My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 25
“What if things related to the necklace come out too?”
“I’ll handle that.”
Dreid said with a smile and a relaxed attitude. Nevertheless, a hint of coldness seeped into his voice. Sertin shook her head. It would only be a waste of breath to say more. She stopped worrying there and opened her mouth indifferently.
“Because I went through a lot to get that brooch.”
Sertin extended her hand. She wanted satisfactory payment. Dreid let out a hollow laugh. Then, he turned his gaze aside. For a moment, he paused, staring intently at one spot.
Sertin said in a wronged voice.
“Even if it doesn’t look like much, it’s amazing I got that much in that amount of time, you know? You can even use it on the Crown Prince.”
As Dreid didn’t even look, she sighed and said.
“What is it this time?”
Sertin, wondering what was happening, looked where his gaze was directed. In her eyes, she saw a person with magic orbs hanging all over their clothes. They seemed to be a magic orb vendor.
“Are you interested in magic orbs?”
“No, the person next to them.”
As soon as Sertin saw the person next to the magic orb vendor, she said in surprise.
“She really looks like Eleanor.”
“It is Eleanor.”
Dreid said with certainty. But Sertin shook her head. Just then, they disappeared into a carriage. Soon, the carriage quickly departed from there.
As soon as she saw that, Sertin said.
“Why would Eleanor come all the way here? Doesn’t Eleanor have things to do?”
Dreid stared at the road where the carriage had disappeared with a hardened face. Sertin, thinking it was someone different from Eleanor no matter how she looked at it, added.
“If it were Eleanor, she would have come and spoken to me while I was here with you. Why would she pretend not to know and leave?”
Dreid paused at her words. Why did Eleanor leave? Then, he suggested one possibility.
“She might not have seen me.”
As he said that, Dreid felt self-loathing. He would have definitely seen Eleanor.
“How could she not see you? You’re the most conspicuous person here. Of course, I am too.”
Sertin said, as if to confirm it.
It was true. The people around were glancing at them. Following just those gazes, one could easily tell Dreid was here. There was even a subtle atmosphere, as if a celebrity had arrived.
Dreid tapped the table with his finger, seemingly deep in thought. Sertin clicked her tongue. He was being overly cautious. Shouldn’t he rush to Eleanor right now and say something?
“Aren’t you going?”
Sertin, unable to stand it any longer, spoke, and Dreid looked up. Unlike before, he smiled leisurely. Dreid took the brooch Sertin had given him. It was a brooch that would be useful when making a contract with the Crown Prince.
He took out a few blank checks and stood up. Sertin quickly snatched the blank checks and smiled brightly.
“Thank you.”
Sertin said with sincerity. Then she looked up at Dreid, but he showed no sign of haste.
“…You are going to Eleanor, right?”
“I have an appointment.”
Dreid said leisurely. Sertin felt uneasy, sensing he had some ulterior motive.
“Without going to Eleanor?”
Dreid just smiled. Then he left the cafe. Sertin watched him until he was completely out of sight, looking bewildered.
“What the heck, what’s his real motive?”
Even though she was one of the few people who knew Dreid, Sertin couldn’t figure out what he was thinking. She shook her head.

Eleanor stared blankly out the window the entire carriage ride. Dreid’s appearance there felt like a dream. A dazed illusion that was hard to believe as reality. She thought it was fortunate that she had left there without incident.
Otherwise, she would have been made a fool of. What if Dreid had laughed at her there? What if he had said, “Now that you’ve found out,” and told her they should break up?
As soon as she thought of that, Eleanor felt a twisting sensation in her stomach.
‘Who on earth is that person?’
It was someone she had never seen by Dreid’s side. She hadn’t met them at balls or other gatherings. But at first glance, they seemed very close to Dreid.
That fact made Eleanor even more upset. As Eleanor clutched the tracker as if it would break, Mackiv said.
“Lady Eleanor.”
“……”
Eleanor stared out the window, as if she couldn’t hear Mackiv’s voice. Mackiv looked at Eleanor’s hand. It seemed to be trembling slightly because she was gripping it so hard.
He thought she might hurt her hand if she continued like that. Mackiv slowly reached out towards the tracker. As he moved slightly, a faint jingle echoed.
Even when Mackiv brought his hand to Eleanor’s tracker, Eleanor didn’t even turn her head. It was when he was trying to gently pull the tracker from Eleanor’s hand.
Eleanor turned her head. Mackiv, with a flustered expression, pointed to Eleanor’s hand.
“You might hurt your hand.”
At his words, Eleanor looked at her hand. Then she slowly released her grip on the tracker. Her hand felt numb for a moment. She must have been unconsciously gripping the tracker too tightly. Eleanor looked at the numbers displayed on the tracker, then turned her head.
