My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 39
Bullets were flying everywhere. Now, even the iron gate was open. Amidst all this, Dreid maintained a steady stance. Several bullets flew madly towards him. He twisted his body, lightly dodging the incoming bullets. As soon as there was a moment without bullets flying, he aimed his gun.
‘Bang!’ A bullet shot out. One of the people firing from across the way fell. Dreid used that as a starting point and leisurely aimed his gun. Each time he fired, his opponents fell one by one.
‘Has Dreid always been such a good shot?’
In the midst of all this, Eleanor felt like she was seeing a new side of Dreid. But before she could think about it deeply, the situation around them was getting worse. Bullets kept flying towards Dreid from who-knows-where.
Eleanor bit her lip. She felt useless in situations like this. All she could do now was report it to the Investigation Agency.
Eleanor picked up a nearby phone and quickly reported the incident. Then, she went upstairs. There was at least one gun in Eleanor’s office. She was too distracted earlier to even think about using it.
There was nowhere further to retreat in this situation. Either way, Eleanor wouldn’t be of any help outside. It seemed better to shoot anyone who might be a threat to Dreid from upstairs.
She had never properly held a gun before. She had only touched it once when Dreid left it here. At the time, Dreid had taught her how to shoot, but her memory was hazy now. But she couldn’t just stand still.
Eleanor opened the office door and searched under the bookshelf. Soon, a long, dusty gun appeared. Eleanor gripped the gun with a trembling heart.
The gun was quite heavy. Her memory was still hazy, but she tried to recall as much as she could from what Dreid had taught her. At least this gun was easy to load. Her hands were shaking, but she barely remembered how.
Still, some memory remained, and as she fiddled with it, she heard a click. Eleanor searched through the nearby drawers and took out the bullets.
Then, she carefully opened the window slightly and surveyed the surroundings. She could see Dreid shooting at the enemies right below. Already, many people had fallen around him. But there were still many enemies. More than anything, the garden was starting to become blurry again as fog kept rolling in from somewhere.
Eleanor scanned the garden. Then, a black flower caught her eye. On closer inspection, it seemed like white smoke was coming from the flower.
‘I thought it was a strange flower.’
She never expected the situation to turn out like this. But she couldn’t just stand there blankly, so she focused and pulled the trigger.
But it was just loud and didn’t hit anything. Eleanor shot again. Fortunately, this time the bullet hit accurately. Gaining confidence from that, she hit the remaining flowers as well. The fog was gradually thinning.
Eleanor hurriedly looked around below to find Dreid.
Just then, someone jumped out next to Dreid. Dreid didn’t seem to notice, as he was looking ahead and shooting. Eleanor gasped. The person was aiming the gun directly at Dreid.
She had managed to hit the flowers earlier, but this was the first time she was aiming at a person.
‘Please, let it hit.’
Eleanor aimed the gun and held her breath. Then, she pulled the trigger. A thick smell of gunpowder spread, and the recoil of the gun pushed Eleanor’s body back. Eleanor covered her nose with her sleeve and quickly looked down.
Dreid was unharmed. He was looking up at the upper floor. When their eyes met, he smiled. But that was only for a moment.
Then, another bullet flew towards Dreid. The bullet narrowly missed him. Dreid turned his gaze and reloaded his gun with a hardened expression. Immediately, a bullet flew out. The bullet he fired hit its mark. People fell powerlessly.
With the fog gone, the situation around them seemed to have improved somewhat. Eleanor calmed her heart a little. She had barely managed to hit a person.
But her heart was still pounding wildly. Barely ignoring her racing heart, she looked down below. The enemies were almost all gone. Once the number of people had decreased to some extent, Dreid pointed here and there, giving instructions to his subordinates.
Just then, a familiar carriage appeared, indicating that people from the Investigation Agency had arrived. Eleanor hurriedly went downstairs.
As Eleanor went outside, the Investigation Agency people surrounded Dreid. The Investigation Agency people looked around, recording something, and the atmosphere around them was unsettling. Dreid seemed to have noticed the atmosphere as well, as he was glaring at them as if he wanted to kill them.
Soon, someone got out of the stopped carriage. The person in charge of this case looked around with a displeased expression and walked over here. Soon, the people investigating the scene whispered something to him. He nodded and said to Dreid.
“Mr. Dreid, we need you to come with us for a while.”
Eleanor hurriedly ran to them and said.
“We’re the victims. I saw someone setting up black flowers in this garden. Those people must have orchestrated everything.”
When Eleanor said that, he smirked and replied in a languid voice.
