My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 12
A little while after Eleanor went downstairs, the front door opened. Dreid closed the door behind him and smiled softly when he saw Eleanor.
“Were you still awake?”
“I couldn’t fall asleep.”
That wasn’t a lie. No matter how much she read, she couldn’t sleep. Dreid came even closer to Eleanor.
“Is it because you missed me?”
“Well…”
Did she miss Dreid? But that wasn’t why she was waiting. She was reading a book and realized it was late, and she was a little worried because he hadn’t come home yet.
When Eleanor didn’t answer easily, Dreid cupped her cheek. The warmth spread, and Eleanor naturally looked up at him.
“Did you have dinner?”
“Yes, it was delicious.”
Eleanor said with a smile. If she said she hadn’t eaten, he would definitely make dinner for her again. She didn’t want to trouble Dreid, and she didn’t want him to find out that she hadn’t eaten dinner. He would definitely think it was strange.
Eleanor wanted to act as natural as possible. Dreid treated her the same as always. Moreover, she didn’t want to make him suspicious of her.
Dreid smiled and said, “That’s a relief. It was a meal I put a lot of time and effort into.”
Dreid lowered his head slightly. The smell of the outside air, along with his warm breath, reached her nose. His eyes stared intently at Eleanor’s lips.
Eleanor gently pulled her head back. Then Dreid’s gaze locked onto Eleanor’s eyes.
His eyes showed doubt. Eleanor said as if nothing was wrong, “Did you get a promotion?”
Then she stepped back far enough that his breath wouldn’t reach her. As Eleanor stepped back, Dreid raised his head. He said with a relaxed attitude, “A promotion?”
“Haven’t you been working at Finn Bank for quite a while?”
“I’ve been working there for a long time. Long enough to be sick of it.”
Dreid chuckled. Eleanor bit her lip, feeling like she was about to play Twenty Questions.
When she asked a question with a clear intention, Dreid seemed to be telling the truth but vaguely avoided it. So, Eleanor finally told the truth.
“I saw you at Finn Bank today.”
“You saw me?”
Dreid said lightly and took another step closer to Eleanor. They were already almost touching, but now they were almost pressed against each other. She could feel his breath better, and his scent was stronger.
Eleanor instinctively stepped back. But he closed the distance as much as Eleanor retreated.
His thigh touched between Eleanor’s legs. Eleanor stepped back further, but her back touched the cold wooden wall.
As Eleanor looked at him in embarrassment, Dreid smiled.
“Were you very embarrassed?”
Dreid cupped Eleanor’s cheek. She could feel the warmth from his large hand. She swallowed, and her breathing became a little faster.
“You…”
“They say I’m very capable there. So, everyone is looking for me.”
Dreid slowly lowered his head. Soon, he was at eye level with Eleanor. He chuckled when he met Eleanor’s eyes.
“Eleanor, I’m more attracted to you today.”
Soon his lips touched hers. Eleanor gasped and grabbed his shoulder. Then he stepped back a little and said, “I was going to hold back if you were asleep.”
Dreid looked at Eleanor’s lips and then raised his eyes to meet Eleanor’s again.
“How can I hold back when you’re awake like this?”
He raised the corner of his mouth.
“…I’m tired.”
Eleanor turned her head and said, but Dreid lowered his head around Eleanor’s neck.
“Really?”
Every time he spoke, his breath touched her neck, and Eleanor twitched her shoulders. Noticing the gesture, Dreid gently bit Eleanor’s neck.
“Dreid!”
Eleanor said with a small tremor, but Dreid slowly and languidly kissed Eleanor’s neck. His lips were so soft that Eleanor unknowingly moaned.
“Ah.”
Eleanor inhaled. She didn’t want to give in to him today. Eleanor barely opened her eyes and barely regained her reason. She gently pushed Dreid’s chest, which was touching her. Surprisingly, he easily stepped back.
“Eleanor.”
It was that expression again. An expression that looked pitiful, as if he was hurt by something. Yesterday, Eleanor had given in to him because of that expression. She didn’t want to give in this time…
“I love you.”
As he said those words, Dreid smiled softly. At that moment, Eleanor felt as if something hit her heart with a thud, and she was stunned.
She had heard those words countless times, but strangely, his words felt heavier today. Moreover, they sounded more desperate for some reason.
As Eleanor was stunned, his lips soon touched hers.
“Dreid… Ah.”
“Eleanor, you’re the only one for me.”
He pushed Eleanor against the wall. He pushed his tongue in without hesitation, as if not giving her a chance to breathe. Their touching breaths gradually became rough.