Then, something welled up inside her.
“…Are you alright?”
“Yes.”
Eleanor lied. She wasn’t alright. Just then, something fluttered in front of her. It was a handkerchief. It was dyed in various colors, and at a glance, it was distracting.
As Eleanor looked at it quizzically, Mackiv smiled and said.
“I thought you might need it.”
“…I have one too.”
Her voice trembled slightly, but Eleanor turned her head as if nothing was wrong.
“Still, you might need more. I’ll leave it beside you, so use it if you need it.”
Mackiv carefully placed the handkerchief next to Eleanor. Then he didn’t take his eyes off Eleanor.
‘Who on earth is that person?’
The mysterious person didn’t leave Eleanor’s mind. Was Dreid really cheating on her? Coming all the way to Delfos? Deceiving her by saying he was on a business trip?
Her head felt like it would explode. If only she had spoken up there.
No, if only she had watched a little longer before leaving.
Eleanor felt a faint regret. Come to think of it, she was so flustered at the time that all she could think about was needing to get out of there.
That was all. She thought Dreid might be cheating, and couldn’t think of anything else.
However, if she had thought about it a little, there was quite a lot to investigate there.
If only she had heard their conversation, she wouldn’t have thought so extremely. Eleanor bit her lip.
There were many ways to find out the truth through their conversation, even if Dreid didn’t directly reveal his relationship with that person. In fact, there might have been even more to discover then.
Eleanor felt a pang of regret, as if she had thrown away an opportunity herself.
She had come to find evidence about Dreid, yet she had just let it pass. She felt indignant for a moment.
Just then, something fell downwards. Eleanor unconsciously touched her face. Tears were flowing down her face without her realizing it.
Eleanor took out a handkerchief from her pocket. Even though she wiped them, the tears kept flowing. She didn’t like crying in front of others.
She felt a pointless ache in her heart.
Then, she suddenly remembered Mackiv blocking her view earlier. It was as if he knew well what kind of relationship Eleanor and Dreid had. He had blocked her view as if to protect her from seeing Dreid with someone else.
Eleanor looked at Mackiv and said.
“Did you know the person I’m tracking is my husband?”
Eleanor asked honestly. There was nothing left to hide in this situation anyway. Mackiv rolled his eyes slightly and nodded as if he had no choice.
“When did you find out?”
“Um……”
He hesitated for a moment, watching Eleanor’s expression.
“I don’t have the leisure to play games right now, so tell me honestly.”
As Eleanor spoke, Mackiv said.
“From the beginning.”
“You knew from the beginning?”
“Yes.”
“How?”
“You were wearing a ring on your finger, and above all, Lady Eleanor seemed to care a lot.”
Eleanor was momentarily stunned by the simple and easy words, then nodded.
“…You have good eyes.”
As Eleanor accepted this, a question suddenly arose. Mackiv hadn’t said how he knew Dreid was her husband. Mackiv had only explained why he knew Eleanor was married.
“Mackiv.”
Eleanor called him seriously, and Mackiv fixed his gaze on Eleanor.
“I never said I was married to Dreid. I just said I had a husband. How did you know Dreid was my husband?”
Then Mackiv said cautiously.
“You won’t believe me if I say I just guessed, will you?”
“Yes.”
“But it’s true. I have great intuition.”
“So, are your guesses always correct?”
Mackiv nodded with a smile. His eyes shone purely, as if there was not a shred of falsehood in them.
Eleanor turned her head. She was tired of guessing about people like this now. Even if she guessed what kind of person someone was, she didn’t know the person closest to her.
Then Mackiv said as if making an excuse.
“Lady Eleanor, I didn’t do it to deceive you on purpose. It’s just that it wouldn’t be of much help if I said anything…”
“Wasn’t it ridiculous?”
“Ridiculous?”
As Mackiv said, flustered, Eleanor let out a hollow laugh.
“Seeing you, who can’t even trust your own husband properly and track him like that, wasn’t it ridiculous?”
“Lady Eleanor.”
Eleanor buried her face in her hands. She couldn’t pretend to be fine anymore. She felt like she was making herself miserable. Tears burst forth. It felt like everything she had held back and endured was finally bursting out.
She wondered if it was meant to be revealed so rawly.
“Lady Eleanor, don’t think too extremely. There must be a misunderstanding.”
Mackiv sat down next to Eleanor, as if he had appeared out of nowhere. It was strange how Mackiv was. Why was he treating her so kindly when he was a stranger?
Come to think of it, Eleanor had always treated Mackiv curtly. But Mackiv had been consistent. Even when she spoke dismissively, he always smiled.
