My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 35
“Then that matter…”
As Eleanor spoke in confusion, he looked at her with an even more puzzled expression.
“Eleanor, didn’t you already know?”
There was an air of ease on Dreid’s face. He took it for granted that Eleanor already knew the truth. Eleanor hesitated and said,
“I knew, but hearing it like this…”
She felt strange. In the end, it was Dreid who had interfered with the work. And he had done so because of the Crown Prince.
Perhaps Dreid had quietly interfered without telling her, fearing the Crown Prince might affect Eleanor too.
Eleanor fiddled with her hands. Then how did Zibed disappear so suddenly? Did he kill him?
Eleanor looked at Dreid with suspicious eyes. When their eyes met, he gave a faint smile.
“Eleanor, do you have any more questions for me?”
Dreid seemed to be enjoying the back-and-forth of asking and answering. Come to think of it, her questions about Dreid weren’t all resolved yet. No, the more time she spent with him, the more questions seemed to arise. Eleanor let out a faint sigh and asked,
“Then who was Zibed?”
At that, Dreid laughed.
“Eleanor, you’ve looked into that too?”
Dreid’s eyes sparkled as if he had seen something remarkable.
“I saw you with him.”
Eleanor’s face was somewhat stern, but Dreid smiled with an easygoing demeanor. He met Eleanor’s gaze for a moment before speaking slowly.
“Zibed was someone who did my work for me.”
“Then where is that person now?”
“He finished a certain amount of work and I paid him, but I don’t know where Zibed went either.”
Dreid said it nonchalantly.
When Eleanor had gone looking for him, Zibed seemed to have disappeared quite busily.
He had disappeared without even tidying up his place. Why did he leave in such a hurry? Dreid said he had paid him in full. Then there shouldn’t have been any need to rush.
The more she thought about it, the more it was a mystery.
“Eleanor, don’t you have any more questions?”
At his words, Eleanor remained suspicious. Dreid seemed to be answering all her questions, yet he left her with lingering doubts. Then, suddenly, she remembered what Pitty had told her.
All the shares of Finn Bank belonged to Dreid. If that was the case, then it was certainly true that Dreid was the Emperor’s illegitimate son.
Eleanor looked at Dreid. He seemed to be waiting for her to answer. No, he seemed to want her to voice more doubts.
Eleanor hesitated for a moment. But with Dreid looking at her with that expression, there was no reason to hesitate further. Above all, she wanted to let go of her deeper suspicions now.
“Dreid, you…”
However, for some reason, Eleanor found it difficult to speak with Dreid right in front of her.
Are you His Majesty the Emperor’s illegitimate son?
How could she ask that? She didn’t even like the phrasing. Eleanor’s brow furrowed involuntarily. It was a question that felt too sensitive to ask directly.
Eleanor glanced at Dreid. He seemed to be waiting for her to say the next thing. His sky-blue eyes sparkled with interest.
What if he gets hurt if I ask if he’s an illegitimate son?
The words wouldn’t come out for no reason. Especially when he looked at her with that gaze. In a way, it seemed like Dreid had his reasons for not saying it himself.
Being an illegitimate son wasn’t something to brag about. The word ‘illegitimate’ itself could be a wound for Dreid. Even if nobles treated him well, the person himself might feel that way.
After all, if Dreid owned all the shares of Finn Bank, then being the Emperor’s illegitimate son was ultimately true.
Eleanor was convinced the story was true without needing to ask Dreid. And even if he were the Emperor’s illegitimate son, there was nothing that could harm her.
“No. I don’t.”
In the end, Eleanor didn’t say it. Dreid looked at Eleanor with a curious expression and smiled. Eleanor smiled back in response.

When she arrived at the mansion, people with guns were standing around. There seemed to be many guards protecting the house, not just in front of the mansion but also within the garden.
“Dreid, who are these people?”
“You don’t need to worry about them. They’re people I hired because I thought you might be in danger. By the way, did you finish tidying up things at the agency?”
“Yes, though it’s a shame…”
At that moment, Dreid wrapped his arm around Eleanor’s waist. When Eleanor looked at him, he smiled faintly and lowered himself to her eye level. His sky-blue eyes sparkled with unusual vitality.
“It’s not like you’re quitting entirely. Your safety comes first. You did well.”
Hearing that, Eleanor couldn’t help but feel that things were proceeding as Dreid wanted. After all, he had indeed interfered with her work.
There were reasons, of course. Because the Crown Prince could affect Eleanor.
I wish he had told me beforehand…
But Dreid seemed to dislike her worrying too much. She had even decided to investigate what he had done herself.
