My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 31
A low, rumbling laugh was heard. Dreid slowly parted his lips. Eleanor stared at him blankly.
“Is it difficult?”
Dreid asked Eleanor leisurely. His voice was rough. Eleanor nodded. It was the first time he had kissed her so breathlessly. She couldn’t adapt.
‘Why is he acting like this?’
Eleanor exhaled a shallow breath and looked at Dreid. Dreid had always approached her leisurely. He hadn’t been this urgent.
Dreid touched Eleanor’s cheek and said.
“What will you do if it’s already difficult?”
He said it with a smile, but Eleanor somehow felt he was angry. Looking at his strangely subdued blue eyes made her feel that way.
As Eleanor looked into his eyes, his fingers were now touching Eleanor’s legs.
It seemed he was touching her deliberately softly, as if trying to calm his anger. Eleanor had never seen Dreid angry before. But somehow, she thought this might be him being angry. Eleanor, just in case, asked him.
“Dreid, are you perhaps angry?”
His fingers paused.
“Angry?”
“Because I was there……”
“……”
Dreid gripped Eleanor’s thigh. Eleanor shifted her legs slightly from the sudden force. Then, he gently stroked Eleanor’s white legs and said.
“Honestly, I am angry. Because I saw you go with that bastard.”
“…Nothing happened.”
“I know.”
“You know?”
Eleanor asked with a hint of doubt. But Dreid grinned and immediately positioned himself between her legs.
“…Dreid.”
“I was very worried because of you.”
He slowly kissed Eleanor’s cheek.
“I was worried you might give your heart to that kind of guy.”
Dreid let out a shallow sigh and met Eleanor’s eyes. Eleanor exhaled and looked at him, saying.
“…I’ve never had other feelings for him.”
He chuckled.
“I’m sorry this time.”
Eleanor stared at Dreid blankly at the unexpected apology.
“I should have told you sooner. I think I was too greedy.”
Dreid stroked her legs as if drawing a line with his fingers, a self-deprecating smile on his face. His fingers stopped at her knee.
“Eleanor, today will be a bit difficult.”
A subtle heat could be seen in his clear blue eyes.
“This time, I’m very angry with myself too. I definitely had my faults. I should have accommodated you more.”
“……”
“I should have been more careful.”
Dreid muttered as if blaming himself. His hot breath tickled Eleanor’s ear. Eleanor felt his breath but thought about what he was saying. She wondered if Dreid was very worried because the Crown Prince had caused trouble for her.
“…It’s okay, Dreid.”
Eleanor said, looking into his eyes. His clear blue eyes flickered for a moment, and heat surged. He smiled, keeping his gaze fixed on Eleanor.
Eleanor closed her eyes. It was embarrassing to keep meeting his gaze. Today, Dreid seemed excessively fixated on meeting her eyes.
“Eleanor.”
At Dreid’s low voice, Eleanor slowly opened her eyes. His lips touched hers softly. It was excessively hot. The kiss was like a plea, as if begging her to look at him. His lips softly parted.
“You’re the only one I see.”
“……”
“As always, you’re the only one for me.”
He whispered to Eleanor with a grin. Meanwhile, Dreid’s lips moved from her neck down to her collarbone. His lips did not leave Eleanor’s body all night.

Eleanor slowly opened her eyes. As soon as she opened them, her whole body ached as if throbbing. He had attacked her like he was out of his mind yesterday. Eleanor looked to the side, just in case.
Dreid must have already woken up, as his side of the bed was empty. Come to think of it, the surroundings had been tidied up. His shirt, which he had just taken off yesterday, was gone, and the blankets, as well as her body, were clean.
Eleanor managed to get up and headed to the bathroom. Her whole body screamed with pain every time she walked. Eleanor pressed her lips together tightly and turned on the hot water. She felt she needed to relax her body, even just a little.
After getting dressed and going downstairs, Dreid had already prepared breakfast and was waiting. He had finished getting ready for work and was wearing a white shirt. Dreid, who was just bringing bread to the table, spotted Eleanor coming down. He smiled and said.
“You’re awake.”
Despite moving so roughly yesterday, Dreid looked refreshed and showed no signs of fatigue. He even seemed more energetic.
‘Am I the only one who’s tired?’
Eleanor felt a sense of futility. No, even so, yesterday…
However, Eleanor stopped thinking. Thinking about it wouldn’t bring yesterday back. But Eleanor was slightly afraid that Dreid might attack her like that again.
