been settled for the time being, but something felt uncomfortable. Was it because the Mackiv matter wasn’t fully resolved, or was it because the Crown Prince was still bothering her?
Dreid stepped away from the bed and said,
“Then I’ll be back.”
“Come back safely.”
When Eleanor said that, he smiled and nodded. Soon Dreid left the room.

Eleanor ate the breakfast that Dreid had prepared and headed to the study. She was blankly adjusting the magic sphere when she heard a knock on the study door.
“Eleanor-nim, are you there?”
It was a voice she had never heard before. Eleanor slowly got up from her seat and opened the door. When she opened the door, she made eye contact with the person in front of her. Her eyes flickered for a moment. But it was fleeting. She soon had a calm expression and looked at Eleanor.
“Who are you?”
“Ah, I’m Atrin, who will be in charge of various chores in this mansion this time.”
Atrin was a person with calm eyes. That emotion was well reflected on her face, but she didn’t seem to have a lively personality. Atrin seemed to be a bit older, and traces of time were faintly visible on her face.
Eleanor somehow missed Mrs. Beckade. But there was nothing she could do about it now. Eleanor barely stopped thinking and naturally asked,
“Are you the new person?”
“Yes, as Dreid-nim said, I’ve decided to look after this mansion until dinner time.”
“Do you do it all alone?”
“No. I’m the person in charge, and a few others will help. But Eleanor-nim doesn’t have to worry too much. Dreid-nim also said to make sure that Eleanor-nim doesn’t have to worry as much as possible, so we won’t cause any trouble to Eleanor-nim.”
It was a calm voice, but the tone was stiff. Eleanor nodded with an uneasy feeling.
“Then would you like to have lunch here? Please tell me whatever Eleanor-nim is comfortable with.”
Atrin spoke as if she was trying to follow Eleanor’s thoughts as much as possible. But Eleanor somehow felt uncomfortable with her. She felt uncomfortable even going downstairs.
“I’ll just eat here.”
“Then I’ll bring the food here right away.”
Atrin politely greeted and left the room. It was nice to have guests in the quiet mansion, but strangely, they didn’t feel welcome.
If it were Mrs. Beckade, she would have already said that the food was ready downstairs and taken her out of the study in a bright voice. She would have said that eating in a messy place would cause indigestion.
But now there was no such Mrs. Beckade. Eleanor sighed faintly and sat down. The magic sphere, still under repair, was still in its place.
‘Will it even work properly?’
She even had such thoughts now. But soon Eleanor dismissed those thoughts. If she stayed still here, she wouldn’t gain anything. She wanted to repair the magic sphere and find out about the surrounding rumors. Including the Mackiv matter.