“But according to our investigation, everyone here was working under Mr. Dreid’s orders.”
“What?”
As Eleanor looked at him in confusion, Dreid gently took Eleanor’s hand. He lowered his head and whispered, just loud enough for Eleanor to hear.
“Eleanor, I’ll be back from the Investigation Agency soon. It seems like the Crown Prince has made a move again.”
“Dreid, what’s going on? Were the people who attacked you earlier really your subordinates?”
Dreid smiled. It was even stranger that he was smiling in this situation. Eleanor’s mind was still full of questions. Then Dreid said.
“The Investigation Agency guys are all in cahoots with the Crown Prince. I’ll be back soon.”
Then, Dreid got into the carriage with the Investigation Agency people. Eleanor tried to follow, but the Investigation Agency people stopped her.
Dreid had a fairly composed expression. When his eyes met Eleanor’s, he immediately smiled. It seemed like this was nothing at all. Eleanor could only blankly watch Dreid get into the carriage and leave.
After the carriage left, Eleanor looked around. Dreid’s subordinates were still left behind, cleaning up the situation. Eleanor barely held her breath and glanced at the dead people. They all had a tattoo that looked like a bird’s footprint on their wrists.
A bird’s footprint tattoo.
Eleanor was staring intently at the tattoo when.
“Ms. Eleanor!”
Turning her head, someone was running towards Eleanor. As Eleanor looked at him in confusion, he hurriedly bowed his head and said.
“I’m Pael. I work as Mr. Dreid’s secretary. The situation isn’t good right now, so please go inside the mansion…”
“You work under Dreid?”
When Eleanor asked, he nodded.
“Then, can I see your wrist?”
Pael rolled up his sleeve and showed it to Eleanor. There was also something that looked like a bird’s footprint on his wrist. As Eleanor was surprised and didn’t say anything, Pael said in a worried voice.
“Ms. Eleanor, are you alright?”
Eleanor nodded and hurriedly went inside the mansion. Then, she quickly locked the door so that no one could come in.
‘What on earth is going on?’
Whether the Crown Prince was really behind this, as Dreid had said, or something unfavorable had happened to Dreid. Eleanor couldn’t figure out exactly what was going on.

It was late at night when Dreid came to the mansion. In the meantime, Eleanor had tried to go out to buy a new magic orb, but Dreid’s subordinates had stopped her. It was dangerous, they said. In the end, she couldn’t even find out anything.
Eleanor stared at Dreid as he opened the door and came in. He seemed puzzled that Eleanor was awake and asked.
“You weren’t asleep.”
“Dreid, what’s going on?”
As Eleanor got up from the bed and asked, Dreid came closer to Eleanor. He lowered his upper body and met Eleanor’s eyes.
He didn’t look tired at all. His black hair fell slightly over his forehead, but that also looked good on him in its own way. The corners of his lips were subtly raised.
“The Crown Prince is trying to screw me over in earnest. He deliberately caused this kind of incident at my mansion to spread bad rumors about me. For the time being, there will be some ridiculous rumors going around that I was betrayed or something, but there’s nothing to worry about.”
“Are you sure the Crown Prince is behind this?”
As Eleanor asked doubtfully, Dreid took out a document from his inside pocket.
“There were some guys who were still alive among the ones who fell earlier. It just so happened that there were rumors that the Crown Prince was messing around with strange potions, and he got caught this time.”
Dreid gave the document to Eleanor. Eleanor quickly received it and read it quickly.
It was a statement, and to summarize it roughly, someone said that they would give a lot of money if they drank a black potion, and after drinking the potion, their head became hazy. When they came to their senses, there was a bird’s footprint tattoo on their wrist, and they were holding a gun and collapsed. It was as if they were being controlled by someone.
“Then who gave them the black potion?”
As Eleanor asked, Dreid took off his shirt and said.
“That’s written at the bottom.”
Dreid said that and sat next to Eleanor. Eleanor scanned the writing at the bottom with a serious face. It said that when the person who drank the black potion was almost falling asleep, the person who gave them the black potion bowed their head, and a golden lion was seen on the clothes they were wearing between the black cloaks.
The golden lion was the symbol of the imperial family. That symbol was on the clothes that people who worked for the imperial family mainly wore. Then Dreid kissed Eleanor on the cheek.
“Dreid, then is this incident related to the Crown Prince?”
Dreid nodded. He had a faint smile on his face as if this wasn’t serious at all. As Eleanor looked at him doubtfully, Dreid said.
“You were a good shot earlier.”
As soon as she heard those words, Eleanor sighed.