Eleanor sat down at the table he had set, wary of Dreid. The food was neat. A simple apple salad and porridge bread made from oats were toasted golden brown. Next to it was the apple jam he had made. It looked appetizing, but it was quite a large portion for breakfast.
Eleanor looked at the bread piled up like a mountain and said.
“It seems like a lot.”
“Considering yesterday, you need to eat a lot.”
Dreid said it as if it were nothing, but Eleanor paused for a moment. Yesterday’s events came back to her vividly. She felt a moment of resentment. Dreid was the one who had made it so difficult. Eleanor raised her head to speak.
“Eleanor, eat quickly.”
Dreid said, sitting opposite Eleanor. He didn’t even glance at the food, but looked at her instead. He smiled when his eyes met Eleanor’s. For some reason, that smile seemed bright.
‘He did seem to be in a good mood earlier…’
It seemed like the first time Dreid had looked so cheerful. He had never smiled so brightly before. No, she thought she might have seen it when they first met. Eleanor stared at Dreid’s face as if trying to pierce through it.
Then Dreid said with a laugh.
“Eleanor, what is it? Is something on my face?”
Dreid had completely fixed his gaze on Eleanor. A smile was still on his face.
“No.”
Dreid’s face looked perfectly fine. Although Eleanor replied no, his clear blue eyes shone with subtle curiosity. He seemed quite curious about what Eleanor was thinking right now. Eleanor smiled back at him and lowered her gaze. The delicious smell tickled her nose.
She immediately picked up her fork. The cold metal touched her hand. Looking around the table, the salad marinated in apple sauce stood out. Eleanor moved her fork without hesitation. It was just as she was about to stab the lettuce with her fork.
She strangely felt that the surroundings were too quiet. At this time of day, there were always cheerful sounds…
Eleanor looked around and said.
“By the way, Mrs. Beckade hasn’t been seen lately.”
In fact, she hadn’t seen Mrs. Beckade since she had misunderstood Dreid. At that time, Dreid had said he sent Mrs. Beckade home early in the evening. Now that she thought about it, Mrs. Beckade hadn’t been seen that morning either.
Eleanor quite liked her, as she was the one who enlivened the always quiet mansion.
Then Dreid said.
“She went to visit relatives for a while.”
It was such a sudden statement that Eleanor’s eyes widened as she asked.
“What happened?”
“A relative fell ill and needs care.”
Eleanor was momentarily surprised by the seemingly serious matter, then felt a pang of disappointment. She thought Mrs. Beckade would at least leave a letter. Mrs. Beckade had been quite affectionate in the mansion, so Eleanor thought she would leave some news. As Eleanor looked dejectedly at the food, Dreid said.
“The situation was so sudden that she couldn’t tell you before she left.”
Dreid’s words somewhat put Eleanor at ease. Indeed, if a relative suddenly fell ill, something like that could happen.
“Then what about a letter? Haven’t you received any letters from Mrs. Beckade?”
Dreid shook his head and said.
“Perhaps life there is busy, but there hasn’t been anything so far.”
Given the lack of news, it seemed life there wasn’t going well. It must be a rather serious illness. Eleanor sighed.
‘To think I felt resentful without even knowing that.’
Eleanor regretted her shallow thoughts and ate the apple salad. The texture was crisp and delicious. The moderately infused apple sauce was also refreshing. Eleanor busily moved her fork.
“Is it delicious?”
When she looked up, Dreid was watching her with a smile. Eleanor nodded. Come to think of it, his cooking skills seemed to be improving day by day. Then Eleanor realized that she didn’t even properly know his favorite or disliked foods.
It was evident just by looking at the table. Everything was something Eleanor liked. Moreover, Dreid hadn’t touched his food yet.
“Dreid, did you perhaps eat breakfast already?”
As expected, Dreid nodded. He smiled, as if pleased by Eleanor’s question.
Eleanor looked at Dreid for a moment and opened her mouth.
“Do you have any favorite or disliked foods? Come to think of it, I don’t properly know what you like or dislike.”
Eleanor recalled the past. She was surprised she didn’t know this after living with Dreid for a year and a half. Of course, he hadn’t really told her either.
“I like everything you like, and I dislike everything you dislike.”
Eleanor sighed at Dreid’s answer. She had heard that before.
“Not what I like, but do you have any foods you really like? Or perhaps any objects you dislike or places you like?”
“Well, there’s no one but you.”
“……”
Eleanor was speechless. Seeing Eleanor like that, Dreid laughed and said again.
“There’s truly no one I like more than you.”
Eleanor silently looked at Dreid. He was laughing as if he found the situation amusing. He seemed to enjoy Eleanor’s interest in him.
