My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 26
Is it to make me feel differently……?
When Eleanor remained silent, Mackiv added as if to elaborate.
“And just because two people, a man and a woman, meet doesn’t mean it’s that kind of relationship, right?”
At those words, Eleanor stopped crying. It felt like he was defending Dreid, for some reason. What could he possibly know to speak like that? She couldn’t think any deeper.
“If it’s not that kind of relationship, then what is it?”
Eleanor lifted her head and spoke.
Mackiv looked at Eleanor’s face and blinked. Eleanor must have cried quite a bit, as her eyes and even her cheeks were wet with tears.
However, he didn’t think she looked ugly. On the contrary, her tear-streaked cheeks made her look even more pure and delicate. He said, flustered.
“Ah, no, it’s not.”
As Eleanor looked at him quizzically, Mackiv added as if nothing was wrong.
“I feel like one might have such impure thoughts.”
As if Eleanor agreed with his words, she turned her head without saying more. Then she looked back at the tracker. Tear streaks still marked Eleanor’s face.
Mackiv thought Eleanor was remarkable and said.
“Are you going to track again?”
“Yes.”
Eleanor only looked at the tracker. Dreid seemed to be moving somewhere, as the numbers kept changing.
Since it had come to this, she had to see it through to the end. No matter how dirty and murky the place was, Eleanor was willing to go to the very end. She had to end this miserable feeling once and for all.
“What was the room number you booked earlier?”
Before her tears had even dried, Eleanor asked. Mackiv fumbled through his pocket. The faint clinking sound was an added bonus. Finding the key, Mackiv said, looking at the number.
“It’s room 1110. Right next to 1109.”
If it hadn’t been for Mackiv, she might not have been able to secure that room. Eleanor calmly looked at him and said.
“Mackiv, thank you.”
“Don’t mention it. I’m glad I wasn’t a bother.”
Mackiv replied with a smile.
Eleanor looked at Mackiv intently. He was actually being of great help to her. Starting with calculating the location, to securing a room that was already booked. If it hadn’t been for Mackiv, Eleanor wouldn’t have been able to do such things alone. Of course, she might have managed somehow, but it wouldn’t have been resolved so easily.
However, Eleanor had been treating Mackiv, who had helped her so much, rather coldly. Of course, Eleanor was quite shy. But thinking about it, there was no need to be so curt with Mackiv.
‘He doesn’t seem to have any particular feelings for me.’
At first, Eleanor couldn’t get used to the overly friendly Mackiv. But while she was with him, he had never shown any impure intentions directly. It was unsettling, but that was all.
Most importantly, Mackiv, who was meeting Eleanor’s gaze directly, was smiling innocently. As if he was relieved, she wasn’t crying anymore.
Suddenly, Eleanor felt a sense of unwarranted guilt. She felt she had been too cold to him all this time.
Finally, Eleanor opened her mouth calmly.
“Mackiv, thank you for helping me all this time.”
As Eleanor spoke honestly, Mackiv looked at her anxiously.
“Are you alright? You’re not having bad thoughts, are you?”
“Yes.”
“Then why do you sound like you’re leaving now?”
“Thinking about it, I realized I received a lot of help.”
It felt liberating to admit it. It was surprising how her hurt feelings from Dreid made her more generous in places like this.
As Eleanor looked at him calmly, Mackiv cleared his throat. Then he muttered softly.
“I just did what I could……”
Mackiv blushed, as if embarrassed by the praise. He even avoided Eleanor’s gaze.
“Mackiv.”
“Yes?”
“Perhaps……”
“Ah, I get hot easily, and I get flustered when people praise me. I actually prefer it when people tell me I’m handsome.”
Mackiv rambled. Eleanor nodded and said.
“Mackiv, you’re handsome.”
“Yes?”
“Actually, I thought so from the beginning.”
Eleanor had thought Mackiv was handsome from the moment she first saw him. His face was too good to be wasted on selling magic orbs door-to-door. But looking at him now, he seemed to find a lot of fun and enjoyment in this work.
That’s all that matters. Even if others might find it tiring.
At her words, Mackiv blurted out, flustered.
“Miss Eleanor, why are you acting like this?”
Mackiv’s handsome face, as well as his ears and neck, turned red.
“What do you mean, why?”
At her words, Mackiv let out a faint sigh. He looked unusually thoughtful.
“It’s nothing.”
Then he moved away from Eleanor’s side and crossed to the opposite seat. Even though the carriage was moving fast, he sat steadily.
“Did my words upset you?”
Eleanor asked, just in case. But Mackiv shook his head. The redness on his face was slowly fading. Now only his cheeks were flushed, and the sight seemed to suit him strangely well.
“No, I actually like it.”