Eleanor naturally lost strength and pushed him away. Dreid didn’t take his lips off hers and grabbed her hand. Then he immediately hugged Eleanor. Eleanor was embarrassed and pushed him away. Dreid raised the corner of his mouth and kissed Eleanor’s cheek.
“Eleanor, I had a hard time today.”
“Why?”
Eleanor barely caught her breath and asked. For some reason, it seemed like there was a reason why he was late. But Dreid smiled as if lightly crushing Eleanor’s worries.
“Because I couldn’t see you until now.”
“…”
“Did you receive the flowers I sent?”
Eleanor nodded. In the meantime, Dreid was skillfully opening the bedroom door. Soon the bedroom door closed, and he laid Eleanor on the bed. She tried to get up from the bed, but Dreid immediately climbed on top of Eleanor.
He looked down at her, resting his arms on the bed as if trying to prevent Eleanor from leaving. Eleanor looked at his arms trying to restrain her and said with a stiff face.
“Dreid.”
“I’ve been waiting for your call all day.”
Dreid said with a smile, but his eyes seemed strangely sunken. Did he get hurt because she didn’t call?
“I was going to call, but something came up.”
So, a lie that wasn’t planned came out.
“What happened?”
“I went to the bank because I missed you.”
“You missed me?”
Dreid seemed to be in a good mood right away. His eyes softened even more. Eleanor nodded. Anyway, it was true that she went to see Dreid because she missed him. Although the words Dreid understood now and the purpose Eleanor went there were different.
Then Dreid said, “Then why didn’t you acknowledge me?”
“Because you seemed like a different person than the person I usually knew.”
Eleanor was honest this time. Then Dreid lowered his head further towards Eleanor’s face and said, “I’m always the same person.”
Dreid’s breath felt closer. His lips were right in front of her eyes. Eleanor deliberately avoided his eyes and said, “But you looked different then.”
“But I’m still the same person. Your husband.”
Eleanor bit her lip. Dreid said the exact words. So, she felt even stranger.
“Am I such a difficult person for you?”
“No, that’s not it.”
Then Dreid grabbed Eleanor’s thigh.
“Dreid.”
“We do this kind of thing every day.”
Eleanor couldn’t say anything in particular. It was even more so because his lips were approaching.
【 Inquiry 】
Eleanor was dazed even after waking up. She only blinked and looked at the ceiling.
To be honest, yesterday was good. She tried not to give in to him, but Eleanor let out a faint sigh. Can she keep doing this, still the same as before?
Then her face turned red in an instant. She remembered last night.
Eleanor turned to the side just in case. Dreid had already gotten up, and the place where he had been lying was neat. Just as she felt a strange sense of regret, Eleanor got out of bed.
Embarrassing memories kept creeping into her head. Nevertheless, Eleanor put on her gown as if nothing was wrong. It was only embarrassing to think about it more. Anyway, it had been like that before, and there was nothing new. But her red face didn’t subside easily.
Eleanor slowly looked at the mirror in front of her.
“…”
When she thought of Dreid yesterday, her face seemed to get even hotter. In the end, Eleanor headed to the bathroom to cool down this hot heat.
It was even worse after she took off her gown.
‘I’m glad there are no traces on my neck.’
Dreid thought about Eleanor quite a bit in that regard. That’s why she married Dreid.
Eleanor washed quickly. Her thoughts seemed to calm down a bit as she wet her body with cold water.
After coming out of the bedroom, Eleanor checked the time. Come to think of it, it was later than morning. It was already approaching lunchtime.
She was glad that today was a holiday. She must have been tired because she was too distracted yesterday.
A delicious smell came from downstairs. Eleanor calmly headed to the kitchen.
She saw Dreid’s back as he was preparing food. His broad shoulders caught her eye first. He was wearing a white shirt, but she seemed to be able to faintly see his firm muscles.
Dreid turned around and said, as if he had noticed Eleanor coming.
“Did you sleep well?”
Eleanor nodded. He smiled and turned back around.
“Wait a little bit.”
“Is there anything I can help with?”
“It’s almost done, so you just have to wait.”
Dreid said softly, but she couldn’t stay still. She was about to get up from her chair.
“Eleanor.”
Suddenly, Dreid called her name. Eleanor wondered what was going on and turned to look at him. But Dreid was still turned around. Then he said, “You didn’t eat dinner yesterday.”
“Ah…”
“Was it so disgusting that you couldn’t eat it?”
Only then did Dreid turn around. His voice had a hint of coldness.
