Clearly, Dreid wouldn’t like it if I talked about Mackiv.

When I mentioned Mackiv before, Dreid’s expression was fierce. It was as if he would pull out a gun if Mackiv were right in front of him.

“Come in.”

As Eleanor spoke, the door opened. Atrin came in carrying quite a generous amount of food. All of it was Eleanor’s favorite food. From pasta with apple decorations that stood out, to bread spread with apple jam. They were all her favorite foods, but somehow it felt burdensome.

“…This seems like too much.”

The amount was definitely too much. As Eleanor looked on with a troubled expression, Atrin finished moving the food onto the desk and said,

“Dreid-nim told me to prepare as lavish a meal as possible for Eleanor-nim. You can leave it if you’re full, but you still have to eat a little.”

Eleanor reluctantly picked up a fork. It was when Eleanor took a bite of the pasta. She still felt a gaze fixed on her. Eleanor turned her head. Atrin was watching Eleanor from a short distance away.

“Aren’t you leaving?”

When Eleanor asked, Atrin lowered her head and said,

“Dreid-nim told me to check in case Eleanor-nim doesn’t eat the food.”

“I’m eating the food now, so there’s no need to watch me so closely.”

Eleanor felt uneasy. She hoped that Atrin would catch on and leave if she said this much. But why was Dreid going this far?

‘Surely he knows I’ll eat well on my own.’

Eleanor said with a stiff face. But Atrin still didn’t leave the room. Eleanor opened her mouth, feeling frustrated.

“Didn’t you say earlier that you wouldn’t cause me any trouble? I think you’re causing me enough trouble right now.”

At those words, Atrin seemed to think for a moment, then lowered her head.

“I’m sorry, Eleanor-nim. Then I’ll come back up again in a little while.”

Atrin repeatedly bowed to Eleanor even as she left the room. Eleanor lost her appetite.

Even though Eleanor had only met Atrin for the first time today, she didn’t think she could like her. She already missed Mrs. Beckade. If only Mrs. Beckade was in this mansion, it would be lively.

“I hope you don’t watch me like that in the future. It was very unpleasant earlier.”

“I’ll talk to Dreid. So, I wish you wouldn’t use my husband as an excuse.”

Atrin hesitated for a moment, then raised her head. There was still no agitation on her face. Then the corners of her lips lifted slightly. Atrin seemed to be giving the biggest smile she could make on her calm face.

“I understand. Eleanor-nim. I will be careful not to cause any more trouble.”

In the end, Eleanor turned her gaze away from Atrin. And she started putting together the magic sphere that she had been working on earlier. Meanwhile, Atrin had finished loading all the food onto the trolley, said her greetings, and left the room.

As the room became quiet in an instant, Eleanor sighed. For some reason, she felt uncomfortable even though she was in the mansion.

‘Why did Dreid hire someone like that?’

She felt like she would have a lot to say when he came back today. Eleanor moved her hands diligently. The more complicated her thoughts were, the more comfortable she felt when she moved her body.

Eleanor quickly put the magic sphere together. As she put it together, lights gradually came on. She felt good because it seemed like she was going the right way. The unpleasant feeling she had while talking to Atrin earlier was somewhat relieved.

Eleanor bit her lip and looked at the garden. Just then, someone was walking from the garden. Even without looking closely, she could tell that it was Dreid. Eleanor immediately went downstairs.

The downstairs was cleaner than it had been in the morning. The floor seemed to be shining as if it had been thoroughly cleaned. She didn’t know when she was just in the study, but it seemed like the employees had been taking care of the housework quite diligently.

As Eleanor was looking around, Dreid opened the door and came in. He found Eleanor and smiled brightly.

“Eleanor, were you waiting for me?”

Eleanor turned her gaze to Dreid. He smiled and approached Eleanor as if something good had happened. As he approached, a good smell wafted over her for a moment.

“Dreid, I have something to say.”

“What do you have to say?”

Dreid came straight to Eleanor and wrapped his arms around her waist. Then he lightly kissed Eleanor on the cheek and met her gaze.

“Um, take your hands off my waist for a moment.”

It didn’t seem like a conversation would come out in this state. Eleanor gently touched his arm around her waist. He gently took his hands-off Eleanor’s waist. At that moment, a bright bouquet of flowers appeared in front of Eleanor’s eyes.

“Dreid…”

Seeing the flowers in full bloom in front of her eyes made her feel bright for a moment. As Eleanor looked on with surprised eyes, Dreid smiled and said,

“I bought flowers that I thought you would like. Do you like them?”

It was a bouquet of flowers with purple lisianthus and yellow daisies mixed beautifully. There were also a few lilies in the middle, and it was beautiful overall.

Eleanor smiled involuntarily.

“I’m glad.”

Dreid smiled brightly. As Eleanor received the bouquet from Dreid, he said,

“Eleanor, I’ll go upstairs for a moment. Wait a little.”

Dreid went straight upstairs. Eleanor put the bouquet in a vase in the center of the dining table. The scent was subtle and quite nice. The flowers were all bright colors, so they harmonized well. With the flowers, the dining table, which was only wide, looked bright.

Eleanor stared at the flowers for a long time. The subtle scent kept entering her nose. As she smelled the scent, she thought of Dreid.

He was consistent, but unlike usual, he seemed to be creating things that were subtly bothering her. The employee thing too…

Just then, a hand gently touched her waist. Eleanor looked up in surprise, and he, who had already come down, smiled and said as he pressed his body against Eleanor,

“Do you like it?”

His voice, which was heard up close, was subtly low. Eleanor nodded. Then she tried to take a step back from him. But he pulled Eleanor closer to him instead.

“Eleanor, what were you going to say earlier?”

Dreid’s arms wrapped around Eleanor’s waist. His low breath was felt around her neck. Even though it only touched her slightly, it was as hot as if she had been burned. He slowly kissed Eleanor’s neck. His gestures also became more and more explicit.

Eleanor paused for a moment. He seemed to be thinking of doing the deed here. His body, which was touching her, was quite hot, so she felt that way even more.

Eleanor took a breath and said slowly. For some reason, she didn’t think she could say what she wanted to say in this state.

“Dreid, in this state…”

At those words, Dreid lightly took his body away and looked at Eleanor. He frowned slightly.

“Eleanor, I’m sorry. I thought only about myself when you must be hungry.”

He went straight to the sink. When Eleanor followed, he lightly stopped Eleanor.

“I’ll do it.”

“Dreid, isn’t it hard if you do this every day? Those employees are only here until you come.”

“I’m okay. I feel like I’ve been neglecting you lately.”

“No. You’ve always been the same.”

“The same? I have to pay more attention because I made you misunderstand and doubt me so much.”

For some reason, Dreid’s words bothered her. He already knew. That Eleanor had misunderstood and doubted him.