Mackiv said with a faint smile. Eleanor was relieved that Mackiv wasn’t upset and actually liked it. Then, as if by habit, she looked at the tracker. The familiar numbers appeared.
It was the number she had seen at the Raftin Hotel. Dreid had arrived at the hotel.
‘Who is he with at that hotel?’
These were the thoughts that came to her first now.
‘Could it be with the person I saw earlier?’
The thought made something surge up again. Eleanor barely managed to suppress it, taking a deep breath in and out.
Just then, the carriage stopped. Perhaps because the quick-witted Mackiv had already spoken to the driver, they had arrived at the Raftin Hotel. But as soon as the carriage stopped, Eleanor’s hands trembled. The tracker felt like it would break any moment.
“Miss Eleanor.”
Mackiv said cautiously. He got out of the carriage, carrying all of Eleanor’s luggage. Eleanor barely managed to loosen her grip and said to him.
“Mackiv, give me my luggage.”
“No, I’ll carry it. It’s not heavy.”
“It will be heavy if you carry my luggage along with all the magic orbs hanging from your clothes.”
“It’s not heavy at all?”
Mackiv smiled brightly and lifted the luggage. As he did, the magic orbs he carried jingled and swayed. The faint sound of magic seemed to have worn off, and now the sound was quite substantial.
“I need to reapply that magic.”
“Yes?”
As Mackiv was momentarily taken aback, Eleanor took the luggage he was holding. As Eleanor quickly snatched the luggage away, Mackiv said dejectedly.
“I could have carried it.”
“I want to install it in the room quickly.”
Eleanor said with firm resolve.
“Install what?”
“From now on, I will use every method to find out. I will use all the devices I haven’t used before to find out what is happening in that room and what Dreid is thinking.”
“…It was really fortunate that we booked that room.”
Mackiv said, watching Eleanor’s expression. Eleanor steeled her resolve again and walked quickly. Mackiv paused for a moment, watching her.
By then, Eleanor had already entered the hotel. Mackiv lightly quickened his pace, following her. A smooth smile was drawn on his face.

The royal floor was different from the other floors. The walls were decorated with gold, and the finest carpet was laid on the floor, so no footsteps could be heard. The lighting was soft and subtle, not garish.
Eleanor had never been to such a luxurious hotel before, so she looked around in wonder for a moment. Mackiv skillfully walked towards the room. At that moment, Eleanor glanced briefly at the room next door.
Dreid had returned here. That meant he was here too.
“Miss Eleanor, it’s open.”
Just then, Mackiv opened the door and said. Eleanor walked towards Mackiv but suddenly stopped.
There was only one room.
As Eleanor stopped walking without a word, Mackiv approached her, looking puzzled.
“Miss Eleanor, is something wrong?”
“There’s only one room.”
“Yes, we booked one room.”
Only then did Mackiv realize the unsettling fact and stopped speaking.
“Ah, then I’ll go downstairs and see if there’s another room. You go in first.”
Mackiv handed her the room key. Eleanor had no choice but to enter the room next to Dreid’s. It seemed things were going a bit awry from the start. Two people, and only one room.
And not of the same gender, but opposite genders.
Eleanor entered the room with an uncomfortable feeling. The interior had a different atmosphere from the outside. As expected of a room on the royal floor, the size alone was different. It felt like a mansion, not a room.
A spacious window and a magnificent chandelier were visible at a glance. Under the light, antique furniture set the overall mood. Eleanor stared blankly at the sea visible through the window, then turned her head to the side.
It was a wall. Eleanor checked the tracker. The numbers on the tracker were still the same. Perhaps Dreid was beyond this wall.
Eleanor looked at the blank wall and took out various devices from her travel bag. Then she calmly began to arrange them.
She took out a round device and attached it to the wall. But after a short while, the device fell off. The thud sounded quite loud.
Eleanor was startled and remained stunned for a moment. It wasn’t heavy, but the sound was louder than expected. Moreover, since it fell after hitting the wall, it seemed like the sound would have been heard in the next room too.
But this was a room on the royal floor.
‘Would it really be heard?’
Eleanor picked up the device again and attached it to the wall. This time, she pressed it quite firmly. She pressed it with all her might, then slowly let go of her hand.
But after a short while, it fell off again with a thud. This time, the sound was louder than before.
“Why is this happening?”
Eleanor frowned and checked the attachment surface. It was fine. There was nothing strange about it.
Just then, the bell rang. Eleanor was startled and ran to the door. Checking, it was Mackiv. When Eleanor opened the door, Mackiv looked at her expression.
“Miss Eleanor.”
“Don’t tell me there are no rooms?”
Mackiv nodded. Eleanor looked around the room. It was spacious enough for two people to stay. Moreover, there were two separate beds.