At that moment, Dreid took Eleanor’s hand. Dreid was the same as ever. Eleanor found some comfort in that.
And since there was no harm in being cautious, Eleanor said, half-believing,
“…Is that so?”
As Eleanor spoke, Dreid smiled faintly and lowered his head. His breath touched her lips. He kissed her lips in one go. Eleanor wrapped her arms around his neck, then paused for a moment. She immediately pushed his shoulder.
Surprisingly, Dreid readily pulled back. His gaze lingered on Eleanor’s lips for a moment before moving to her eyes. Eleanor looked at him and said,
“There are people here.”
“People?”
Dreid immediately looked around. Then he burst into laughter.
“Eleanor, I told you not to worry about them.”
“Still, here…”
Of course, they didn’t seem to be paying attention, looking straight ahead. But Eleanor felt inexplicably embarrassed. At that moment, Dreid lightly kissed Eleanor. As Eleanor’s eyes widened, Dreid laughed and said,
“Eleanor, shall we go inside then?”
To the obvious question, Eleanor nodded. He smiled a strangely knowing smile and took her hand.
As soon as they entered the mansion, Dreid pushed Eleanor against the wall. She felt the cold wooden wall against her. When Eleanor lifted her head, he immediately kissed her.
Eleanor didn’t even have time to pull away. He kissed her as if he were starving. Eleanor was flustered, but she didn’t dislike it. As Eleanor naturally wrapped her arms around his neck, he positioned himself between her legs and gently bit her lips, his tongue delving deep.
He held Eleanor’s head to prevent it from hitting anything. The breath touching their lips grew hotter. Eleanor was out of breath. When Dreid slightly parted his lips, she managed to say,
“Dreid.”
Eleanor raised her gaze. His blue eyes were looking at her with a deep gaze. He was panting slightly. His breath could be felt directly on her lips.
“Did something happen today?”
This was the first time Dreid had rushed at her like this since returning from Delfos. He was always a man who calmly observed Eleanor’s reactions to get what he wanted. Since returning from Delfos, Dreid seemed to have changed subtly.
As Eleanor looked at him in confusion, the corner of his mouth rose. For a moment, Eleanor wondered if she was worrying for nothing.
“Nothing happened. I just liked seeing you.”
“You weren’t like this before.”
“So, you’re flustered?”
Dreid said this as he tucked Eleanor’s soft hair behind her ear. The fingers brushing past her ear felt unusually hot. As Eleanor flinched, his hand slowly touched her ear and then withdrew. Eleanor held her breath for a moment. His faint breath felt ticklish.
Eleanor slowly raised her gaze and looked at Dreid. He seemed to have been watching her the whole time, naturally meeting her gaze. As Eleanor blinked, he said,
“I’ve always wanted to do this to you. Whether outside or inside.”
Then Dreid embraced Eleanor. In an instant, she was trapped in his arms. Eleanor remained still for a moment before wrapping her arms around his back.
“Is it because of the Crown Prince?”
“……”
Dreid didn’t answer. However, it didn’t seem like it was because of the Crown Prince, as he had seemed unbothered until now. Then why…
“Eleanor, don’t go outside the house for a while. Stay inside.”
“Is it very dangerous?”
At that, Dreid let go of Eleanor’s shoulder and stepped back. He met Eleanor’s eyes.
“Thinking about it, the outside doesn’t seem very safe. Even this mansion could be dangerous.”
“Is that why you hired people to guard the mansion?”
Dreid nodded. He looked genuinely worried.
With Dreid worrying this much, Eleanor didn’t want to cause any trouble. Above all, he seemed a bit impatient, unlike before. Seeing his changed demeanor, there was clearly something going on.
“…I’ll stay at the mansion for a while. I’ve finished tidying up my work anyway, so I have no reason to go out.”
After saying that, Eleanor looked at Dreid and felt worried for him now.
“Are you really okay?”
“I’m okay because you’re worried about me.”
Dreid cupped Eleanor’s cheeks. She liked the warmth of his touch. Dreid smiled softly and lowered his hands.
“For a while, people who clean and do odd jobs at the mansion will come at scheduled times. I called them because Mrs. Beckade isn’t here. Is that alright?”
Eleanor nodded. She had been wondering how she would clean this vast mansion, so it was a relief.
Dreid smiled, seemingly satisfied with Eleanor’s reaction.
“Aren’t you hungry?”
She was indeed hungry after packing up her things at the agency. When Eleanor nodded, he smiled and said,
“I’ll make something for you right away.”
Then he turned and headed towards the kitchen.
